Some videos stop playing for a while, Ipod 60 GB

Hi,
My problem is that I loaded into my iPod a lot of videos, and they in iTunes work fine, but, in my iPod, some of them, after a few seconds, stop playing, then continue, but without sound, if I go back or forward, the sound appear again, but then after a few seconds, happen again...
Regards,
Kike

Workaround
I think i found a workaround for the freezing problem, without downgrading the firmware.
Before the video freezes, pause the video in the Ipod, slide the hold button to hold, wait some seconds , slide it back again. Start the video again, and slide the button over to hold again. Now the video wont freeze
works everytime for me ..

  • Some videos stop playing at 480p (Chrome & IE)

Hello, I'm new here. I know theres a "Chromium forum" to problems like this, but there I got no response, so I hope someone help me here.
I'm having an unusual problem, I think. Some videos (the minority) suddenly stops playing at a specific time (not the same time for all videos)... Some videos stops at the beginning, others at the end... The time where they stops is already buffered. The "Pause" button becomes, automatically, a "Play" button, and if I click on it, the video doesn't resumes. And doesn't appears that "loading icon".
I've tested on Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421 (64-bit Edition) and Chrome, both have the same problem. But the interesting is that this problem only occurs on 480p!
Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVjsGKrE6E8. In this video, exactly at 4:29, it stops on IE & Chrome, only on 480p. When I change to another resolution the problem is solved. I really don't know what is going on, since I've tried everything to solve this problem...
I've tried: cleaning Chrome & IE's cache/cookies/plugin data, Windows Cache, Temporary Internet Files (IE's cache?), fixing the Windows registry with CCleaner, reinstalling Flash for both IE and Chrome, activating/deactivating different verions of Flash on Chrome ("chrome://plugins/") and cleaning Flash's cache (I don't know if it was really the cache). Nothing worked.
I've tested in a notebook here and the problem occurs too!
    Notebook:
    Chrome 22.0.1229.94 m
    Flash ("chrome://plugins"): 11.4.31.110
    My computer:
    Chrome 23.0.1271.52 beta-m
    Flash ("chrome://plugins"): 11.4.31.200
There are 2 versions of Flash on "chrome://plugins" in my computer and in the notebook. Both have 1 different version, but both have 1 version in common: 11,4,402,287. I've tried disabling it and/or the other version on both, but the problem persists...
The only thing that comes in my mind is:
    1) It's an ISP's problem.
    2) It's a YouTube's problem.
    3) It's a problem related to my router/modem (I've tried restarting both, but didn't work).
My computer is running on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and the Chrome is my main browser. I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 (but even when its disabled, the problem occurs) and the notebook has no antivirus, so, it's not a problem related to any antivirus.
    Help? ):

We are seeing similar issues with content delivered via an rtmp streaming. The content is approximately 1100kbps. The video will stop usually about 2 seconds into playback but is intermittant. If the user seeks to the begginning of the video or farther into the video, playback will execute as expected. In all cases we have noticed that Flash is using 100% CPU.

  • Why do some songs and videos stop playing or freeze while playing?

I have an 80 gig iPod classic that I never had problems with until now. I started noticing songs and videos I bought from iTunes aren't working. They will play for 30 seconds, stop, and go to the next song. I called iTunes, and they told me to use the online support but it hasn't helped me. Every time I go on there, it just tells me to call again. I've also tried to restore my iPod and it didn't work, so I'm wondering if anyone else has found and alternate way to fix it.

I have a similar problem.  My IPod 5 and 3Gen will stop playing songs about halfway through. The timer indicates its playing but no music.  When I've checked these songs on in ITunes they pay fine and completely.  I've tried removing them from ITunes and downloading again but with no success.  This seems to be random and as I have over 2K worth of songs its difficult for me to determin where the problem is.  One of the reasons I purchased the IPod 5 was hopes to eliminate this problem.  Any ideas on what other things I can do to solve this problem?

Weird... this does not happen to mine..... maybe you should try reloading the firmware.... if not might be a player with your player and you should call support.

  • Videos stop playing

I bought a new MacBook just a week ago. I noticed that some videos stop playing after a few seconds when I try to watch them while surfing the internet! For example: I wanted to watch some of the one to one tutorials but I couldn't because ALL the videos stop playing after a very short time as the download stops. I noticed that the same thing appens with lots of the videos from the Apple website. However it's not a problem of Internet connection as when I try to watch the same videos with my iPhone connected to the modem via WiFi (the same type of connection I use for my MacBook) everything goes well.
On the other hand, I have no problems watching YouTube videos.
Thanks in advance for helping me.

Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Leopard.

An article on troubleshooting Permissions can be found here:

By the way, you can ignore any messages about SUID or ACL file permissions, as explained here:

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

  • Why do some YouTube videos stop playing after a short time?

Since sometime in October, 2013, I have noticed that more and more YouTube videos stop playing within a minute of starting. Most that stop do so in 15 or 16 seconds. The playing stops because the download stops. I watch this on a network activity monitor I always have running. Not all videos do this, but the problem is becoming more and more frequent. Some videos which played correctly for me in the recent past are now exhibiting this problem.
Other than installing the latest Firefox updates I have NOT changed the software on my machine. I run Linux by the way. I do not think this is a Linux problem because (1) it was all working before and (2) my son who runs both Mac OS X *and* Windows is also seeing the same problem. We both use Firefox as our browser on all our platforms.
I should also note that I am NOT seeing this problem with any of the other video websites I use, only when I go to YouTube. That leads me to believe that the problem is not in Firefox; if it were it should affect videos from all websites.
Additionally the problem occurs whether or not I log into YouTube.
I have not run Firefox in safe mode because all the extensions I use did not affect the download of Videos before, so I don't expect unchanged extensions to suddenly start causing problems.
So, anyone else see this problem? (There was another note which talked about the same problem but it was disabled.)
Also -- pardon my paranoia, but -- I need to ask: Since YouTube is owned by Google and Google has its own browser it wants you to use, Chrome, is it possible that Google is intentionally causing some YouTube videos to fail if it sees that they are being sent to Firefox?
(That is not so outlandish I think. Microsoft WAS at one point caught mangling web pages going to certain web browsers other than IE. And these days Google wants to dominate the Internet just as badly as Microsoft does, so why not pull dirty tricks too?)
If this keeps happening I am going to have to try Google's Chrome to see if it somehow manages to play YouTube videos correctly while Firefox does not. But I really do NOT want to install Chrome because I trust Google about as much as I trust Microsoft, which is to say Not At All.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
There have been some issues with Flash 11 in the recent past. This could be a manifestation of that issue. Kindly check this response below to see if this helps you in viewing Flash videos.
Also, if you want to check if this is a flash problem and specifically on youtube, you can try the HTML5 version of Youtube. In this, there are no plugins involved, and the browser natively renders the videos. You can signup for the HTML5 trial by visiting http://youtube.com/html5. Please try that and check if the issue goes away.
Also, in this case, Google might not be doing anything sinister - they generally try to be standards compliant too. You can definitely try installing Google Chrome and test this issue, but we definitely would want you to continue to be a Firefox user :)

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

    Also, try this one too
Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash update and/or a malfunctioning browser plugin such as Real Player.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

  • Flash player will stop playing after a while, when viewing certain streams in fullscreen mode.

Hey, can you help me with this problem?
When I start vieweing certain video streams, such as this one http://www.animefreak.tv/watch/hentai-ouji-warawanai-neko-episode-1-online the player would play for a while, then suddenly lose sound, and after 5 seconds or so, it will stop playing.
If I click for pause, then play again it will work for a while, but it's very annoying and there's not much I can do about it.
    I have the same problem on 2 computers, with 2 different OS's (windows 7 & 8).

I suspect you are running into the bug that is described here:

  • Some songs stop playing after 60 seconds

Most of the songs on my ipod were burned thru itunes from cd's I've purchased new from retail stores, Amazon, etc. I'm having a problem where some songs stop playing after 60 seconds. It then goes on to play the next song. Can anyone out there shed any light on this for me?

Flashplayer doesn't play the sound. The video will play for about
two seconds (the whole video is loaded) and than, just stops
playing. I can just drag to another part of the video, from which
two seconds wil be played again. After i refresh Firefox, the

Almost all people mention: 2 seconds, no sound, works for
some time after Flashplayer uninstalled and re-installed, seems to
have started less than two month ago, most browsers/operating
    systems but not usually IE.
No solution so far for me. Some of my data:
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600)
    Service Pack 2

  • Youtube video stops playing after 11 seconds

Mac Pro / Mountain Lion 10.8.2 / Flash 11.4 - YouTube videos stop playing after 11 secs.  Only just started happening last week - around time when I installed latest Lion upgrade but this may be a red herring.  Tried uninstalling Flash and reinstalling with no change.  Checked/emptied cache.

There are several topics with similar symptoms, but I don't think anybody has found an answer yet, as it only occurs on some few systems.
What I would try if I encountered the same problem:
    try disable Hardware Acceleration (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/891337)
try update the graphics drivers (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765)

  • Youtube videos stop playing-appears not to be a browser problem

    Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting here, I've always managed to find a solution to my previous mac problems with a little bit of googling around, but not this time so I really hope someone can help me out here.
It's been going on for about 2 months now, certain videos stop playing about halfway, even if the loadbar was way ahead- it just jumps back on 0:00 along with the time counter, the gray spinning circle appears in the middle of the screen and basically you can't do anything other than refreshing the page. Sometimes, after repeating this for 3-4 times, it plays the whole thing, but the time counter will still frozen on 0:00.In the beginning it was only a few videos, now it's pretty much 7 out of 10 and it really is becoming frustrating. I tried resetting Safari, emptying caches and all that jazz, then I installed google chrome hoping it was just a browser thing, but the problem didn't go away. I tried playing the same videos on the family computer and they worked just fine....
Has anyone had the same problem/any idea what's going on?
Thanks in advance for any replies

Thank you so much! It does fix the problem (which is even more confusing, cause as far as I know it's usually the other way round- people have trouble loading hd videos)  at this point I'll just take what I can get : D I'm just really curious why is this all happening....
    Thanks again!

When I used iOS4.3.3 , my phone did not stop working for a while although I can't see in Myanmar font!

Apple has not yet included a Myanmar font in iOS, and there is no way for users to add one.  You can search the app store for "myanmar" or "burmese" to see if there are some apps that may be useful for some purposes.

  • Videos only play for 5 seconds

I'm having problems adding some videos to play on the iPhone. I've converted the videos to Quicktime, and got them to load on iTunes. They play perfectly there. I synch them to the iPhone, and they appear on the phone, but when they play on the iPhone, they only play for about 5 seconds.
I've previously added a video that works fine... I don't see what I'm doing differently with the new set of videos.
    Ideas?

No.  The videos will play for their entire length.  Try trimming the video in iPhoto by playing it and use the gear icon to bring up the Trip feature:
You'll get this window where you can select the portion of the video to use:
When you're done you can "revert to original" like this:
That may give you what you need for the slideshow.
