Sometimes when I'm tracking vocals, I'll my vocal take is at a faster tempo and in a different key when I play it back. Why is this??

This only happens every once in a while. I've also noticed this only happens when I swich tracks. This is one of the most bizarre issues I've ever come across. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure that you follow the steps you can find in this article: [[Where can I find my Firefox Sync Key?]]
Your sync key should have the following format: x-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
Avoid spaces or any additional character. Finally, make sure that in your work computer you are using the same username and passwords as the one at home, just to make sure that the Sync key corresponds to this account.

But then the song will have placed by Itunes as #5 of 19 for whatever reason. Itunes does not do this every time, but does it with enough frequency to be maddening. Any thoughts?

The problem of tracks becoming de-linked between iTunes and the music files in your iTunes music folder happens for different reasons - this seems to come up fairly commonly in this forum.
The solution can be to locate each song in the iTunes library, as you mentioned - or, but wait, before I get to that...
trouble finding the original track in your iTunes music folder? maybe look for it under compilations, or if not using the 'group compilations preference' then look in the folder under the songs artist name, but what song artist name iTunes uses depends on what you have in the metedata tag spot for album artist or song artist. Any varyation in artist name spelling, in the menu item 'get info' metadata for any selected individual track will cause iTunes to create that as a separate artist folder in the library, even names like 'various' or any difference at all (even the word 'the' can change where in your iTunes music folder a track gets placed by iTunes). You can try to use the finder function of find file (finder munu item outside of iTunes) to locate hard to find items.
Back to how to re-link any de-linked tracks .
There may be scripts that can help re-link de-linked music files - or, at least provide you a list of such files, Scripts are easy to install and use...

Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your Ipod to the PC
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well, since you got such a huge library.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.
If this doesn't resolve your problem, then let me know.

I don't know - but I am having the same problem and have not had any useful help from Apple Support. Everything they told be to do has been done and it hasn't fixed the problem.

The default settings mostly likely use an audio sample rate of 32k. This doesn't work probably in FCP. You're probably better off capturing the tape in iMovie.

You do see the devices heading on the left sidebar? If you don't see the sidebar, go to View>Show sidebar in the iTunes menu and then check to see if the device appears.
If that isn't the problem, go through the troubleshooting steps. It could be the Apple Mobile Device Service issue.

It will take longer to charge the 5G's battery than either the 3G or 4G's battery.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

I made a slide show using imovie. When I play it back on my imac, the slideshow looks perfect. However when I burned in via iDVD and play the disc, the resolution drops off. The video appears fuzzy and not sharp. Any ideas why?

When I played the dvd the resolution is very poor. Fuzzy and shakey images. I tried various solutions, Apple tec told me to go to preferences on iDVD and select "professional" to get higher resolution. Tried that but results still the same. Any ideas?

When you play on your Mac, you can have resolution up to 1920x1080.
When you burn to iDVD you convert to 640x480.
