Sony X85B 4k smart TV: Sound won't come through TV...

Hello, I just puchased the Sony smart TV 70 inch, but I cannot hear the sound.
I can not select the sound option from the Sony skype app.
But I can hear the sound when I use the video call.

Im having a similar problem my TV has been muted after making a skype call. Its not the speakers. The other inputs have been muted except that apps. tv is the sony 70x850b

PLEASE NOTE: In order to provide the same power output as an original 3 ft Apple USB cable, the housing of our 6.5 ft cables need to be a bit larger. Due to the larger head size, it will not be compatible with some cases that have a smaller charger opening
If that is the case then I am stuck with the Griffin one or just use the original.

The New Mail sound won't play through SoundSticks

After many many years of using Eudora as my E-mail client, I have finally switched to Apple's Mail. So far, so good, EXCEPT for an inability to have Mail's "New Mail" sound play through my SoundStick USB speakers.
I should mention that I use a "dummy plug" plugged into the front headphone jack of my G5 so that I don't have to listen to the startup bong when I turn the computer on. This has never been a problem because I use SoundSticks for my audio and, since the G5 can't "see" the SoundSticks when you first turn the G5 on, no bong through the SoundSticks either. Once the computer is up and running, all audio comes out of the SoundSticks. This is true of all of the alert sounds my Mac makes too. Even the "Send Mail" sound (swooshing plane) plays through the SoundSticks as it should.
But the sound I have selected for "New Mail" (no matter which sound I select) just won't play through the SoundSticks. If I unplug the dummy plug from the headphone jack I can then hear the "New Mail" sound through the internal speaker. But I don't want to hear it that way (and I don't want to permanently remove the dummy plug either).
Why is it that Mail's "New Mail" sound is the ONLY bit of Audio that I've found that WON'T play through my SoundSticks?

Hey there. Not sure if this'll fix your whole problem (ie, the bit about connecting your Yamaha amp and your optical connector) but I think I had the same problem with not getting sound out of the TV. And with a Sony TV about 5 years old too.
The fix was to go to Settings, then Audio & Video, and then turn Dolby Digital to 'Off'.
In theory you should always get sound out of the TV, but these early HDMI Sony TVs have a problem that cuts off Apple TV sound if it's being output to the Optical Dolby Digital port too.
It's a bit of a pain but if you need the sound out of the TV just turn the Dolby Digital on the Apple TV to off, and when you do need it turn it to on - when you get your optical connection to your Yamaha amp going.

HV20 - sound won't play through firewire to system speakers during import

help please - When playing back captured HD footage on my HV20 via a firewire connected to my Dual 2.5 G5, the sound plays through the mini speaker in the camera, and not the large system monitor speakers connected to my computer. Once the footage is transfered to the computer, the clips then play back fine and the sound seems ok. But Is there anyway to get the sound to play through the computer system speakers druring import - it's difficult to properly monitor the import as the sound from the mini speaker on the camera is way out of sync with the visual displayed on the computer during the playback/import process - thanks for your help.

I've been editing video on my Mac for some years now with serveral dfifferent cameras attached via firewire and always up until now, on the HV20, been able to monitor the sound from the video tape in the camera through the computers sound system as I was deciding which clips to import and which to leave alone while playing the video in the camera through the firewire to the computer. I'm able to see the video on the computer in real time, but there is no sound except from the small speaker in the camera and it plays out of sync with the image on my computer monitor, making in and out points of capture less precise.

My iPhone 4 worked fine yesterday an today the sound won't come out of the speakers from music and videos but worked on earphones and without earphones all I can hear is when Someone's calling me

I got it out!
Here is how.
None of the Apple-suggested ways worked. However, before totally giving up I started Roxio Popcorn and pressed the big eject button on it. It came out effortlessly!
So, I thought "Weird..."
I put the CD back in and reproduced my original problem. I got it out just as easily using Roxio Popcorn Eject feature.
So, I then thought "Maybe it is the disk?" There is nothing wrong with the disk as far as I can tell. It is perfectly round, has a smooth label-side surface. It is not even a label, it is a standard software install disk you buy in stores.
I inserted a different disk. The mini mounted it, I browsed it, and then ejected it by dragging it to trash. Worked fine.
I tried a few other disks.
The drive seems to work fine.
Maybe that CD is cursed, I dunno. I tried that disk in my PowerBook and it works fine there.
Who knows ?
I am still backing up my hard drive as I type this message in case I need to take it to the store.

In my situation, the screen simply started exhibiting the same symptoms a few weeks ago (early February) for no apparent reason. At first I thought the screen was dead, but discovered the heat solution by accident. Now I turn it on and keep it from going to sleep until I go to bed. Thank goodness the battery is still awesome on this thing.
I bought it new and still has the original screen, I keep it at home (never below 62 degrees). Coincidentally, this happened a day or two after the expiration of the warranty!! Any help figuring this one out would be eternally appreciated.

Unable to make sound from Keyboard come through monitors.

Basically I have purchased the M-Audio Oxygen 49 Keyboard and I have it plugged in through my USB connection on my Macbook where the input connection is being picked up fine through Logic Pro. However, I want to direct the output sound to go through my Firewire interface to a pair of monitors, but instead the sound just comes out through my Laptop Speakers.
CAN ANYONE HELP?!!
I have set the input - under 'System Preferences' - to come from the 'Line In' port, and the Output to go through my interface.
Is there an option box in Logic that I need to access to fix it or can it not be done?

Just choose your Audio Interface in Logic->preferences->Audio->devices and you will hear sound.
Your USB-Midi keyboard is not producing any sound, it just generates Midi events - all the Audio is produced inside Logic so fiddling around with your System prefs will not do you any good.
So select a Software Instrument, play your keyboard and you'll be fine. The getting started guide might give you a further insight into the basics of Logic.

Ios7 upgrade friends messages won't come through ipad

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Keychain activation code won't come through?

I've been trying to setup keychain for weeks. Everytime I try it asks for my 4 digit passcode which I enter and to sign in which I do. The it says please enter the activation code sent to +44**** ****77. It may take a few minutes for this to arrive.... It never does. Any ideas?

i recently went on holiday for 2 weeks and left my phone switched off and left at home but since ive been back only a few of the messages i received whilst i was away have come through, does anyone know how i can get them all to come through?

The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery whilst the device is powered-on. Leave the battery out for a minute or 2.
See if that resolves the problem. If not, uninstall the recent app addition and pull the battery again afterwards.

That's strange.
You should inky be getting audio from the headphones.
Make sure that they are plugged in all the way.
If they aren't, you will get both audio.
Turn up the volume on your ipad with the buttons.
where it shows the bell, it should say Headphones.
