i have pavilion dv6 notebook My wireless goes off and will not turn back on and my sound constantly goes up and down.can anyone pls tell me the solution for this problem?

Try a Hard Reset as follows.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.

Solved: Attention T510 owners: Audio / sound volume goes up and down

Hi all,
I am a new owner of a T510, and have discovered the audio goes up and down when listening to music through the speakers, running on battery. I would like to get in contact with other T510 owners, who can test if their unit has the same problem - try this:
1. Check all the settings in the SmartAudio control panel (using the newest driver) - making sure no EQ is set, nor VOIP settings or anything like that.
2. Check that no plugin was loaded in the sound control options (I am using Windows 7, 32 bit).
Now try and play this youtube song, and listen to the volume at around 40 seconds when the lead singer begins - does your audio volume go up and then down again when he stops? If you listen to the complete song, it goes up and down some more times.

I can unfortunately now add, that the problem is also there when using the AC adapter. It is so **bleep** annoying the volume fluctuates, and it is VERY easy to hear on the above link. Hoping to hear from other T510 users what their findings is. For information I can tell I am using the power plan called "Maximum Performance", in the power manager from Lenovo. The T510 model is a 4349-4JG.

I have now had time to test it some more, using another HDD (didnt want to reinstall windows on my SSD, hehe) - and can hereby say that it seems to be a bug in the audio driver / SmartAudio control panel. Clean Windows 7, 32 bit, has the problems - but when you disable the VOIP function in the Smart Audio control panel, the problem disappears (actually it was just the VOIP function that was active before). If you then try to enable the VOIP function again, the "problem" does not come back (hence the bug comes into action now). After this test, I put my SSD back into the laptop, and tried to mess with the VOIP functions (again, had already tried to mess with it), and it did not do anything (hence the bug is active now). Therefore I reinstalled the audio driver - tried to check if the problem was there, it was. Then I did the same procedure as on the other HDD, tried to disable the VOIP (before I installed anything else and such!), and the problem is now gone. And the result now is that when I try and enable the VOIP function again, the problem does not come back (hence the bug is now active) = me happy
In short terms:
The bug can either have the VOIP enabled and you can not disable it, or it can be the other way around - it cant be enabled. To "turn" the bug around, reinstall the audio driver :-)

Ive been having this problem with my Compaq CQ60-615DX for almost a year now. When im listening to music I can hear the audio going up and down through it. One sec itll be loud and the next its like the audio being turned down (but the volume bar does not move). I also have SmartAudio with the Conexant High Definition. So, I see that you have figured it out. Ive tried to understand what you said but im not very literate with computers. Could you explain how to stop it step by step? I would appreciate it. Thanks.

The terminology you employ is not accurate. I mean, I don't know what you mean by slide bar or roll bar. If you mean the scroll bar and the scroll wheel, then you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. The sound on my HP Pavilion dv6 goes up and down randomly on its own

Whenever I watch a YouTube video or play my iTunes music my sound goes up and down randomly by itself. It is super annoying. I just bought this laptop a month ago. What is going on? Can I fix this or do I need to take it back?

Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load. Open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again.
Has this made any difference to the issue?

Volume of songs going up and down, how to stop?

Hello! The volume of songs keep going up and down. I have unticked 'Set the same volume for all tracks'. I've checked to see if theres a setting for this in spotify (doesn't seem to be one?) and I've gone through all the processes and killed off anything sound related. Is this something spotify is doing, and if so, how do i turn it off or what version do i downgrade to? Is this in my head? :( A good example is the song gangnam style, where the high's of the song are now lower than the parts that are supposed to be the low parts... it's like someones constantly fiddling with the volume and it's incredibely distracting, and not something I can do my work to. And I need spotify to shut people out at work... Not related: is there any way to get a true random function? Your "intelligent shuffle" algorithm is lovely but malplaced. As it is, I've written a program that randomly sorts playlists, but its just a work-around. /Guy Edit: I may have solved the sound issue. A Hidden HP program was doing something to the volume. Killing it, and then going to Volume Mixer, settings for speakers, and ticking "Disable system effects" solved it. Why would they even add something like this to the pc.

It sounds like you are doing this because the remaining charge time on your battery is going up and down. This is actually very normal. The remaining time is only an estimate based on how you are using your machine at any given time. If you're just browsing web pages, it may say 4 hours... but if you launch a processor intensive game, it may immediately jump down to 2.5 hours. After stopping the game, it may jump back up to 3.5 hours. It's like a car uses gas, the heavier you push it, the more "fuel" it uses.
To get a more accurate number, you should view the battery by percentage instead of time. It will show you the actual percentage (it should not go up and down).

Do a Hard Reset
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

If the sound is still the same, but ok, coming from the bottom Dock connector, then try cleaning the headport, using a jet of air or some electronic cleaner.

I have an iPhone 5 and I've received complaints while on calls that my voice is garbled and the volume of my voice goes up and down as though I've pulled the phone away from my mouth. What I had to was backup my device's data to either iCloud or iTunes. Once it was backed up I erased all of my settings as if my iPad just came out of the box. You set it up again and it will asked you to either start as new, back up from iTunes, or back up from ICloud. If you want to see if everything works you can set up as new, otherwise just pick the choice depending on where you backed up your information. Eventually it will restore all of your information and your iMessage and FaceTime should be working. It worked for me, if you'd like more/better instructions let me know!!

Phone is possessed...ringer volume goes up and down on its own etc. etc.

Recently my iPhone has been doing odd things on it's own, I'll be looking at texts or an app and it'll just close to the home screen or go blank or to the screen for powering down..the ringer volume level goes up and down by itself and sometimes it restarts itself and goes into a restart loop for awhile. It also drops calls and goes to the home screen without even saying call failed.
I have restored the software since this has been happening and it's still does it.

I wish I had a solution (and yours is a fairly recent Mac) but that symptom is similar to those of a failed screen. The repair is often $500-$1000! If you run an external monitor from this iMac, I'd try that to see if the problem goes away. If it is gone, then the screen itself on the iMac has gone bad and you can use an external monitor, they cost about $100 or so. If the lines also show up on an external monitor, then it is likely that your graphics chip has gone bad.
Another thing to try -- boot into safe mode, as safe mode bypasses some of the more advanced graphics hardware. If the screen is ok, you might be able to use your computer in a lower graphics mode.
Another thing to do: run the Apple hardware Test DVD that came with your Mac. It may pinpoint the problem immediately.

USB Hub makes Airport Extreme HDDs constantly spin up and down

Hello there,
I have a new Airport Extreme, (newest model, but not a time capsule). I have discovered that when I plug an external USB HDD into the AE, everything is dandy. But when I use a powered USB hub, the HDDs are constantly spinning up and down. All connected computers are shut down. Nothing is accessing the AE. From my testing it seems to be the powered USB hub that is creating the issue. Has anyone else noticed this? Could it be my hub (Amazon Basics 7 port powered USB hub)? Anyone have any success with a different hub?

It can be a whole lot of stuff interacting.
What are the external disks you are testing with.. as that is just as important as the hub.
I have not had issues using hub.. but I seldom try it.
Powered hubs of low quality (ie standard cheap end, rebadged made in China junk) can have substantial issues with power leaking.. ie it sources power from its own supply or the AE or the drive..
Let me suggest you test one at a time.
Plug in just one disk.. (will the hub work without the power supply plugged in.. some do).. assuming it is not a self powered drive.. see if it is ok by itself.. test each drive.. with the hub powered and unpowered.. tell us what you get.

Sound goes up and down occasionally, sometimes it crackles right before

Sometimes my sound goes low and then comes back up to the normal volume when I am listening to music, watching a show, or watching something on youtube. I'm not sure what is causing it and the online chat person couldn't figure it out. She when into my speaker setup and enabled all the optional speakers (center, subwoofer, rear pair) and then under "full range speakers" she enabled "front left and right" and also "surround speakers" but that didn't help. Any solutions for this?

Did you upgrade to Win 8.1? Try installing this IDT audio driver for Win 8.1.
If this driver does not help then temporarily use a two speaker setup and use the headphone jack on the top of your tower instead of the rear audio out jack. Your rear input/output audio jacks may be failing. If this is true you may have to replace the mainboard.
