Soundblaster 5.1 live 24 bit - Woofer+center probl

hi guys
i just bought a sound blaster li've 24 bit sound card, and i can`t make it sound good on my Philips 5. sound system
the problem i have is with the woofer, i mean i can`t controll the sound that comes out of it at all
and it is not linked with the "center" like it should be
my wofer sound goes up or down when i turn my rear or front up or down
also my center sound very very very low compared to the front and rear
i`m pretty sure the problem is not with my Philips 5. system cuz i had a diffrent sound card before and it worked very good
please help me in any way ... this is very frustrating

i know that my wofer is not linked with my center, cuz when i pull out the black and green jacks and leave only the orange jack in, i can only hear low sound from my center and nothing from the wofer
also like i said the "subwofer" volume slide has absolutely no effect

I think that Creative do not remember about "NO X-fi" users. What do you think about this problem?
When you make a new driver for sb li've 24 bit's There are so many thigs to improve and repair.
It's completly unfair that when Creative make a new card, forget about last cards which maked. This is a very bad politic.

  • SB Live! 24-bit Ext. Probl

    Hi,
I just purchased and installed an SB Li've! 24-bit external today, and I've been having some problems with it.
As it plays music or sounds from my computer, I notice it starts to drag the audio - that is, it seems to skip a few times as if I were opening a program. It's also been staticking out a few times during sounds.
When I try to record into Cakewalk Music Creator Pro 24, I get even more static when I play back my recordings. This could very well be a problem with Cakewalk, but considering SB is giving me problems playing any sound, I thought there's a possibility it could be contributing to this problem as well.
I checked the FAQ and couldn't find an answer to this. Are there any suggestions as to what I can do to have clarity in my audio?
    Thanks a lot.

What have you done that's suggested in the FAQ? What happened?

  • K8N Master-2 FAR and 64 bit Core Center

Has anyone here had any success getting the Core Center to work with XP 64 bit with the 9620 board??  The 32 bit version that ships with the board will not run on 64 bit systems, and the 64 bit version brings up a message that "this application is not compatable with this motherboard" (or something to that effect.)
Is there any utility that can monitor the CPU and board temperatures in XP 64 bit?  I use Photoshop CS2, which tends to push the system rather hard, and it'd be useful to keep track of whether the system is oveheating.  So far I found a third party utility but there's no guarintee that it's reading the sensors correctly.
If both CPU's are staying 35-40 Celcius and the board is around 45, is that unusual?  I've got fans out the wazoo, since this is a production machine and it just has to work.
    Thanks in advance.

okay i installed the officiall driver on your first link. im not interested in extra features at the moment....im more concerned with just getting sound out of all my speakers. i uninstalled the creative driver i had. then i used a utility called Driver Sweeper to get rid of all registry keys, software, etc. i turned off the auto driver install thing, and then rebooted. i ran the setup.exe and it installed everything without errors. i rebooted, and when i came back, i had sound from my sub, my right rear speaker, and my center channel. so its acting as a 2. but instead of having my front right and left being the 2 speakers....my center channel and rear right are acting as my 2 speakers. i have done everything i know to do in order to get sound.
i moved some of the speaker wires that directly into the sub around, and was able to get sound from my front right speaker and center channel, and sub. but all that did was move the sound to another speaker. i still only have 2.. i've changed it to 5. in the Creative Audio Console, as well as the control panel>sound. i am at a loss for what to do. seems like not many are having problems with not getting sound at all. any more help?

  • Soundblaster Audiy Value 2 & Logitech Quickcam Zoom Probl

i recently re-installed my operating system (windows xp) and everything else, incuding the above.
my webcam now records properly during audio messenging etc, the video is fine, but when i do an audio convesation or video conversation in Windows Messenger (the newest version) i get HORRIBLE feedback, so much that i can't even use it anymore.
the same happens during the "test hardward" function in the sounds section of the control panel in windows xp.
FYI it is NOT only in MSN or WINDOWS MESSENGER it is also in the "test hardware" section of the control panel/sounds/voice/test hardware section. and it was working 00% fine before my re-installation of all the programs and the positions of my camera/speakers is the same. i also get the feedback if i DISABLE the soundcard and use the integrated sound card that came with my dell, so it sounds like something minor that needs to be changed on one of the settings (not the volume setting, believe me i have tried that) somewhere, i just can't figure it out.
any suggestions.Message Edited by brucered on 07-23-2006 0:50 AMMessage Edited by brucered on 07-23-2006 02:20 PMMessage Edited by brucered on 07-23-2006 02:22 PM

Yes, it is 64-bit. I tried disabling the previews and the crashes still occurred. I have a dual monitor setup and another thing that caused crashes was trying to use it on the secondary monitor. If I started it there, instant crash. If the preview has successfully started on my primary monitor and I drag it to the secondary one, FMLE crashed also.
At this point these are just informational, as I have resolved the issue. It ended up being a driver issue. We use Logitech Orbit AF webcams in the office and the Windows supplied driver update from the middle of June messed everything up. This was a real pain to get around because every time I reinstalled the drivers Windows overwrote them with their own "improvements". I had to disable their system update and then manually hunt down the update that was for my camera drivers and deny it access to my system.
Ever since then, now that I'm back with real Logitech drivers, everything works again. I hope this information helps other people too. I know how absolutely frustrated I was.

  • X-fi Xtreme gamer, sub woofer & center no sound

    Hi all,
I own a Xtreme gamer and are having problems? with the center speaker and subwoofer (5.), they dont provide any sound.
It used to work allright, untill I did a reformat off my harddisk and a clean install of Vista. Below is a list of things I already tried, Ive got the feeling that I ran out of options. The strangest thing is that I can definetly hear my center speaker turn on when my pc boots, but no sound at all if I go to the config screen and test the speakers. Only rear & front left and right are working.
I tried anything, read alot of posts on this forum and the internet but no solution yet. Does anybody have tips or idea's to solve this ?
    Actions taken :
Format harddri've & clean install Vista including updates and sp. Vista automatically installed the driver. -> No sound from center and subwoofer.<
    Checked cables -> connection ok.<
Updated drivers ->? No sound from center and subwoofer.<
Deinstalled drivers, run a driver cleaner, installed drivers from disk, updated then to the latest drivers. -> No sound from center and subwoofer.<
Deinstalled drivers, took out soundcard from my pc and booted without. Run driver cleaner, rebooted, run driver cleaner again. Installed my soundcard and installed directly latest drivers. -> No sound from center and subwoofer.<

    > i have surround sound only when i play *.acc files but with *.mp3 files it doesnt work
You'll have to enable surround matrix decoding for stereo material. There are several analog encoding standards (Dolby Surround, Dolby ProLogic, Dolby ProLogic II) but Creative's driver doesn't have an official decoder for any of them Instead, they provide their home-grown decoders and call them CMSS or DTS NEO:6. I can only assume they want to dodge Dolby's license payments by not supporting familiar standards. Anyway, you will find the CMSS modes in the driver or, in case of NEO, in their mediasource player. NEO - because it's in a player and not in the driver - is out of reach for other players such as WinAmp or multimedia and TV software.
If you plan to listen to music only, the Creative CMSS matrix decoders ("upmix") might satisfy you. If you plan to watch movies or watch TV, you will find that, with exception of DTS NEO:6, they are not good at all. A ProLogic II decoder sounds much better. If you are lucky, your player has a software ProLogic decoder. For example, WinDVD has one. Unfortunately, in that case the soundcard's high tech DSP - which you payed $$$ for - will not be used at all.
An alternati've solution for non-gamers (for movies and music) is to install the kx driver from the kx project at http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php?language=en
For music, this driver - strangely enough - not only sounds better than Creative's own player, it is also far more configurable. For example, if your center speaker is from a differerent brand than the main speakers, you can put an equalizer before it. Or you can redirect bass from small speakers to larger speakers and not just to the subwoofer, as is the case with Creative's drivers. The options are endless. You can even create totally different configurations for different situations (movie/music/...) and switch on the fly. Other benefits: the driver is very small and very fast, everything happens instantly. However, its user interface is weird and the project lacks documentation. You will need determination on the first day. Afterwards, you will be able to configure your music/movie system to sound far better than with Creative's driver and customize details that simply can not be customized with the official driver. And the best thing: everything will run inside the card's DSP and the computer's CPU is free to do other stuff. Btw, the link above leads you to the last official release. If you read their forum, you will find a more recent beta release from this year.Message Edited by mirko on 0-2-2005 0:22 PM

  • Help I need to locate a driver for my soundblaster live 24 bit soundcard

My son has been given the following PC games for christmas:-
    Command & Conquer 3,
Command & Conquer Red Alert 3,
    Arma; Armed Assault,
    Medal of Honour: Airborne
The problem he is having installing these 4 games is this. About half way through installation an error message appears that quite simply states "The software you are installing does not bear a WHQL signed driver. This software will not be installed".
The PC we are running is a Dell Dimension 900, that we purchased about 4 years ago, and it was bespoke.
I have run DxDiagnostics and it tells me that the driver for the graphics card is called p7.sys and the sound card are not WHQL logo'd, so how the hell do i download a driver for my soundblaster Li've 24 bit, that does? bear a digital signatre that is WHQL Logo'd. I hope you can help, me please.

Re: Help I need to locate a driver for my soundblaster li've 24 bit soundcard? I guess you and your son are currently using windows xp. Well, what you can do is now is ignoring the WQHL pop-up window and choose the "install anyway" option during the installation of the soundcard driver, since WQHL only means the driver is tested by Microsoft and nothing more; drivers without the WQHL qualification does not mean they are bad drivers, they usually works as good as the WQHL ones.
Ofcourse you can also download the official drivers for the mentioned Soundblaster li've 24bit at Creative Labs support/download site.
    here is it:
    [url="http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?MainCategory=&Product=035&dlcentric= 025&Product_Name=Li've%2+24-bit&filetype=&OSName=Windows+XP">Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS and Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit XP and Windows Vista Pack .04.0077 (63.39 MB)?[/url]
The driver is for all Soundblaster Audigy Value, SE, LS and Soundblaster Li've 24bit, since they are all based on the CA-006 soundchip (with other words Creative Labs renamed the soundcard several times). Also this driver should be WQHL-ed (if not, choose "install anyway" option during installation of the soundcard driver). Make sure you have uninstalled the older driver before installing the new one. For troubleshooting use utilies like "Driver Cleaner" or "Driver Sweeper" (google for Guru3D and go to the site and their download section to get the utilities/tools) to clean up the junk files of the older driver that are left in the Windows OS.
    Good luck and Merry Christmas!!!

I recently upgraded my OS to Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit system. I downloaded the beta softwares (webcam driver & cam center) for my Creative Live! Cam Voice & everything looks fine until I run the Creative Live! Cam Center. Right after running the Cam Center & clicking Start it says initializing then my PC screen turns blue with several error message in it. My webcam also doesn't seems to work.

  • Fixed my crackling, popping Soundblaster Live 5.1 Wi

I have had just about all the bad things happen with my soundcard since my reformat of my computer last week. I wanted to do this because my speakers were crackling extremely bad in Half-Life 2. So bad , that I haven't gotten past the first level on this $90.00 Collectors edition game. Problems I ran into trying to install this card.
. Downloaded Uni-driver pack from website= no soundblaster card found
    2. Using my original cd= mixer failed in creative diagnostics (2 other ones failed but I can't recall what they were)
    3. Using the CTzapp.exe ( not sure of the spelling) on the disk=hardware failed on creative diagnostics
    4. Used Kx drivers= sounded great but had a hard time adjusting mic for Teamspeak
    5. Install would get to 95% then reboot my computer for some reason
    6. Crackling sound in Half-Life 2 and in other games, etc.
I think you are getting the picture. I used driver cleaner each time I tried something new. Installed drivers in safe mode. Tinkered with all the settings. Changed IRQ settings in Bios. Changed pci slot the card was in. Was about to give up, but I still had one more option left to try. My friend has a soundblaster Li've 5. card also. I thought I would try his cd. Guess what? It worked.
I noticed during the install, his cd would get done installing the drivers and then it would say updating direct x drivers. Mine never got this far. Also his cd would get all the way done and then ask me to reboot. So I rebooted and low and behold, eveything works. All Creative tests pass, and everything seems good.
Got to thinking, and looking. The uni-driver is dated Feb of 2003. The driver from my cd, when looking in device manager would say June ( 6th I believe) of 2003. His driver says August 28th, 2003. version 5.2..296. I think this is the driver people should try to find if they experience crackling or popping sounds. So far it seems to be working great. Half-li've 2 is crackle free, where as before my computer sounded like a bowl of Rice Crispies.
Anyway I was wondering why the uni-driver is dated older than both drivers on our cds? Also is there a place where maybe users here can download the driver with the 5.2..296 version number on it's It worked great for me. Good luck out there.

I've been struggling with Flash9d.ocx crashes and random BSODsfor a month or so now when playing online videos (youtube, etc) andwhen my daughter plays online flash enabled games. SometimesI've even had BSODs when the pc was just sitting there !!?Turns out the problem was due to a "bum" Soundblaster Li've! 24-bit"driver being distributed via Windows update. After a long night of disabling just about everything on the PCand then one-by-one re-enabling things, I have traced my problemto the SoundBlaster Li've 24-bit driver. I recently updated this driver via Windows Update to a version released in Jul-07(I forget the exact version number).
When I dropped the driver back to the version which came on the OEM diskswith my PC, my problem cleared up. I. am now running version 5.2..35with a date of Jun-9-2004 without an issue. Hope this hel
    ps.
    Mike.

  • Soundblaster live 24bit, distort

    Hi,
just purchased a new computer with a Soundblaster Li've 24 bit. The problem I have is that a while of playing sound the kard starts to produce static crackles and distortion. If I run a cubase project, it's fine in the beginning, but after some minutes, there will be a small scipping of the sound and the static distortion starts to appear. After closing the project and re-opening it again, it works fine for the next few minutes.
Any idea how to fix that?
    Thanks,
    Andreas

Try increasing the playback latency (can be set on software you're using for audio playback).
Try other playback drivers (from MME, DirectSound, WDM, (/WDM/KS (Kernel Streaming), ASIO/). If your audio application is not capable other than MME/DS drivers, then you can try Foobar2k (select the special installation) or MixVibes 6 (demo) (these apps are capable for WDM/KS and ASIO).
If still these issues, try to decrease PCI latency for graphics card (you'll find information on how to do this, by searching this forum).

  • Soundblaster Live and

ASfter installing SoundBlaster Li've 24-bit and the software on the installation CD-rom I should, in my opinion, be able to apply EAX-effects. But there is no difference between playing keyboard (Prodikeys) in the bathroom, concert hall, or cathedral (not to mention the cave) when I use Creative SoundFont Synth (which also came with the soundcard). However, when I use Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth as MIDI output device everything works nice. So, I have to conclude that Creative has designed an EAX system that does not work with their own MIDI output device!! Could anyone comment on this, I am sure I cannot be the only one who has made this astonishing discovery.

<i have that mobo in my other pc and i could never get the onboard sound to work with the augy2 zs at all. it would never show up in device manager when ever i had the augy2 installed. i did talk to a ASUS tech and they told me that you cant run the onboard with a sound card at all. it is automatically disabled vie mobo. some how? he realy didnt go into details about it. but yeah i ended using 2 sound cards on that pc the augy2 zs and a li've 5. 24 bit so i could have my teamspeak usin the 5. and everything else used the augy2. and even now with this new pc i built i cant use the onbaord sound with a sound card. even tho i could use it for a bit tho. it would ened up crashing an the blue screen of death would also happen when i did. so i to now use a usb headset that is for playstation2 since it has its own sound device built in it. but sorry for no good news for ya tho. but other then that , that mobo is a good one tho, the A8V deluxe.
