Soundtoys now available as 64bit AU Plugins

It seems a few people have missed this announcement which is great news for LPX and Soundtoy users... so here is the press release...
"Professional effects plug-in maker SoundToys recently announced the release of SoundToys version 4.2 with 64-bit support for Audio Units and Windows VST formats. The new release covers the full line of real-time native hosted plug-ins.
With this release, SoundToys plug-ins are now compatible with Logic Pro X, Ableton Live 9, Digital Performer 8 on Mac and other 64-bit Audio Unit hosts. SoundToys now supports 64-bit VST hosts such as Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, and Ableton Live 9 on the PC. [Speed for Logic X is still in development.]
Pricing and Availability. The upgrade to SoundToys version 4.2 is available, free of charge, for all registered SoundToys V4 users, all Boutique Series owners (Devil-Loc, Radiator, Little MicroShift, etc) and the installers can be found in your Soundtoys account."
Please note: I am not connected with Soundtoys in any way. I am simply posting this here as useful information for LPX users...

Is it perhaps because of a clash between a stereo only plugin and a mono aux channel?

Note: According to the download site, the latest MediaSource plugins require you to have at least v3.20.57 of Creative MediaSource.

Thanks micromouse
... but there's no new plugin for the original Jukebox

If you wish to use the Eclipse IDE Software Updater:
1. Start Eclipse 3.4.1 (Gemini) IDE.
2. Select Help -> Software Updates...
3. Select the "Available Software" tab.
4. Click the "Manage Sites..." button.
5. If you do not see the following URL listed:
http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreportsforeclipse/2_0/update_site/
then click "Add..." and add it.
6. Select the above URL in the "Available Software Sites", then click "OK".
7. The Available Software should now list the above URL. Open the node, and you should see "Crystal Reports for Eclipse".
8. Check all checkboxes for "Crystal Reports for Eclipse", and "Install..."
After successful update, you'll see version 2.0.1 listed in Help -> About Eclipse SDK and clicking on the "Crystal Reports for Eclipse" icon (blue swoosh with green diamond).
If you don't see that version listed, here's some troubleshooting tips:
Open a web browser, and Go to the following URL:
http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreportsforeclipse/2_0/update_site/site.xml
You should get back a XML file listed the current CR4E plugin and language packs versions. If you get an error instead, it may be because (1) you're in a locked down environment that won't let you access that site, or (2) the CR4E Update Site may be down for maintenance. If the former, you'll have to download the updates by some other means and upgrade manually.

• Kodo JDO 2.5.0 beta now available

All,
Kodo JDO 2.5.0 beta 1 is now available at:
http://solarmetric.com/Software/beta/2.5.0/
Some notable new features since 2.4 include:
- Queries have received a major overhaul. Queries now support unbound
variables, Collections as parameters to generate SQL IN (...) clauses,
traversing fields of persistence-capable parameters, and more. The SQL
produced by queries is also much more efficient.
- Kodo JDO EE can now participate correctly in XA transactions.
- Kodo JDO now includes support for custom fetch groups.
- Queries and Extents can be constructed for interfaces.
- Multi-table mappings now permit different tables to have different
primary key column names.
- The data cache framework can now cache query results.
Known issues:
- The JCA resource adapter will not seamlessly work with WebLogic -- to
use it with WebLogic, it is necessary to unzip the kodo.rar and remove
empty config-param-value elements
(i.e. <config-properrty-value></config-property-value>).
- We have done only limited integration testing with our IDE plugins.
- Cached query results do not obey the timeouts configured for the classes
in the query's access path.
As usual, please discuss any issues, desires, etc. on the beta newsgroup:

Stephane & Alex-
Kodo 4.0.0 ships with the final JDO 2.0 jars, but it is not yet a
complete JDO 2 implementation.
We do still intend to complete JDO 2 compliance in the near future, but
as of 4.0.0, Kodo is still officially a JDO 1 product.

We posted additional details on John Nack's blog:
http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2010/06/photoshop-cs5-update-12-0-1-now-available.html
Specific to this crowd, there are some fixes to AppleScript support in the update.

Is there an "official" response for this yet? I am also experiencing problems with scripting on
Win 7 64bit (even using CreateObject instead of COM references in project). Am wondering (

• Kodo JDO 2.3.4 now available

All,
Kodo JDO 2.3.4 is now available at http://www.solarmetric.com/. This release
contains a number of bugfixes and a couple enhancements to the reverse
schema tool.
New features
* The schema generator can now accept a list of tables to generate.
* The reverse mapping tool has additional options for using foreign
key names to generate relation names, generating primitive wrapper-type
fields if a column is nullable, and allowing primary keys on many-to-many
join tables.
Bugfixes
* Fixed problems with many-to-many relations between tables that use
vertical inheritance.
* Fixed bug in schematool that caused it to not generate primary key
columns in subclass tables when using datastore identity + custom
names + vertical inheritance.
* Fixed serp library conflict between reverse mapping tool and main Kodo
libraries.
* Fixed a reverse mapping tool bug in which column names that conflicted with
Java keywords would result in the generation of uncompilable Java classes.
* Fixed problem that caused read-only flag to be ignored in many-to-many
relations.
* Multi-table inheritance deletes are now performed from the leaf table
in the inheritance chain up to the base table. Inserts are performed
from the base table down to the leaf. This supports the common
referential integrity model of establishing a foreign key relation
from inherited tables to their parent tables.

• Kodo 3.1.0 Final Now Available

All,
Kodo 3.1.0 is now available! Get your copy while supplies last at
http://www.solarmetric.com/Software/Evaluate/ !
This is a significant new release with much enhanced functionality.
Highlights of 3.1.0 include:
- Added the ability to use Kodo from remote client machines communicating
with a persistence manager server.
- Kodo now supports the "horizontal" O/R inheritance model, where each leaf
of the inheritance hierarchy is mapped to a separate table.
- Sigificantly improved technology preview of Kodo Management / Monitoring
capability based on JMX.
- Added an abstract store manager, which is a building block for allowing
you to add support for non-relational data stores that Kodo does not
support. Includes an example using XML.
- Made major improvements to the Kodo Development Workbench, including more
powerful visualization and editing of mapping information.
- Added object locking APIs to the KodoPersistenceManager for fine-graned
control over object locking.
- Added custom lock group support, allowing field-level optimistic locking
granularity.
- Made many improvements to the Eclipse plugin.
- Made numerous performance optimizations, including improvements to
statement batching, query compilation caching, and more.
- Kodo now uses its own logging framework by default instead of the Commons
Logging framework.
There are a number of additional new features, notable changes and bugfixes.

Note that there is a one-step upgrade process from 3.0. Kodo 3.1 uses
its own internal logging facilities by default. If you want to use the
same logging facilities (log4j, 1.4 logging, or whatever else you were
using), set the kodo.Log property like so:

• [Update: Version 0.0.2 now available]Noteo - system tray notifications

After being frustrated with the lack of non-gnome-dependant system tray 'widgets' for things like email and battery monitoring, I decided to have a bash at creating my own, initially only to notify me of system updates, but I realised that I could use the same place to display other things.
Main changes: plugins can now be installed system wide as well as locally, meaning modules can be packaged in the AUR.
Configuration files are now in ~/.config/noteo/ which is much tidier.
Coming soon:
Module which replaces notification daemon - I just need to tidy up the code and package it.
Update: 0.0.2 now available
Version 0.0.2 is in the AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=15952
some plugins are also in the AUR:
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=16032
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=16033
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=16034
or can be downloaded from sourceforge
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile … _id=268802
As you can see in the status bar, when a 'module' want to tell you something, it flashes an icon in the system tray. If there is only one module wanting your attention, it flashes for about 10 seconds, then just displays that icon.
When there is more than one module wanting your attention, it switches to a generic icon. Hovering over the icon will describe which modules are attempting to notify you
If there is only one module active, clicking on the icon will bring up that module's dialog, if there is more than one module active, you will be shown which modules are wanting your attention.
You can also usually bring up the module's dialog by right clicking on the icon and choosing the appropriate menu option:
New feature: module authors can add icons to the right click menu
Noteo by itself has almost no functionality - it acts as a framework into which modules can 'plug-in'. 'Modules' are simple to make, and I hope that some of you will write some/improve mine.
To configure the modules, edit the module configuration files which will be generated on first run and placed in ~/.config/noteo/
Hope this is of some use to someone.
For those wanting to make new 'modules', maybe take a look at the source to the GmailCheck module, which is hopefully quite self-explanatory.

New alerts do not appear on the screen. The 'windows' in the screenshot are what appears when you click on the icon and a module wants your attention. New alerts cause the icon in the tray to change to whatever that module specifies e.g. on low battery, the 'BatteryStatus' module shows your icon theme's battery-critical icon (flashing initially and then becoming static - if there is more that one module wanting your attention, a generic icon is then shown)
Edit: actually the battery module does display a dialog box when the battery is critical, asking the user whether they want to hibernate or not, however this can be turned off. Noteo itself does not display dialogs, the modules can if they so desire. In future releases I do plan to implement something like libnotify notifications which the user can choose to activate. Also I am coding a module for noteo which can replace notification daemon.

MEI Portico lets publishers create custom branded UIs for their mobile and tablet apps on Apple, Google Android, and Amazon Kindle Fire platforms. Custom storefronts enable multiple gateways for showcasing user-targeted tablet content within the app. App administrators can enable search capabilities and organize their DPS folios as they see fit, so that navigation is easy and readers can effortlessly find the issues they want or are entitled to. Portico allows publishers to override in-app purchases for authenticated subscribers, and enables restricted distribution capabilities for corporate and educational institutions using Adobe DPS as part of their digital communications strategy.
MEI Portico 2.0 introduces custom canvases to the original Portico toolbox. Rather than having to rely on templates for their storefront’s landing view, designers can now create their own HTML designs to incorporate into an MEI Portico-driven interface. Using web design skills, designers have full control over every aspect of their app’s look and feel — from storefront layout to images, login pages to RSS or social media feeds, subscriber views to featured folios. And because administrators can launch canvases at a moment’s notice, implementing new features into your app can be completed without a time consuming app update.
"Custom canvases mean that DPS apps can take advantage of Portico’s robust feature set without compromising their brand’s look and feel," said Brett Kizner, MEI's director of new product marketing. "Portico 2.0 has delivered greater flexibility with the ability for our customers to design their own app experience on their app landing page."

• Photoshop CC 2014.1 update now available

The Photoshop CC 2014.1 update now available.
Today we are releasing an update to Photoshop CC that includes new 3D printing features and enhancements designed to make it easier to create beautiful 3D printed designs and give you more printing options.
For more details on the release, see this announcement on the Photoshop team blog:http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotco...
The update also includes several fixes, including fixing an issue with Edit In Photoshop not working from Lightroom and Photoshop commands missing from Bridge Tools menu.
Getting the update:
Look for the update in the Creative Cloud application and click “Update”. If it doesn’t appear, you may need to quit and re-launch the Creative Cloud application.
If you don’t have the Creative Cloud application running, start Photoshop and choose Help > Updates.
The Adobe Application Manager will launch. Select Adobe Photoshop CC (2014) and choose Update.

After some search, I found this clear part of the logs:
09/27/14 16:55:25:234 | [INFO] | | UPDATER | CORE | | | | 6760 | CFU(Webfeed): Query licensing type for LEID = V7{}Photoshop-15-Win-GM
09/27/14 16:55:26:015 | [INFO] | | UPDATER | CORE | | | | 6760 | A valid perpetual license found for = V7{}Photoshop-15-Win-GM
09/27/14 16:55:26:077 | [INFO] | | UPDATER | CORE | | | | 6760 | CFU(Webfeed): Patch is meant only for subscription licenses, but client doesn't have a valid subscription license.
09/27/14 16:55:26:077 | [INFO] | | UPDATER | CORE | | | | 6760 | CheckForManualApplicableUpdates : default Locale was found to be---- = en_US
09/27/14 16:55:26:077 | [INFO] | | UPDATER | CORE | | | | 6760 | CheckForManualApplicableUpdates : The update is not applicable as per licensing checks
It means the update for Photoshop 2014.1 and 2014.2 can only be installed with subscription licenses, but not on perpetual licenses (our case).
To workaround that, it would be needed to change
<TargetLicensingType>1</TargetLicensingType>
to
<TargetLicensingType>3</TargetLicensingType>
inside "UpdateManifest.xml"
But it would broken the signature of that file as recorded in "UpdateManifest.sig"
As an information, technically we have
LicenseType 3 LicenseStatus 1 , mapped LEID V7{}Photoshop-15-Win-GM
Finally, I think only Adobe can fix this mess with PS update.
