Source Field in End Routine of DSO Transformation

Hi,
I made a transformation from source DSO to Target DSO.
There are 7 fields in source & 6 fields in target..All the 6 fields are one to one mapped from the source to Target
I need to write a simple ABAP Logic in End Routine based on the 7th source field which is not mapped.
Please let me know the piece of ABAP code or steps where i can get the value of Source table in End routine

  • Added fields not appearing in the DSO transformations.

    Hi,
I have added three new info objects into data fields in the DSO then activated and not appearing added fields in the transformations.
    Please suggest me,
    regards,
    Jayapal.

    Hi Jayapal,
i dont know whether it would help you...you can give a try on it.
Instead of deleting the Transformation, just delete the mappings if any in the transformation.
Goto DS->Fields Tab-->In the Column Template info Object. Try mapping corresponding IO with the Source IO.
Then it will show a pop up give Copy . Activate the DS.
Goto Info Provider>Select the Transformation> If it is active-->reactivate it by clicking the Pencil Icon with glass and click activate icon.
If its not active, then reactivate it again by clicking the Pencil Icon with glass.
Let me know if it Works... Cheers

  • Filling Data fields of a DSO in End Routine

    Hi Everyone,
The data fields of a DSO contains 2 key figures and a characteristic.
In the End routine of the transformation, i have assigned constant values for the infoobjects in the data field.
After executing the DTP, if I check in the New Table of the DSO, these constant values are present.  But when I activate the DSO, the values for key figures gets initialised and the values for the characterisitic becomes empty (NULL).
Is it not possible to assign values for the infoobjects in the data field? If so, why is this limitation?
    Thanks in advance,
    Uma

    Uma,
To populate any field in the end routine, you have to assign some constant in the transformation first and then re-populate them using the end routine.
Sometimes if you dont assign any constant in transformation, the values remain initial and even after you write a code fo that field, it is not populated in the end routine.
All you have to do is assign constant 0 to the key figures you are populating in the end routine and run the DTP again.
    Thanks
    Sachin

  • Start & End Routines in BI 7  Transformations

    Hi,
    In Transformations from DSO1-->DSO2
In Start Routine for all entries in Source Package i read some fields from DSO3 and filled an iternal table
And  in end routine i read the iternal table and filled the result package/fields
In the mapping i haven't mapped any thing to the fields to which i intended to fill using routines
When i executed data load those fields are not populated with any value
But if i debug the transformation...results are updating in all fields in the  result package.......
Do i need to make any setting or mappings to the fields which i want to update using end routine
    Thanks

    HI,
For support pack 16 and above you get one more button besides End Routine (once end routine is created).
This button is to update behaviour of fields in End Routines. You get two options once you select this button. One needs to make selection of proper option as it is mandatory.
The default setting for the pushbutton is that only the fields with active rules are updated in the transformation. With this selection, fields populated in End routine wont be updated in the data target if no active rule exists for them in Transformation.
Alternatively, you can define that all the fields should always be updated by selecting 2nd radio button. As a result, fields filled in the end routine are not lost if there is no other active rule.
So in your case if you are in SP 15 or lower, then you will have to map the fields.
Go through this article it gives the above explanation along with screenshots.

  • End Routine in Transformation

    Hi Experts,
We have a scenario wherein we need to write END Routine in the transfromation between  two cubes. While doing so we need to Look up at a DSO to fetch Financial Document Number.
    Details:
We will be loading the Invoice data from 0LIV_DS01 ODS to the target cube ZLIV_DS01. We have a field called Invoice Clearing Date(0clear_date) in the target cube which is not present in this  0LIV_DS01 ODS. We have Invoice clearing date in the second cube(ZCSOINV). We need to write an END routine in the transformation between ZCSOINV and the target cube.
We need to select Financial Document Number from Active table of 0liv_ds01 ods and store it in an internal table.
Then compare this Financial Document Number with the Financial Document Number in the ZCSOINV cube. If there a match we need to select 0clear_date from ZCSOINV cube and assign it to result package.
Please let me know what code needs to be written to achieve the above requirement in End Routine. Thanks
    Regards,
    Kavitha Jagannath

In order to read the info cube you can use this function module: RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ
This is the link in order to help you to use that function :
    /people/dinesh.lalchand/blog/2006/06/07/reading-infocube-data-in-updatetransfer-rules
SAP also have the demo about it:
You can open it in this program : RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ_DEMO
    1. go to tcode : se38
    2. type : RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ_DEMO then execute it.

  • End routine  not workind when DSO Activated

I have code in End routine of the transformation to populate a date field (from sales header to  sales line item to have the assocaited date to populate for each line item ) to the DSO.
The code works and displays data being populated in new data table before DSO actiavtion but when DSO is activated, the particular  field is blank.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Your answer is explained in the below link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_smehp1/helpdata/en/48/6e375c0b104e6de10000000a421937/content.htm
this is happening because of the "Update behaviuor in end routine".
It has two options - only fields with active rule(Default) & All fields.  Since the default setting is that the end routine is active for fields which have and active rule for it and not for other so for the field for which u have written the code is not having any active transformation thats why its not giving any value after activation.
Please change the properties, for how to set this option chcek the link.
    Thanks

  • Fields populated by end routine

    Hi Colleagues,
When you create an end routine in the transformation.
Which rule type do you put on the Target infoobject which will be populated by the end routine.
For my side, I put rule type as constant without any value put in the constant field.
Is it the only way ? Or is there another proper solution ?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
We have standard way to do this.
    Go to your Transformation.
In transformation Screen, next to End Routine button we will have delete ICON. Next to Delete Icon there is one ICON (Update Behaviour of End Routine).
Inside that you could find 2 Radio Button. By default 1st RB will be selected. Change it by selecting 2nd Radion Button.
    Functionality of this setting:
If the 1st Radio Button is selected, then the END ROUTINE will applicable only for the Active fields in your transformation. Active field means, it has to be mapped with some field from source or some dummy constants.
If the 2nd Radio Button is selected, then the END ROUTINE is applicable for all the target fields (Both Active and Inactive).
    Regards,
    Jackie.

  • End Routine is NOT modifying the DSO with new data after load into that DSO

    Hi all,
I am creating an End Routine for DSO to populate a field ZFCMP_FLG (to store 'Y' ) with lookup from another DSO ZMDS_D01. This new field shows blank instead of 'Y', after activating the DSO. The RESULT_PACKAGE record is populated with 'Y' for ZFCMP_FLG  while debugging that End Routine and why it is NOT writing the modified records into DSO, please ? It is a Characteristic InfoObject with length 1 to store 'Y'. The following is some part of the code:
    DATA: wa_fcmp_flag   TYPE c VALUE 'Y'.
    LOOP AT RESULT_PACKAGE ASSIGNING <RESULT_FIELDS>.
READ TABLE it_zmds_d01 INTO wa_zmds_d01 WITH KEY
                    /BIC/ZAUFNR    = <RESULT_FIELDS>-CS_ORDER
                    NOTIFICATN     = <RESULT_FIELDS>-NOTIFICATN  BINARY SEARCH.
         IF sy-subrc = 0.
           <RESULT_FIELDS>-/BIC/ZFCMP_FLG = wa_fcmp_flg.
        ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    Thanks,
    Venkat.

    hi...
Since you are using Field symbol to loop the internal Table there is no need to use the MODIFY Statement in the loop.
So your code is correct only.
But here you have to check the status of READ TABLE command in the debug mode.
it may be failing that's why the RESULT_PACKAGE is not getting modified.
    Plz check it.
Note: You may need to SORT the Int Table since you are using BINARY SEARCH. check below.
    DATA: wa_fcmp_flag   TYPE c VALUE 'Y'.
    Sort it_zmds_d01 by  /BIC/ZAUFNR    NOTIFICATN  .
    LOOP AT RESULT_PACKAGE ASSIGNING <RESULT_FIELDS>.
READ TABLE it_zmds_d01 INTO wa_zmds_d01 WITH KEY
                    /BIC/ZAUFNR    = <RESULT_FIELDS>-CS_ORDER
                    NOTIFICATN     = <RESULT_FIELDS>-NOTIFICATN  BINARY SEARCH.
         IF sy-subrc = 0.
           <RESULT_FIELDS>-/BIC/ZFCMP_FLG = wa_fcmp_flg.
        ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.

  • End routine to populate Info-cube.

    Hi ,
Is it possible to load fileds of a Info-cube using End routines in the following scenairos.
1.Loading fields of info-cube by referencing/using a master data table in End routine.
2.Loading fields of info-cube by referencing/using a DSO fields  in End routine.
3.Loading fields of info-cube by referencing/using a fields of another info-cube in End routine.
    Please advise.

    Hi Stalin,
Before answering your question you need to understand something about "End routine" and "Expert routine".
    End Routine:
    - Result_fields and Result_package are available
    - End routine contains only those fields available in Data target.
    Start Routine:
    - Source_fields and Source_package are available
    - Start routine contains only those fields coming from source.
    Expert Routine:
    -  Source_fields, Source_package, Result_fields and Result_package are available
So Now if you want write code to look up into some other cube, in look up you may need to test condition using source fields, in that case " Expert Routine" is only the option.
    For Ex
my data target contains : x,y and z fields (it becomes result_field)
    source contains : a field ( it becomes source_field)
now if i want to write look up code like this " select x,y and z fields from other cube where my a field value = other cube a field value. here u r accessing both S_F as well as R_F. So only the option is "EXPERT ROUTINE"
or else u want to write code only with R_F then "End routine " is enough.
    Thanks,

  • Thumbrule for Start/End Routines Usage

    Friends,
Is there any thumb rule to decide when to use start or end routine in BW 7 in transformations ?  Can anybody provide a scenario for demonstration .. from performing simple lookups on different DSOs to get descriptions vs any other specific scenarios..   Is there any scenario in which only start or only end routine can be performed.. ?
    Any thoughts would be great..?
    thanks,
    Sunil

Start routine is totally concerned with source data , where you need to write logic for source_package.
Start routine will execute before transformation execution.
    Executes packageby package.
    loop at source_package into source-feilds.
End routine works on target structure  and we have lo write logic on result_package.
Genarally dso lookups are concerned with end routines.
    loop at result_package into result-feilds.

  • Infoobject routine problem in transformation using BI 7.0 datasource

    Hi expert,
We have the business senario:need to look up data from Active data of DSO: /BIC/AZIN_O0100 into infoobject ZN1 in DSO:AAA through the link ZNR. We have the code, but after DTP, there are blank value in infoobject ZN1 in the content of DSO:AAA. Anyone can guide us why we get the blank in the value.

  • End Routine Code not Working after Support Pack Upgrade

    Hi BI Community,
We have recently upgraded to SPS17 (BW SP19) for our production system and the code deriving the values of several attributes in the end routine of the transformation for one InfoObject (as info provider) does not work anymore. We have been trying to identify the root cause but the fact is that we did not change anything to the InfoObject and its transformation and this used to work fine. The strange thing is that when we debugged the code we could see the value of the aforementioned attributes was derived correctly but the value is just not updated to the InfoObject where we still see the old values for these attributes.
We have a similar InfoObject with the same end routine code in the transformation and it is working fine. We are out of idea what could have caused this during the SP upgrade.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
    Regards,
    Peter

Cannot say what might have caused it but one check you can perform.
Open your transformation in change mode and you can see a button next to create end routine button, titled ' Update Behavior of End Routine Change', click on that and say all fields.
    Hope it helps...

    Ashish

  • End routine Works fine but missing some records while updating to cube.

    Hi All
I have an issue here... My End routine works fine and I even debugged by putting the breakpoint and It fetches data from dso. strangely when I run my DTP the load is successful but I can see some of the records are missing. but there is data in dso and also when i debug the code it fetches the values for particular fields.
My requirement is I have a cube 'A' and under it DSO1 and  I need six more fields from dso2. Now I made a look up for these six fields in End routine. My routine works fine and so the DTP Is Green. My issue is I cant see these six fields updated for some of the records.
PLZ put some light on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Naveen & Jaya
Thanks for your quick response. Below is my code logic in end routine.
    METHOD end_routine.
    *=== Segments ===
        FIELD-SYMBOLS:
          <RESULT_FIELDS>    TYPE tys_TG_1.
        DATA:
          MONITOR_REC     TYPE rstmonitor.
$$ begin of routine - insert your code only below this line        -
    ... "insert your code here
data: lv_result_package like line of RESULT_PACKAGE,
          l_tabix type sy-tabix.
    loop at RESULT_PACKAGE into lv_RESULT_PACKAGE.
       l_tabix = sy-tabix.
    Update lot/decision attributes Lot/Decision ( ZQM_O04 ) DSO
       read table itab_qm_o04 into itab_qm_o04_wa
           with key insp_lot = lv_result_package-insp_lot.
       if sy-subrc = 0.
         lv_result_package-ivaluation = itab_qm_o04_wa-ivaluation.
         lv_result_package-catcode_ud = itab_qm_o04_wa-catcode_ud.
         lv_result_package-catgrp_ud = itab_qm_o04_wa-catgrp_ud.
         lv_result_package-/bic/zcattp_ud = itab_qm_o04_wa-/bic/zcattp_ud.
         lv_result_package-/b41/s_usuddate = itab_qm_o04_wa-/bic/gqmuddat.
         lv_result_package-/b41/s_usudcdate = itab_qm_o04_wa-/bic/gqmudcdt.
       endif.
       modify RESULT_PACKAGE FROM lv_RESULT_PACKAGE INDEX l_tabix.
    endloop.
Well based on the insp_lot in ZQM_O03( DSO1) the logic above gets the six fields from ZQM_O04(DSO2) and feeds the cube.
The Insp_lot has multiple records in DSO1 based on specific characteristic and so the cube. This Logic gets all these six fields
from DSO2 which has single record per insp_lot and feeds the cube which has multiple records on insp_lot based on a specific characteristic. For some reason some of the records are not been updated to cube.
    waiting for your valuable response.....
    Thank You,

    Hi gurus!!
I'm facing the following problem. I need to have a Virtual Provider based on DTP based on a DataSource from a view of a table. But I want to do a end routine in the transformation rules. When I use the end routine, my filters don't work (always give al the information). If I don't use the end Routine (or start Routine) I can do filters work perfect.
    Any suggestions for this problems.

  • No data in Active table of DSO for fields populated by End Routine

    Hi,
I have a Standard DSO where we are populating few fields by using End Routine.
Last week we added 5 more fields to DSO and wrote a logic in End ROutine to populate the DSO. These new fields dont have any mapping and these are just populated by end routine only.
When I loaded the data from Data Source TO DSO, Data is loaded correctly into NEW DATA Table of DSO for all the fields. I could see correct data as per the logic in NEW Table including old and new fields.
However, when I activate the DSO, I could not find the data for new fields which I added last week. Remaining fields are getting data as per the logic. Only these five fields are not having any data.
Can you please let me know if any one had similar issue. I was under impression that all the data in the new table will go to Active table when we activate the DSO.
    Your inputs are highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Krishna

What version of BW are you using?  When editing your end-routine, a pop-up should display saying which fields you want populated/transferred from the end routine.  This pop-up will not display if you are using a lower version of BW 7.x.  To get around this, make sure that your newly added fields have a transformation rule type set to constant.  This will make sure that the fields get populated when transferring from new to active tables.
