SP2-0310

Hello All,
One of my Customer has 4 DB Servers with 11.2.0.2 binaries installed.  When they run sqlplus / as sysdba on two of these servers the following error is encountered
SP2-0310: unable to open file "sqlprompt.sql"
The following document was tried but to no avail.
Running a SQL Script with Permissions set to 600 Fails with SQL*Plus Client Installed on UNIX [ID 1161443.1]
Any pointers would be of great help
Thanks,
Anand

Hi, Anand,
I'm not familiar with an Oracle-supplied file called sqlprompt.sql.
Could it be a typo in a login.sql file, that says "@sqlprompt ..." instead of "SET sqlprompt ..."?
Does everything seem to work normally after you get the error?
Does the same error occur when you login as SYSTEM, or SCOTT, or any other schema?

  • How to store SP2-0310: unable to open file errors in log file

We are using oracle 10g on Linux platform.
When we send scripts to the clients, then we also send a control file that executes all the sql files e.g.
    control.sql
    SPOOL test.log
    SELECT 'Start of Control File at:'||systimestamp from dual;
    SPOOL OFF
    @./dbscripts/00_insert_scripts.sql
    SPOOL test.log APPEND
    SELECT 'End of Control File at:'||systimestamp from dual;
SPOOL OFFThe scripts are executed from SqlPlusW only by typing @control.sql
The problem is that when SP2-0310: unable to open file error comes, it appears on the screen only. It does not go in the test.log file. Is there any way to store these errors in a file from SQLPlusW.
    Thanks.

    try mentioning full path....
    try
    @<fully qualified path>/00_insert_scripts.sql
also check if the file has necessary permission
    ls -l <fully qualified path>/00_insert_scripts.sql

  • SP2-0310 trying to upgrade PL/SQL Web Toolkit on 10g XE

    Hi,
I upgraded my local Oracle 10g XE APEX installation to version 4.0.2.00.06 but then I realized that I probably also needed a newer version of the PL/SQL Web Toolkit.
So I changed my path to the owa folder and then I executed owainst.sql connected with SYS as SYSDBA.
    This is the output:
    SQL> @owainst.sql

SP2-0310: unable to open file "&owa_file_var.sql"

    Thanks,

Found the solution to my problem...
I had "set define off" in my glogin.sql file :-) So the script couldn't replace the & variables...

    Hi!
The SP2-0310 error occurs when you have not fully-qualified the PATH to the file.  Rather than rely on a variable, specify the fully-qualified path.

  • Error: sp2-0310 unable to open file c:\desktop\oracle\table.sql

I am not able to open any files that I have downloaded and put into a file path. I keep getting the error sp2-0310 unable to open file. I made sure to save my files in a path with no spaces. What can I do to resolve this error message.
    Thanks.

As already said, you need to verify you've really got the correct path. After that, you can also check to see that the file name is really table.sql. If you created the file in a simple text editor, sometimes the editor will append .txt to the file name. But if you have "Hide Extensions" turned on in Windows Explorer, then you wouldn't see the .txt extension. Check the file name and make sure it really is as you think and doesn't have another extension on it.
Finally, how are you trying to use the file in SQL*Plus? If the path and file name are correct, you should be able to do this:
    SQL> get c:\desktop\oracle\table
and it should bring up the file into the SQL*Plus buffer. Or, you should be able to use:
    SQL> @c:\desktop\oracle\table
to execute the contents of the file.
    If you are simply using:
    SQL> @table
then you could add the SQLPATH environment variable to point to c:\desktop\oracle and that would allow you to skip entering the path.
    Hope this helps,
    Karen

The file is located in $ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin. If you do not

SP2-0310: unable to open file "sso/ssoseedp.sql"

    Thanks,

It appears that ssodatax in your environment is unable to find the script ssoseedp.sql. This script should be available in plsql/sso directory under the ORACLE_HOME. Please find the script ssodatax and look for the sso subdirectory within the directory that contains ssodatax. If you find ssoseedp.sql in sso, then you can try running ssodatax from the directory that contains it.

  • Manually Migrating from Oracle 10g to 11g

Hello, I'm currently a student in an Oracle DBA class. I'm totally new to the Oracle world.
One of our final assignments concerns upgrading Oracle instances without the use of DBUA.
I've currently got Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 and am trying to upgrade to 11.1.0.7.0
This is all inside of VirtualBox, running Windows Server 2008. I've been using 10g with absolutely no issues for the duration of this class.
I successfully installed 11g, choosing to install the software only and not use dbua.
I changed my environment variables to point towards the 10g installation; ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, PATH, and LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
Then logged into 10g's SQLPlus and ran utlu111i.sql, which ran successfully. I issued a shutdown immediate and exited SQLPlus.
Changed my environment variables to point towards the 11g home and set ORACLE_SID as the 10g database name. I was able to log into 11g's SQL plus, was told I was connected to an idle instance, which I expected. I issued a startup upgrade command, and then attempted to run catupgrd.sql, but got an error stating that I had to run the script from 11g.
If I don't set the environment variables then when I try to log into 11g's sqlplus, I get an ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error... I've tried reinstalling 11g from scratch, but to no avail. My instructor and I have been emailing back and forth frequently over the past few days but we have not been able to reach a solution, so I thought I would see if I could pick your brains.
Here's all of the terminal output from the process:

Your instance is started from the 10g ORACLE_HOME. You mentioned you started it from the 11g ORACLE_HOME but it's not the case.
    Here is an example with a 10gR2 database started from a 11gR2 ORACLE_HOME :

  • How to change the default directory from within SQL*Plus ?

    Hello,
I want to change the default directory directly from within SQL*Plus to be able to launch my command files with simple instructions like :
    @my_command.sql
If I haven't launched SQL*Plus from the directory containing the file my_command.sql, how do I change the default directory to the directory of my command files ?
I've searched through the Oracle documentation, there's no SET DEFAULTDIR or something like that. When I do a SHOW ALL, there's no variable containing the default directory.

    Hi guys,
I've got a problem and try'n to solve it for abt a week now and tried many solutions.

    AMD Phenom II x4 940 @3.0 GH
4 GB RAM (In Usage while installing 40%)
Windows-Firewall is activated (but oracle.exe and lstnr.exe are configured as exception)
    avast! Free Antivirus Version 2014.9.0.2018
Installation (both times with same outcome):

Started installation via rightclick with administrationprivileges
I activated the administrators account and logged in with adminprivileges.
After that I've installed the 11g XE 64 bit
between both steps I cleaned everything up and restarted my system, registry was empty too and folder was deleted manually

following subdirectories are installed: KEY_XE, ODP.NET, OracleMTSRecoveryService
What I tried (both ways, starting with and without adminstrationprivileges):
I created two new DWORD-Values in KEY_XE ORACLE_SID_AUTOSTART and -SHUTDOWN both with the value True and stopped and started the services, nothing changes.
Inserted both users (Administrator and normal User) in ORA_DBA-Group, nothing changes, even tried to turn it off and on again
wanted to connect to sqlplus via console:
    C:\Windows\system32>sqlplus system
    SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.2.0 Production on Di Nov 4 18:09:21 2014

    Enter password:

    Enter user-name:
when I start the sqlplus-prompt directly and write the command startup I get the following msg: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
I looked into the ORA_BASE-Folder and looked at the oradat folder, it contains a XE-Folder which is empty, the admin-folder contains: XE/ and adump, dpdump and pfile, all three are empty (what does this mean? No DB at all created?)
    I watched the ORA_HOME-Folder and found initXE.ora, oradba.exe, oradim and PWDXE.ora
    I looked into the oradim.txt-Log:
    Tue Nov 04 11:21:17 2014
C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\bin\oradim.exe -shutdown -sid xe -usrpwd * -shutmode immediate -log oradim.log

    ORA-27041: unable to open file

O/S-Error: (OS 2) Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden.
--> bingo, 1st Issue: there is no spfileXE.ora, how can I create this? plus in the dbs-folder there is only a init.ora and no initXE.ora?
Looked into the log-Folder 5 files starting with clscX.txt (probably after every systemreboot? containing the following:
Oracle Database 11g Clusterware Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production Copyright 1996, 2010 Oracle. All rights reserved.

-> Systemlanguage is german, so I've translated the german parts, maybe there was smth lost in translation
--> 2nd Issue: Is there any regkey missing?
further I watched the folder ORACLE_HOME /server/config/home cloesly:

OK guys I've found it out:
Problem was, the XE.bat-Script couldn't add me to the ORA_DBA-Group.
Reason: my Computername and my username, both had a vowel mutation "ü".
Reason it didn't work at my business-laptop too, both have my "Ü" in the username
    solved!

In this issue what happened their? and what is the actual issue ? Pls provide the answer in step by step wise

You need to run this script while using the 10g binaries. See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28300/upgrade.htm#UPGRD12395
