SP2013 Form to populate a list without granting permissions
Hey All,
I have someone who wants a way to populate specific fields in a list, without granting permissions to the site or list. I don't think it can be done, but I figured I would check with everyone anyways. Is it possible?

On the previous software version I used to be able to view all my calendar events as a list by clicking on the magnifying glass. Now you have to type into the search dialog box for a list to populate. This is very frustrating and annoying because I much prefer the list format to populate everything unless I specify what I am looking for into the search box. Is there a way to view all the events as a list without having to type anything into the search box?And you are aware of the possible options for listing the months and having an optional export value for each month.
For listing the months, you can use a number, a 3 character string, or the full name.
For the export value, the full name, the 3 character value, the 1-2 number, or the 0-11 JavaScript value.
I would look at deciding how you want to populate the drop down box and build a one page form with just this field. You can then insert that page into a PDF and copy the field as needed and then delete the inserted page. Or you could create an FDF file to create the drop down box. -
URGENT,FRM-41337: Cannot populat the list from record group

Can anyone help me in that problem?
I have a database item in the block as a list item with combo box style and I use this code in WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE at the form module level to populate that combo box list:

That code worked very well and without any problem, but when I change the list item from combo box style to poplist style then the forms give that error:
FRM-41337: Cannot populat the list from record group
And an additional null/blanke element appears in the poplist with original element that come from RECORDGROUP.
So can anyone help me to solve that problem please?First, how I can assign a default or initial value DYNAMICALLY to my poplist.Set the default-value to a parameter like :PARAMETER.MYPARAMETER then you can assign the desired default-value to the parameter.
second, if I have popliste say X for example depend on another poplist say Y ,so when I put the code to populate popliste X on WHEN-LIST-CHANGED on popliste Y and make query then the >forms return FRM-40301 Query caused no records to be retrieved ,but when I have a copy for that code in WHEN-LIST-CHANGED and put it in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE at the form >module the form work and returns records, so is it any error or exception in what I did.Can't answer that, you should check :SYSTEM.LAST_QUERY to see why the query does not returnany records.
At the last, which better to put the code for popliste in PRE-FORM trigger at the form module or in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE at the form module.I would use the PRE-FORM-trigger -

How to populate multiple list items dynamically?

I have a form there are 3 list items i want to populate these from a record group by dynamically.
but i can be able to populate only one list item. the others give errors.

For the list item , use the built-in add_list_element in a loop. Example : in the pre-form or when-new-form-instance trigger ,

I am working on an enterprise wiki site collection, and when contributor users try to add web parts they will get the following error:-
A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. You don't have Add and Customize Pages permissions required to perform this action.
So I granted the Contribute Permission level an extra permission which is “Add and Customize Pages”. Now contributors will be able to add/edit/delete
web parts. But they will have extra permissions that I do not want them to have , such as changing the design and customize some page layouts, also they can access the site settings and create site columns !!.
So my question is basically if there is another way to allow users with contribute permission to be able to add web parts without granting any extra permission. In other words to treat adding web parts as normal content such as image, Text ,tables ?

so there are not any workarounds or any custom settings which i can use to implement any of these:-
- To force Contributor users to add web parts without granting them "Add and Customize Pages"
- If i grant them "Add and customize Pages" permission, to stop the ability to access the site settings ?
Please can any one advice on this , as it is causing a lot of confusion,,, and i can not live with the face that Contributor users can access and modify site settings. the other approach will be is that i will stop using web parts. but one of our main reasons
we decide to use SharePoint is the ability to add web parts, especially the Visio & Excel web access web. thanks in advance for any advice .. -

I'm building a portlet based on an html form.
In this forms there are several list items,
How can I populate an html list item with a dynamic query based on a db table?I hope you are looking for something like this

Hi Guys,
i have created one of the field on my form as List Item. Now i want to populate this Item with some values in a table.
I have a base table with
Country_ID and Country_Name fields.
I want to populate my List Item on the form in such a style that it just display Country_name in the list, while Country_ID is saved in the database.
The datatype of the field on my form is NUMBER.
How can i populate my list item with a values selected from a database table, description is displyed while code is to be save?

my question is how is the county id value assigned hidden field to be saved to the database.
secondly the reply states populate list(lstitem,grp_county) my question is which field are you populating here - the display value the country name or the county id to be saved in the database.
most of the notes says you have to create a value twice. one for label and one for value, how is this applicable to be above case.
i have a record group -

FROM sgr_site_list with 2 fields x_site not displayed but receives the site code and save to the database, the other x_site_abbrev displayed and receives site_abbrev but not saved to the database. this is the trigger i have written

I have created a form with 4 combo boxes. And i am trying to populate the 4 combo boxes dynamically.
Here is my table structure.

In the fist combo box i am retriving bus_function and second seq and third step1.
i wrote a trigger when_new_form_instance and i am calling a procedure from the trigger.
here is my procedure code.

Sorry, but Address Book does not allow you to select more than one email address to send to in a group. There's really no reason why people need multiple copies of a message, anyway; they have the option of forwarding email to another email address of theirs.

Can you allow users to view a calendar without granting "Read - Full Details"?

We would like users to be able to view Room calendars side by side in Outlook. Its fine if they can see basic details (subject, organizer), but we don't want them able open and read the meeting body.
Is it possible to have a side by side view without granting "Read - Full Details"?

In Outlook 2007, "Free/Busy time, subject, location" permission only applies when checking the user's free/busy information and not when looking in another user's Calendar folder. In Outlook 2007, if you want to let the calendars be shown side
by side, you need to grant the user Folder Visible permission. But in this way, the user can read meeting details.

IMovie says "Open iTunes to populate this list."
When I try to add a photo or song to my iMovie project, the program says "Open iTunes to populate this list." (In the photo section, it says "Open iPhoto...") Opening either program doesn't change anything.
I've reinstalled Lion and iTunes to no avail. I have also moved the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file to the desktop, and although iTunes creates a new file, the problem persists.
I get the same messages for iTune and iPhoto in other programs, including Mail and Garageband. The problem seemed to pop up when I was connecting my iPhone to the computer to send an iMovie iOS project to iTunes.
Please help.Hi, I have this same issue. I'm not so sure how to remove the preference file from my media browser though. I don't even know what the media browser is. Any help would be very appreciated. I can't access my iTunes data from iMovie or Keynote.....likely other iLife and iWork programs as well.
