SPA3102: Beeps after talking a long time

I wonder if my device is a defective one. I bought from Amazon about a month ago. After the initial installation I noticed that everytime after I made some modification and click the "submit all changes",  the display of the Info page  is not right, the characters on that page seems expanded 10 times or so. I had to refresh the page to get the normal display.  Also the device didn't  register the first tiime I click "submit all changes" after any modification, only after I click the "submit all changes" button again,  it got registered.   I upgraded the firmware to the most current version 5.1.10, it sitll had the same problem.
Today I got another problem. First my wife made two calls. Then I made a 24min call. In the middle of  the talk, it started to beep every few seconds. Does this indicate that this device is not stable?

If it doesn't show up the correct display when accessing the web UI, you may try using different browser or computer. Sometimes it just a browser settings only. After the firmware upgrade, did you reset the device? I think you may consider resetting the unit and have it reconfigured. Thanks.

  • Security Groups not being discovered / Talking a long time to be discovered

    Hi All.
When creating user collections i am creating the majority of them with a membership rule that links directly to a discovered Security Group, so in order for this to happen the security group has to first be discovered by Security Group Discovery Method.
Ok, what i am seeing is that it is taking a long time, very long time for the security group to appear. At the moment a security group that i am waiting on was created more then 24hours ago and has still not appeared in the All User Groups collection.
Now this has got me thinking, some of these security groups are created and will not be populated with users from active directory so it is basically an empty security group, the security group that im waiting on to be discovered is empty also...
So my question... if a security group has no members, does this stop it from being discovered / appearing in All Users Groups collection ?
If this answer is 'no' then i got to ask some more questions as to what is causing this severe lag in my discovery :-(

    Hi Jason,
been trawling the internet and found this.... its dated 2010 so must be referring to SCCM 2007, but could still be relevant.. ???
    5. Active Directory User Discovery
    It discovers the following:
    User name
Unique user name (includes domain name)
    Active Directory domain
    Active Directory container name
    User groups (except empty groups)

(just added a user to my 'empty' security group - see what happens)

  • ObjectInputStream's readInt method hangs after waiting a long time...

Hi there, I have a multi-threaded application that makes massive use of ObjectInputStream/ObjectOutputStream... Basically what it does is that a client server sends a request to an other server who treats the request and once it's done sends back a return code. Until now, those requests were executed under 5 minutes. My app has been in production for a few years now without any problems... I started having problems when new kinds of requests were executed ( these new requests can take up to 3 hours to execute ). So, the client server waits all this time for the return code using the readInt() function. When the request is 2 hours or more, it seems as if the stream hangs and the readInt() method doesn't receive anything ( Even though the writeInt() method was indeed executed ). Even more bizarre, is that no exception what so ever is raised.
Anybody has an idea of what is going on here?
    Thanks to all!

Are you sure you are flushing the output after the writeInt() on the server?

  • My iMac came up in safe mode after taking a long time to boot. Should I worry?

When I rebooted, there was a line running across the middle of the screen indicating that something was installing or happening.  Then the computer came up in safe mode and required me to log in, which I never have to do.  I run Kapersky anti virus as a precaution and don't think I saw the icon in the bar just before I rebooted. So I am not sure it something shut it down or not.  I rebooted, started the anti virus and am doing a scan now.  But should I be concerned? I have never had a safe mode issue with my Mac. The scan finished and found nothing and the computer seems to be running ok. Last night it did seem a little slow. Was there an operating system or iTunes update that came through during the night and was installing this morning? That wouldn't explain safe mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately most antivirus software on Mac's tend to create more problems than they solve. Many people that switch from PC's install them from habits gained while they used PC's. There are also those that use them to protect people that have PC's that they send files to. Because  there are no virus's for Mac's the only reason to use any type of antivirus software is either paranoia or fear of passing on a virus or other malware. Many people on these forums don't use any antivirus application and have been doing so for years with no ill effects, some will use a tool called ClamXav that isn't intrusive and works well on Macs. My suggestion is to uninstall the Kapersky software using Kapersky's uninstall instructions. Then if you have to have antivirus software use ClamXav (it's free) download and install it or if you don't share data with PC users to not run any antivirus software at all. I suspect once done you will gain lost performance and your computer will return to being stable again.

  • Pbms w T400 after bios update: long time to boot, TPM&internet connect pbms

    Hello,
I have a T400 thinkpad, type 7417 that I bought in the US in Nov 2008 (it was downgraded from vista to xp). In November 2011 the computer was running slow so I decided to clean it up a bit and then do the maintenance recommended by the thinkvantage program. I proceeded to do all the smaller updates and the last one that was recommended was updating the BIOS (from what I understood). I left the computer doing these updates overnight, making sure it was plugged into a power source as specified by the update.
The next morning I found that my computer took 5-10minutes to start up and when it did, the screen resolution was altered as if it was in safe mode or something…I removed the HD and saved my data, then tried to use the Rescue and Recovery program to revert to factory settings. Although it seems that the factory settings were indeed restored I still have many problems with the computer. 1. it takes 5-10min to start (blank screen pre-windows logo) 2. it gives me 2 error messages once it has booted: 2a. "Tvttcsd application has encountered a pbm and needs to close." 2b. "There was a pbm connecting to the tpm (security devie) on this computer. It is possible that anti-virus or firewall software is blocking the connection. A missing or disabled driver could also cause this problem. Please refer to the online documentation for more information." 3. it cannot connect to the internet (either wifi or ethernet) 4. Ad-aware tells me it detects a malicious program running but cannot seem to clear it. I have seen several threads about these problems but cannot figure out if they are all connected or not. Before touching anything I was hoping for some help on how to proceed - I am no expert but I can follow instructions I am currently running avast on the computer to hopefully get rid of whatever viruses there may be and see if that can solve the problem. All help is really really welcome please!!!! lore

When I try to look into the Windows firewall I get the following error message:
"Cannot start Windows firewall/internet connection sharing service."
Not sure if both of these are related or not. Any ideas? Would re-installing windows help?
Thanks so much for your help! lore
Did you "optimize" your computer with "Tuneup utilities"? This might cause problems like that.
Also check, whether the services "Windows Firewall" is set to start "Automatic" and running.
Third party desktop-firewall like Zonealarm, Kaspersky or Symantec Internet Security also can cause that problem. In that case remove it including all policies, test the connection and re-install it. Activate training-mode and disallow automatic blocking unknown outgoing connections.

  • Disk Utility taking long time to open directory with disk images

    Hi and thanks in advance.
I have a couple of CD and DVD disk images stored in a folder (and organized into several sub-folders) on a FAT32 volume.
The problem is that recently, Disk Utility takes forever to display the content of any of these folders when I select Open Disk Image from the File menu. The Select an Image to Attach dialog remains empty and the beach ball spins. After a very long time (10-15minutes? I've never had the patience to time it.), the contents will display, if at all. During this period of virtual inactivity, the program is unresponsive.
Since the FAT32 volume is also accessible from my Bootcamped Windows XP OS, I tried doing a disk check and a defragment but it hasn't improved my problem.
    Any ideas?

    HI,
Make sure your MacBookPro has sufficient free disk space to read the disk images.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.

  • Verizon not interested in long time customers?

I am upset that Verizon is not willing to extend an early
upgrade to a longtime customer who has been with the company for 13+ years. I
have been having issues with my current phone for the past year and half, and
am 6 months away from an upgrade. I realize that it is early, but since I have
been such a long time customer I would think they would want to keep my
    business and extend a courtsey.
I spoke to many customer service agents, who told me they would
call me back, but did not, then when I finally spoke to another agent, was told
that I could add a line and would be credited for doing so, but when I was transferred
to sales, I was told I could not, and sales was stunned I was even offered the solution.
I was offered yet another replacement for the phone I have, it
would be my 4th one. Why they dont want to keep a long time customer by letting
me purchase a new phone at the 2 year contract price, (I'm willing to extend
the contract) instead of paying full price is beyond me. I was told that I
could get an Iphone 4 for $349!! Why do that when what I want is listed for
149.?   Why do they not want to retain customers?
I will be leaving Verizon after such a long time and looking at
AT&T and telling everyone I know about it and looking at our business account as well.

There is your answer right there. You "want" an iPhone. You didn't say if you had TEC or EW, so the fact that VZW is offering you a phone replacement after a year and six months is not good enough? You can't take the replacement and ride it out for 4 months till you CAN upgrade? Being a customer for years does not a special situation make. Warranties, upgrade dates, are what they are. Your threat to move companies falls on deaf ears as every wireless company has the same policies.

  • Long time customer for an upgrade

I would like to know why I couldn't get the buy one get one free Samsung promotion?  I might be only 4 months away from an upgrade but I was going to add a line to my account.  Why would I just buy one phone?  This is absolutely ridiculous that I couldn't get the free phone.  Can a Verizon representative explain why they couldn't do this for me.  The customer service rep had the audacity to ask me to change my wireless plan on top of this.

    damamy wrote:
If the new customer is paying for service that same way I have for many years....WHY is his phone only $99????
Possibly because Verizon is subsidizing the phone for people who do not have contracts. You do, they don't. You complete your contract, you will get the same pricing.
For example, you get a new phone for $99, which retails for $500, in exchange for signing a 2 yr contract. You immediately turn around and sell the new phone on a site such as swappa.com for say $400, making a $300 profit. You THEN return to Verizon, being a long time customer, and demand Verizon forgive your contract and sell you another phone for the discounted rate, which they do because you are, after all, a long time customer. You get a new phone for $99, which retails for $500, in exchange for signing a 2 yr contract. You immediately turn around and sell the new phone on a site such as swappa.com for say $400, making a $300 profit. You THEN return to Verizon....
I can't imagine why Verizon doesn't allow people to do this????
Now tell me, who is trying to rip off whom in this scenario???

  • IPod taking a long time to update/restore, and won't turn on!

I literally JUST bought my iPod, like 2 and a half hours ago. When I opened the package, I immediatley plugged it in to the computer. I set it up, putting in information. I tried putting my music onto my iPod, but only some of it went on. In the middle of syncing, a box popped up saying "cannot be synced". But that's not the main problem. I disconnected my iPod from my computer and then plugged it back in. I opened iTunes and it asked if I wanted to install the new update. I clicked yes and it took FOREVER to update. The bar would barely move; on my computer AND iPod! I disconnected it after waiting a long time. I disconnected the iPod from the computer. During these processes I had turned my iPod completely off. I tried turning it back on, but it wouldn't work. I tried charging it, but nothing would work and nothing would show up. I plugged it in again and then iTunes said that I need to restore and update my iPod, and I can't use iTunes until I do it. I said ok, and now it's in the middle of doing it and won't even move. I've been sitting here for a very long time now. I tried disconnecting, but nothing showed up on my iPod home page in iTunes. I'm very frustrated right now, my iPod will not work! And whenever I disconnect my iPod now the bar and Apple sign is still there. PLEASE HELP!

    Hi Dipanjan,
This is a new profile added through patch 8642882 .
This patch adds profile QP: Consider Manual Linegroup Adjustments.
This profile option is to ignore group of lines modifiers while making pricing engine call for getting manual modifiers
Value 'Yes'-- Line group modifiers will be considered for manual modifier pricing engine call.
Value 'No'-- Line group modifiers will not be considered for manual modifier pricing engine call.
Default value is NULL which is similar to value 'Yes'.
The patch also adds a procedure Get_Manual_All_Lines_Status in the QP_UTIL_PUB package.
This api will be used to determine whether all lines need to be sent to the engine while making a engine call for manual modifiers.
Earlier the logic was built in Order Management code but now has been moved to
QP_UTIL_PUB package with some changes to resolve the performance issue.

  • Three 3 Beeps after long resume, boots into OSX just fine. RAM Issue?

    Hi everyone,
After about a year or so of experimenting with Hackintoshs with the OSX86 community (MSi Wind and Dell E1405) and an enjoyable experience with my iPhone, I've decided to pick up my first Mac. I ended up with the newer Macbook 2.4ghz. As a veterened PC user who had no problems with Windows, I find OSX to be very user friendly, so this computer has been very enjoyable indeed.
I went ahead and upgraded it to a 500GB HDD and 4GB of DDR3 RAM as soon as I got it, and by this, I mean, I booted it up to ensure it worked, then shut it down, and added the new parts.
I don't remember if this happened on the first bootup when OEM spec, but now, whenever the computer has been asleep for a long time (after I get up in the morning, or when I get back from work), I hear three or so short beeps right before the DVD scanning for a disc. I believe this also happens if the computer has been turned off a while. If I restart or shutdown for a "short period" it does not happen.
I did some research online, and most people say the RAM has a problem, but they all never boot or have major issues.
My MacBook boots, detects the proper amount of System Memory in "About this Mac", and looks to be just fine in System Profiler. I also ran the Apple Hardware Test, and it passed without issue. The MacBook has no functionality issues that most people contribute to bad memory (reboots, funny screens). Basically, if it didn't beep 3 times, I wouldn't have thought anything could be wrong. The only other issue I have is that it doesn't turn on the laptop's display when resuming from sleep (which is very annoying), something others are reporting as well.
The DDR3 I got is OCZ Brand. A silly name, but reputable brand. It looks to use the same brand Micron chips as the OEM Apple. A link to the Memory I purchased is here - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CNR39U
Does anyone have any insight into what could be causing the MacBook to beep 3 times whenever I boot up after a long time of sleep/off?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

Sounds like faulty RAM. Get 'em replaced. I tend to trust Kingston and/or Patriot for my memory needs.
If that doesn't work, then try popping in the stock RAM. If those work, then we know the RAM you replaced is still faulty. Keep retrying. If the stock RAM still beeps, send the machine in for repairs.
Btw, a running joke between my friends, we call OCZ ... OverClockZors =P.

  • Lenovo Services/Program takes a long time to start after bootup

It seems like Lenovo services take a long time to start after boot up is completely done.
My Bootup time is less than a minute (0:51s), but my lenovo services (Power Manager Gauage, Lenovo Services in the Sidebar, have th ThinkVanatage Button work, and most annoying of all is having access to my network card to change networks) takes about 2 minutes.
Is there a reason why this is taking so long?
I've uninstalled and installed the lastest Lenovo Interface Driver, and a lot of ThinkVantage/Lenovo software and drivers.
    Any ideas?

    No response?
Anyone else on T400 notice this?

  • MacBook Pro takes a long time to start up or hangs at gray apple logo after minor fall

I upgraded to Mavericks a few days ago. Everything was working fine until yesterday, when my MacBook Pro started taking a really long time to start up or restart.
Before upgrading I had some directory problems which I fixed with DiskWarrior. I then upgraded to Mavericks. There was also a fall that I took, which resulted in the MacBook Pro hitting on one corner and getting a minor dent (It was inside a padded messenger bag when I fell). It worked fine for a whole day, but the next day it started slowing down and getting stuck.
I run DiskWarrior again and there was more directory problems, which were fixed again. When I start the MacBook Pro from an external HD with Mac OS X 10.8, there is no delay in starting up. When I switch to the internal HD, then I get very long delays (5-10min) or hangs at the gray apple logo screen.
DiskUtility did not report any problems, neither did SMART report.
Could it be that the HD got somewhat damaged and gets stuck intermittently? Is it possible to start up OK some times and others to get stuck?
How can I check the HD? Shouldn't the SMART report indicate a problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my main work computer!
    Chris

I think that my Mac was shutdown when it fell, but I am not 100% sure.
I did perform both SMC and PRAM resets. I will also try to run maintenance scripts. Thanks for the suggestion.
It keeps on taking around 10min to restart now, but it has not frozen yet.
The other very strange thing that happens  (and this was the first sign I had when it started acting up) is that Mail.app cannot connect to my IMAP servers (a host provider and Google), even though my Mac connects to the internet. I have the MacBook Pro on the same ethernet network as my home iMac, and I get mail without a problem on the iMac! So something is blocking the mail on the MacBook Pro.
This happened for the first time on Friday and after that I kept having the long delays in startup or freezes I mentioned before.
    Could those two be connected?
When I use an external HD as as start up I can get mail fine.

    OK. If you believe that.
When the disk is starting to die it can be bad for a moment and then be good for a while. If there was no problem while you were checking it of course it shows up good.
I tell you those are the signs of a disk that is about to die.

That is precisely what my mid-2010 MacBoook Pro 13 was doing before the drive finally died after an Apple Genius rebooted it a dozen or so times. I have since read about the exact same thing happening to others, including a writer for The Atlantic magazine who had never had an issue with a Mac before. Do a back-up ASAP to make sure you don't lose anything and see about replacing the HDD. It is only about $140 for a new drive. The real issue is if you lose your data, too. So, make sure you do that back-up!
