Spanish translation

I wanted to know if you like how Skype is translated into Spanish. Do you like the tone and the vocabulary used? Should it be more adapted into Spanish (from Spain) or into LatinoAmerican Spanish.
Your thoughts and opinions are welcome...

Hi there! I'm the Spanish translator for the OSX / iOS version, I hope you like those, wherever you come from (Latin America or Spain). I've been translating the Mac version for several years and it's nice to read this kind of comments!
Hola! Soy la persona que traduce la versión de OSX e iOS, espero que os guste, no importa de dónde vengáis (Latinoamérica o España). He traducido la versión para Mac desde hace varios años y siempre es genial leer este tipo de comentarios

  • Burning a window dub from FCP for spanish translation

I need to burn a window dub of my program for a
spanish translation company that needs to translate the english
    to spanish.
Would this be done in FCP or in DVDSP?
    Thanks.
    Kevin

You can do it in FCP using Video Filters > Video > Timecode Generator, you'll have more control and see your image before committing but you'll have to render
or you can use Compressor and turn on the Timecode Generator in the Inspector, under Filters, for the MPEG-2 settings

    Thanks

If you mean the error is within the iPhone OS itself made by Apple then feedback goes here... http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Otherwise you need to contact the app developer to correct the issue...find their website on the app details or settings or help area while app is open

PS: This message was already edited a while ago, but the changes where "erased" so im editing it again to include the URL to the docs in this the first post so everyone will see it.
    ACTUALIZACION:
La traduccion esta lista y esta siendo revisada, para verla:
    http://archlinux.creativa.cl/docs/

    Hi,
Im almost done with the translation, im sorry it took so long, but im been pretty busy, any way, i will need some spanish archers to take a look at it when its done, so, if someone (besides netkrash) wants to have some "beta" access, pm me.

    Buenas,
La traduccion de la documentacion oficial esta casi terminada, por lo que voy a necesitar de algunos hispano-parlantes que desean pegarle una leida y revisar errores de algun tipo y color.
En fin, el que desee colaborar que me mande un mensaje privado, cuando este completa se la envio al mail o la subo a mi servidor para que puedan acceder todos y revisarla online.
Supongo que usaremos este mismo thread para revisar los errores y demas.
    EDIT:
    Edited the title for accurancy.
the proccess is down the thread.

  • Seeking volunteer for Spanish translation

    Hi,
I am developing some educational software with our local high school on a volunteer basis (no fees, just satisfaction and appreciation). In about 10 days we will be giving a demo of the program. One of the features of the program is the ability to switch languages. In our demo, we'd like to demonstrate switching from English to Spanish. The code is Internationalized, but we need someone to translate our English strings in a .properties file into Spanish. (~50 strings). We also need to translate some associated text documents into Spanish: a total of perhaps 2000-> 5000 words depending on what we can finish in the time available.
I'd appreciate it if anyone who is willing to help out would respond here and I can give more details.
You need to have Microsoft Word, java 1.3 run time environment and plug-in, and the capability of entering Spanish text into Microsoft Word (fairly straightforward under Windows 98 or Windows 2000).
    Regards,
    Joe

    P.S.:
lest anyone be scared off by the 2000-> 5000 words, this is really an upper limit. Anything would be helpful.
    Regards,
    Joe

  • Spanish translation on adobe reader Linux

    Hi,
I am a sysadmin on a Spanish Council. We are using Linux three years ago. We started with adobe reader 8 in spanish, but now we have adobe reader 9.3 on 300 pcs, in English of course. Our users have problems with that.
There is a translation in german, but there isn't in Spanish, spoken by 400 million people. If Linux is not a priority, could you explain a way to make our own translation? Could you provide a older translation compatible with acroread 9?
    And what about Reader X?
    Thanks

Well, I will try to explain a bit better.
Adobe Reader X and 9 shows a top bar with information about the document it's signed and the signature it's ok.
In the body of the document it's one object with information related to the signature as this image:
On Reader 9 it automatically changed to Signature Verified without touching nothing. On Reader X we need to press on this object to verify the signature another time and to change this object text to Signature Verified.
Someone knows how to work as Reader 9 did ?
    Thanks for reading.

  • English to Spanish Translation

I need to convert an English-language module created in
Captivate to Spanish. Is there a smart way to do this other than to
completely recreate the module in Captivate (Spanish
    version)?

    Hi pkaim
If all you care about is localizing the added Text Captions
and other textual elements of Captivate, you have a couple of
    options.
In all cases, I would think the first step would be to click
File > Save As... and save as the Spanish version.
If you have Captivate 3, you could click File > Export
    > To XML... and localize the XML file. Then you would reverse
the process by taking the localized XML file and click File >
Import > From XML... and pull in the localized XML file.
If you have Captivate any version, you could click File >
Export > Project Captions and Closed Captions. This would create
a Microsoft Word document. You could then localize the Word
document and import it back into Captivate.
If you also have to re-capture screen captures (because the
interface is also in Spanish) then you may be better off starting
over. But it depends on what is involved.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Why your Spanish translations has some errors?

Specific in two words like "to build" and "to run". You have been translated as "construir" and "correr" respectively. The first one is used for buildings, bridges, roads, etc. The second word is used for races, cars, change of position. The very technical translation for those words are "compilar" and "ejecutar", "to compile" and "to execute" respectively.
    Best regards.

hi darklink2085, thank you for your feedback - where in particular did you find those wrong translations?

  • C6-00 Facebook spanish translation

I don't know how translation bugs are reported so I'm reporting them here. The facebook app has some very awful translation errors:

-The "More" link to load more entries does not translates to "Otro", the correct translation is "Más"
Mi facebook client version is 1.0.8318
    Please correct these errors,
    Thanks

  • Translates automatically to Spanish (which I don't speak)

Ever since updating to 3.6, my web pages are not automatically in Spanish, and I have to go through the painstaking task of clicking, for each page, translate back to English. This happens even with a site that might have multiple pages, like a TV station, book site (Amazon), Facebook. This is happening with all my already-bookmarked sites, which I've had for ages.
I do not speak Spanish, have never had Spanish translation, and would never, to the best of my knowledge, change any page to translate to Spanish. I do not have a Spanish surname - far from it, not even remotely!!
So....why is this happening, and am I gonna have to deal with this for every site I visit? This is ridiculous!!

That is a feature offered by the Google Toolbar.
See http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bin/answer.py?answer=20871 - Translate : Translate basics - Toolbar Help

  • Error Translation in Spanish transaction LSMW

    Hi guys,
When i´m  logon the system in Spanish, the translations of transaction LSMW shown in German. I Find SAP Note: 761 911 - LSMW Texts are only available in German or English.
As I can configure the system so that when you enter in Spanish translations are in German by mistake, I show them in English. These are my language data is configured in SAP:
    SMLT:
I have installed the languaje Spanish.
    System Languaje: English
    Secondary Languaje: Germán
    Profile:
    zcsa/system_language = Spanish (S) - (for logon users)
    zcsa/installed_languages = DES
I don´t have the supplementation Languaje.
    Regards,
    Desiré

    Hi Desiree,
if there is no translation of an object in your logon language available the system takes the language you have maintained as second language. In your case in German.
I've you want to show the texts in english you have to perform the following steps:
You can't change the second language in transaction smlt anymore, but there is the system parameter zcsa/second_language and set it to english (zcsa/second_language = E).
    Restart the system.
Then start the report Report RSLANG20 for your language spain in force-mode. (The language load will be invalidated.)
Now set back CUA- and Dynpro-Buffer with /$CUA and /$DYN.
Afterward you should see english when spanish is missing.

  • Translation to Spanish of the Beginner's Guide

I am planning to translate the Beginner's Guide to Spanish.
I'd like to help with something more useful than a translation, eventually, like contributing with Arch development (bug fixing?), but I don't have the time and energy to dive into that pool right now (I'm not even used to Linux programming ).
Anyway, the reason for this post, is to ask whether:
    1) A Spanish translation of the Beginner's Guide has already been started.
    2) The community thinks another doc should take precedence. I chose the Beginner's Guide because it's the single resource that has helped me the most to get my Arch system up and running.

Nuwanda wrote:1) A Spanish translation of the Beginner's Guide has already been started.
Usually people will write it in the wiki, so everyone can see the progress. There doesn't appear to be a spanish version yet.
tip: I would write it in the wiki also, rather than do it offline, as that way other spanish users can aid you aswell.

No better page in my opinion. Also, you can see the page hits at the bottom, and the english version is standing strong at 123,000 hits!
    Oh and btw, good luck!

  • Application Translation Not Working - Primary Key Error

I had created an application translation to Spanish but it wasn't displaying my Spanish translation. I was going to try and redo it so I tried creating a new mapping and then seeding the translatable text. I got a primary key error "ORA-20001: Seed insert error: WWV_FLOW_TOPLEVEL_TABS.TAB_TEXT ORA-00001: unique constraint (FLOWS_030100.WWV_FLOW_TRANSLATABLE_TEXT_PK) violated".
I went in and deleted what I had done through APEX for this app and tried to create a new application but still get the primary key error when I try to seed it. I gave it a new translated application ID but that doesn't seem to help. Anyone have this problem or no of the reason I'm having this issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi David,
Thanks for reporting this. This was an interesting problem to solve.
As it turns out, it was a logic error in Application Express (i.e., bug). When deleting a translation mapping, the associated strings in the translation repository would be deleted for that application, but if and only if you had actually published the application.
I think this is why you could never get Spanish working properly - you had never actually published the application the first time. So I'll bet what you did is deleted the original mapping, then you recreated the mapping for the same language but with a different translated application ID. Since you had never published the application from the original translation mapping, and there were orphaned rows in the translation repository, you encountered a "collision" when you tried to seed the second time with the different translated application ID.
Your action of deleting rows from WWV_FLOW_TRANSLATABLE_TEXT$ cleaned up these orphaned rows. As you stated, this isn't recommended to perform DML on the underlying APEX tables. A couple alternatives could have been:
    1) Before deleting the translated application mapping, actually publish the application and then delete the mapping.
    2) If you had deleted the mapping already, you could recreate the mapping for the same language and with the original translated application ID. Then, publish the application and then go back and delete the mapping.
I realize all this sounds crazy. But it was only an issue because you had not actually published the application. Not your fault, though, as this is a bug in APEX.
This bug will be fixed in Application Express 4.0. This way, you won't have to worry about if you published or didn't publish. The orphaned rows will be cleaned up when you delete a mapping.
    Thanks again for reporting this.

  • GL master data - display translation in GL account list report

Hello all. I would like to produce a report that shows the Spanish translations we've assigned to GL accounts in the Translation section of master data. However, I can't see where I can define the language "ES" in any of the standard reports criteria. Any suggestions? Or do I have to log into SAP 4.7 with the language "ES" in order to see those translations?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Try F.01.
Enter the chart of accounts, the comapny code.  Select the FSV (use BABE, its like a trial) and input the language as ES.  It should show you the text in Spanish.
If you just want to view the GL account and the Spanish description, you can view the table SKAT in transaction SE11 / SE16 and you will be able to see the text in the language of choice.
    Cheers.
