Specific value in one field determines value in fields

I am building a form using Adobe Pro and I am fairly new to Java Script.
One of the fields I am creating can only be a specific value (nra). If nra is selected it needs to blank out a second field and put a number 1 in a third field. Can java script be used on drop down boxes? If not it is ok if the nra field is a free form text field.

The type doesn't really matter, as long as the value can be validated. But
if you use a drop-down, make sure to tick the option to commit the selected
value immediately, or the script will only kick in once you leave the field.

Use NVL or COALESCE:
NVL (col_a, col_b)
Returns col_a if col_a is not NULL; otherwise, it returns col_b.
Col_a and col_b must have similar (if not identical) datatypes; for example, if col_a is a DATE, then col_b can be another DATE or it can be a TIMESTAMP, but it can't be a VARCHAR2.

I want below values like 1;2;3;4;5;(same like we get by using UserResponse function for user prompt but this is simple object not user prompt)

Hi Prabath,
Alas, this is not simple, I have to challenge the solution road you choose.
Can't you work with a rotated table? So say the object normal table would be:
<object name>
1
2
3
4
5
the rotated table would read:
<object name> 1 2 3 4 5
So if you were to hide the header of this table and may be put a ";" after each object value,
you get almost the same.
Plus; it scales automatically based on the number values for the object.
Minus; it requires a fixed width, row by row autofith option doesn't exist for column by column...
Only other (complex) option:
Create a table with the object (first one).
Give the table a footer line.
Now in the footer use the following formula:
max(<object name>&previous(<object name>)&previous(previous(<object name>))&...)
Then you fold the table and show only the footer.
Now the downside here is that obviously you will have to know just how many occurrence of object name there are. So I really wouldn't recommend it unless there are really few values max.

Field Account Determination value in Posting Parameter tabpage

Hi RE-Gurus,
I have a specific requirement.
In a given RE-FX Lease Out Contract, we enter Account Determination Value on the Posting parameters tab page which is responsible for determination of the G/L account which shall be posted at the time of carrying out Periodic Posting.
The requirement is that i want to control the change authorization for the same for specific set of users.
This means if i have 10 users who have Contract change authorization, only one of them shall have authorization to change the Account Determination Value on the Posting parameters tab page and rest 9 users shall not be allowed to change the Account Determination Value.
I hope i m clear in stating my requirement.
Plz revert back ASAP.

Selecting Records based on multiple values in one field

Excuse the basic request.
I want to select all records from one table depending on the value in 2 specific fields. Each of these fields has a single value in it.
What I have written is as below
1.select nm_idno "EZAID", nm_fname, nm_lname, nm_et_tt "Position", nm_mt_mt "Status", nm_type, nm_wemal, nm_mailshot from MNME
2.where nm_type = 'M' and where nm_mailshot = 'Y' and nm_wemal > ' '
3.and where nm_mt_mt = (1 or 6 or 3 or 10) *** these are the bits that I don't understand why they will not work.
4. and where nm_et_tt = (408 or 329 or 283)
Basically every record should have one of the values I have highlighted in it.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Update/Insert into two fields based on value of one.

How would I do the following in ADDT.
Example:
I have a database about dogs. When user completes form they make a selection from a recordset feed drop down box of breeds. Lets say they select "PUG" based on the selection two fields are populated from the same recordset size="small" and color="brown".

How to copy value from one field to another in a Apex Form

Hello guys,
There are 2 addresses one is shipping and other is billing. I do not want the customer to re-enter all the details if it is the same address. So based upon an action, it should take the live values from one address field and populate the other address field. I know in JS you can do it, but how to implement that in Apex?
I guess using Dynamic Actions to achieve this in Version 4 but do not know how. Read quite some info but no luck.

I have assumed that you have your shipping address at the top of the page, and then further down the page you have your billing address that you want to enable the users to copy (if this is in reverese, you will need to switch the js variables in the code following).
I would create a Select List item above the 'Billing Address' details, called PX_SAME_ADDRESSThis select list would be static, with the options Null.
I also assume you would have pairs of address page items such as:

Copy value from one field in subform, to another field in a different subform

Hi all. I have been back and forth with enterprise support, and they are telling me what I want to do is impossible. I find that hard to agree with, so hoping I can get some help here. I have a document that I am creating, based off an XML. The page consists of a header subform, a flowing table of variable name, and then a footer. My problem comes in, that when the table flows to mutliple pages, my header subform will not repeat, even though I have it set as the overflow header. According to Enterprise Support, this is by design. The header will repeat on the footer page, if that is on a separate page, just not when the table flows to another page. So, I came up with a solution to create an additional Header in my table, merge all the cells into one column, and copy my subform into that new header. I would set that header to appear only on subsequent pages. So, when I preview my document, it shows the static text fine, as I would expect, however the text fields are blank. I need a way of copying the values from the original header subform, into the newly created table header subform. The values will be different based on teh XML input, meaning that the first 3 pages will have one set of values, and the next 3 another, etc.. See sample below...

So, if I bind my original header to NameValueName, it will show on the first page which has my header, and the third page that has my footer. I tried to put code in the Initialize event of both text boxes, to copy from MainHeader.NameValueName to TableHeader.NameValueName, but that didn't work properly.
Any ideas on how to do this?

Thank you very much for the reply. I tried putting the copy statement in both the MainHeader and TableHeader initialize events. There was different behavior, depending on the place I put the copy statement, however neither was correct. If I put it in the initialize of the TableHeader, the NameValueName that appears on other page is Name1. Even though the header shows Name2 when it hits the next nodes. If I put it in the initialize of MainHeader, nothing is copied on the proper table header pages.
I initially had Master pages, however that really didn't work. The master pages traversed the NameValueName nodes on it's own loop. So, Each page displayed the next value in it's own loop, when the main subform loop is still showing data from the previous value. I know this might be hard to understand, but I'm doing my best to explain. THanks again for your reply, and I hope that there is another idea out there to fix this...

How to Insert more than one record at a time- with fixed set of values in one field

Can someone guide as to how to insert multiple records at a time using ASP VBScript in Dreamweaver CS4 or ADDT.
If someone can guide then the exact problem is given below.
I have a MS access database with one table. The table has three fields. The first field is an autonumber field for ID number.
The second field contains string values- One out of 7 predefined values. One set of records consists of 7 records containing all the seven types of predefined values in fields no 1.
The third field is a numeric field and can contain integers.
I want that the user can enter data for the table using an ASP form in such a way that he enters one set of records at a time in one single screen. This way he will not have to remember that he has /has not entered all the seven set of values for the field no 1.
I am not creating fields with the 7 types of field1value as their names as it will increase the number of fields drastically.
Please help for dreamweaver ASP VBScript.

I have successfully inserted seven records in one form submit operation by looping through the command object execute method.
However, the data that is being inserted by the command object is repetition of the first record and the command object is not taking any data from the text boxes for the second record onwards. In this I had used the isert record behavious generated by DW CS4 and modified it to suit my requirement. However, the data inserted in the first row is getting repeated in all the seven rows.
Please help.
Also advise if there are any free dreamweaver server side validation extensions available.

How to find out the max/min value of one field corresponding to a second field in HANA through graphical way.

I am trying to find out the latest delivery date(EINDT) for each purchasing document (EBELN) through graphical way.
The view contains other fields apart from the above mentioned two fields.
When only the two fields (EBELN, EINDT) are there, then in semantics, I can select 'Max' as aggregation to get the maximum value for each document.
If I do like this, then I need to join more than 3 views and also so many joins in calculation view. Taking so much time for data preview.
Hence , please help me in getting the solution while the view contains other fields also.

I THINK IN FIELD EXITS SOME RESTRICTION IS THERE YOU CAN NOT USE CALL TRANSACTION OR CALL SCREEN. I DONT KNOW WHAT IS YOUR ACTUAL REQUIREMENT. BUT YOU ARE TRYING TO CALL TRANSACTION USING MEMORY ID OR SOMETHING THEN I THINK IN FIELD EXIT YOU CAN NOT DO THAT. PLS CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG

I want to include more than one value in a particular filed, while its running in back ground.
The requirement is like this
perform bdc_field using 'PNPABKRS-LOW'
'01'.
01 is a filed on employee payroll type : management staff.
02 - Filed staff
03 - work men
How can i include 02 and 03 also for the perform.
it has to check whether the employee can belongs to any of the above three.

You can not use all the 3 fields at the same time, instead you can pass on one variable in that perform.
eg.
take all your staff value in one internal table and use the following code
loop at i_tab into wa_tab.
data : l_variable type string.
perform bdc_field using 'PNPABKRS-LOW' wa_tab-staff.
endloop.
in first run of loop it will take value '01', in second '02' and so on.

How to drill down another one report on one field value of one row

Hi,
I have two reports that can link together on one field of respective database query command. The effect i want to reach is that when user clicks this field value on some row of one report, which i call source object, another report, target object, would use this value as input parameter and the page would jump to this linked report. I can see Format Editor provides Hyperlink feature when one field is edited, but i don't know how to associate another report as what i described here.
What if one the following conditions is met:
1.one of two objects, source object, is one chart object
2.target object is one chart object
3.two objects are both chart objects
Note: two objects is separately from different reports.
Additionally, is it possible to code for hyperlink functionality under both .NET WinForm and WebForm? what if under RDC?

I don't know if you can use the hyperlink to call a subreport but the following has worked for me in Crystal 10:
1. In your main report create a group on the field you want to pass to the subreport.
2. In the Group Footer, use the "Insert Section below" menu command so that you have a Group Footer 1a and a Group Footer 1b.
3. Put your table fields in the Group Footer 1b section (this would be similar to your Details data).
4. Put the sub report in the Group Footer 1a section. Set up the links to the subreport from a table field in your main report.
5. Right-click on the sub-report, select "Format Sub-report". Click on the "x-2" button to the right of the Suppress option and enter "DrillDownGroupLevel = 0" in the "Formula Workshop-Formula Format Editor-Suppress" window and save it.
When you double-click on your data field (i.e. the field in Group footer 1b) it should drill-down and run your subreport.
