Specifing User Password host sid

I am implementing BC4J applications and client views.
They are not deployed they are local.
I want to specify
host
user
password
sid
I can partially do this in the application in the get application module configuration parameter. However I have to know ahead of time all the configurations the application may use.
In the Client code it uses the Binding to get to the application server which is even more mystifying.
Is there away to parameterize the above information for both the application and client case?
I can't find it in the documentation.

Two documents that might help you with some possibilites are:

Update on my problem connecting in Itunes with my Airport Express. Not sure if anything I tried made a difference

  • Server & Messages User Passwords / jabber:hosts

    Hello,
I have previously changed my virtual host name, and am trying to reconfigure the local server on a Macbook Pro
Although I currently don't have any users connecting using Jabber, I would like to check some of the related settings.
Currently in Server 4.0.3 my current settings show:
    Host Name: jmzxmbp.jamoosi
    Computer Name: JMZXMBP
Could anyone describe what these two values should typically be?
    jabber:hostsCommaDelimitedString = "jmzxmbp2.local"
    jabber:hosts:_array_index:0 = "jmzxmbp2.local"
Would these settings still include 'local' as part of the string if 'local' was previously part of the host name, after changing from '.local' to a domain name)?

    Hi
Archive the LDAP Database, do the upgrade/install to Leopard. Make sure your DNS config is the same as it was when the server was 10.4.11. Spend time on this and test this thoroughly. In fact don’t start any other service until you have this as it should be. Promote to OD Master, use the same details for the Directory Administrator (diradmin) account that you used before and restore the LDAP Database. All Users, Groups, Computer Lists, MCX and passwords should be retained.
The manual is correct in saying that Users passwords are not retained when exporting from WGM. However it should not be a problem (if the first method does not work) to select all relevant users and define a policy forcing users to change their passwords next time they login. Saves you the finger work. You could also inform your users what you wish them to use or the form the passwords should take.
    Hope this helps, Tony

  • How to get Reports for specific User that how many password has been reset using FIM SSPR in FIM 2010 R2 SSPR

    Hi,
How to get Reports for specific User that how many password has been reset using FIM SSPR in FIM 2010 R2 SSPR
    Regards
    Anil Kumar

    Hello there Anil,
A simple way to quickly get a overview is to look at the request history within the portal environment (note that this will expire in a few day based on your environment, after that you would need to FIM Reporting Module - but you could increase this to
maybe 60 days to so, watch the DB size).
To do this you could create some custom search scopes of do some custom queries. The creator of the SSPR activities always has the same GUID so you can use that so search.
In your search scope you can use the following XPath to play with.
    - All Password Reset Requests - /Request[Creator='b0b36673-d43b-4cfa-a7a2-aff14fd90522' and Operation='Put']
    - All Completed Password Reset Requests - /Request[Creator='b0b36673-d43b-4cfa-a7a2-aff14fd90522' and RequestStatus=‘Completed']
You can play with the "RequestStatus".
    Hope this helps.

  • RCA Managed SID users password locked

    Hi All,
The configuration of the managed system went well for SID DR2. I have given Dialog user for the configuration of managed system and it created SMDAGENT_SMP and SAPSUPPORT users. But now when my Dialog user password is changed (due to its expiry), the RCA of some part is locking the Dialog user of managed system DR2 as its using same old password.
My question is whether this behaviour is happend to anyone else, and if it happend how to solve it.
    Thanks,
    Rohan

    Hi Rohan,
If you are refering to SAPSUPPORT user being locked, check if you have changed the password for this user in the Setup Wizard for the system DR2.
    1. Diagnostics Setup
    2. Managed Systems
    3. Setup Wizard
    4. Setup Parameters
Under "Initial User/Passwords" inform the new password and rerun the setup.
If you are refering to the Diagnostics agent user being locked, refer to "RCA User Administration Guide" section 2.3.8. There you will see how to update the password for this user.

  • [SOLVED] How to get sudo and kdesu to honor my user password?

    Hi folks,
Well, I must be missing something. I think I've tried everything listed here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=143487 and in the referenced links, but I still have the problem of my system rejecting my password for some uses of sudo and kdesu but not others.  I've included my /etc/sudoers file below.
My problem may be due to screwing around with users:  I started out using bruce (1000), then switched to bbraley (1001), then deleted bruce in kusers, then changed bbraley to 1000. When that created more problems without solving the original one, I switched back to 1001.  I've played with adding and removing my user from groups, including creating a sudo group, making sure I am a member of wheel group, etc.
What seemed to be everyone's magic fix,
    pacman -S pambase
didn't work when I tried it successfully with my bbraley password, then later, when that began failing, using the root password. pambase reinstalls, but there is no resulting change in the behavior of sudo.
Side question: Most of my experience is with kubuntu in which I never created a root user and never had any trouble having my user password work with sudo or kdesu. Is there a reason Archwiki beginners guide suggests assigning a separate root account and password?
    Can anyone help?

I had never used it, either, but I misread some reference and thought it might help. Since you say it causes the behaviour I'm trying to eliminate, I will get rid of it, as suggested. However, the behavior preceded my addition of this line in the file, so I don't think this will correct the problem. Edit: Removing it kept the root password from being universally required (I can now edit /etc/sudoers using my user password) and returned it to requiring it sometimes (I still need the root password to use kdesu).
As for some other distro not having a root account, that is simply impossible.  There was a root account.  If you didn't have the password for it, then that installation was severely crippled.
Sorry, you're right. I should have said that kubuntu does not expect users to assign a password to the root account and instead expects primary users to access that account's privileges via su, sudo, or kdesu only.
    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo
By default, the root account password is locked in Ubuntu. This means that you cannot login as root directly or use the su command to become the root user. However, since the root account physically exists it is still possible to run programs with root-level privileges. This is where sudo comes in - it allows authorized users (normally "Administrative" users; for further information please refer to AddUsersHowto) to run certain programs as root without having to know the root password.
Thanks for responding to my request for help. Any other ideas?
Edit:  Here's what I keep getting that only accepts the root password, not my user password

    Power Mac G5 Dual 2.0   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Using Tiger Server, I have found that enabling ACLs, or Access Control Lists on the volume, and then specifying users and/or groups into the specific ACLs for the share point has been very helpful. Also note that 10.4.10 server seems to work better than 10.4.11, so if you haven't upgraded, don't go beyond 10.4.10. .11 seems to have some permissions issues and other problems.
I assume you are connecting to the server via AFS (i.e. Go > Connect to Server > ip address) and not SMB? SMB sometimes is more problematic about ownership. But either way, Mac or PC clients, it seems ACLs are the way to go.
Crazy as it seems, on my server, even if the owner is, say, admin, and the group with r/w permissions is, say, Prepress, it helps to specifically add the Prepress group to the ACL for that share. Then be sure to propagate the permissions down (unless you don't want to, for some reason). To do this, click the little gear icon and propagate all the permissions -- owner, group, acl, etc. down. This will take a bit of time depending on how much stuff you have. I also find that a server reboot can be helpful.
[[ All this said, 10.5.1 seems to do some crazy things, and I hope 10.5.2 addresses them. I have one machine (not user ID) that always creates a folder on a share with no permissions for anyone. Only from that Mac; the same login on another works just fine. Go figure]]

  • How to apply Software Restriction policy for specific user in local group policy object ?

I am working on implementing user based software restriction policy programmatically for local group policy object.
If i create a policy through Domain Controller,i do have option for software restriction policy in user configuration but in local group policy editor i don't have option for that.
When i look for the changes made by policy applied from Domain Controller in registry, they modifies registry values for specific users on path HKEY_USERS\(SID of User)\Softwares\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Safer\Codeidentifiers
They also have registry.pol stored in SYSvol folder in Domain Controller. When i make the same changes in registry to block any other application, application is getting blocked.

  • 2011 17" MacBook Pro freezes for over 5 mins on user password

    Hey everyone,
I installed Yosemite on my 2011 17" MacBook Pro. Since then, after a period of my computer being on or after sleep, it appears that the process that handles login using my user password hangs for a bit and then proceeds to work.
On the login screen, after I enter my password, the focus is drawn off of the password field, and then the computer just sits for what seems to be about 5-7 minutes. This also happens when OS X asks me to enter my password to install / uninstall something; the login window just sits there and does nothing.
It doesn't happen right after a restart, and it seems like it happens more often after the computer goes to sleep and wakes back up, or has just been running for a while.
A couple other possibly related problems is that my system will sometimes just start to slow down and every app will slowly become unresponsive, sometimes to the point where I have to use the power button to do a hard reset. Also I've noticed that my system won't remember that I set my screensaver to "never" but will reset itself to "15 minutes" (which is annoying, because after I come back from the screensaver, my system takes a long time to log back in).
I can't do a system reinstall right now, and I've tried to do PRAM resets and disk repairs. Maybe I'm googling the wrong words, but I've searched and I can't find threads with my exact issue.
    Can anyone help? Thanks!

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
    5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Oracle 8i Lite: logging to sql plus - uid, password, host string - whats that

If i install "Oracle 8i Lite" (just locally, not networked). There are two important things : "Navigator", and "SQL Plus". If in navigator, I create a local database called "xxx" (tables under 'system' user). Then if i need to query - i go to SQL Plus. Fine, but how do we log in - what is the "host string" ?.
The login needs, Userid, Password, Host String. In some docs, it said the userid, password for 'system' account is 'system, manager' respectively. Anyways, now the host string , i had read the 'host string' will be like "@databasename", so I think for me, it will be "@xxx"
But the way, I'm understing, i cant log, and SQL Plus says something "TNS: could not resolve service name". Maybe i have to something with that tnsnames.ora file....?
Incase, you could give ANY information, kindly inform.
    Thanks

Host string usually refers to the host string that is stored in your TNSNAMES.ORA file. You can open TNSNAMES.ORA with a text editor.
If you get "TNS: could not resolve service name", it's either you have not start the database or your configuration in TNSNAMES.ORA is wrong.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

iam getting the same error(the TNS thing)can you be a bit more explaining regarding how to solve the problem.

  • Problem in RFC as JCO changed from user/password to  SSO

    Hi all
Initially i was using CO with user/password properties but now it has been changed to SO.
In my webdynpro project there are 3 RFC Models being used.
Out of which 2 are working fine and giving the desired results but 1 RFC works fine on the R/3 side but from the webdynpro side it does not work just displays bapireturn - "Not successful".
As the properties of the JCO changes to USer/password , the RFC works fine giving the desired results
Plz let me know wht cld be the problem
    Thanks and Regards

    Vindhya,
With SSO, the details of the user who's logged in goto R/3 and thus determines if the user has authorizations to run this RFC. This user could be different from the user you were using previously without SSO.
Meaning, this time, with SSO, the user is you whereas the user for user/pwd is someone else and you dont have authorizations to run the RFC??
And another thing, even if you can successfully run that RFC logging into R/3, your userid may not have RFC authorizations (which is required to do a RFC call). IF thats the case, you need to talk to your security/basis guys.
Lemme know if that could be the case in your situation.
