Specifying Critical Transport Objects under Change Management Extend config

I'm trying to configure Change Management and I am in SPRO under SAP Solution Manager -> Config -> Scenario-specific settings -> Change Managment-> Extended config -> Change Request Management -> Specify Critical Transport Objects.
It states that you need to select the system/clients for which you want to specify critical transport objects.  however, i do not see my systems listed there.  I'm assuming i've missed a prior step somehow.
Any help would be appreciated!  Thank you!
Margo

Hi.
There are several things necessary to make the system appear in this transaction (/N/TMWFLOW/CMSCONF -> critical obejcts)
You need:
- a smi project
- a logical component assigned to that project which contains your systems
- at least one system within your logical component of type "developement system"
- the project needs to be released for change request management (tx: solar_project_admin, "activate change request management")
Hope this helps.

  • Incident management and Critical Master data table change management.

    Dears,
I need to configure Incident management and Critical Master data table change management on our solman 7.0 server.
I want to know how many days should be required for this activity and please share documents.

    Hi,
    I faced a similar situation,
I tried all the possible ways like activating InfoObject manually, Through an activation program of aggregates,
Also ran RSRV check which was showing no negative results.
I raised an OSS note for the same but after that when SAP returned back the process chian ran again as it is a daily load which activated the record in 'M'.
I ask you to wait till the next process chian run, and try all possible ways to activate.
If it is not corrected then raise an oss to SAP.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Maintenance Optimizer - Under Change Management in solman_workcenter

    Hello,
If I go to transaction solution_manager and navigate to the Maintenance Optimizer in our solman system, I see dozens of lines of maintenance requests.  Furthermore, I go start a new transaction and I will be shown the appropriate logical components which are assigned to the solution landscape that I chose when entering solution_manager/dswp.
However, when I use solman_workcenter instead (which is the direction that we want to go), and then go to the change management tab, and click on maintenance optimizer, I am not shown any maintenance requests.  Furthermore, when I try to start a new transaction, the logical components are not displayed and I cannot choose the system for which I want to the transaction for.
Am I missing some configuration or setup within SOLMAN_WORKCENTER which is preventing me from being placed into the appropriate Solution Landscape?
    Thank you.

  • Asking to save any transported objects under new request in QA

    Hello Experts,
I did transport some infopackages and Process Chains from Dev to QA.
    1. When I try to click 'Activate and Schedule' button to activate and schedule a process chain, it's asking to save it under new request which is QA request. Is it normal or something to do with the BASIS settings? I thought it should not ask for another transport request to save under. We don't transport anything from QA to other server, so why asking for tranport request?
    2. If I change any infopackage and try to save, also asking to save under any request. Is it also normal?
    3. If I create a new infopacakge in QA, It's not asking to save under request. I can save it normally without any request.
Can some one explain please? Appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    Bhakta

    Hi Bhakta,
You can change / activate process chains ( or any other object ) in QA & Prod even without creating a transport .

  • How to integrate customer objects in CC02 / change management?

    Hello everybody,
I want to integrate a new customer object (for customer-specific master data) into the standard change management of ECC 6.0.
I already read that there is a BAdI, which can undo changes made with the standard change management.
"In the BAdI ECM_UNDO Undo Changes, SAP provides separate classes as BAdI implementations for each of these objects. If you want to implement undo changes for more SAP master data and for customer-specific master data, you can use these classes as templates for your own implementations."
But how can I integrate new objects for customer-specific master data?
    Thanks in advance,
    Lars

    Hello Lars,
i´ve the same requirement. For a customer specific development we´ve developed our own business objects. The customer wants the change these objects with change management. You´ve already got a solution for this?

  • Central Transport Change Management

    Hi,
I want to use my Solution Manager instance as a central repository for all the change requests that are created by my Implementation project (Using ECC6, SCM, BI, XI).
I have followed the IMG for the Basic settings in Change Management, but I need to understand whether the Extended settings will give me what I need.
Or if I am doing something really stupid and have actually finished the config.
    TIA
    Chris aka BoobBoo

    Hello,
This is not possible, as there is no support for Transport and Change management. You will always need some down-time in production. But there are some strategies to reduce the down-time.
    (1) You could use the Java ADMIN API to create a batch-script that performs the required repository modifications. Once you validate it works, unload your repository, run your program and load the repository again.
    (2) Create a "slave" repository and re-direct your production users to that repository. Unload your production repository and make all changes. Once done, reload that repository and switch back. Remember that this will only help to keep a "look-up" only version of the production repository...

  • Version of the object using Transport Wizard and Change Lists

    Hello experts,
When using the Transport Wizard, after selecting --> "Individual Objects" --> "Add Objects from Change Lists", do you know if the version of the object selected
    - is the last one (aka, the version right after the last activation of the object)
    - or the version of the object at the time it was added to the Change List?
    Thank you very much!

Go to T-code SE10, go to the transport request you created. See all objects that are attached to your request. Now you would need to revert all the objects attached to its previous version(as you recieved before changes).
Go to each object, by double clicking on it, go to utilities - version management and see the relevant version just prior to your change. Uncheck the checkbox which is checked on current version and check the previous version checkbox and find button on toolbar which says retrieve version, click on it and once that version is retrieved go to change mode on that object and generate or activate the same.

    Hello,
In the intresting document I read that for the deployement the version number mentionned in the MANIFEST.MF is very important in a clustered evironment.

    denies this.
    Can you clear this out?

  • Change Management & Change Transport Process in GRC AC RAR

With RAR not being able to leverage the SAP ABAP Change Management Process (CTS) what is the best practise for controlling the changes for RAR rule set ?
How do we acheive job segregation from
    1. Making Changes to Rules in Dev RAR
    2. Transporting (Importing) them to RAR Prod
How do we make sure the 'Import Rules' functionality is restricted. ? (Can we remove Action 'ImportRules' from all the roles and restrict that to one role & restrict the administrator from making role assignments directly in RAR (Only from CUP) )
    Thanks

    Hi Prashanth,
You can restrict the access by removing the action ImportRules from the customized role that you can create in UME for RAR.
    Thanks,

  • EM10gR2 Grid Control / Change Management Pack does not support TYPE objects

I wonder any Oracle EM10gR2 Grid Control users, implementing Oracle Change Management Pack, have used it for the release and proper packages management.
Issue1 - On an EM console / Web GUI the DDL comparison and synchronization is not supported at all. Implementing it @ customer it appeared that we have to install a 10g Java Client in order to use the code comparison and sync functionalities.
Issue2 - and this is more serious - it appears that even with Java client in use, you cannot compare or sync objects related to TYPE or TYPE BODY data types. The comparison simply hangs.
Asked help from support, they mentioned an ER from 8i and logged a new ER for 10g/11g. That is surprising especially as the doc (http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A96679_01/toc.htm) about code comparison does not exclude the TYPE objects from the supported options.
Any fellow DBA running to a same problem? What solutions & recommendations might you have?

    Hi Mugunthan,
Can you provide links to any tutorial or example (screenshots) of using Setup Manager to transfer something between two environments (say Users or DFFs)?
    Thanks,

  • Change Management. Cannot go to the next phase ... And common questions.

    Hi dear colleagues!
Here there are some unpleasant problems which has arisen during Change Management functions realization...
    1. After approving of Urgent Correction by so-called "Change Manager", "developer" couldn't set it status "in development" -> and begin corrections in DEV system. It outputs in status bar: "NO ACTIONS IN THE WORK LIST".
    2. How should i link some urgent correction (or simply Service Message) to a specific Maintenance Cycle?
The same problem I cannot go to the next phase, system outputs that "No Maintenance Cycle is open for the current system".
    3. And please can u explain in a simple words: Should i always make a maintenance project for using "Change Management" functions?
    4. Can we use "Change Management" for 4.0C (vers. of satellite) systems?
Any help and tips would really appreciate.
    Best regards,
    Vladimir

    Hi,
For configuring change management, you will have to follow the SPRO guidelines for setting up transport routes between satellite systems.
Well i list down the activities that you need to do. Details you can find in SPRO -- > SAP Solution Manager --> Scenario Specific Settings --> Change Request Management --> Standard Configuration --> transport management System
    1) Activate Extended transport control by setting  System Parameter CTC=1 in STMS --> Systems
2)Create Client specific transport route between satellite systems
    3) Ensure that all the systems in the domain have the same transport group.
4)Configure or activate Single transport Strategy in STMS --> Overview --> transport routes.
5)Activate TMS Trusted services in STMS --> Overview --> Systems --> Goto --> transport Domain --> Management Tab page --> Security option group box.
Besides these activities, you will have to execute the SPRO IMG Activity
SAP Solution Manager --> Basic Settings --> SAP Solution Manager System --> Activate Integration with Change Request Management
For activity Intigration Solution Manager make the following entry
    APPL: Change Request Management
    RFC Destination : NONE
For activity Integration Change Request Management
make the entries in table BCOS_CUST as g
    iven in the IMG instruction.
Now in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN you can activate a maintenance project for change management by going to System Landscape --> Project Cycle
Click the check box Activate Change request Management.
(NOTE: The above option comes only in Solution Manager 4.0, for SOLMAN 3.2 you can directly create maintenance cycle in /n/tmwflow/cmsconf --> Distribution Routes --> Project Landscape group box .)
Now you can create a maintenance cycle by clickin on the button Create Task List in project cycle tab page.
Navigate to task list and activate the tasklist (Maintenance Cycle) by clicking on the status button.
Now while creating change request ensure that you are assigning the correct ibase /component of the production system in the satellite system landscape. You have to enter the ibase component of the client of the production system to whcih the client specific transport route has been made. You can find this number in transaction IB52
Hope now u can move on with CHARM.
