Specifying How Item URLs Are Formed

oracle version 10.1.4
According to the documentation (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/portal.1014/b13809/items.htm#CIHIBIBA) it should be possible to use durable url's or path based url's for items.
When I add a page link to a region and set the region to show both the path based url and the durable url with the GUID, both url's are exactly the same. They both represent the durable url, unreadable for the end user.
How can I use the path based url, do I need some extra configuration?
example durable url:
http://myhost/portal/page/portal/21366734BB5046E0B6D095E1FE8745C1
There is absolutely no difference whether you specify the Link - Display Name or Link Display Name (durable) for my page links.

Oddly enough, I've noticed page links seem to always use the GUID regardless of settings selected. I guess that is just the way they work. Of course it is very nice that page links are security aware which is why I use them over URLs. I supposed you could get tricky in your template and convert the GUID to a path based URL, but that would be a fair amount of code and table lookups. I just live with the GUID on page links.

    Are you having problems with logoImage being undefined?
    Because, as you have it, logoImage only exists within the 'try' block.
    Either call topLogoHolder.setIcon(logoImage) within the 'try' block, or declare the logoImage outside the 'try' block and set it within the 'try' block.
    I'd say you might as well call setIcon within the 'try' block, if you don't need the logoImage value elsewhere. Because, if you get that exception that you are catching, your ImageIcon won't be initialized right, anyway.

    You can create a trigger(when-list-changed) for each list item where you could:
    1.recreate the record groups and then use POPULATE_LIST so you can hide the selected values. In forms builder online help there are some good examples about create record groups dynamically.
    or
    2.you can perform a validation instead of hiding the selected values. If the values is already selected the display a message 'Value already selected....'
    Second option is much faster(only an 'if clause')

    How to debug a form module (Oracle 11G Forms) through URL.
    My server OS is Unix. So i could not able to do the Debug Forms from the Form Developer.
    It is displaying a message that "Cannot find the module". Becuase the system is trying find out the module in Unix system instead of ma local system(Windows).
    I need to debug ma module through URL.
    I can place the fmb and fmx in predefined form path in Server.
    Please help me out to solve this issue..

    This is a little unclear. If your goal is to use the Forms Builder Debugger while running your form on a Unix machine, this can be done. However, the form must first be in running order. So before trying to attach the debugger you must first be able to start it without the debugger. For example:
    http://yourServer:OHS_port_number/forms/frmservlet?form=yourFMX
    Once this is properly running you can turn on debugging. If your form won't even start, then using the Debugger isn't going to help you because it is designed to troubleshoot coding problems and not configuration problems.
    So, do this to use the Debugger:
    http://yourServer:OHS_port_number/forms/frmservlet?form=yourFMX&debug=yes
    This will display a dialog box with some information. Do not click on OK yet as you will need this information to enter into the Forms Builder. Now, open the Forms Builder and click on Debug > Attach Debug. You will be asked for the information displayed in the dialog where you attempted to start the form. Enter it here (in the Builder) then click on ok in both places. To display the Debugger (in the Builder), click on Debug > Debug Console. Then from its toolbar click on the buttons related to what you want to monitor. Including a break point in your application code is often a more helpful way to use the debugger.

  • How does Item Supply/demand form  get populated?

    Hi,
    can anyone help me find out more documentations or understandings on Item Supply/Demand form in the Inventory, like how the calculations are done in that form, where it's pulling the data from, which tables,...things like that.
    Is it available in oracle user guides at all?

    Thank you for the response guys, but the actual issue for me is that there are duplicate rows for the same order number and item in MRP Work bench Supply/demand form of Purchasing User Responsibility although there are only single rows for them when viewed from the inventory responsibility. So, Could you please help me finding out the reason behind why there is duplicate data in the MRP supply/demand form??

    According to your description, after updating an item, you want to save it as a new item in the Form Library.
    In SharePoint Form Library, the items with names are not allowed to be created. In this scenario, after updating an item, a workaround is that you can submit the item
    as a new Form Library item with another name.
    To save the current editing item with a new name, we can use a formula to generate a date time string as the “File name”, then each time user submits an updated item,
    there will be a new form created in the Form Library.
    Here is the related formula I use in this scenario, you can change the formula according to your requirement:

    Could you please let me know how SharePoint HNSC can be configured with a reverse proxy server so that HNSC Share Point URLs are not exposed to end users.
    In normal path based site collections/web applications, reverse proxy configuration can be done using alternate access mappings with  Public URL = "proxy URL", internal = "HNSC Share Point URL" so that share point sends response back
    to Public URL = "proxy URL".
    In Host Named Site Collections,  alternate access mappings  are not supported. Each HNSC is designed to have only one URL in each zone. Zone is one of the five zones(Default,Intranet,Internet,Custom,Extranet) with each of which only one alternate
    URL is associated.  This is what we are able to get using power shell command "Set-SPSiteUrl", but this will not help us to get the response back to proxy URL after a request sent to share point because we could not find any mechanism in share
    point HNSC to respond  to a different URL(proxy URL). Consequently, Share Point URLs are exposed to  external users.
    Below share point article in MSDN blog is symmetrical to what we are observing with Share Point 2013 and Proxy Server. It mentions that internal HNSC URLs can’t be hidden using any proxy server. If  hiding the internal Share Point URLS is a requirement,
    it suggests to use a web application instead of host named site collections.
    Though I’m also observing the same behavior with Share Point 2013 HNSC, Could you please confirm my understanding is correct.

    You are right that only one URL is allowed for each zone of the host-name site collections in both SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013.
    It is by design that each host-name site collection only support one URL for each zone.
    The article below is about RTM version of SharePoint, and it is the same for SharePoint 2013 with the latest CU.

    So to make the URL of HNSC not exposed to external users is not supported, you need to use path-based sites instead.

  • Turning Open items which are partially payed into Close items.. How?

    Hello,
    In our company we use partial payment to Vendors using transaction F-59 and also automatic paymant of full amounts. Everything is working correctly but since we use very offen partial way of paymant, on transaction FBL1N I have a lot of open items and most of the time I don't know exactly how much do I own to vendor(s).
    To explain it easier I will show one simple example:
    1. I own to one of my vendors amount Eur 10.000
    2. Using transaction F-59 (partial payment) I pay him Eur 3.000
    3. When I open transaction FBL1N for that vendor and if I choose to show only Open items
    total amount shows me that I own him Eur 10.000 instead of due amount 7.000
    I understand that total amount of Eur 10.000 instead of Eur 7.000 is shown because we use partial instead of residual way of paymant but I would like to know is there any way I could manually turn these Eur 3.000 into close item because they are already payed?
    Searching through Internet I found that transaction F-44 could be used for similar but I am not sure it can do exactly what I need: to turn all partial payed open items to close items so for each vendor then I could see exact amount I own them.
    I hope someone can help me with this because I must solve it ASAP and it's slowing me down at my workplace and it would be great if I could manually close some open items, because they are already payed.

    Hi:
         Knocking off invoices against partial payments in F-44 is a standard procedure that is used to clear open item outstanding in Vendor ledger FBL1N. You should ideally clear partial payment in Residual Tab of F-44 and for remaining amount e.g 7 in your case you should double click in residual item column next to amount. By doing so system will also copy the original invoice reference to the partial document AB (with 7 amount) as per setting defined in OBA0 for residual item clearing.
    Line item 10 and its payment line item 3 are standing open in ledger because you did not apply them in F-44. You could have also directly apply them in F-59 of F-53. Partial document will be generated with document type as per setting you have defined in OBXH. Hope this will clear your understanding.

    Use the bookmarks library. You may use Shift +Click, and Ctrl + Click to create groupings of selected bookmarks to drag and drop.

    Thank you for the question.  This alert can mean that iTunes is recognizing applications on the iPad purchased by another Apple ID.  If anyone in your household has an Apple ID, try authorizing the computer with their Apple ID and attempt to sync.  If you are still experiencing issues, go through the troubleshooting steps in the attached article.

    Hi, first set the Profile 'Restricted Text Input' to 'No' for your User.
    Then create a form function like below:
    Functional Administrator > Core Services > Function > Create (button)
    Name: XX_GOOGLE
    Code: XX_GOOGLE
    Type: SSWA jsp function
    Maintenance Mode Support : none
    Context Dependance: Responsibility
    (press continue button)
    HTML Call: javascript:void window.open("http://www.google.com")
    Leave other fields blank
    Add to HR_EMPLOYEE_DIRECT_ACCESS_V4.0 menu:
    500 XX Google XX_GOOGLE
    This will pop up your external webpage in a new window.
    The issue is that it only works from the Navigator framework page (not from within Core Forms)

    I have requirement in Sp Designer 2010,Get List item URL and insert in another list as one column value.When open another list and click on same item  column entry url will show the parent item information.
    Here i have create work flow and insert item URL in another list but cant find appropriate item url information.I can easily make  item url link through String builder in mail body with using current id and predefine link,but
    when try to insert the same type of item link in another list where i cant find string builder for create custom url link,only get valur of Path,URL,Absolute URL and Relative server URL,all these links or not provide me exact
    item link dispaly information.
    So I opened SharePoint Designer and start creating the workflow associated to the list.
    As there is some Field from source related to current item URL I start using it
    Encoded Absolute URL – this one should be the one to use
    Server Relative URL
    URL Path
    Unfortunately, none of these options were providing the correct link. Indeed, these options are providing an incorrect path:
    Encoded Absolute URL
    http://wfe1/Lists/bpf/1_.000
    Server Relative URL
    /Lists/bpf/1_.000
    URL Path
    /Lists/bpf/1_.000
    As you can see, the item URL is composed by an ID while it should be http://wfe1/Lists/bpf/dispform.aspx?id=1

    Unfortunately, [%Current Item:URL%] doesn't seem to be available from a "Site Workflow" associated to a List.   I'm finding less advantages to doing a "Site Workflow" when I don't necessarily need to.  One problem is the workflow is initiating
    twice.   I'm thinking I should have just created the workflow as a a "List Workflow."  
    I am going to try "Association Columns" -- that may work.  Anyone have other suggestions?

    I am created an application ,where in i press a button which call another form having a menu .
    I select any one of the option from the menu ....i enter a number in the text item object of this form ....depending upon what option i have typed .....i would like to call another form ...
    My questions are
    1) Which trigger of this text item should be enabled,and what code to i write in this trigger ?
    2) Since this form is not having any database insert,delete ,update or query (select)
    it should directly go to the new form,whose option i provide in the text item .

    hey bro, i am assuming that ur text item contains the form name, any relevant trigger can be used for user action, like key-enter, post-change or key-next-item.
    to run a form u can use functions call_form or open_form with proper paramters.
    if u want to forward the entered text in the item, use global variable for the session.
    it doesnt matter if the form contains database items or blocks, all u have to do is run the form.
    e.g,
    declare
    VAR VARCHAR2-------;
    begin
    /* u can use the variable to concatinate or modify too, also can use global variable
    var:=:urblock.uritem;
    /* use ur own relevant parameters */
    open_form(VAR,ACTIVATE,NO_SESSION);

    Hello Everybody,
    I am using Sharepoint server 2013 , SQL Server 2012 SP1, PerfomancePoint and Reporting Services in SharePoint integrated mode.
    I built one report in SSDTusing an Analysis Services Cube. This report has 3 parameters. So the idea is use Dashboard Designer to use this SSRS Report and connect it with some PP Filters.
    The issue is that I am always obtaining "Unable to find report specified by URL,Please verify that both Server URL and Report URL are correct".
    I have the following settings in the PP Report:
    Server Mode: SharePoint Integrated
    SharePoint Site: http://MySharrepointSite:PortNumber/sites/bicenter
    Document library : Documents (selected from drop down, my report is deployed to document library)
    Report : report.rdl
    When I select the report from drop down list its giving the error in a pop up message box as "Unable
    to find report specified by URL,Please verify that both Server URL and Report URL are correct".
    I have tried to use the most simple report, only with one parameter, but is always displaying the error above.
    When I open the report directly from documents library its working fine and even it is working fine (
    when I deployed the report) but the issue is parameters are not showing.
    Any idea? Please help.

    Hello Tom,
    It should be "ReportServer" in the URL, not "ReportService".
    In "Reporting Service Configuration Manager" look up the correct URL. Open Internet Explorer with right-mouse click => "Run as Administrator" and open the URL, this should work. Navigate to "Side setting" (on top right side),
    go to tab "Security" and add your account with role "System Administrator". Afterwards you should be able to open the URL without running IE as admin.
