Speed issue with Action Listener

I have a JCombobox that has an action listener that waits for an action to be performed.
When I update the Combobox list by using removeAllItems() and then loop additem on an array to rebuild it, It take 14 seconds to rebuild the list.
When I remove my action listener, it does it instantly. I tried setEnable(false) on my combobox to disable the action listener temporarily while I update the combobox, but it doesn't appear to work.
Looking for a way to disable my listener temporarily to increase performance when I update it.
Thanks in advance.

Nevermind. got it.

  • Custom button with action listener - will not invoke action listener

    Hi
For whatever reason, I cannot find a concise example of a simple custom component that can invoke an action listener. The tutorials I've read so far either ignore this fundamental topic or only make the slightest make reference to it.
The best I have come up with - in terms of a simple prototype is below... but, the action listener is never invoked.... Can someone tell me what I am missing (full code below). Hopefully, what is missing or incorrect will be obvious to you JSF experts out there.
    Thanks for any help!!

  • New infinity line and major speed issues with almo...

    Hi,
Just has infinity installed after moving from my previous FTTC provider.  With the previous provider i was getting 16 down / 1-2 up and it worked great.
Had my my new inifnity line put in on thrsday and i am getting 17 down / 0.5 up!!
I work from home and connect to the office via vpn and remote desktop and its almost unusable.  Laggy, slow, unrepsonsive and is constantly dropping the connection with a failed to read from socket error and is making it very difficult to work form home effectively.
I have a 4g EE modem also and if i switch to this it is like lightening compared.
I also had absolutely no connection issues with my previous provider and as i posted above had a mich better uplink speed - which is where i think im getting most of my issues.
When i signed up to BT this is what i was sent via email:
We estimate your download speed will be 19.1Mb.
We estimate your upload speed will be 3.9Mb.
Im fine with the download but the uplink is shocking compared to the estimate - and as i had much better before i think something is amiss.
Also when i signed up i was told that if i had any connection issues with the new line i had to notify BT within 7 days and it woudl eb investingated but it seems there are so many roadblocks to creating support tickets etc.. Its like it s been hard to report a fault on purpose.
Where can i create a support ticket or similar to get this looked at?
    Thanks
    Damian

As you use the internet for work purposes did you have business broadband with your previous provider ?
This is the Residential forum. You may be better posting on the BT Business forum.

  • Issue with action 'Place' in CS3

I have been having an issue with an action I made. The action is:
    {Set Background
Set Layer Styles of current layer
    Image Size
    Canvas Size
    Place
    Move Current layer
    Save}
My issue is when it come to 'place' if the image is larger than the window it will center to the window not the canvas.
    The details of 'Place' are:
    filename.jgp
    Center: center
    Translate: 0 inches, 0 inches
I was wondering if there was anything in the action I should have added.
Also, could someone explain why it does this?

Thanks for the help. It worked, kinda...
It was already checked so I unchecked>applied. Tested it. It didn't properly scale the placed image
Went in checked it. Tested it. It worked like a charm.
Restarted PS with it still checked, tested the action and I had the orginal issue.
Checked my preferences and it was still checked.
    Unchecked>applied.
    Checked>applied -worked fine.
I'm assuming this is an error in the program that it is not properly reading the preferences. Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Ann

  • IPhone 4S - Wi-Fi Speed issues with Linksys 4500

I have a Linksys 4500 and have extremely slow wifi speeds.  I've changed every setting, channel and anything else that was editable.  However, I can never get very good download speeds (typically below 1Mbs) but the strange thing is that uploads are usually around 5Mbs.  I finally tried a Ruckus 7363 AP and I consistently get close to 20Mbs so I know it is the wi-fi with the linksys router.  Has anyone else had the same experience and did you find a fix?  Again, I've tried everything and the problem only appears on ios devices.  Macbook has no issues nor does my android devices.  thanks

I'm having the same issue.  My old iPhone 4 and the iPad 2 both connect seamlessly to iTunes (on WIndows 7), but the iPhone 4S doesn't sync automatically when plugged in to power.  Also it doesn't maintain a connection to iTunes over wifi.  For instance, right now iTunes isn't showing the iPhone 4S (but is showing the iPhone 4 and iPad 2) even though the iPhone 4S is on the same network, and is even connected to power.
When I try to sync from iTunes (when the phone shows up) or from the iPhone 4S, it fails saying that it failed to start the sync process.
Since the process works with the iPhone 4 and iPad 2, I'm assuming there must be some issue with the 4S, or another setting somewhere that isn't completely obvious.
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

  • Speed issue with TC and Airport Express 802.11n in WDS mode...

    Here is my problem.
I replaced my older base station / Express duo with
a new Time Capsule (1TB) and a new Airport Express (802.11n).
I set up the network with the TC as base station running a WDS network (WDS main) and the Express is the WDS remote.
When I check the wireless clients from the TC, I find my iMac running at 130Mbits and the Extreme at 54Mbits.
No other wireless clients are connected to the network (I kept my slower network as a parallel one for my "older" Macs).
The only other connected device is my Dish network DVR that is connected via an Ethernet cable directly to the Express.
So my question is why does the Express not communicate at >54 speed rate with the TC?
And, why does my iMac connect with 130 and not with 300Mbits?
    Any thoughts?

Instead of using WDS, you should take advantage of the "Allow this network to be extended" option that is available for the 802.11n AirPorts including the TC. WDS only operates in the 802.11g radio mode.
    Here's the basic setup:
o If practical, place the base stations in near proximity to each other during the setup phase. Once done, move them to their desired locations.
o Open AirPort Utility and select the base station that will connect to the Internet.
o Choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open the configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
o Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then click Wireless.
o Choose “Create a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then select the “Allow this network to be extended” checkbox.
o Next, select the base station that will extend this network, and choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
o Choose “Extend a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then choose the network you want to extend from the Network Name pop-up menu.
o Enter the base station network and base station password is necessary.
o Click Update to update the base station with new network settings.

  • Speed issues with Leopard or Kernel Panics try this..

I installed Leopard on a PB G4 1.5Ghz and was getting freezing, speed issues running Adobe apps and more recently kernel panics. Running Disk Utility did nothing.
But one thing worked wonders for me, hope it helps you.
Put the CD for Leopard in the machine and boot from it. Run Disk Utility and Repair Permissions of your hard drive.
It took 1 hour 30 mins but it wonders for me, so far....
    Hope it helps you.

    Funny eh?
I had a similar problem installing Leopard, installation went fine but when I restarted it wouldn't boot past the grey screen. I was disillusioned as I was eagerly waiting for Leopard, but I waited a few days and decided to boot from the install DVD and I repaired permissions, re-installed and it now works fine!
Must be a pre-requisite to use disc utility and fix those permissions!
    Go figure?

  • HT5642 WiFi speed issues with iPhone 4S since the update

Since the update the WiFi on the iPhone is terrible. I run a 50mb speed and barley get 2mb. My iPad is getting 39mb speed. Is there a problem with this update for the iPhone that affects WiFi speed?

I am having the same issue since updating to iOS 6.  It has been noticeable on my iPhone 4S and a little less noticeable on my iPad 3 but I think it is happening on the iPad too.  Very annoying problem.  One way to get it to work better is to re-boot your phone.  It will work for awhile then and then eventually not be working anymore and you will need to re-boot again.
Just to be clear with everyone - the iPhone looks like it is connected to the wireless, it gets an IP address but can't transmit any data.  Device:  iPhone 4S, OS:  iOS6

  • Speed issue with WDS, Airport Extreme, and Airport Express 802.11n

I have a Airport network set up using WDS and two airport base stations: an Airport Extreme 802.11n, and an Airport Express 802.11n. The Extreme is configured to be WDS main and is connected to my cable modem and other computers, while the express is WDS relay and acts as a switch.
I don't actually have any wireless clients connecting to the express. I'm using it to connect a mac with no airport card to the network by plugging it into the ethernet port on the express. For the most part, it works, and the mac gets a network address and can access the network. However, the connection speed from the Express to the Extreme seems slower than it should be.
Since both are 802.11n, and the Mac is plugged into the Express's 10/100 ethernet port, I figure the theoretical top speed that the Mac should be able to communicate with another device plugged into the Extreme is at around the same speeds as 100 mbps ethernet, since the 100 mbps ethernet connection should be the bottleneck in this case. In reality, the speeds are much slower: when I transfer files between a machine connected to the extreme (via ethernet) and my mac, the speed tops out at about 2 megabytes a second, if that.
I looked in the Airport Extreme's logs, and it indicates that the Express is only connected at 54 mbps, as though it were a 802.11g Express. I have no idea why this is! Also, the only wireless communication is between the Extreme and the Express, so one wireless device acting as a relay for another (and thus cutting the throughput in half) shouldn't be an issue.
Does anyone know why the speeds are so slow, and if there's anything I can do to improve them?

Hello Brian Kendall. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
I looked in the Airport Extreme's logs, and it indicates that the Express is only connected at 54 mbps, as though it were a 802.11g Express. I have no idea why this is!
That is because you established a WDS which only runs in 802.11g. Since you have two 802.11n base station, you would want to take advantage of the "Extend a network" feature available with these base stations.
    Here's a typical setup:
o If practical, place the base stations in near proximity to each other during the setup phase.

  • Speed Issue with EG008W ver 3

This is my first time writing on a forum so please forgive the long winded explanation. I just want to make sure I give all the details.
I currently own a WRV54G, WRT54G, and BEFSR41. My internet modem is connected directly to the WRV54G and the other two are connected directly to WRV54G also. The little network I had was working completely fine and I've never had any issues.
Last month I purchased a EG008W ver 3 in the hopes of speeding up my internal network since my laptop (vista 64 home), my HP media smart ex485 server, and my PS3 all have gigabit cards.
I removed WRT54G from the WRV54G and connected the EG008W to WRV54G. I then connected  my laptop, my HP mediasmart ex485 server, my PS3, and WRT54G to the  EG008W.
I didn't notice any speed changes in the last month so this week I decided to do a small speed test. Copying 5GB of files from my server to my laptop said it would take me 5 hrs. I connected my laptop to the WRT54G and tried copying the same files and it took just less than 10 minutes. I connected the laptop back to EG008W and tried copying the same files. I let it sit for 30 minutes then gave up.
I did an online chat with Linksys and told me to return it to the store. The store policy didn't allow exchanges but they did test it and it the EG008W worked fine for them.
I brought it back home and tried it with the following simple set up: Modem to WRV54G to EG008W. Then I connected just the latop and server to EG008W. I copied the same 5GB of files and it first seemed promising but after 15 minutes it still said 3 hours left. I would have liked a speed boost in my network but to have it slow down more than my wireless G connection is just not right.
I have cat5e cabling and patch cords. I have kept the cabling the same when I connect from the switch to the router when doing the tests.
Any help would be appreciated. I would also appreciate any new tests that I may try.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

According from what I understand, it seems that the switch is not working the way it should. After all the testing that you had, I suggest you better contact Linksys phone support for assistance. well if you were out side USA please contact them again via chat and let them know your concerns.

  • Network speed issues with TC

I have a couple gig of music in apple lossless format that I moved to shared drive on TC. The task took 20 hours for 4 gig. How can I speed up this network? If I burn a CD directly to the TC it is taking almost a hour per CD. I have an imac, mac mini, a mac notebook on the network plus a toshiba notebook and two squeeze boxes. Any advice? I figure with the toshiba off everything should be n speed.

I'm having similar issues. For months now, I have had super fast wireless speeds! 6, 7 + Meg per second. Now, suddenly, I'm barely getting 2 or 3. I thought, it might have been my ISP, so I tested my desktop, it was still getting info at speeds around 10 Meg. So then I checked out the trouble shooting guide in the users manual. It had a ton of suggestions on where to place the time capsule for optimum performance. I thought, well it always worked fine here before, but for arguments sake I'll try it. So I moved the time capsule to a location that was much more ideal according to the users manual, and... nothing... still 2 Meg speeds. It's really ******* me off, because when I go to purchase or rent a movie on my AppleTV it takes FOREVER to download, and sometimes I'll start a movie, and it stops half way through because my playback has caught up to the end of the download. This NEVER happened before, so if anyone has any suggestions... please help.

  • Issue with Action Links

    Hi All,
We have implemented the Action Links.
Issue: A particular order number is present in 14 different organizations.
when the order number and the Org Name is selected we are able to all the records.
We have included the Action Link column to the above request, then we are only able to see 3 records, the other organization records are not able to view.
SQL generated after including the Action Link column is
    select distinct T259660.SALES_ORDER_NUM as c1,
    T334186.BASE_ORG_NAME as c2,
    sum(case  when T265919.W_XACT_TYPE_CODE = 'Regular' and T262056.W_STATUS_CODE <> 'Cancelled' then T259660.NET_AMT * T259660.GLOBAL1_EXCHANGE_RATE else 0 end ) as c3

By executing these 2 generated queries we are able to see all the headers ids for a particular order same in both the queries.
But even then the results are not shown in the Answers.
Can any one have an idea how to fix it.
    Thanks in advance

For the action Links i have created a opaque view with the Query
    SELECT CAST(header_id as Varchar2(80)) as HEADER_ID
    +,fnd_run_function.get_run_function_url+
    +(+
    CAST

    +|| header_id+
    +|| '&pFunctionName=ISC_ORDINF_DETAILS_PMV&pMode=NO&pageFunctionName=ISC_ORDINF_DETAILS_PMV'+
    +,NULL) AS ORDER_HEADER_ACTION_LINK_URL+
    FROM oe_order_headers_all
When we created a request in the answers using the above opaque view, it is taking lot of time around 12 min.
when i executed the query returned from session log in the database it took less than a second.
not sure what causing the performance issue.
Can any one help me out.

  • Issues with Action Wizart to remove security

    Hi,
I am using action wizard in Adobe11 to remove security from group of files, but it asks for password for every file and also prompts to save the file for each file. In earlier versions I used to do this with batch processing and it used to ask the password only for the first file and assumed same password for remaining, this is not happening in Adobe 11. Any help of this is highly appriciated.
