SQ02 Infoset Query

Hi
When I'm trying to create an infoset query by using the trasaction SQ02 , while generating it's throwing the error
" Error in Parameter PYPARAID
    Statement concluding with "---Type" ended unexpectedly".
Can anyone pl help me in creating a query using sq02, sq03 and sq01.

    Hi, I´m working with BW 3.5 And I´m using infoset query(SQ02) for link two tables.
    The second table is linked with left other join, and I need more one condition in this table, I just want the data with max(date) in table two.

    I created a Infoset using SQ02 in R/3 and generated the query. Now I need to delete that Infoset query. Please advice me how to delete infoset query from the functional group in R/3.

    In SQ01 ,press shift+F7 then find your user group. then from infoset query tab ,select ur infoset.
    and try to delete , I think, it should work.

  • Populating Additional Field in InfoSet Query

    Hello,
    My team and I are working on generating a relatively simple report from the VBAK (Sales Header), VBAP (Sales Items) and VEDA (Date data) tables.  We would prefer to be able to build an InfoSet (SQ02) and Query (SQ01) instead of writing a custom report.
    The problem is the VEDA table contains data that may link to the VBAK and sometimes the VBAP table.  The usage is that the header has begin and end dates for a contract, which is denoted by a blank value in POSNR field in the VEDA table.  If a particular line on a contract has different dates than the header, there will be an additional record in the VEDA table where the POSNR value matches the POSNR value from the VBAP (Item) record.
    The link to the VBAP table is straight forward being keyed off of the VBELN (doc number) and the POSNR (item number) fields in both tables.  However, there's isn't a POSNR field in the VBAK (header) table and the VEDA table shows this as a blank value in the POSNR field.
    The simplest thing I can think of doing is link the VEDA table to the VBAP and let it retrieve all the exact matches on Sales Doc & Item Number but add two "Additional Fields" to the Query that would represent the Sales Header begin and end dates.
    I know how to add an additional field but how would you "re-query" the VEDA table and under which option under the Code tab.

    Please see if below example helps you to understand:
    Supposing, we are displaying material description within our query.
    1. So we define the join with MARA & MAKT while creating infoset in transaction SQ02.
    2. We create feild groups to identify the fiels we use for selection and display.
    3. Here after selecting language key from MAKT, by default this will take SY-LANGU always for the case.
    4. To make it applicable for different languages we can code in INITIALIZATION Event.
    5. To do so we can do it by two options: Use menupath: Goto->Code->Initialization
    i) First option using variable: <b>MAKT-SPRAS = SY-LANGU.</b>.
    ii) Second option using Parameter-Id: <b>SET PARAMETER ID 'SPR' FIELD SY-LANGU</b>.
    6. Save & Generate.
    Now when we execute the query, we are defaulting the language as System Language.

    Dear, it seems that you have changed the query in SQ02 and then just save it and not generated.
    or may be after generation again clicked on SAVE button.
    So untill unless you will not generate the query, it won't work.
    Secondly, by chanegs in the query, i don't think it changes the name of the main program.

  • BW Datasource on an Infoset Query based on 2 DSO Active tables

    Hello,
    We have created a Datasource in the BW system over an Infoset query (through SQ02) built on 2 DSO tables.
    In RSA3, this datasource is working fine - it shows us some data (close to 1000 records).
    The issue is when i try and run a infopackage for the datasource.
    The request times out and no records are fetched.
    I have added all the users to the Infoset user group - so, no issue with the authorization.
    IDoc Statuses changes from 53 --> 62 --> 64 --> 50.
    The extraction process does not complete - does not get the no. of records sent.
    Can anybody point to a probable cause here?

    IDoc logs do not say much.
    Status Record 53: IDoc was successfully transferred
    Status Record 62: IDoc passed to application; Direct call started
    Status Record 64: IDoc ready to be transferred to application; No filter, no conversion
    Status Record 50: IDoc added
    Then, it does not go any further.
    We're using the Datasource on the Infoset query because we could not use the traditional BW infoset.
    Datsource is used to feed a DSO as we directly could not use anything else (we're trying with an expert routine also).
    The issue is that the base DSO tables are huge and querying on them (using SELECT) is taking a very long time.
    So, we thought of using an Infoset to create a view and then populatet he data.
    In an traditional infoset, we could not specify a condition with a range. So, the infoset query through SQ02.
    I have not tried using an APD, but that might be a good option.
    Only thing, we'll have to use a Direct DSO - which i am not sure will satisfy our requirement.

    I am having the requirement as I need to put default values in the selecion-screen of the report by using  Infoset query. Let me know the settings required for this.
    I am using SQ01, SQ02, SQ03 T.Codes.
    And I need display  one record only if any field contains mulitple records, for example in the HR-ABAP, field p0105-usrid contains multiple values depending on the subtype.So, I need to display USRID when URSTY = '900'. All these should display by Infoset query only.
    Pls help me in this scenario , its an urgent requirement.I am very much thankful for you for reading my proble, if you will provide some sort of solution, I feel very happy.

    To default the values on your selection screen, you will need to do some ABAP I guess. (if you do not want to use variant). Open up the infioset in SQ02 and then goto code option for the PNP**** field and then you can code to initialize the selection screen variables. Test with an ABAPer.
    To display multiple records as multiple columns, you will have to create custom fields in infoset, and then go from there. Again see ABAPer.

    Hi,
    You can verywell use infoset query if you are doing following things
    Join using Keyfields to retreive data from tables
    If not using keyfields create index for those table fields  in those fields which will improve in accessing database
    Try to use minimum of tables of small size dont try to join big tables like GLPCA and all.
    Try to load small set of data like a period or month. Dont try for a year or so.
    if your performance is good for aperiod you can go for a year.
    If you are good in function module you can try function module in which you will have the option of specifying no of records to be selected usign package size.

    Hello Jogeswara,
    If you are creating an additional field in the query, then do the following when calling transaction code SQ02.
    1.  Click pushbutton labeled Extras and create an additional field.  Make sure that it is in character format and that its length is long enough to fit the two fields to be concatenated including a space in between (if desired).
    2.  Then click the CodingForAddition pushbutton for the field you created in step 1.  Enter your CONCATENATE command.
    Suppose you want to concatenate MARA-ERNAM and MARA-ERSDA into additional field NAME_DATE separated by a space.  Define NAME_DATE to be character of length 23 which is large enough to contain the maximum size of the concatenated fields plus a space.  You would enter the command below for the additional field. 
    CONCATENATE MARA-ERNAM MARA-ERSDA INTO NAME_DATE
    SEPARATED BY SPACE.

    Hello Jogeswara,
    Go back to the infoset using SQ02.  On the "Change Infoset" screen, go to the "Field groups" section.  You may have to click the "Field groups" pushbutton.  If you right-click on the field group, then you can create, change or delete a field group.  Add fields to a field group by dragging field from left-side of screen and dropping on the right-side of screen.

  • Infoset Query in Datasource.

    I'm using a Infoset query based on an ABAM program as a datasource. For passing parameters, form Infopack to the program I defined the parameters in the Infoset (SQ02 -> Extras -> Selections -> parameters). After doing this, when I include this Infoset in my new Datasource and save it, I'm not getting the paramter defined in the Infoset. All other fields in Infoset look fine. The parameter defined should appear in Datasource as PARAM_P_<param name>, which can be used as selection parameter in the Infopack. Can anyone tell what I'm missing out and where?

    Try testing your datasouce in your source system with tcode RSA3? Can you get data back from that?
    Have you defined that field as a selection field in RSO2?

  • Adding additional fields to an Infoset Query

    I have added a couple of additional fields to an infoset query using SQ02.
    I have also written code for filling in the fields.
    I have also added them to some Field Groups.
    Despite this, when I run the query, they are not being displayed in the output list.
    What could be the reason for this?

    goto change.. just below output, you have a drop down for field group and field catalog. select field catalog.

  • SQ02 InfoSet Get Count of Total Number of Records that will be processed

    I am developing a query (SQ01) and am currently working on building an InfoSet (SQ02). 
    The Infoset was set up using a 'Direct read of table'.  Next, I'm adding some various fields and then going to Extras and trying to define some code to get the total number of records that my query will be processing.  I'm not sure if SAP pulls a filtered result set into a temporary table (by default - if so how could I reference it?) that I can reference or is just pulling in a row at a time in the record processing code, but my question is in regards to getting a record count of how many records are returned in my result set PRIOR TO going through all of the records.
    Overall, I'd like to be able to have a field that says Record X of Y.  I can get the X part for each line, but cannot get 'Y' until the very end.  Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.  I've looked around a bunch, but haven't found anything like what I'm requesting.
    Query Output would look something like:
    Record X1 of Y | Title1 | Amount1
    Record X2 of Y | Title2 | Amount2

         I have tossed around this idea in my head, but am trying to figure out how to get the values and selection options from the query screen to incorporate into my Select statement within my infoset.  The problem I'm running into is that my user enters a group of account numbers and an ending date that has to be pulled from the SQ01 query screen to the SQ02 infoset code.  I've looked around for examples on pulling the data from the query screen, but have been unsuccessful thus far.  Say for instance I have 15 specific accounts that the user is entering in and they want any records that have been submitted prior to the end of the current month and the start of the business year.
         On my query screen they would enter in something like
    Business Year:  2011
    Reporting End Date:  <= 31.03.2011 (Which equates to all records between 01.01.2011 AND 31.03.2011)
    Account #s:  0000, 0001, 0003, 0005, ..., 9999  (These are a variable amount of accounts entered and could include options such as not equal to or even between ranges etc)
    In my START-OF-SELECTION code I would need a select like:
    NOTE:  This is just a pseudo code format, not checked for syntax here
    SELECT count(*)
    FROM TABLE
    WHERE BusinessYear = '2011' AND
        RecordDate Between 01.01.2011 AND 31.03.2011 AND
        Accounts IN (0000, 0001, 0003, 0005, ..., 9999).
    So In this select I need to reference the values in the SQ01.  How would I reference the account #'s and whether or not the user has entered an account number and said Not Equal on it etc.  This select statement would have to be built on the fly, since it's not guaranteed to be the same for each run.

  • Infoset query with KNB1 customer's ADRC information

    An explanation into the problem:
    I'm trying to create an infoset query with KNA1, KNB1 and ADRC which would do the following:
    In KNA1-SORTL we hold customer numbers which can be found from KNB1. This query should:
    Display KNA1-KUNNR and relevant address data for this customer via connection KNA1-ADRNR and ADRC-ADDRNUMBER. Then it should check KNA1-SORTL- field and if it corresponds to KNB1-KUNNR, it should go back to KNA1 with this KUNNR and display all this customer's relevant address data via this customer's KNA1-ADRNR to ADRC-ADDRNUMBER.
    I'm relatively new to infoset coding and ABAP in general, plus I'm self- taught so please bear that in mind.
    I'll give an example as to what I've managed to do so far. In SQ02 I joined tables KNA1(left outer join)KNB1 and KNA1(join)ADRC and created an extra field ZADRNR to see if I could display the ADRNR for the customer number found in KNB1.
    Something along the lines of:
    IF KNB1-KUNNR = KNA1-SORTL.
    SELECT SINGLE ADDRNUMBER FROM ADRC INTO ZADRNR
    WHERE ADDRNUMBER = KNA1-ADRNR.
    ENDIF.
    Obviously this doesn't work. Pseudocode would look like this:
    Check field KNA1-SORTL
    IF KNA1-SORTL = KNB1-KUNNR THEN
    GO BACK TO KNA1 with this KUNNR and display it's ADRC.
    KNB1 sadly doesn't maintain an ADRNR of it's own, or this would be much simpler.
    Any help or advice is much appreciated, so far I've only been coding a few lines in infosets with ABAP so I'm not all that familiar with it. I've managed to create several queries through trial and error, mostly, and this forum and it's articles have helped a great deal.
    Please let me know if I should provide any additional information, and my apologies if I posted this in the wrong forum area.

    Unfortunately excluding space entries in selection screen wouldn't solve the issue, since we have KNA1-ADRNR for each entry, it's just that it would be different for customers found in KNB1.
    I could probably solve this by making two separate queries and working on them in excel and that way we would have the necessary information.
    But in order to do this in SAP seems to mean that I have to write a custom report. For that, it seems I'll be spending New Year's eve learning how to ABAP
    Thank you for your help, at least we don't have to struggle with finding out a way to do this via queries so we'll just find alternative means for this.

    Hello Vinay,
    You have three transactions to accomplish this.
    SQ01 Is to create the query itself
    SQ02 Is to create the infoset that can contain queries.
    SQ03 Is to create the user group
    First things first:
    1. SQ02 Create an infoset and define the master join table (for joined queries) or the master table for queries on a single table. Remember that all the tables you might need in the queries you create in this infoset must be defined here! Once you have assigned the necessairy tables, define the fields you'll need for these tables.
    After this is all done, generate the infoset.
    2. SQ03 Create a user group. Then assign all the necessairy users that are allowed access to the user group and the infosets that are contained in the user group (so assign the infoset you just created in step 1)
    3. SQ01 Enter a query name and press create. Now your infoset should be listed in the input help (if not, make sure your username is assigned to the usergroup you created in step 2)
    Now you can start creating your query!
