Sql:99 to non-sql:99 coversion using JDBC ?
Can anyone tell me if JDBC can be used to convert sql:99 syntax to non-sql:99 syntax ?
Hi Terry Qin,
I understand, you are getting below XML from sender JDBC channel. But when you getting SAX parser error, in receiver JDBC.
<ns:DT_PDF_Req xmlns:ns="http://XXXXX.com/sap/xi">
<row>
<ID>1</ID>
<PDF></PDF>
</row>
</ns:DT_PDF_Req>
I think it is because the XML which is going to receiver JDBC channel is not well formed (because pdf can containg < & characters).
You can achive this sceanrio, by selecting receiver JDBC channel as Message Protocol "Native SQL Format" [Link1|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/44/7c24a75cf83672e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm] you can send non XML to receiver channel.
Before that, you have convert above input XML into SQL statement, using Java Mapping.

Problem connecting to SQL Server from JDeveloper 10g using jdbc third party
I am using Oracle 10g Jdeveloper and I tried to setup a database
connection to SQL Server using various Drivers for JDBC as Merlin, jtds, inet.tds, etc.
(I had no problem to set up a connection to an Oracle Database using the
Oracle JDBC driver).
When I am testing the connection throughout the wizard, I do receive
this error message: "Unable to find driver:
com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver".
I m not understanding from last 3 days where to place the corresponding JAR files so thaI may not get the Error.
When I hit n trialed at various directories of the JDeveloper as </rootDir/jdbc/lib>
</rootDir/lib>
</root/jdev/my Work/Application1/Project1/public_html>
</root/jdev/my Work/Application1/Project1/public_html/web-inf/>
when I tested the connection I do received:
"Unable to find driver:
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxxxxx Unable to find driver:
Obviously it can't locate the Micrososft JDBC driver but I can't
figure out why.
I tried all kind of things without any success. Is somebody can help
me and took me beyond this.
I m trying to build DataSource connection from JavaBeans.
Please make me out of this cave. I m not finding any of the way to do this.
The last code I tried is
try {
Class.forName("com.inet.pool.PoolDriver");
com.inet.tds.TdsDataSource tds = new com.inet.tds.TdsDataSource();
tds.setServerName( "local" );
tds.setDatabaseName( "bluff" );
tds.setUser( dbUserName );
tds.setPassword( dbPassword );
DataSource ds = tds;
Connection con = ds.getConnection(dbUserName,dbPassword);
Statement stmt;
ResultSet rs = null;
Thanks,you are confusing me at least as your error is discussing the microsoft driver yet you are configuring the inet datasource.
I do not use JDeveloper, but you need to make sure that whatever is servicing your web app/JavaBean has access to the driver. Not sure why you are not doing a JNDI look up of the resoure, but because you are not you can stick the driver jar in the lib directory within the WAR bundle. I would suggest that you add the driver to the lib/ext or the lib directory which is loaded at boot time for your web container and then use JNDI to look up your DataSource to reduce your coding maintenance headaches. -
How can i connect to SQL Server 7.0 on Windons Using JDBC
How can i connect to Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 on a windows enviroment ?
in sql server 2000 some jar files are required that is
What you need to do is actually add all three jar files to your class path individually. There are three jar files that come with this driver the msbase.jar, msutil.jar, and mssqlserver.jar. for sqlQ server 2000.
now the problem is that i cant find these files on my system. firstly where these files will be located. secondly are they will be used to connect to SQL Server 7.0. thirdly if not what is the procedure.
My next Problem is that I have Websphere Studio Application Developer. in which their is this facility of Database Webpages its like a wizard which makes automatically beans servlets and JSP but before that you need a Driver Name and and Class Name for to Connect to the Database.
Can you tell what is the specific Driver Path for the Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 . secondly is this the class which is used to connect to SQL server 7.0 "com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver" where can i find this one. for SQL server 7.0.
please provide some guidance in this regard.You can search for the JDBC drivers at, http://industry.java.sun.com/products/jdbc/drivers
All the three jars that you specified are part of MsSQL Server jdbc driver. You need them (in the classpath) to get connected to the database.
"com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver" is the class in mssqlserver.jar. This is the driver class which will be used to get connected to the database.
You can search in this forum for writting jdbc code (for Sql Server). If you don't find these jars, give me your e-mail id.

Problem using JDBC and MS SQL Server
I got a problem trying to acces a database on my SQL Server. I created the table and my connection seems ok, but when i try to get some data from a table, this happens (see below).
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Invalid object name 'players'.

at sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcStatement.executeQuery(JdbcOdbcStatement.java:253)
at Team.<init>(Team.java:18)
at Simulator.main(Simulator.java:5)
here's the code that i used to access the db with:
Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection
("jdbc:odbc:BRAIN2WINXPPJH","sm","sm");
Statement stm = conn.createStatement();
String query = "Select * from players where teamnr = " + nr +
" order by squadnr";
ResultSet rs = stm.executeQuery(query);
any help is more than welcome
tnx
JoIf all the tables are in the same database, you can use
Connection.setCatalog("db-name")
to change the current database. But the suggestion to include the database name in the SQL statement is safer, because you do not need to worry about changing the database at the right point.

Urg:Executing SQL From Java App using Jdbc Driver
Hi
I am using JDBC Driver version 9.0.1.1.0.
I am running this in Thin Client Mode
My Code Snippet Looks Like This:=
==========================================================
String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:VpDb";
String userName = "scott";
String password = "tiger";
Connection conn = null ;
Statement st = null ;
ResultSet rs = null ;
String categoryCode="ABC";
try
conn = DriverManager.getConnection (url, userName, password);
st = conn.createStatement ();
String sqlStatement = "Select Count(*) From News Where CategoryCode=" +"\'" + categoryCode + "\'" + ";";
System.out.println(sqlStatement);
rs = st.executeQuery ( sqlStatement );
if( rs.next() )
System.out.println("Headline Exists");
else
System.out.println("No Headline Exists");
catch (SQLException e )
System.out.println();
System.out.println (" SQL ERROR IN IS_NEWS_EMPTY: " + e) ;
=========================================================
I have added the classes12.zip and nls_charset12.zip in the classpath.
Now when i run this it gives me an error saying the following error message:-
SQL ERROR IN IS_NEWS_EMPTY: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00911: invalid character
Can anyone help me with this as to whats going wrong because the exact equivalent of my sqlStamenet runs on SQL command line but not from java code.Why??
Any Help appreciated
Thanks
MumI think it is complaining about the ";" that you add at the end of your string. You don't need to add that to the query.

(java.sql.SQLException) [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Connection is busy with results for another hstmtYes, you can do that. For testing purposes you can also create simple files (with mkfile) and add these to ASM. That way you could also experiment with deleting files and see what happens in ASM

Connecting to SQL Using JDBC - Help!
Hi All
I am looking to create some conections to various custom SQL DBs so that I can produce reports and queries using visual composer. I have various Stored procedures DTS and tables I need to access.
I have no idea where to start with this, only that I need to use JDBC. Does anyone have or can point me in the right direction on how to set up these systems in the portal. I have EP7.0 SP8.
Many thanks for your help and time
PhilHi Phil,
you can find a good example on:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/visualcomposer?rid=/library/uuid/16244247-0a01-0010-3294-d81c21e7e86e
With JDBC Systems you can call stores procedures and with BI JDBC Systems you can see the tables and views.
You can create a standar JDBC using the portal Wizard and the BI JDBC systems with:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6209b52e-0401-0010-6a9f-d40ec3a09424
Best Regards.

I want to use jdbc to connect MS SQL SERVER
hi,
I want to use jdbc to connect MS SQL SERVER,not the jdbc-odbc bridge.
I download the driver from MS,deploy it,but when I connect the database such as:
<%Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");%>
<%String sConnStr="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://computer2000:1433";%>
<%Connection conn=DriverManager.getConnection(sConnStr,"sa","123");%>
<%Statement stmt=conn.createStatement();%>
but it said
javax.servlet.ServletException: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
how can i work out this problem
maybe my configure is wrong,please give me a successful sample configuration
thanks a lotHi,
I am not sure where you have got the following code from
Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
What happens here, is Java Runtime will search for the Class named:
com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
If this Class is not in the Runtime Classpath, it will throw the Error that you have got. Kindly get the proper driver as well as ensure that the Class is available in the Runtime Classpath.
Thanks and regards,

How do I execute the .SQL fileYou have a file which has SQLPLUS script.
Nothing you do will make SQLPLUS command statements work via JDBC.
There are only two options.
1. Create a PL/SQL which does the same thing.
2. Use SQLPLUS and do not use jdbc.
