SQL Developer 3.2 does not show warnings
In SQL developer 3.2, I am trying to compilie package. After compilation it shows following message in script output
PACKAGE BODY package_name_pkg compiled
Warning: execution completed with warning
Everytime I need to use 'SHOW ERRORS' command to see all above warnings.
Is there any other way to see these warnings without using show errors ?
--Swarup
Yes, you need to use the Procedure Editor.

Hi, I upgraded SQL developer yesterday to the latest version. Now I don't see anything any more in the datagrid, columns, constraints, etc ...
Connection is OK, in the explorer (to the left) I see tables and columns, in the datagrid (table properties) I don't see anything.
Here is the contents of the about box
Many thanks

Query on SQL Developer Connections Tree Does Not Display Objects
Hi Gurus, Could you please clarify on the below. As per the note ID 1458753.1, SQL Developer Connections Tree Does Not Display Objects to user in order to access database objects outside the owned schema/account. ------------------------- By default, and without granting wide privileges such as DBA, a user will only see his or her own objects in the first level object nodes under their connection. Objects in other schemas must be accessed via the Other Users node under the connection. This is the intended functionality/display in SQL Developer. ------------------------- Is there any other way we can achieve this? Requirement is very common - user A owns all objects and user B granted read/read-write privileges on user A objects. Now user B wants to Display user A objects in the corresponding objects node of SQL developer. Could any one shed some light here? Thanks Venu
First off, there is a dedicated SQL Developer forum where lots of the developers hang out. Those folks are way more knowledgable that we are about the tool.
That said, I have no problem displaying dates. Do you just have a problem with this particular query/ field/ table? Or does it affect all dates? What version of SQL Developer are you using? 1.1 is out now.
Justin -
SQL Developer tool sometimes does not display data with date type
run the following query using the sql developer tool -
select effective_date from table1 where id = 123;
(the effective_date is stored in the database as date.)
one record is returned with no date in the filed.
However, if I change the query to
select to_char(effective_date, 'mm/dd/yyyy') from table1 where id = 123;
one record is returned with effective date.
Why?

Analysis does not show all rows returned by SQL
Hi.
OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0
I have a strange problem. I have a simple table that should return customer number and sales. The report will show all of the sales, but it does not show all the customer numbers. The SQL that OBIEE creates does return all of the customer numbers. When I remove the sales and just include the customer number, the report only shows a couple of the customer numbers (it should show several hundred).
I guess what I'm looking for is any advice for how to debug this. I have spent about 3 days on this problem, so I have tried to look at it from every angle (data, RPD, report).
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you.Thank you for your reply.
New development. The issue has to do with a descriptor ID column. The customer number column is a varchar field and I set the descriptor ID column to the column_ID field. When I remove the descriptor ID setting, I received all custom numbers. -
Autotrace does not show SQL Query Results
In the previous versions of SQL Developer, the query results will be shown in the Results tab when running the SQL using Autotrace. However, in SQL Developer v2, I cannot find the query results when I run the SQL using Autotrace. Are there any options or settings to turn on the query results in autotrace?
Please do not duplicate threads (original Autotrace does not show Query Results only makes you and all of us lose time.
If nobody answered, that would probably indicate a NO.
You can request this at the SQL Developer Exchange again, so other users can vote and add weight for possible future implementation.
Sorry,

The new value of bind variable does not show up after changed by PL/SQL
Hi,
I am running APEX 3.2. I use PL/SQL process to assign a new value to a bind variable, say, :P2_TEST := 123. The new value does not show up on the page although I can see it in the Session status.
How can I make the new value to be displayed on the page immediately after the process is run?
Kind regards,
TeeMaybe you could use an ajax routine to refresh the item in your pl/sql routine?
Thank you,

Oracle apps Data does not show in Discoverer
When running my query in sql developer, I have to execute the command apps.fnd_global.apps_initialize(user_id, resp_id, resp_appl_id) in order to show the result of my query. Without this, the query returns nothing. The problem is I am using this query as a custom query for my Discoverer report and my report does not show any record. Anyone knows how to handle this?
Hi,
There can be many reasons why a Discoverer report does not return data, but I don't think it will be because the session is not apps initialized. Check that the language has been set correctly, using the calculation userenv('lang').
As I don't know anything about your environment, it is a bit hard to guess what else might be causing this issue. Is there anything different about this report? What is the custom query that you are running?

OraDb10g_home1 does not show up in ODBC
I've started the tutorial: Creating a Repository Using the Oracle Business Intelligence Administration Tool
Locagted at: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_bi/bi_ee_1013/bi_admin/biadmin.html
I've Installed (in the following order)
Oracle Express 10g
Oracle client 10g
Microsoft .Net Framework SDK 2.0
Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Visual Studios 2005
Oracle ODAC Home1 (Oracle Developer Tools)
Oracle Business Intelligence Suite
In the tutorial we are asked to craete an ODBC Data Source. The data source is supposed to use driver Oracle in OraDb10g_home1. This does not show up in my list of data sources. I believe I have installed everything that was required for this tutorial and for the BI Suite. Can you please advise as to what I need to do to get this data source installed or to show up?

SYSHi,
the column object_name refers to a object_name which is 'JOBS', the column owner refers to the owner 'HR', the value isn't stored together, so you have to select the two columns. It is the same behaviour as every other table/view. Have a look at the values in the view DBA_OBJECTS.

Dynamic Portal Page does not show but called procedure behind it works
Hi I run into a bug that I try to solve unsuccessfully for 2,3 weeks. Here is the problem. I have portal dynamic page that execute a PL/SQL procedure to delete and insert data into a remote app table. When I compile and execute the procedure in Toad it does not give me any error or warning. But when I execute this procedure in my dynamic page the page does not show up but I check the results and data does delete and insert. So my procedure works behind the scene but the page does not display. As I look into detail of my code I found out that when I rem out the insert statement my page does show up and delete the data but when I put back the insert statement my page does not show up and data insert to the table. Here is my code structure of my procedure in plain words. I have a procedure that have a cursor for loop that
check if a certain condition exists if it is then it will delete data from the remote app table then insert a select statement data from 2 joins tables. Any one have run into similar situations like this and have any idea, please help. Thank you all.The scripts for this should have shown as:

CFGRID does not show data (CF9.0)
Under development server, CFGRID show data , all is fine , correct. (CF9.0 version dev)
Under production server , CFGRID does not show data, only a grey line (like a HR).
How to debug this ?
Thanks,Kindly check below to troubleshoot this issue:-
Is there any difference between your CF production & developement server setting summary?
Is there any browser script level difference between your both CF server?
Are you getting any relevant logging error in your CF server application.log & exception.log?
Run a very simple cfgrid running app to check, either getting issue with that too or not. -
