Sql developer in win 7 shows UAC

hi,
we are trying to use sql developer 3.1 in one of our win 7 machine.
we are receiving UAC(user access control screen) when we are trying to use sqldeveloper.exe. our users does not have admin previlages. so we not want the UAC to block anything
did anyone faced this issue?
if so how did you resolve this?
thanks for helping.
regards,
Anitha S

If you want to run Java 7 you'll need to use at least version 3.2.20.09 of SQL Developer - otherwise go grab a 1.6 JDK

  • Problems with sql developer and win 8 64 bit

    Hi there,
It's my first time in this forum, I am a student programmer and I have many problems to install SQL Developer on Oracle Database 12c. I actually managed to install both, but I could not make them work. My question is SQL Developer works on the Windows 8 platform 64-bit?
I'm going crazy, help me please .... Thanks for a while!!!

SqlDeveloper should have no problem working in Win 8, but i do not think it's a supported platform yet.
The Database could be a little more troublesome, if you only need a working database environment to make experiments you could find the "pre-built" Virtual Machines useful.
For Win 8 and 12c try using the EA release of SQLDeveloper 4, because if I'm not mistaken the current 3.2.2 could have some problems with 12c.

    Which version of sqldeveloper?
    Which version of Oracle?
This sounds like an old bug where sqldeveloper checked for 'select any table', but you actually need 'select any dictionary'

  • SQL Developer objects not showing DDL

Greetings! First time posting here on the Oracle forums, so hopefully I can be as specific as possible :)
I'm having an issue with displaying the SQL that makes up an object, specifically a VIEW.
    Here is the scenario:
I log on as an IT user - WDSQUERY (this account can be used my multiple folks for querying in different schemas). I navigate down to other users and expand that node. I find the schema I want to use, ALCHEMY, and expand that node.
It now places me in the ALCHEMY realm we'll call it. I should be able to see all the different objects owned by this schema (assuming permissions are set up). I click on the 'VIEWS' node to expand all the view objects. I can see the data and columns. What I cannot see is the SQL that generates that view, and I have no idea why.
Co-worker of mine uses Toad, and he can do the exact same scenario (same user id, goes to same schema, etc.), however when he clicks on the 'Script' tab, it will generate the SQL that builds that view. Which leads me to believe this isn't a permission issue, because he's on the exact same user_ID.
Is there some option I don't have checked somewhere in SQL Developer? The current work around for this is that I simply query the DBA_VIEWS where owner = 'ALCHEMY', and then pull out the name/text of the view I want. But....still this is just one of those things I want to know why it isn't working.
Here are the little ORA codes I'm getting when trying to view the SQL code of the VIEW:
ORA-31603: object "PO_LINE" of type VIEW not found in schema "ALCHEMY"
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 105
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_METADATA", line 2806
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_METADATA", line 4333
    ORA-06512: at line 1
Any help would be GREATYLY appreciated!

    Hi,
If you can see the objects in the 'Other Users' schema, then I would imagine your user_ID has the SELECT ANY DICTIONARY system privilege. Seeing the data and DDL requires additional privileges, however. I haven't looked deeply enough to be absolutely sure, but there are two or three methods that SQL Developer uses:
    1) If you have SELECT ON <other user_ID>.<viewname> object privilege, then you can see both data and DDL.
    2) Otherwise if you have EXECUTE ON DBMS_METADATA you can see the DDL (except it may depend on other privileges too(?)).
Sorry I don't have time to dig deeper into DBMS_METADATA. It works on some of my connection users but not others. And, of course, privileges like SELECT ON DBA_VIEWS always give one an unfair advantage.
    Hope this helps,

  • Don't  Oracle SQL Developer show Object tables ?

    Hi
when I create a table of an object in oracle the SQL Developer don't show it in Tables tree
my mean is that SQL Developer don't show object tables that are defined in user_object_tables or dba_object_tables
in Tables tree (while other tools such as PL/SQL Developer do it)
do you know that is there any solution for showing object tables in Table tree in SQL Developer ?
    thanks

Any updates on this? I have the same problem. "Types" only shows the object types, but not the tables based on these object types.

  • SQL Developer, UTF8 Oracle DB, extended ascii characters appear as blocks

I have this value stored on the database:
    (Gestion Económica o Facturaci
Notice the second word has an extended ascii character in it. When I use SQL Developer on my windows machine to view the data, I get a box in place of the o, kinda like this:
    (Gestion Econmica o Facturaci
If I log on to the AIX server where the oracle database in question is and run sqlplus from there, I see things properly. I also managed to regedit oracle home to get sql plus on my windows machine to display this properly. I still cannot get sql developer to work though...
    Details about sql developer:

This problem is quite strange in that when I've been able to manually set American_america.utf8, things work.Sorry to say, but it seems you may have an incorrect setup.
In general, you should set char set part of NLS_LANG to let Oracle know the code page used by the client. With win-1252, NLS_LANG should include .WE8MSWIN1252.
The display from sqlplus was "lying", due to incorrectly stored data coupled by incorrect nls_lang setting (char set part). The pass-through or gigo scenario can be dangerous this way. Search the Globalization forum for the term 'pass-through' for previous discussions on the theme.
The setting on AIX servers may be incorrect as well, but it depends how you use it (e.g. for database export or data load with utf-8 encoded files it may be correct).
The output of the query you recommended looks odd to me:
    (Gestion Econmica o Facturaci     Typ=1 Len=30 CharacterSet=UTF8:
28,47,65,73,74,69,6f,6e,20,45,63,6f,6e,f3,6d,69,63,61,20,6f,20,46,61,63,74,75,72,61,63,69;This is the telling part. The 0xF3 is not legal in UTF8. Actually, the code units for ó, U+00F3 Latin small letter o with acute, are C3 B3. So instead of f3 you should have expected c3,b3 from the dump output.
    >
So it looks like what's under the covers is correct, but I'm still not seeing the correct character in sql developer. The opposite is true. Data is incorrectly stored and SQL Developer is correctly showing you this. Sqlplus is not the best tool in Unicode environments, SQL Developer is better.
    >
ACP according to my windows registry is 1252. OEMCP is 437Also, if you use database clients in console mode (such as sqlplus), NLS_LANG should include .US8PC437 to properly indicate that code page in use is 437.

  • Problem in SQL Developer installation

Recently i installed Oracle 11g but i could not connect sql developer. when i click sql developer icon it show pop-up box....
"*Enter the fullpath name for java.exe*".
i dont know from where i can get this path so that i can open sql developer.

It's asking for an installed JDK 1.6
If you do not have it you can download one from here:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-6u30-download-1377139.htmlMind you need the 64 bit JDK if you want to use the 64 bit SQLDeveloper and the 32 bit JDK for use with the 32 bit SQLDeveloper.
If you want to use the 32 bit SQLDeveloper you can also download the version with bundled JDK from here:
http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper-3.0.04.34.zipthis will not ask for a java.exe since a JDK in included in the package.

  • SQL Developer not fetching data tables while writting query

HI , I have recently started using SQL developer 2.1, the problem i face is that SQL DEVELOPER is not showing the tables names while writting the query, we have more than 5000 tables and each table name cannot be remembered.
    Thanks
    Essa

I'm using the Mac version of SQL Developer (Version 2.1.1.64 | Build MAIN-64.45) and I'm having similar problems. I'm currently using OS X Snow Leopard.
The issue does not happen consistently: If I start writing an anonymous block in a new SQL window, the Completion Insight features works well. I can start typing a name of a package (of which there are many in our db) and I'm quickly provided a list matching what I've typed so far. This is also true of variables, functions and procedures within the packages after I type a period following the package name.
However, if I open an existing package body and start editing, the Completion Insight feature becomes less reliable. If I move my cursor to the beginning of the main block of one of the package body's internal procedures, Completion Insight works. As I move down the package and try to insert new code, Completion Insight stops working. I should note that this package body I'm working with has no errors and compiles fine. I'm not sure what this indicates...whether it's an issue with the editors internal parser or some other issue.
I'm not sure the best method for starting SQL Developer via the console window on the Mac. I found the following sh file which does launch it from terminal:
    /Applications/SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/MacOS/sqldeveloper.sh
This does launch the application. As I navigate around and follow the instructions you had given (including ctrl-space) I see no output generated out to the console (errors or other messages).
I'm happy to assist in further debugging. Having Completion Insight work consistently will certainly increase my productivity with the tool.
Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

  • How i can deal with DB schema in SQL developer ?

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post , how i can make sql developer just to show one schema ?
    Thanks

What the Natalka wanted to say is so that the
hardwired user does not visualize none another user
when clicar in the option 'Other Users'.
For this, you must clicar with the right button of
mouse on the option 'Other Users', 'Apply Filter' and
to move for the panel of the left all the users who
you do not want that they are visualized.
It is not this what you want? If possible, detail
    more its request.
Remembering that each user in the Oracle is
corresponding to one schema.by the way, how can I create tables in sql developer if I don't see the one I have already created thanks

  • Sql Developer and Data Guard enabled instance

I have version 1.1.2.25 SQL Developer and when I try to connect to Oracle 10gR2 instance which is data guard enabled and its logical standby it spits few message, and then connects, but data is not visible from any table.
Is there any way to see data and other code while in logical standby instance which only in read only mode?
    Thanks.

This problem came when I tried to connect to Oracle
instance which is a logical standby in data guard
setup. Eventually connection is made and then you can
    not see any object.
In logical standby database its suppose to be read
only and should be available for query.
In TOAD you can see every thing and when you want to
make any change ,it spits an error and wouldn't allow
    you to make any change.
My question was, why SQL Developer is not showing the
objects in the list and its contains.Perhaps we could help you if you told us what the error was.
