SQL errors in SMS_STATE_SYSTEM - Trying to write NULL values to PropertyLocale

Hi!
We are getting a lot of the following error in the SMS_STATE_SYSTEM:
Microsoft SQL Server reported SQL message 515, severity 16: [23000][515][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'PropertyLocale', table 'CM_I20.dbo.CatalogAppModelProperties'; column does not allow
nulls. UPDATE fails. : usp_BuildCatalogPropertyTable
Please refer to your Configuration Manager documentation, SQL Server documentation, or the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further troubleshooting information.
I understand what this message means but i cant find which applications are causing the problem.
(actually i think I do but I still get the error messages after deleting them..)
It seems it's trying to write NULL-values twice every 5 minutes, but from "where"? What is telling it to update the row with a NULL value?

Here are part of the statesys.log - It's not very helpful ;)
Seems it's the  'Update Application Catalog Tables'-task who is responsible for the mess.. But it does not say anything about the application..

    Hi Phil,
    Thank you for your questions. Have you uninstalled Office 2007 from the machine before the Office 2013 installation?
    I believe you've already seen this KB article before, the steps above are quoted from it:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838687
    As can been seen from the article, the steps above are specific to Method 4. There are three other Methods mentioned in the article, have you ever tried them? If not yet, I would suggest you to have a try:
    Method 1: Set the permission for the Everyone group of the registry subkeys that are listed in the error message to Full Control.
    Method 2: Disable the third-party application.
    Method 3: Try the installation again in
    Let me know if the issue persists after the steps above, we'll take a further look then.

  • Error message when trying to write DVD

    I have been trying to write a file to DVD on my iMac and first the DVD was written, but then the drive said it could not read it. That happened 3x with new discs. Then when I tried to do it again with a new disc a 5th time I received this message:
    The drive reported an error:
    Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR
    Sense Code = OX11, OX05
    L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR
    Does anyone know what this means at all?
    Thanks

    Have you checked the dvd for scratches? I received my new imac yesterday and it is scratching the discs, which is not a new problem with these machines. Put a new disc in and eject it before checking for scratches. They will likely be a row of horizontal scratches. Just an idea. Don't let Apple tell you that they don't know about the problem, because they absolutely do and they are still shipping imacs that scratch the discs.

  • Write NULL value in 2D array

    Hi,
    I use LabVIEW 6.1 for some speed measurements. Sometimes it happens that my software was not able to calculate a speed or it finds the found value not worth mentioning, and that is OK.
    And after the measurements I write the results to Excel in a 2D array using DDE. But when there is no speed recorded Labview fills up the empty spaces with zero values. But I don't want that because it will affect my statistics like the mean.
    Is there a way to write NULL (empty) values to excel instead of the 0?
    Thanx in advance.
    Illustration:
    (x) (y) VALUE
    1 2 23.5
    2 3 45.78
    3 4 <----- Here I don't want LabVIEW to put a zero (0) but an empty space.
    4 5 12.23

    Excel does not support the concept of NaN so if you do not want to convert to string first, insert NaN yourself into your 2D array and modify the cell update to check for NaN and do not set the cell value if NaN

  • Medium error when trying to write dvd's

    I am getting the following "medium error" message when trying to write to dvd's. This has happened to numerous DVD-R's that I have been trying to write. Previous dvd's from the same batch worked fine.
    Here is the message:

    Thanks
    Powerbook G4 aluminum;   Mac OS X (10.3.8)

    John,
    Agree it seems odd that you just started getting the errors with media that has previously worked. I'd try a different brand to isolate if it's a DVD media problem or something with your PB.
    FWIW, we only use TDK (have used -R and +R) and have not had media errors. Circuit City carries them at around $8 per pack of 25. If you search around the internet, you'll find discussion about various media sources (India, Taiwan, Japan) and quality within different manufacturers.

  • Migrating NULL values in tables from oracle to MS SQL

    Hi,
    I am migrating Oracle 11g database to MS SQL server 2014 using SSMA.
    Currently, when I migrate data, all (null) values in oracle tables are migrated as NULL to SQL.
    However, I want to migrate null values in oracle tables to blank space in SQL.
    Is it possible?
    Is there any setting in SSMA which supports this?
    Thanks.

    Hi ManiC24m,
    In SSMA, there is no setting we can modify to migrate null values in Oracle tables to blank space in SQL  Server. As Prashanth’s post, after the migration, you can replace the null values with blank space via the following Transact-SQL statements in
    SQL Server.
    USE <DatabaseName>
    Go
    UPDATE <TableName> SET <ColumnName>=''
    WHERE <ColumnName> IS NULL

  • NULL Value in Journal Entry and Wrong Tax Summary

    Hi people,
    I need your expert help for a big problem that appens to some customers.
    They run SAP BO 8.8 SP:00 PL:12
    This is the scenario:
    You insert a new documet,  A/R Invoice or A/P Invoice is the same, problem appear in all of them.
    After you insert the document, using SQL Server Management try this Select statment:
    Select * from JDT1 where JDT1.debit is null OR JDT1.credit is null
    A list of record where listed. And, this is the problem, NULL values are all in the VAT Lines in debit or credit colums.
    If you try to make a SUM(debit-credit) you discovery that, 1000,00-null=null
    Consequently, TAX Sumary report, that probably use arithmetic operation like me in SELECT statment,  count a wrong number when null values in DEBIT or CREDIT column in JDT1 for VAT declaration.
    How could I solve? And how i can make invoices store 0 rather than NULL in the VAT Line?
    Thanks in advance for your tips and solutions

    Thaks Neetu for your answer.
    I thinks there is a misurandertanding.
    My problem is not SQL.
    My problem is the SAP TAX Report.
    I used SQL only for check data and discover why SAP raise a wrong TAX Summary report.
    So, my question is: Why invoices write null values in journal entry, and how I can solve the problem that TAX summary report use null value in operations so the results are wrong.
    Thanks,
    Jonny Cortonicchi

  • Selection of Null Value in Transformation file

    Hi Guru's,
    I've been trying to select NULL values of a field in transformation file but unfortunately system always gets both null and filled values of the field ALTHOUGH i had maintained the Selection Option.
    Data management package is: Load Transaction Data from BW InfoProvider UI
    The technical name of field: 0FLAG
    I've tried each possibilities as in below
    SELECTION: 0FLAG, *STR()
    SELECTION: 0FLAG, *STR();
    SELECTION: 0FLAG, ""
    SELECTION: 0FLAG, " "
    SELECTION: 0FLAG, NULL
    SELECTION: 0FLAG, *STR(#)
    SELECTION: 0FLAG, #
    SELECTION: 0FLAG, "#"
    Doesn't work.
    thanks in adv. for your precious supports

    Hi Sadi,
    I understand your question that, you want to load tr. data from infocube and you have a trouble with one field which name is "0flag" in this cube, right? If your case is above, you need conversion file for flag, and convert like that # = "DUMMY" or sth.
    Or, you can solve in BW with transformation file routine.
    I hope, it will help you.
    Thanks.

  • Write Negative Value Byte to File

    In this example, I'm trying to write a value in between -128 to 127 to a text file. When I read it back (and check it using a binary viewer), the text file actually gets 63. The only workable range is 0 to 127. How can I get negatives?
              Byte b = (byte)-12;
              BufferedWriter writer = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter("C:\\Documents and Settings\\Joe\\Desktop\\test.txt"));
              writer.write(b);
              writer.close();
              DataInputStream is = new DataInputStream(new FileInputStream("C:\\Documents and Settings\\Joe\\Desktop\\test.txt"));
              System.out.println(is.read());
              is.close();

    The byte became unsigned when using the OutputStream. I tried to write -12, and I got 244. But now, I can write 0 through 255 (a bigger range)
    But I can just use arithmetic to make it work.
    Thanks!
              Byte b = (byte)-12;
              OutputStream out = new FileOutputStream("C:\\Documents and Settings\\joe\\Desktop\\test.txt");
              out.write(b);
                    out.close();
              DataInputStream is = new DataInputStream(new FileInputStream("C:\\Documents and Settings\\joe\\Desktop\\test.txt"));
              System.out.println(is.read());
              is.close();

  • Kff.where returns 'null'  and causes sql error - looking for a work around

    Hello,
    I am using BI 5.6.3 in EBS (11.5.10.2)
    I have created a kff.where as follows:
    <lexical
    type="oracle.apps.fnd.flex.kff.where"
    name="lp_location_where_clause"
    comment="Comment"
    application_short_name="OFA"
    id_flex_code="LOC#"
    id_flex_num=":lp_location_flex_structure"
    code_combination_table_alias="loc"
    segments="ALL"
    operator="BETWEEN"
    operand1=":p_location_low"
    operand2=":p_location_high"/>
    </lexicals>
    Everything works fine, as long as I have a values for the p_location_low and p_location_high. However, this is a parameter that comes in from a concurrent program and is optional. When the user doesn't pick a value, :p_location_low is the concatenated delimiters for the location '..'.
    When this runs, the kff.where is returning null which causes 'Invalid Relational Operation error' because 'AND null' is not valid.
    Warning in the log is :[091910_025232517][][STATEMENT] !!Warning: FlexAPI returns null for 'x_where_expression' lexical definition...
    Does anyone have a workaround for this since making the parameter required is not an option for my users?
    Thanks for reading.

    In your SQL*Plus session, make sure you
    SQL> set define offbefore trying to create the Java stored procedure. SQL*Plus assumes that any string that begins with an & is a substitution variable unless you tell it that you have no substitution variables (via set define off).

    I think you are need use TO_CHAR() function
      to_char(test_write_rec.EMPNO) ,
      to_char(test_write_rec.HIREDATE,'DD.MM.YYYY')
      to_char(test_write_rec.SAL)

    Feature: Management Tools-Basic
    Status: Failed
    Component Name: Sql Server Management Studio
    Component Error code: 1406
    Error Description: Could not write value to key \SOFTWARE. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
    The first time the installer worked installing perfectly, but I needed an named instance of "SQL2008", so I removed the instances. After this re-installing is not working.
    From past 3-4 days I went through most of the links which has provided solutions for error code 1406, and not having success for installing.
    I have tried these options,
    1) Ran the installer using "Run as Administrator"option. I am an Administrator user for the machine.
    2) In Registry Editor, right-click HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software, and then click Permissions. Click Add, type Everyone, and then click OK. Under Group or user names, click Everyone. Under Permissions, click to select Full Control in the Allow column, and then
    click OK.
    3) Uninstalled the Sql server product, and used Revo Uninstaller / CCleaner to clean the registry and the remaining files and folders.
    4) Multiple versions of SQL installers have been tried (SQL 2008/2012/2014)
    5) Logged in as local/Administrator for the machine, tried the similar steps.
    6) The same installers are still working in one of the virtual machines for multiple times of installation and uninstallation without having any problems.
    Please let me know, if needed further information. Please provide help for installing SQL server management studio.
    Regards,
    Ananth.

    I have the same problem.
    I can not install MSSQLManagementStudio. I suppose
    that is not the fault of permissions
    . I have tried to
    install as an administrator
    on the computer in the domain where the account has domain administrator permissions.The account is added to the local administrators.
    I also have tried to install as local administrator
    account after the removal of the domain.
    With the same result.
    Operating System Windows 8.1 Prof.
    I have tried  2012, 2012with SP1 , 2012x86 , 2014. All with same result:

    Other elements installs without any problem.

  • Oracle BI Write Back on NULL values  - Write Back Error

    Hi together,
    Write Back Error
    An error occurred while writing to the server. Please check to make sure you have entered appropriate values. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator
    I receive this message when I try to make a update of an null value in the database.
    update value on value or value to null works fine. So the XML Message is working on production.
    Is this a BUG?
    Regards,
    Stefan

    </WebMessageTables>

    Hi,
    http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/write_back -- recheck your configuration following this link step by step with screen shots.
    Note : The Problem Occurred two ways,
    1. Problem your XMl Script
    2. If null value not present in your columns in your table in the database.The problem is occured.
    please check below steps.
    1. Are you using OCI or ODBC in your connection pool? Try it with OCI Call Interface 11g.
    2.Remove the commit tag from the XML file.
    <postUpdate>COMMIT</postUpdate>
    =============================================================================================================
    This xml file working for me.
    Insert--
    A couple of small adjustments got your XML to work here:
    <?xml version="1.0"; encoding="utf-8"?>
    <WebMessageTables xmlns:sawm="com.siebel.analytics.web/message/v1";>
    <WebMessageTable lang="en-us" system="WriteBack" table="Messages">
    <WebMessage name="WriteBack">
    <XML>
    <writeBack connectionPool="Connection Pool">
    <insert> INSERT INTO FACT (PRICE,PRODUCT_KEY,REGION_KEY,SALE_UNIT,TIMEKEY,SALES_QUOTA)
    values (@{c7},@{c8},@{c9},@{c10},@{c11},@{c5} ) </insert>
    <update> </update>
    </writeBack>
    </XML>
    </WebMessage>
    </WebMessageTable>
    </WebMessageTables>
    The <writeBack> tag is written with a lower case "w".
    The "connetionPool" needs an upper case "P".
    Update--
    I think that you have to specify also an SQL statement for the update tag, for example:
    <?xml version="1.0"; encoding="utf-8"?>
    <WebMessageTables xmlns:sawm="com.siebel.analytics.web/message/v1";>
    <WebMessageTable lang="en-us" system="WriteBack" table="Messages">
    <WebMessage name="pmet_update">
    <XML>
    <writeBack connectionPool="PMTCOG">
    <insert> select null from dual</insert>
    <update> UPDATE XREF_PMET_URL SET URL= '@{c1}' WHERE API='@{c0}'</update>
    </writeBack>
    </XML>
    </WebMessage>
    </WebMessageTable>
    </WebMessageTables>
    The witeback wants for both the tags (<insert></insert> and <update></update>) an SQL Statement.
    Hope this help's
    Thanks

    I receive the follwing error message when trying to open my ipod touch/itunes "the itunes libary.itlfile is lockedon  a lockdisk or you do not have write permission on this file. How do I resolve this problem?

    Repair iTunes Security Permissions
    Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Securitytab and click Advanced. Use the Change Permissions... button grant to your account (or the Users group) and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to Replace permissions entries... which will repair permissions throughout the library. When complete switch to the General tab, click in the Read-only check box to clear it, then click Apply.
    If you don't have the option to change the permissions then use the Owner tab and Edit... button to take ownership from an account with administrator privileges. Tick the option to Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
    Repeat with the media folder if it isn't stored inside the main iTunes folder.
    If you've brought over the library from another computer you may also want to remove any "mystery" identities (S<string of dashes & digts>) that have come over from the old computer...
    The images above are from Windows 7. Hopefully the system isn't too different in Windows 8.
