SQLDev 4.0 EA1 error ORA-904 "SP"."CHILD_ADDRESS" invalid identifier.

Recieve error ORA-904 "SP"."CHILD_ADDRESS" invalid identifier when accessing the Explain Plan tab in Session Monitor. Client in Win 7 64 bit, DB is Oracle 10.1.
This behavior still exists with  4 EA3.

Copy the monitor sessions report down to a user defined report, check out the SQL being used in the Explain Plan tab, and try running that in your 10.1.0.5 database. We don't support that version of the database, but you can change up the sql in your user defined report to work for that instance if necessary.

    I'm a real novice with SQL and I am having a problem understanding why this doesn't work. Searching the web got me to this forum, but I haven't been able to find a solution. Obviuosly I don't really understand how to use the GROUP BY clause. The SQL works fine without that clause.
    As stated in the subject I am getting this error:

    Gary,
    Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. There are so many choices here I had a hard time deciding which to use. :)
    I tried your suggestion and still got an error. I had thought I didn't need to use aggregate functions on all of the fields. I guess that was wrong, so I changed it. Once I did that the SQL worked fine.

    how come there's this mismatch? The Unitest repository was created by the same sqldeveloper !
    regards,

    This seems to be coming from the repository being marked as Shared repository. Appearantly sqldeveloper is issueing a different query, referencing TEST_USER_NAME, in that case. After I did a DESELECT AS SHARED REPOSITORY and drop/recreate of the repository the error ORA-904 no longer occurs.

    I got the error ORA-01741 : illegal zero-length identifier for many target tables, after upgrading to 9.0.3. The running is successfull, but I get this error when I look at the target table audit.
    Any tips what could cause that ?
    Thank's

    Could it be that any of your object names or attributes names are empty? Could you take a look at a generated script that causes this problem (I would expect 2 double quotes with nothing in between)?
    Thanks,
    Mark.

  • Data blocks are corrupted : Error ORA-01578

    Hi All,
    We having a serious problem with the oracle running in our development server.
    Data blocks are corrupted with the error ORA-01578
    and we have identified the segment as an Table TBTCO.
    Hence can any body suggest us the way to resolve this.
    Currently we dont require any data from that table. In that
    case can we drop down the table and import it again with
    the same table downloaded from production server?
    As we dont have any oracle DBA's please suggest us the way to resolve this.
    Please advise.
    Thanks & Regards,
    DVRK

    Hey,
    if you are using RMAN backup you can restore and recover only the corrupted blocks.
    For more information take a look at that nice blog article from Lars:

    Your code work likes a charm. Check your privileges for creating sequences and triggers.

    END LOOP;
    PIPE ROW(out_rec1);
    CLOSE cur0;
    RETURN;
    END GET_SUPPLIERS;
    At the end what i want to do is to run the following query if possible:
    select item_code, item_name, GET_SUPPLIERS( item_code )
    from item_table
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi,
    Try this :
    While creating TYPE remove semi colon from end of the statement and also dont use extra / as / means execute last statement so you may encounter error..
    CREATE TYPE ind_tab_supplier1 IS VARRAY(6) OF VARCHAR2(30)

  • Error message for ORA-904 incomplete in german locale [1.1.0.22.71]

    Hello Forum,
    when I enter an SQL which generates an ORA-904, the error message looks somewhat weird with german locale:
    -- First with AMERICAN setting:
    alter session set nls_language='AMERICAN';
    select a from dual;
    alter session set succeeded.
    Error starting at line 2 in command:
    select a from dual
    Error at Command Line:2 Column:7
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-00904: "A": invalid identifier
    00904. 00000 - "%s: invalid identifier"
    *Cause:
    *Action:
    -- And now with GERMAN setting:
    alter session set nls_language='GERMAN';
    select a from dual;
    alter session set succeeded.
    Error starting at line 4 in command:
    select a from dual
    Error at Command Line:4 Column:7
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-00904: Ungültiger Spaltenname
    00904. 00000 - "%s: invalid identifier"
    *Cause:
    *Action:
    As you can see, the name of the invalid column is not displayed when nls_language="GERMAN".
    Maybe the second line '00904. 00000 - "%s: invalid identifier"' results from having a german Windows XP.
    I don't know how it looks on english Windows or how it should look like. :-)
    I run SQLDeveloper on XP Pro and Oracle 9.2 (on W2k).
    Regards,
    dhalek

    dhalek,
    If you take a closer look, the 00904. 00000 - "%s: invalid identifier" line is present in both languages - it's something that gets always appended.
    As for the German message SQL Error: ORA-00904: Ungültiger Spaltenname, you see it's lacking any reference to the column. The German translator apparently let that slip out. If the substitution parameter was there, but unsubstituted for some reason, it would look like SQL Error: ORA-00904: "": Ungültiger Spaltenname.
    You can contact Oracle through Metalink if you want this to get sorted out...
    K.
