Sqlldr - sequence gen?

Hi all,
I am using sqlldr to load data (file from db2) into oracle tables. So i have one csv file and loading it into 3 tables (for now), all the columns dont go in all tables.
Table 1 Cols ASID, SN, SD
Table 2 Cols AID, ASID, AA1, AA2
Table 3 Cols AID,BAN,RN,INN, BAT
AID and ASID are next numbers, I mean sequence generators
So my ctl file looks like this
OPTIONS (ROWS=1)
LOAD DATA
INFILE <filename>
APPEND
INTO TABLE Table1
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ","
OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
( ASID SEQUENCE(MAX,1),
SN FILLER,
SD FILLER)
INTO TABLE Table2
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ","
OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
( AID SEQUENCE(MAX,1),
ASID SEQUENCE(MAX,1),
AA1 FILLER,
AA2 FILLER)
INTO TABLE Table3
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ","
OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
( AID SEQUENCE(MAX,1),
BAN POSITION(33:49),
RN POSITION(23:31),
INN FILLER,
BAT POSITION(51:58)
Is this correct? Will it be like this?(as this is what I want)Thank you all in advance
Table1
ASID SN SD
1 val val
2 val val
Table2
AID, ASID, AA1, AA2
11 1 val val
12 2 val val
Table3
AID,BAN,RN,INN, BAT
11 val val val val
12 val val val val

When you ran this and tested it for yourself, you saw...?

    You sure can use sequence nextkey_seq.nextval in your control file (don't remember the exact syntax, but you can find it in Utilities manual for SQL*Loader

  • Apple TV Photo Sequence - (1st Gen)

    Help!
    I'm trying to put together a slide show with photos from different cameras, some with correct dates and some not. I organize the photos in the correct order in my Windows file (even renamed the photos to be in the correct alpha numeric sequence), but they show up a what appears to be a random order when sync'd to AppleTV (1st gen, with hard disc local storage)
    What can I do to get them in the correct viewing order? (about 3 hours until I need to present and I am panicking at the prospect of 150 random pictures)
    Thx

    I have no idea how to do this from my windows PC, is this an Itunes feature?
    no it's not an itunes feature.
    what program are you creating the slideshow in? and how are you making this slideshow available to appletv?
    i would assume that would have some sort of export feature.
    however, if you seriously have only 3 hours until you need to make this presentation, i would be looking at alternative methods in case this does not work out for you. your time would be best spent doing that rather than waiting on someone responding here.

    Hi Alexandre,
    It's not a problem.
    Sorry it's not LabVIEW, I had another look to see if there was a TestStand / LabVIEW version unfortunately there was not.
    Not really fimilar with DAIDEM but will try to help.
    Not sure what the Demo.vbs is, I downloaded the example and could not find that in the example code. Looking in the SequenceFile I have found the Demo.vbs in the setup of the "Run Script" step. Looking at the ExecuteScript.c I would have expected a piece of code that executes some function when the Sequence  runs and invoke the "Run Script" but this just appears to launch a CVI panel and expecting some user input.
    It looks like this steptype doesn't link directly with DIADEM but maybe indirectly via some Visual Basic code. If this is the case then it is not a very good example as it is incomplete. There is no mention of visual basic required in the readme file or the website link that I initially supplied.
    I'll try out the example later to day to try to understand it better.
    Regards
    Ray Farmer
    Have you tried running the example DIAdem Example.seq?

    Habe schon alles probiert, nichts hilft...

  • Sqlldr - 8i - SEQUENCE clause in column description

    I'm having trouble getting a handle on how SEQUENCE works in 8i when
    you're loading multiple tables from each logical record.
    The documention says a unique sequence number is generated for each
    logical record, but also describes the COUNT and MAX options as depending on
    TABLE values - num row in COUNT, max sequence for col in MAX.
    Here are 3 situations. I would appreciate any help. I do not have access to an
    ORACLE server, or I would simply have tried them myself!
    first: tab1 starts with 1 row, tab2 starts with 2 rows
    into table tab1
    (col1 sequence)
    into table tab2
    (col2 sequence)
    what are the first 2 values of col1 and col2?
    second - tab1 starts with 1 row, tab2 starts with 2 rows
    into table tab1
    (col1 sequence (COUNT,3)
    into table tab2
    (col2 sequence (COUNT,3)
    what are the first 2 values of col1 and col2?
    third - tab1 starts with 1 row, tab2 starts with 2 rows
    into table tab1
    (col1 sequence (MAX,3)
    into table tab2
    (col2 sequence (MAX,3)
    what are the first 2 values of col1 and col2?

    A sequence is an oracle object that will guarantee a unique number. While normally used to generate a unique key for a row, it has nothing to do with a table. For example, the following code will show how to use the same sequence in multiple tables.
    declare
    next_key number;
    begin
    select my_sequence.nextval
    into next_key
    from dual;
    insert into table1(col1,col2,col3) values(next_key,1,2);
    insert into table2(col1,col2,col3) values(next_key,3,4);
    insert into table3(col1,col2,col3) values(next_key,5,6);

  • Sql*loader and sequence() for primary keys

    I have a question regarding SQL*Loader with the sequence() function and using it for a primary key to load records in multiple tables from one input record. I am pulling data from a delimited file and populating several tables from each row. For the primary key, I am using the sequence function.
    For the first table (the parent), I use sequence(40000,1) for the key. Since the remaining inserts are based on the same logical record, I use sequence(40000,1) for those too (one record for each month). The problem comes in when a child record does not pass a WHEN clause (the amount is zero). Then it almost seems as if the parent record is not loaded and the child (or children) that does pass the WHEN clause are assigned to the next parent! Obviously, the sequence is getting out of sync between the children and the parent.
    I've looked in the documentation and tried several different ways to attack this problem. Is there a bug in SQLLDR (8.1.7) or is it just my coding.
    I will try to include the files below but they are very large.
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for the reply .. user do have their user credentials but only for the application ... but all users use a common loader and control file once they log into the application. So irrespective of which user is logged in he selects the same control file and loads to the same table mentioned in the control file .. i instead want user to be able to load to the table in control file but into his schema like username.tablename instead of just the tablename mentioned in .ctl file.

  • Getting ORA-22805 when trying to load XML file using SQLLDR

    I'm trying to learn the basics of XML since we'll be getting XML files in the near future. I'm using one of the sample schemas that comes with XMLSPY. I loaded this schema into an 11g Oracle DB using XMLSPY:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!-- edited with XML Spy v4.0 NT beta 1 build Jun 13 2001 (http://www.xmlspy.com) by Alexander Falk (Altova, Inc.) -->
    <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:ipo="http://www.altova.com/IPO" targetNamespace="http://www.altova.com/IPO" elementFormDefault="unqualified" attributeFormDefault="unqualified">
         <annotation>

         </annotation>
         <!-- include address constructs -->
         <include schemaLocation="address.xsd"/>
         <element name="purchaseOrder" type="ipo:PurchaseOrderType"/>
         <element name="comment" type="string"/>
         <complexType name="PurchaseOrderType">
              <sequence>
                   <element name="shipTo" type="ipo:Address"/>
                   <element name="billTo" type="ipo:Address"/>

         <complexType name="Items">

    Then I created an XMLType table:

    I'm trying to load the sample XML file ipo.xml into purchaseOrder using SQLLDR. This is ipo.xml:

    The load fails with:
    Record 1: Rejected - Error on table PURCHASEORDER.
    ORA-22805: cannot insert NULL object into object tables or nested tables
    Another question I have is, how do we know how many records (0's) to specify in the control file? In this case there's only one but when real files are used we won't know how many are in the file.
    Thanks for your help!

    The concept was "Don't use SQL*Loader to parse XML".
    You can use SQL*Loader to load an entire XML document into the DB. That is fine. You can do the same via BFILENAME to read in files from disk as well.
    If you want to parse XML, do that from within Oracle via PL/SQL and/or SQL. The solution depends upon your version of Oracle and what is good enough for you in terms of performance.
    So the basics are
    a) How am I getting the information?
    b) How am I getting in into Oracle?
    c) How do I want to parse it?
    As I see the schema, it only allows for one ipo:purchaseOrder node in the document, since that is the root node. If you have multiple in the incoming file, you no longer have valid XML, both per the schema and because you have no single root node. You have an XML fragment, which must be treated different.
    Just trying to understand the question since I now realize it does not agree with what the schema in your initial example shows.

  • 2nd gen shuffle disk format FAT32 on a mac?

    Guys,
    my incredibly stable quad g5 has gone "nuts" since I've had my 2nd gen shuffle. It hangs, won't mount external USB drives if the 2nd gen shuffle is docked during startup, lots of other really weird things.
    The shuffle was delivered to my work, so the shuttle was 1st connected to a Windows box, but just to charge it fully.
    when the shuffle is connected to the quad, it only actually shows in iTunes about 25% of the time... whether or not it shows up in iTunes, I can see an "iPod" on the USB bus. I've got lots of USB 2.0 powered ports... changing ports doesn't make a difference at all.
    according to iTunes, the software version is 1.01, which was updated from the shipping 1.00 while connected to the Windows machine. (this might have been a bad thing to do)
    when the shuffle is connected to iTunes, despite the fact that the checkbox allow disk access, most of the time I still see the shuttle mounted as a drive volume. When it doesn't show up, I can still see the drive briefly mount and unmount if I toggle settings or do anything with the shuttle.
    obviously, I've tried restore(s) from the quad, which resets the contents of the shuttle but doesn't change the disk format.
    the shuttle itself operates as expected, it's only while it's docked to the quad that all heck breaks loose...
    Any ideas???
    Thanks

    ah... well, I've already restored one of the times that it was connected to a proper 2.0 powered USB port.
    the first time, it wouldn't come back from the reflashed state, ie it didn't reconnect to iTunes...
    I disconnected, it had no songs on it, but it seemed to work... after a number of attempts to dock, it finally did, and I pumped a bunch of song over to it and it worked...
    I then retried that sequence and the update worked fine.
    it's still a strange beast. for example... although no disk access is allowed, it still mounts a shuffle icon onto the desktop, just no folders are visible... strange...
    I've chosen to downsample to 128kbit AAC, and I'm not having iTunes autofill the shuffle. I unselected the downsample option and clicked apply. one would think that the data on the shuffle would stay as is. Nope, it wiped the shuffle and tried to put the songs that were there back on the shuffle at the original bitrates, which of course don't fit. Reselect the downsample option, click apply, and it repeats the wipe of the shuffle, and is now (again) downsampling and sending to the shuffle. Since it's on the keyboard USB port right now, this is taking quite a while.
    I'll def try on other machines, and indeed without the USB drives mounted, ah, sorry, can't really do that on the quad... the iTunes library is on one of the external USB drives...
    anyway, I get what you want me to try... it might be tomorrow before I can repeat the sequence enough times to say something conclusive. This has been going on for a few days already... I've restarted the quad more times since Thursday than I have in the last year!
    I'm not panicking yet, but am extremely curious what is causing this problem.
    Once again, thanks... I try some more tests and post back
    Michael

  • Using sqlldr to load XML files and the file name ?  or access the file name

    I can use sqlldr to load the XML files when I declare the target table of XMLTYPE, but I need to load the filename and a sequence also with the XML in a table so we can mark wether the file passed validation or not.
    something like ....
    Create table test1
    lobfn varchar(200),
    load_number number,
    XML_COL XMLTYPE
    --------------- here is my sqlldr command
    sqlldr xml_user/xml_user load_test1.ctl
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE test1
    append
    xmltype(XML_COL)
    lobfn FILLER char TERMINATED by ',',
    XML_COL LOBFILE(lobfn) TERMINATED BY EOF
    BEGINDATA
    filename1.xml
    filename2.xml
    filename64.xml
    sqlldr comes back and says "commit point reached - logical record count 64
    but when I select count(*) from test1; it returns 0 rows.
    and when I
    SELECT X.* FROM tst1 P2,
    XMLTable ( '//XMLRoot//APPLICATION'
    PASSING P2.XML_COL
    COLUMNS
    "LASTNAME" CHAR(31) PATH 'LASTNAME',
    "FIRSTNAME" CHAR(31) PATH 'FIRSTNAME'
    ) AS X;
    It tells me invalid identifier ,
    Do I need to use a function to get the XML_COL as a object_value ???
    But when I create the table like
    create table test1 of XMLTYPE;
    and use sqlldr it works, but I dont have the file name, or dont know how to access it ??
    and I can use
    SELECT X.* FROM tst1 P2,
    XMLTable ( '//XMLRoot//APPLICATION'
    PASSING P2.object_value
    COLUMNS
    "LASTNAME" CHAR(31) PATH 'LASTNAME',
    "FIRSTNAME" CHAR(31) PATH 'FIRSTNAME'
    ) AS X;

    BTW

  • Ipod Classic 6th Gen 160 GB wont Restore (Error 1439)

    So I just purchased an iPod today knowing it was having problems. I had looked online before hand to find fixes, and thought it would be easy enough to fix. But I guess not. I called support, bad idea. They were absolutely useless (they couldn't help me without having to pay to be helped). But My initial problem was the harddrive wasn't spinning up, and I'd get the red X thing. So I had tried several methods without opening the case, and what seemed to work was tapping the top right of my iPod onto something sturdy enough to get the HD spinning. It worked like a charm, but I guess I celebrated too early. Now when I try to restore the iPod (has to be restored), I have tried it the regular way, then in Disk mode, but both options return an error 1439 the second iTunes is done extracting the software. I went into diagnostics mode, and neither option for the HD result in anything. It just continues to say [Open Device..]. I have also tried to format the HD in windows, but the default windows formatter quits the second it starts, and I tried using EaseUS partition master, and only shows 3 physical sectors, MBR Signature is FFFFFFFF, Total size is 0 GB, Sector per track is 1, Cylinder is 3, Head is 1. Is the HD shot?

    If a sad iPod icon or an exclamation point and folder icon appears on your iPod’s screen, or with sounds of clicking or HD whirring, it is usually the sign of a hard drive problem and you have the power to do something about it now. Your silver bullet of resolving your iPod issue – is to restore your iPod to factory settings.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
    If you're having trouble, try these steps at different levels one at a time until the issue is resolved. These steps will often whip your iPod back into shape.
    Make sure you do all the following “TRYs”
    A. Try to wait 30 minutes while iPod is charging.
    B. Try another FireWire or USB through Dock Connector cable.
    C. Try another FireWire or USB port on your computer .
    D. Try to disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire and USB ports.
    E. Try to download and install the latest version of iPod software and iTunes
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    For old and other versions of iPod updater for window you can get here
    http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=7369
    F. Try these five steps (known as the five Rs) and it would conquer most iPod issues.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
    G. Try to put the iPod into Disk Mode if it fails to appear on the desktop
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
    If none of these steps address the issue, you may need to go to Intermediate level listed below in logical order. Check from the top of the lists to see if that is what keeping iPod from appearing on your computer in order for doing the Restore.
    Intermediate Level
    A. Try to connect your iPod with another computer with the iPod updater pre-installed.
    B. Still can’t see your iPod, put it in Disk Mode and connect with a computer, instead of doing a Restore on iPod Updater. Go and format the iPod instead.
    For Mac computer
    1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
    2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
    3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
    4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
    5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
    6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
    For Window computer
    Go to folder “My Computer”
    Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
    Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
    Now select “Format”
    Eject your iPod and do a Reset
    Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
    In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool”.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=501330&tstart=0
    C. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
    Tips
    a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iTunes 7.
    b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
    c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2364921&#2364921
    Advance Level
    A. Diagnostic mode solution
    If you have tried trouble shooting your iPod to no avail after all the steps above, chances are your iPod has a hardware problem. The iPod's built-in Diagnostic Mode is a quick and easy way to determine if you have a "bad" iPod.
    You need to restart your iPod before putting it into Diagnostic Mode. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack. Toggle it on and off to be safe.
    Press and hold the following combination of buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.
    iPod 1G to 3G: "Menu" and "Play/Pause"
    iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select"
    The Apple logo will appear and you should feel the hard drive spinning up. Press and hold the following sequence of buttons:
    iPod 1G to 3G: "REW", "FFW" and "Select"
    iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Back" and "Select"
    You will hear an audible chirp sound (3G models and higher) and the Apple logo should appear backwards. You are now in Diagnostic Mode. Navigate the list of tests using "REW" and "FFW". The scroll wheel will not function while in diagnostic mode. For further details on Diagnostic mode can be found at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/
    Try to do the 5in1, HDD R/W and HDD scan tests. Some successful cases have been reported after the running the few tests under the Diagnostic mode. In case it does not work in your case, and the scan tests reports show some errors then it proves your iPod has a hardware problem and it needs a repairing service.
    B. Format your iPod with a start disk
    I have not tried this solution myself, I heard that there were few successful cases that the users managed to get their iPod (you must put your iPod in disk mode before connecting with a computer) mounted by the computer, which was booted by a system startup disk. For Mac, you can use the Disk Utility (on the Tiger OS system disk), for PC user, you can use the window OS system disk. Try to find a way to reformat your iPod, again it does not matter which format (FAT32, NTFS or HFS+) you choose, the key is to erase the corrupted system files on the iPod. Then eject your iPod and do a Reset to switch out from Disk Mode. Reboot your computer at the normal way, connect your iPod back with it, open the iPod updater, and hopefully your iPod will appear there for the Restore.
    If none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired.
    Consider setting up a mail-in repair for your iPod http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
    Or visit your local Apple Retail Store http://www.apple.com/retail/
    In case your iPod is no longer covered by the warranty and you want to find a second repairing company, you can try iPodResQ or ifixit at your own risk
    http://www.ipodresq.com/index.php
    http://www.ifixit.com/
    Just in case that you are at the following situation
    Your iPod warranty is expired
    You don’t want to pay any service charges
    You are prepared to buy a new one
    You can’t accept the re-sell value of your broken iPod
    Rather than leave your iPod as paper-weight or throw it away.
    You can try the following, but again, only do it as your last resort and at your own risk.
    Warning !!!! – It may or may not manage to solve your problem, and with a risk that you may further damage your iPod, which end up as an expensive paper weight or you need to pay more higher repairing cost. Therefore, please re-consider again whether you want to try the next level
    Last Resort Level
    1. . Disconnecting the Hard Drive and battery inside the iPod – Warning !! Your iPod warranty will be waived once you open the iPod.
    In Hong Kong there are some electronic shops offering an iPod service for Sad iPod, the first thing they do is to open up the iPod’s case and disconnecting the battery and the Hard Drive from the main board of the iPod. Wait for 5-10 minutes and reconnecting them back. The reason behind which I can think of is to do a fully reset of a processor of the iPod. In case you want do it itself and you believe that you are good on fixing the electronics devices and have experience to deal with small bits of electronic parts, then you can read the following of how to open the iPod case for battery and HDD replacement (with Quicktimes)
    http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/index.cfm?page=Video/directory.html
    2.Press the reset button on the Hard Drive inside the iPod – Suggestion from Kill8joy
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2438774#2438774
    Have I tried these myself? No, I am afraid to do it myself as I am squeamish about tinkering inside electronic devices, I have few experiences that either I broke the parts (which are normally tiny or fragile) or failed to put the parts back to the main case. Therefore, I agree with suggestion to have it fixed by a Pro.

    I am not suggesting that you should follow as well, but just read them as your reference. You are the person to make the call.
    Finally, I read a fair comments from dwb, regarding of slapping the back of the iPod multiple times
    Quote “This has been discussed numerous times as a 'fix'. It does work, at least for a while. In fact I remember using the same basic trick to revive Seagate and Quantam drives back in the mid to late 1980's. Why these tiny hard drives go bad I don't know - could be the actuator gets stuck in place or misaligned. Could be the platter gets stuck or the motor gets stuck. 'Stiction' was a problem for drives back in the 80's. Unfortunately the fix can cause damage to the platter so we temporarily fix one problem by creating another. But I know of two instances where a little slap onto the table revived the iPods and they are still worked a year or more later.”UnQuote

  • IPod Nano 6th Gen needs a restore every day...?

    My iPod Nano 6th Gen works well for arond 24 hours but every morning when i wake up it says it needs to be restored using iTuunes.
    When I restore it, it works perfectly. No problems at all. I can fill it to capacity with music and it works all day. The next morning, the battery is still really close to fully charged, but the iPod is in recovery mode. I've scoured the internet but haven't found anyone with a similar problem.
    Generally, I've read about iPods that will not restore, or that, even after a restore, will remain in recovery mode, which is indicative of moisture or some other malady.
    This Nano has been well cared for and is in flawless condition in every way aside from the condition mentioned. Not even a scratch or smudge. I'm baffled.
    Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I love to use the smaller ipod when running or bike riding, but am stuck restoring it each day I choose to use it over my Classic 160's.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Ok, here is a bit of an update on the issue.
    For the last two mornings, when the Nano says it needs a restore, I've hard reset it (holding down both the select/menu and volume down button simultaneously), then, when the apple logo shows, I held down the menu and the volume up button simultaneously, which then restores the ipod back to functioning properly (I think I read that this is supposed to put the ipod into disk mode, which it doesn't do on this Nano, obviously).
    Aside from being annoying as all get up, I suppose the ipod is working, so it's a minor victory.
    Still, does anyone know why this might be happening every single night? The battery is still completely charged and once I do the aforementioned sequence, the ipod works perfectly until the next day.

  • How to use RECNUM special field in a file bulk load interface (sqlldr)

    Hi,
    I'm trying to load an ordered set of full text lines from a flat file using Sql Loader 11.2 with ODI 11.1.1 bulk LKM (LKM File to Oracle - SQLLDR).
    I have to keep track of each line number in a separate target table column NUM_SEQ and feed it with sqlldr RECNUM special field.
    I haven't found any other way to do that but to tweak manually the generated sqlldr .ctl control file (bad but it works) :
    NUM_SEQ RECNUM,
    FULL_LINE CHAR(4000)
    I've tried to map "RECNUM" as an expression in the map tab of the loading interface but the column itself gets discarded at .ctl generation.
    I haven't found any mention of RECNUM in the whole ODI documentation, neither on this forum nor the Web.
    Using an internal Oracle sequence in the subsequent steps of the ETL breaks the garantee of ordered lines.
    Any hint ?

    You will have to enhance the KM so that this clause gets added to the CTL file each time.
    Add an Option to the KM in which you can specify name of the column that you want to act as line_number.
    And then in the KM, change the "Generate CTL File" step and add
    *<%=odiRef.getOption("RECNUM") %> RECNUM*
    after the call to the <%=odiRef.getColList(" ") %> API
    So, this will add the RECNUM column to the list of the columns generated.

  • How to generate sequence of pulse trains with DAQmx?

    I need to generate a sequence of pulse trains with DAQmx (the card I have is a PXI-6229 card). As an example:
    - 10'000 pulses at 20kHz every 5 seconds with an initial offset of 2 seconds (let's say 10 pulse trains in total).
    If I use the CreateVirtualChannel.vi in "CO pulse ticks" mode, I can only specificy offset, high ticks and low ticks, but not that the sequence of pulses should be repeated after some time.
    Now I thought that I could solve this problem if it were possible to multiply two counter outputs: the first counter would generate the pulses (continuously) whereas the second one would switch between low and high on a slower timescale in order to gate the first counter, thereby providing an initial offset and the "off" phases between the pulse trains.
    Is it somehow possible to multiply two outputs with DAQmx and the card I have? Or is there another solution to the problem?
    Thanks a lot in advance for any hints!

    Hi dlanger,
    what you want to do requires a little bit more work.
    First look at the example "Gen Dig Pulse Train-Continuous.vi" from the LV example finder.
    This example generates a continuous* pulse train. As you see, you need a sample clock VI for setting the sample mode.
    * NOTE: Generating a finite pulse train with a M-series card requires 2 counter.
    With a pause trigger (DAQmx trigger property node) you can gate the output of that counter.
    Now you have to generate a gate-signal with the the 2nd counter. That means, only if  Ctr1-out is high Ctr0-out outputs the 20 kHz-signal.
    Maybe you have to adjust the times in my example a bit.
    Unfortunately there is just one "small" problem: "let's say 10 pulse trains in total"
    This is not possible, because a 3rd counter would be necessary (*).
    As a workaround you can modify the while-loop that both tasks are cleared after 50s. This is not brilliant, but should work fine for you.
    A more sophisticated way is to perform a correlated DIO. So you can generate custom pattern for multiple outputs.
    A good example can you find here:
    Retrigger and Repeat Finite Digital Pulse Train in LabVIEW
    http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-8473
    or here:
    Generating More Than 2 Pulse Trains Using CompactDAQ
    http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-2167
    Hope this helps.
    With best wishes,
    Ralf N.
