SRM - Contract management - product category - SRM 5.0

Hello,
The product category was set as mandatory field in the contract management.
By creating a contract or modifying an existing one, a product category must be selected.
When I'm connected in English, i can use product category search function, and all the product category are populated.
I'm so able to select a product category in the contract
But when I'm connected in French, it is impossible to use the search function because no values are populated.
I already check the transaction COMM_HIERARCHY, but English and French are already set.

1. GOA+LOcal contract = Central contratct.pls coreect me
:- Basically Central Contracts are created in SRM and copied to ECC. Then after you can refer that contract as GOA.
2. When the central contract is created in SRM is it dcistributed as Contract or Scheduling agreeemtn in ECC.
:- It's distributed as Contract.
3. Also, in SRM 7.0 is it possible to create contract directly in ecc from the sourcing cockpit.
:- No; it's not possible. You have to create contract in SRM first then you can distribute it to ECC.

    2. In which system( EBP or non-sap backend), we need to define product or product category? and how to create it?

    When you replicate product categories from any backend system, they get created in SRM and update the value of logical system with the backend from which it replicated.
    You can only create Product category in standalone. You can try to create the same for classic but maintain log syst value with the correct backend. This is not advisable.

  • SRM product category contract using MDM retrurns contract with item 0

    We are using SRM 5 with MDM catalog 7.1 using Ext classic scenario.
    We've created more than 1 SRM contract for the same product category in SRM, eg. 2 contracts both for prod category STATIONERY with 2 different vendors (eg. vendor 1213, contract 44000330 item 1 and vendor 2456 contract 44000999 item 1). In the MDM catalog we reference 1 of these contracts/items, eg vendor 1213, contract 44000330 item 1.
    When we select this item from MDM catalog it pulls in the vendor and the contract number,  eg vendor 1213, contract 44000330, but the contract item is shown as item 0 (contract 44000330 / 0).
    If however, we have only one contract for a product category, eg. TRAINING and we enter this contract/item in MDM, when we select that item from the catalog it copies the vendor and the contract along with the correct contract item number, eg. contract 44000661 / 1.
    Any ideas why it is doing this? Cannot find any SAP notes or other postings on SDN with this problem.

    The issue is when we have more than one contract for the same product category. Both or only one of those contracts might be assigned to items in the MDM catalog. The catalog has the correct contract, AND the correct item number against the catalog item.eg. contract 123456 / item 1
    If there is only one contract then there is no problem and the correct contract AND item number is copied back into the shopping cart, eg. 123456 / 1. Only when there is more than one contract for the product category does MDM pass back contract item 0  eg. 123456 / 0
    We're not loading via XI. We're loading from a spreadsheet.
    Any more ideas?

         I made the setting  in ECC to permit 'Combination item category W /account assignment category U',  and the contract can reach the ECC.    in ECC, the contract item category is 'W'  (material group).      actually,  in ECC ,material group contract  can be created wihtout 'W'.    the MM consultant also don't  except  'W' as item category, should as empty.   Will I do some change in SRM .  how to do ?

         By testing, I found the situation:
        when creating contract,  in item,  if  I select  Item Category  as 'Product Category' , then I can't input  'Product ID' ,'Unit',  'Price', etc.   I can only input main info  such as 'Target Quantity'  'Target Value'  etc.
         when the contract is generated in ECC.     the item category is 'W'  , Target Quantity is empty, Price is empty,  the Target value that is input in SRM    is disapeared,   in other words, this kind of contract don't have price (value) .
          is it normal?
          my business expect  it is like with product ID.  can this be realized?

  • Product category in srm should over write the punch-out catalog category

    Hello Gurus,
    I have a requirement to overwrite the product category which is coming from the punch-out catalog with the SRM product category.
    Exactly saying i am looking for a mapping program.
    Because the product category schema in Punch-out Catalog is different from the product category schema in SRM.
    Is there any BADI that is available to help and Can anybody has the experience in doing so....??

    Actucally i am using NIGP as the Schema, Can you explain me how we can do with more details how to configure the settings to map the exteranal product category with the internal product category and with out going to BADI.
    IMG> SRM> SRM Server --> Master Data --> Content management --> Mapping for schema.
    You set your schema for product category (UNSPSC, ..) and then define the mapping for a schema .

  • SRM Contract management personalization

    Dear SRM Gurus,
    We are currently implementing the CM for SRM 7.0 in standalone scenario.
    Here I got two questions about the personalization:
    1. How is it possible to remove the catalog links in the "add item" button dropdown menu? In the Dynpro for this button there are no catalog mentioned, just the Product category and Normal Item type. So I guess the catalog menu is added somewhere else.
    2. Is it possible to customize the content of the "send email" possibility when viewing an submited contract?

    1. As for the "add item" button we need to remove the catalog links, not the Product category item type and for contract, not the SC.

  • Issue in  product category replication from R/3 to SRM

    Mehul G Shah: BACKGROUND:
    We are in the process of replicating Material Group from R/3 to SRM
    using transaction R3AR2 & R3AR4. Our Pre-Production server got
    refreshed recently & this has caused all EBM data inclucing Logical
    System & Destination being overwritten with EBP data.
    We have maintained middleware paramaters, viz., CRMCONSUM, CRMRFCPAR,
    CRMPAROLTP & also TBE11.
    We have also maintained sites in CRM Middleware Monitoring Cockpit
    using SMWP.
    We have also tried after deleting entries in tables CRMPRLS (R/3) &
    CRMMLSGUID (EBM) as suggested by SAP note 765018
    We have followed steps mentioned in link /people/marcin.gajewski/blog/2007/02/05/how-to-replicate-material-master-from-r3-to-srm
    (But we are not clear about site attributes which needs to maintain as per the CRM Middleware Monitoring Cockpit.)
    ISSUE:
    Material Group gets replicated to Product Category in SRM. However, the
    Product Category gets replicated with Logical System which is not
    maintained in EBM

  • Product Category Description 2 in SRM missing

    Hello,
    we have the issue, that the Product Category Description 2 is needed in the SRM System. The replication from ERP just giving  Product Category Description 1. We are running SRM 7.0 and habe ECC 6.0 (EHP4) as Backend.
    What would be the best way to solve this?
    1. Enhance the master data replication and
    2. Enhance the dataobject Product Category in SRM with the field wgbez60 to store the data
    How can an enhancement to the replication be done? Is there a BADI as for vendors available?
    How the middleware program need to be changed?

    Hi. In that case....
    Go to BBPSC01 in the GUI, get the search help name from the category field.
    Go to SE11 and change the search help to add a new field and put in a search help exit just like any other search help.
    This way you can use the search help exit to read both descriptions from the backend and populate the search results.
    This will allow users to see both descriptions when searching.
    After they choose a category they will only see 1 description in the cart though.
    You could implement a custom field and use BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI to populate the second description. It will be shown in a different section on the cart though.
    Alternatively you could look at changing the templates, that would be quite tricky for something this complex though.

    We are on SRM 7.0.
    We have replicated material groups from ECC as product categories in SRM and vendor master also into SRM. Now I log into SRM portal as strategic purchaser and go to the following tab.
    Strategic Purchasing->Business Partner-> Here I choose an existing supplier, open it up ...go to the Bidder data tab->Categories. Under categories I do an F4 help and choose one of the available product categories and save the entry.
    Where is this information about supplier and product category combination stored in SRM. Which tables?
    Request you to shed some light on this.

  • Using SRM for very large contracts and contract management

    We are doing an SRM 7.01 implementation project. SRM will be used primarily for outsourced contract management. The contracts are all services associated with facilitites (plant) maintenance and also support services like cleaning or catering.
    They have very large numbers of items priced individually (e.g. 10,000) per contract. The items price depends on the location the work is expected to be performed. The location is represented in SAP RE-FX architectual object. The price can be priced at any level of the hierarchy e.g. service A is priced the same across the whole state but service B is priced per campus.
    q1. SAP advises that there are performance limitations on SRM contracts >2000 lines. Has anyone experience in a solution to provide very large contracts in SRM? How did you do it please?
    q2. SAP advises to use the plant to represent the location for pricing purposes, but this would result in a very large number of plants. Has any one experience in alternative solutions to for variable location pricing in SRM contracts please? I.e. like integrating the RE-FX architectural object or similar into contract and PO line items.

    Hi Prakash,
    SRM does provide the facility of contract management with the help of Purchase Contracts and Global Outline Agreements but it is used as part of the sourcing for materials and services. The materials or services have contracts against some given target value against which PO is released. The contract is based on a material number ( eithe material or a service) which will be used as a source of supply during the creation of the Shopping Cart. It might not really fit in the scenario of carrier and freight forwarders but still can be customized for this kind of use.
    The contract management functionalities in the R/3 space can also be looked on for this purpose.

  • Query Regarding Default Product category set up in SRM server

    HI SAp Gurus,
    Plesae note that I have created one dummy product category - Test under R3MATCLASS using TC - COMM_HIERARCHY and set in the extended attribute of the root organization level.
    Also done the validation in BBP_DOC_CHECK _BADI.
    In SRM portal it is reflecting the text as *Please select a product category from list* in Category field as I set in SRM server.
    But when I try to select "Add To Shopping Cart" Button it displays the following error messages that -
    1) Enter A comapny Code
    2) Enter a unit of measure
    3) Plant for follow-on document missing
    4) System FCSCLNT110 of purch. organization M&S Purchasing Organisation differs from doc. reference FSSCLNT480
    5) Error in account assignment for item 1
    6) Error calling META BAPI META_CALCULATE_TAX
    7) Not possible to calculate tax
    8) Error occurred calling META_BAPI_DISPATCH
    9) The cost center has not been assigned in the account assignment
    When I select the valid product category which is replicated to SRM from ECC , it does not display any error message.
    I think the dummy product category - Test which I have created directly in SRM is creating the problem . and displays an error message-
    System FCSCLNT110 of purch. organization M&S Purchasing Organisation differs from doc. reference FSSCLNT480
    I have also check that when i click Add to Shopping Cart Button - The item_check Badi is also triggered . When I set up the break point there for debugging purpose its not triggeing and coming up with the above error messages.
    Kindly advice and do the needful.

    I confirm that have successfully created the dummy product Category at SRM server and maintained in the extended attribute tab at the root organization level.
    Bu the new problem raised - a warning message -  No authorization to purchase from product category - Test
    For that in PFCG TC we are setting up the autorization level as Low for Startegic Purchasing Role.
    But even then the great problem is - when i click add to shopping cart button the line item is not created in step 2, since I have selected the dummy product category not the one which is replicated from backend. Otherwise if i select the one which is replicated from ECC its showing me the one line item in the next screen.
    Can any one please advice.

  • Product Category Hierarchy - SRM

    I have doubts on Product Category hierarchy....
    1) As far as i understand whenever we replicate the material from Backend R/3 there is a product hiearachy created and assigned automatically. However, we also have the option of creating local hiearachies.
    So, what i did was for the same product category i assigned two hierarchies. One the standard R3MATCLASS and other which i created manually in SRM. Then i assigned the two hierarchies while creating the material manually in SRM. However, i am not able to get the significance of this? Why has SAP provided this provision of having multiple hieararchies?
    2) I read from the help portal in SAP that Product Hierarchy helps in determining the source of supply. I am not able to understand how that is possible. I have searched for documentation all around but could not find any?
    3) In one of the forums i saw that one consultant activated the product hiearachy, then to his surprise the automatic sourcing configuration which he had done has not worked due to activation of hierarchies
    Has anyone worked indepth in this field. Any inputs is greatly welcome as i am doing some indepth work on this

  • Show Material Group Long Description in SRM Product Category ?

    We have entered Short and Long Decriptions for Material Groups in R/3 and we have run the replication too. We want to show the Long Description of the Product Category to the users on the web screens.
    We know there is a setting in SRM to do this but we don't know what it is.
    Please let me know if any one has idea.

    SM30
    COMC_HIERARCHY
    NEW ENTRIES
    SELECT TRANSFER 60 CHAR DESC.

  • SRM Product Category replication

    Hi,
    I have a problem while replicating the product category from SRM 5.0 to R/4 4.7 system. When I run the load the entry is stuck in the queue and the error message says:
    The current application triggered a termination with a short dump.
    I have reset the status of the queue and tried to execute it again and it gives me the error as "Function module does not exist or Exception raised".
    I have checked St22 and SM21 for any system logs, but could not find any.
    Can any one please let me know what could be the possible problem.

       - Please delete erroneous ERP: SMQ1 queue R3A* entries and in                
         SRM: SMQ2 queue R3A* entries, otherwise follow-on loads would fail         
         (note 872533 top 1).                                                       
       - Using ta COMM_HIERARCHY, R3PRODSTYP, MAT_ check if                         
         SetType COMM_PR_PUR_1 exists. If not, create it manually                   
         (confirm raising pop-up).                                                  
       - Apply note 1049693 and run attached job of the note.

    Hi,
    I am trying to replicate the product category from ECC to SRM
    I have run the R3AS, but no success,
    In SRM SMQ2 no entry created
    In ECC SMQ1 no entry created
    In R3AM1 "DNL_CUST_PROD1" is running status, not changing to green
    I also found that
    In R3AM1 DNL_CUST_BASIS3 also running and both the status is block
    Please help to resolve status.

    Hello Roy,
    Kindly follow the below steps to resolve the issue here.
    1) Maintain the table TBLSYSDEST in both SRM and ERP system with regards to the logical system and Technical and Dialog rfc's.
    Also assign the MW_admin in the rfc user.Register the queues with * smqr.
    2) Follow the sap note 720819 and maintain all the 5 tables correctly.
    3) Before you start the download, you must use transaction SE38 to execute the report BBP_PRODUCT_SETTINGS_MW in the EBP system. In the 'User' field, enter the consumer name that you selected (for example, "SRM").
    Select the radio button depending on whether service products should be active or not. The report starts with the default settings in test mode.
    4) Ensure that the table CRMATAB in ERP system holds the entries after the step 1. IF it is blank then follow the sap note 1498111 and run the report SMOF_FILL_CRMATAB in SRM.
    5) Also check for the R3-Guid in the tables CRMMLSGUID (SRM system) and CRMPRLS (ERP system ). Both should be identical with the logical system.
    Kindly abort and load the object again, it should work fine.
    Also to replicate the new material groups, you need to trigger the delta load.
