SRM-R/3 Service Packages

Hi Gurus,
We are busy with an SRM 4.0 implementation integrating it with R/3 4.6c. The problem here is that the client has not upgraded their backend (R/3 4.6c) since 2001. The client also doesnot want to do an upgrade right now since they are in production with the R/3.
My question is what impacts will we have by implementing SRM 4.0 with a R/3 - 4.6c (no support pack installed since 2001). Will this really effect the SRM 4.0 system. Also from a technical perspective, can you give me some inputs on the impacts that we would be facing?

We are implementing SRM 4.0 (classic scenario).(CCM 2.0, LAC 2.0, EBP 5.0). Most of it is a standard functionality.

  • Can I have a blackberry and not pay for the internet service package?

    Hi I am new to this and my t-mobile phone that I have broke and I am looking to upgrade to something that will help me stay a little more organized but do not want to pay for the service package that comes along with buying a blackberry from t-mobile. I know that I could get one from craigslist or ebay or something and was wondering if I could just put in my Sim card and it would have all the basic functions without the internet and emails.     Sorry, no. Without the BlackBerry Data Plan, you will get very few of the data functions of the device... voice and SMS, yes. Calendar, contacts, etc., yes. No RIM push email.
    You can use the Opera Mini browser for the internet with the TCP setttings enabled, for a browser for free... just watch your billing and make certain you are not charged.

  • How to assign the default service package to the user in the command line ?

    when i create use use the following command ,which service package is assigned to the user ,or in where can i set the default service package ,thanks for you!

    When I create a user via command-line, I get no service package. I don't see any way to assign such on creation via command-line.
    Some of what might be in a service package can be set as default falues, through configutil.
    quota is this kind of thing.

    Please let me know if I have misunderstood anything.
    Based on my research, I'm sorry that it appears that there is not a corresponding official document which can meet your requirement. However, according to my knowledge, 99% of the time the value will be 00000070 for CurrentState.
    Currently, I'd like to confirm that if there is any real problem occurs due to the registry value? If so, then we may find another way to help with you.

    The Error Message Is Generated :Purchase requisition for service activity / element cannot be generated

    After Entering the Same It is asking for the Purchasing Data :
    That is the Purchasing Group and the Vendor and the Chart of accounts.
    Before I can GO to General and Specify the Service Mumber(AC01)
    Can This Purchasing Data Can be Automatically Detmined in the system How to Do It?

  • Service Packages are changing users default calendars

    I'm currently testing Communications Suite 5 cal server 6.2 schema 2. I have everything up and running but I'm running into an issue with with assigning service packages to users though.
    I created all the users from the command line and I used -k legacy option for the calendar. At this point everything is working fine the user calendars I imported from Cal server 6.0 schema 1 all show up and work like they should. Once I assign a service package to a user account it changes their default calendar to the hosted format. Now my users have two calendars their default (hosted format) which is blank and their imported (legacy format) that has all the calendar entries.
    I've changed /opt/SUNWcomm/data/WEB-INF/classes/sun/comm/cli/server/servlet/ resource.properties from switch-caltype=hosted to switch-caltype=legacy and restarted the web container but no luck.

  • Does SAP SRM support accelarated service procurement?

    Dear Guru's ,
    Can you comment on if SAP SRM supports accelerated service procurement ? My client follows the below business process time to time:
    While requiring to perform emergency services (which are also not high valued service), they directly create service entry sheet entering the service performed and create invoice against it in their existing MM system. They donot go for purchase creation and approval process as the effort does not justify the value of the transaction.
    Now, since they are going for SAP SRM system, they want to transfer the accelerated service procurement process to SRM system as well.
    Does SAP SRM support this business process i.e. creation of service entry sheet or confirmation without any reference to Purchase Order? I donot have any system to check it from myside..

    In Std SRM - GR is always is done with reference to Purchase Order
    Therefore it is not possible to post GR or Services without any PO

  • SRM-SUS for Service Entry Sheets - Classic Scenario

    Hi SRM Gurus,
    Our client wants to use SRM-SUS for the Service Entry Sheets (to being with and then later expand more in other SRM areas). The lead system will be R/3 system.
    We will be going with ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0.
    Service Order will be created in R/3 and replicated into SRM (SAP have said this is new functionality in SRM 2007 and SAP will provide us with this functionality in SRM 5.0 as well)
    SAP are also recommending using MDM for hosting the catalogs for service entry sheets to enable vendors to selete their items during the confirmation / filling the service entry sheets. - they say this is mandatory
    SAP are also asking for XI for the data to be transferred from R/3 to SRM (and may be vice versa) - they say this is mandatory.
    Few questions:
    1) What kind of hardware size are we talking about to have SRM-SUS, MDM, XI and Portal (PI)
    2) Are MDM and XI mandatory as said by SAP and if yes, in what scenarios. What is they way around
    3) How good is the functionality provided by SRM-SUS for Services? Is it as good as in R/3 (or even better)? We will be having complex Services in our scnearios.
    4) What can be a typical time to install SRM-SUS, MDM, XI and Portal in the Dev environment to get moving onto the project?
    An early response shall be highly appreciated.

    few answers to your questions
    1) what is the release of SRM  you want to work with?
    2) services in SUS is not available as standard , and will be provided by SAP as consulting up on request.
    3) for hardware requirements , please refer to the master guide for the srm release you will be working on -->
    and also you can refer to the software component matrix in master guide --> to see if any component is mandatory..
    4) XI and MDM as far as i know is mandatory for SRM 6.0 and above , But in SRM 5.0 , XI is compulsory.
    5) so xi is mandatory in anyway in SUS as different systems are involved and therefore is required for routing the documents correctly.
    6) time for installation again depends on your supplier base , and your level of expertise.
    7) it is not always recommended to compare between two different systems , R/3 and SUS are different and so functionality will not be the same
    8) but as far as i know R/3 is stronger functioanlly..

  • Problem allocating service packages to users via delegated admin

    I've created a custom service package using the sample templates. Upon assigning this newly created package to a user via Delegated Administrator I receive the following message "cannot create user - all service packages of this type have been allocated". Problem is I've made about 200 available and the stats for this package show 0 used. Please advice.

  • Adobe and Windows 7 Professional Service Package Updates

    After Microsoft sent down  the latest Service Pack update, both Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom...both of  which had been running previously...now fail to initialize.   The message given was:  Microsoft has been alerted with this problem and will send back a solution.  I called the Adobe Help desk.  We proceeded to de-install everything that could be causing a conflict on the Hewett Packard HP170 running Windows 7 Professional:  all adobe plug-in software, a 2nd monitor, a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet.  Then we uninstalled and reinstalled both Lightroom 4.1 and Photoshop CS6 The problem continued.  Repair referred the situation to "tier 2 support".  That was 3 days ago. 
    In the meantime, I tried an experiment:    Using the  MSCONFIG command, I started the computer in DIAGNOSTIC STARTUP mode rather than NORMAL.  Then I tried to start the previously-new download  CS6 Photoshop and Lightroom 4.1.  BOTH STARTED SUCCESFULLY.  However, both appear now to be trial software.  When I go back to Normal Startup in windows program MSCONFIG,  the need to register for a trial comes up for Photoshop and Lightroom 4.1 doesn't let you save any changes.
    This is not the first Service Pack upgrade/Adobe conflict I have experienced  For the past year, every time Microsoft sent down a service package update, an Adobe program...usually photoshop but sometimes Premier...would stop working. In two severe cases, I took the computer to a dealer who restored the machine to pre-service-pack update points.  . But with the cloud software and CS6, that really should end!
    Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?  If not, do you have a way to get adobe to get back to me on trouble ticket 183659886?

    Are you saying you installed Service Pack 1 after installing Photoshop CS6 and that stopped Photoshop working?
    Because if you're just talking about Windows Update, I keep my systems up to date and no Windows updates have stopped Adobe software from working here.
    I know the problem seems simple from your perspective, but apparently it's not.
    That your software starts when you bring up the system in Safe Mode probably says that something else you have installed and running on that system is interfering.
    Perhaps if you'll explain exactly what it is that's going wrong (when it doesn't work) with specifics, some folks here might be able to help you.  It might be as simple as Windows Update delivering a bum display driver, which you could override yourself by going to the web site of the maker of your video card.
    Do you know how to read the Windows event logs?

    first you have to create the service using AC03 and assing this service to Model serive spec in ML10 and specify this category as INST (plant maintenance), then you create the order and specify the control key which allowes the service, select the operation and in the operation tab in the bottom area you can find the service package and specify the model service spec. you created  so the predefined services will be copied to the order.
    Model service spec is used where you know the service provided perviously and the work is carried out frequently so that the process will be made easier,
    Revision
    Generally revision is used during any long stoppages or planned shut down only, so that they can able to track the orders created, amounts settled etc,
    you can create revision in OIOB
    Task list
    Task list also used where you perform a repeated operation in frequent manner so that data entering during creation of order will be less, you plan your activity,materials , person required everything in task list and assing this task list to the order while creation, you can also use this for maintenance planning.

    Hello Ralph,
    For our client, SAP has confirmed following:
    "Customer has purchased SAP EHS Regulatory Content (ERC).
    With licensing ERC the customer receives access
    to the service marketplace of SAP to download
    i) the licenced content packages, ii) the Admin Guide and iii) the Update Guide."
    So I believe, our client has bought SERC and not SERD and this will be a On Premise solution and we need to download the required content to the client servers and implement the same.
    Is my understanding correct?

    im sure this is pretty trivial but i can't find it in any documentation.
    in the "Sun Java System Communications Services 6 2005Q4 Delegated Administrator Guide" i can read:
    "For instructions on how to allocate and assign service packages, see the Delegated
    Administrator console online help."
    but on the help buttons i've clicked on the console there's no info about assigning group service packages to organizations.
    any help will be appreciated.

    No, the multi-level categorization can be used to more accurately categorize a single issue, but it doesn't provide any capabilities for grouping related tickets. However, you could always create a Case (part of Case Management) to link Service Tickets that are related.
