SSL bug confirmed, with workaround.

As some may have noticed there is a bug in webOS that prevent some web sites from loading and some email servers from being used.
In a chat with PALM support the other day, they confirmed that all webOS phones failed to load a web site (https://mail.eldenmalm.com) where as all other devices and phones did not have any problem.
I "received" this bug with the 2.1.0 update - did not have it before.
I workaround this problem by "browsing" to the URL using IP instead of domain name. Naturally the browser will through a "certificate error" and prompt you to "trust" this certificate or not. Once it is trusted you can also use the IP for mail purposes.

Jan

HP has logged this in its software issue tracking system. We endeavor to continuously improve our software quality and thank you for bringing this to our attention.  We are grateful to the community and will evaluate options based on customer feedback and software best practices.  Also thank you for posting the workaround
Also if you are aware of any other sample sites doing this can you please convey them to me too?  Also does the site have a non-secure access?  Also can you tell me if this URL redirects to another url/ip?  Thanks in advance!
Could I also get a log file from your device?  Please let me know and I will send you a private message with steps.

  • Ssl-handshake fails with scandinavian chars in client certificate

    Hello,
We've run into a problem with 2-way-ssl and certificates that have scandinavian
characters in the subject. The problem cert is used as client-certificate for
authentication and it goes like this:
    1. Client surfs with http in our site, until clicks https-link that will immediately
    start the ssl-handshake
    2. Server presents it's trusted cert-list fine
    3. PIN is being asked fine
    4. Next the request processing stops on the exception below and nothing will happen
    on the client side.
Certs without these äöå -chars work fine, so our guess is that they cause it,
but the certs ought to be according to specs: name-fields encoding is UTF-8 according
to RFC 2459 from year 1999. A failing example-cert is also below.
Would this be a problem with the certificate rather than BEA-implementation?
Same behavior on Windows and Solaris Weblogic 8.11 as such and with SP2 (and with
    sp2 + CASE_ID_NUM: 501454 hotfix).

BMPString is another asn1 type that can be used for certificate attributes with
non-ascii characters. The workaround is simply to use the BMPString instead of
UTF8String for that subject name attribute in the certificate request. This off-course
assumes that you can replace the certificate, and have control over what asn1
type is used for the subject name attributes in the certificate request (via a
tool options, or by generating the request yourself), so it is probably not applicable.

    Thanks again, Pavel!
I'm filing a support case about this. You talked about a workaround (BMPString).
Could you be more spesific? I haven't talked about this issue with Igor
    yet.

Sounds like a bug in certicom code. It should support UTF8String.
    I'd file a support case.
You might be able to use BMPString instead as a workaround.

iTunes 11 is a bag of hurt in Snow Leopard (multiple bugs) - Fixes? Workarounds?
I had been using iTunes 11.0.2 in Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on early 2011 Mac Book Pro. When I went to iTunes store on August 1, it would no longer display the iTunes store, it shows just a blank white screen. Upgrading to the current iTunes 11.0.4 does not help, I still get white screens when I try to go to the iTunes store. If I run iTunes 11.0.2 on a different Lion machine it displays the store just fine.
Before this crippling issue began, I was having two other problems with iTunes 11.
    1) When I was able and did view app descriptions in the iTunes store, I would try to click on the links for reviews, or related apps, etc, and none of the links worked. This problems also does not occur in Lion.
    2) Also, I really do not like the new app sync buttons, "Remove", "Will Remove", "Update", "Will Update". Sometimes iTunes becomes confused on the state of an app, especially when I sync two devices to have the same apps on each. Also, when I have many apps, its a pain to find and click all the "Update" buttons to make them say "Will Update" as I have to read the buttons closely. There should at least be a way to sort the apps by status so I can see all the ones that say "Update" together.
I am on Snow Leopard because I have some Mac apps that still require Rosetta and I do not wish to upgrade. However, it seems that even though Apple says iTunes is compatible with Snow Leopard, they are doing a poor job of testing it in Snow Leopard.
Anyone else seeing these issues with iTunes 11 in Snow Leopard? Any Fixes? Or Workarounds?

You are simply not understanding how app updating works in iTunes 11. Apple has changed it up a bit. When viewing your apps in iTunes, along the top, directly under the LED display click the "updates" tab. This will show you all the apps that have available updates. Then click the "update" button in the lower right of the screen.

This is generally a network issue. As a first trouble shooting step, restart your computer. If that does not work power cycling the internet modem will generally clear up the problem.

I have just transferred my entire application file from an Imac to an identical Imac, both running OS 10.9.5. Everything works fine, excepting that when I attempt to open Photoshop 6, I am prompted for the serial number. I enter the serial number provided by Adobe, which I have confirmed with my "previous purchase" records kept by Adobe. It is demanding a "qualifying product", all of which is contained in the complete files I transferred. Why can't Adobe recognise my valid serial number for Photoshop 6?

    Say what?
    Please use the proper installer.
Are you really talking about Photoshop 6 or about Photoshop CS6?

  • Goods confirmation with quantity 0 and final delivery set

    Dear SRM Experts,
I would like to share with you the below problem that i asked to be answered from SAP support and would appreciate any solution suggestions for this problem.
The problem I'm facing is relevant for two of my clients: one using SRM 4.0 with ECC 5.0 and the other using SRM 5.0 with ECC 6.0.
I was looking for a note solution concerning goods receipt reappearing in the confirmation screen (BBPCF02) although the confirmed quantity was equal to the ordered quantity and by chance I came up against note 1292032 - Goods confirmation with quantity 0 and final delivery set; that was released after a long list of notes that DID ALLOW the posting of Goods confirmation with quantity 0 and final delivery set.
    [Note 1292032|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1292032]
Applying this note through the note implementation or Support package will ELIMINATE the option for the Goods Recipient (that do not have and will not have a PO change authorization) to indicate in any way that he is not expecting to receive those goods.
Please follow the below example to exemplify this problem:
A PO was created as follow:
    Item Product Quantity Price
    1 A1 10 10
    2 A2 10 12
    3 A3 10 14
    4 A4 10 16
    5 A5 10 18
    6 A6 10 20
A first confirmation was created for the following products and quantities:
    Item Product Quantity Final Delivery
    1 A1 5 X
    4 A4 10
    5 A5 2
A second and FINAL confirmation was created for the following products and quantities:
    Item Product Quantity Final Delivery
    2 A2 8 X
    3 A3 10
So at the conclusion of the above example:
For items 1; 2; 3; 4 the delivery completed indicator should be set as all expected quantities were delivered, as per items 5 and 6 they will remain open and as of note 1292032 there will be no way that the Goods Recipient can indicate IN THE SYSTEM that he is not expecting any more deliveries (keep in mind that he do not have any PO change authorization), and the PO will remain as opened and will keep appearing in the Confirm Goods / Services transaction.
Sending an e-mail to the purchaser, asking to set the Delivery Completed indicator in the PO is not a feasible option as all process should be backed up by the system and sending e-mails cannot be monitored by the system.

  • Bug in WITH clause (subquery factoring clause) in Oracle 11?

I'm using WITH to perform a set comparison in order to qualify a given query as correct or incorrect regarding an existing solution. However, the query does not give the expected result - an empty set - when comparing the solution to itself in Oracle 11 whereas it does in Oracle 10. A minimal example os posted below as script. There are also some observations about changes to the tables or the query that make Oracle 11 returning correct results but in my opinion these changes must not change the semantics of the queries.
Is this a bug or am I getting something wrong? The Oracle versions are mentioned in the script.

You're all gonna love this one.....
The WITH clause works. But not easily.
Go ahead, build the query, (as noted in a recent thread, I, too, always use views), set the grants and make sure DISCOVERER and EULOWNER have SELECT privs.
    1. Log into Disco Admin as EULOWNER. Trust me.
    2. Add the view as a folder to the business area.
    3. Log into Disco Desktop as EULOWNER. Don't laugh. It gets better.
    4. Build the workbook and the worksheet (or just the worksheet if apropos)
    5. Set the appropriate "sharing" roles and such
    6. Save the workbook to the database.
    7. Save the workbook to your computer.
    8. Log out of Desktop.
    9. Log back into Desktop as whatever, whoever you usually are to work.
    10. elect "open existing workbook"
    11. Select icon for "open from my computer". See? I told you it would get better!
    12. Open the save .dis file from your computer.
    13. Save it to the database.
    14. Open a web browser and from there, you're on your own.
Fortran in VMS. Much easier and faster. I'm convinced the proliferation of the web is a detriment to the world at large...On the other hand, I'm also waiting for the Dodgers to return to Brooklyn.

  • Confirmation with Serial Number

    Hi all,
Can anyone explain what's the purpose and how it works with confirmation with serial number? I already do customizing for one single entry confirmation to make serial number appear on CO11n.
    regards,
    Arman

What ever we entering the serial number  In Confirmation, Its updating In COIB transaction after transfer you can see the list in
    1) Go to IH20 or IH22
give the material No and serial No U can get the Installation Base No.
    2) Go To IB53
give the installation No, U can see the assigned serial No . for header material
BUT there is no standard report for serial no  relate with order operation
And the table related to serial No "EQUI" is no where link between the  any Confirmation table.

  • PO Confirmations with Multiple Line items

    Hi Experts,
In our Business Scenario, the Purchase Order Confirmations are being received by IDoc from Vendors. IDoc Basic Type is ORDERS01.
Issue is when we have one PO line item, then the IDoc is getting processed successfully. But when we have Multiple PO line items, then the IDoc is failing with the following error
Material number differs from that of ordered material 000000000001797950
    Message no. ME790
    Diagnosis
The acknowledgment/confirmation for purchase order no. 8195817140 with item 00002 cannot be adopted because the customer material number  from the IDOC differs from the material number 000000000001797950 from the PO.
    Procedure
Either change the customer material number in the IDOC or get the vendor to send a new acknowledgment/confirmation with the correct material number.
There is no control observed in the Material. For the second line item of the PO it is happening. If this Material is a first line item in the PO, then this issue won't be there.
    Request for your inputs please
    Thank you,
    Best Regards,
    Ramakrishna Mangena

    Hi,
Use T code WE60 to search for the segment documentation of IDoc type
IDoc needs three different kinds of segment types:
E1EDK01 is the main segment of an ORDERS01 IDoc.Used for calling program to pass the SAP IDoc syntax check.
E1EDP01 is the segment for a single order position. The field MENGE contains the quantity. Of course, this segment can occur more the once.
E1EDP19 represents an object definition. In this case the object is a material number. The field QUALF is therefore set to 002 and the material number is written into the IDTNR field. E1EDP19 segments are always children of E1EDP01

  • Confirmation with COR6N

    Hi
I have a problem when I need to confirm my finished product with the trx COR6N, it only shows the components (261), but for the finished product I have to post the confirmation with MIGO. It only happens when I have more than one phase in my master recipe. If I have only one phase, the confirmation for my finished product can be posted in COR6N. My control key has the Aut. Goods receipt checked and confirmation required.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Your question is not clear...Automatic goods receipt is not happening when you have more than one phase?? is this is your issue......Automatic goods receipt setting can be done in two places....
    1. Control key..assign the control key to the last phase and check...
    2. Production scheduling profile..here also you can activate the automatic goods receipt indicator and assign this in work scheduling view in material master then check...
    Thanks

  • IOS 7 bug list and workarounds

Here's the list of bugs I've found so far in iOS7 (I have an iPhone 4S).  Anyone know workarounds, or better yet, fixes to them?
    * volume disabled in Music appt
Workaround: have to unplug and replug headphones to enable.
    Fix: unknown.
    * calendar does not have a setting for list view
Workaround: now requires constantly clicking on magnifying glass
    Fix: unknown
    * ".com" button missing from keyboard layout when typing into URL field in Safari
    Workaround: tap and hold '.'
    Fix: unknown.
Anyone else want to contribute to the known bug list and workarounds?
Also, are iPhone 5 users experiencing the same problems?  (I would assume so, but well, assumptions.)

A "bug" is an unintentional error in software. Though you may not like this change, it's fairly obviously working the way Apple intended.
