SSM required for Data Mobility Manager?

Everything I am reading is saying that to do DMM, I need a SSM. Yet when I review the CCIE Storage lab equipment list there is no SSM module listed, yet the lab blueprint says "Implement DMM". Is there a way to implement DMM without a SSM?

Stephen, no worries, but it seems that since the Storage lab uses a 9222i and MSM's, that is how they do SME, DME, Santap etc.
In fact, I have searched but have not found a comparison document of intelligent features supported by MSM, 9222i, and SSM. I am a bit confused over what you can or can't do with one vs. the other as far as intelligent features are concerned.

1. If you are selling the Service , Use Material Type u201CDIENu201D and for billing with SD module ,u have to use MM with HR module like (Time & Material ) ie..Expense recording (PR05) then PRRW and PRFI.
2 .If vendors provide service for you and you can procure the service and pay to vendor.
The configuration required are:
2.1. Define organization status for service category
SPRO u2013>MM-> ESM->Service master- >Define organization status for service category
2.2. Define Number Ranges
SPRO u2013>MM-> ESM->Service master- >.Define Number Ranges
2.3. Define Service Category

Bandwidth requirement for a Mobile solution

Is there any data that I can use to determine the bandwidth requirement needs for a mobile solution? (In a connected mode). Lets assume that we have only 1 user using only one app/screen - mobile sales order. For each sales order, what will be the bandwidth used? Assumption is that the screen is also loaded and data is also transmitted.

Recurring Inspection is required for non batch managed material

My scenerio is I want recurring inspection of material but my material is not batch managed. is there any way around to cater this requirement?

Without Batch management the reccuring inspection is not possible because if you receive 100 quantity of material A on date X and consume 50 and again you purchase 50 on daye Y and comsume 30 out of it .. Then how the system will know about when to trigger this inspection and for how much quantity..Even you use development the system canot identify the materials got consumed .. If it is serialized material then you can do it by creating the development table and maintaining the receipt date for each serial no and the inspection date...

Bridge for data asset management?

I've been looking for a while for a 'simple' data asset management application.
What it should be able to do or have is:
1. a simple interface, manageable by anyone.
2. both mac and windows compatible
3. drag and drop facilitated for both images AND their description into inDesign.
Why?: we work for a large mall group, that produces some 20 large folders a year. No need to say we have built up an image database of thousands of items, most of which are reused regularly. Locating them for use in a new folder is not such a problem in itself; but reusing the text is. Each time, our client provides more or less the 'same' texts and prices (they retype them), which means that all texts, whether they have been published 10 times before or not, always have to be reread, reviewed by a copywriter, and on top of that, retranslated (in Belgium, you always need editions in Dutch and French). This is a silly and costly situation.
I love to use Expression Media for comparing pictures, and it's drag and drop capable - for picutres - not for text. Bridge doen't seem to do the job either, and it's not an actual database.
So is there a simple way or application (affordable) to get over this problem, without the need of some complicated Unix-based, nerd-interfaced server?

Did you tried to explore Canto Cumulus ?
They have two editions, the 'single user' (very affordable) and a more complex build to order. When you have many users on different locations or use over a network it might be to complex for the single user version I'm afraid ;-(

I am stuck up in an issue where I know the logic but unable to write a code. I have the requirement as follows :-
I have the records in Excel as given below:-
Fiscal Year          2004
Key                     004
Capitalization       A
Norm Debts         B=0.7*A
Rate of Interest    C
Repayment          D=B/10
Op. Balance         D=B/10
Cl. Balance          E = B-D
Total Interest        G=E+F/2*C
The above records are the data which I am loading first time and only one record. The cube shud be populated with the data till Closing Balance becomes zero.
So my logic will be
First record by excel and second onwards is :-
Fiscal Year         2004 +1 (It shud add 1 to every record till closing balance becomes zero)
Key                    004 (Constant till Closing balance becomes Zero)
Capitalization      A (Constant till Closing balance becomes Zero)
Norm Debts        B (Constant till Closing balance becomes Zero)
Rate of Interest    C (Constant till Closing balance becomes Zero)
Repayment         D (Constant till Closing balance becomes Zero)
Opening Balance   (Closing Balance will become Opening Balance here) = B-D
Closing Balance     (Closing balance will now again will be debited by repayment that is B-2D)
Total interest        = (Opening Balance + Closing Balance)/ 2 * Rate of Interest
So next record will be opening balance = B-2D and Closing Balance will be B-3D and the record shud be automatically fetched till Closing Balance becomes zero.
Any help will be assigned with points.

I think in ur case u have to LOOP aginst source_package
in the start routine only then you can get ur requirement.
Data: w_temp1 like source_package-cl.balance.
while w_temp1 eq 0.

We are planning to implement a document management system Oracle Application Server. Here are the high-level requirements:

· 600 GB of documents
· Workflow
· Alerts e-mailed on document adds/updated, for workflow
· Search of document titles, properties, keywords, content
· Daily backup of new/updated documents
In regards to Oracle Application Server (Portal), can someone provide me the following information:
1. What Oracle AS server architecture would we need to handle the above requirements?
2. What is the Oracle recommended method of scaling up our current Oracle Portal instance in regard to:
a. Capacity
b. Achieving 24x7 availability
3. When documents are stored via an Item upload in Oracle Portal, are they stored in the database or as the actual file?

Generally this products stores documents in database BLOB field.
I personally don't like this approach.
We developed a media library that stores the files in filessystem, but the metadata is in database. The database references to the file in filesystem with a BFile field

The system is very fast so I think it was a good decision to store the media this way.
If you use this approach you have to create database and filessystem backup also.
Filessystem backup is much faster and there are several very good tools to make an incremental backup.

Memory Requirements for Wily Enterprise Manager

Hi,
I am using Wily 8.0 and we are seeing slowness in SOLMAN JAVA stack and in Wily EM. Before throwing memory I am trying to understand following points. I have already gone through installation documents which does not cover following points
1> I understand Wily EM requires heap memory. Does Wily EM heap memory is same as JAVA heap, I mean both JAVA node and Wily EM access same assigned part of memory OR both JAVA node and Wily EM needs seperate memory? As per this I will throw more memory at box.
2> Installation guide say "Increase the heap size (u2013Xmx) of the Enterprise Manager if you have more than
~10 agents" but how much? I did not see any formula for this.
3> I am observing Wily EM process at O.S level is keep running continuously since I restarted it last time (which is weeks now). Is it normal?

Wily needs JVM Heap memory, which would be different from J2EE Instance HEAP. Adding additional physical RAM to your server will definitely help.
Question 2.
Set the Heap Size parameters to a minimum of 1024 MB
Initial Java Heap Size (in MB)
wrapper.java.initmemory=1024
Maximum Java Heap Size (in MB)
wrapper.java.maxmemory=1024 ((higher the better....)
Set the Java VM parameter u2013Djava.awt.headless=true for all platforms.
Otherwise, the Enterprise Manager will need an X server, i.e., the DISPLAY
environment variable must point to a valid X Windows server.
The file to maintain the parameterization is EMService.conf available in the
standard insttallation path /usr/sap/ccms/wilyintroscope

Complex requirement for Date/Time Period related - Please help!!

This is a complex requirement by my client.
There is a Patients table with the patient's eligbility for the insurance, on monthly wise. I have to find the Inactive patients and also when they are Inactive in the past as well as as of now.
Few points about the table and logic:
1.Data is from Jan 2012 and it is on monthly basis. For Eg: if he enrolls on Jan 2012 and he is active till last month(Jan 31,2015), then From Jan 2012 to Jan 2015, one record per each month is available. ie total of 37 records for him. If he is Inactive
for a period then that period record will be missing.
2.I need to consider from the day they enrolled to till Jan 31st,2015, to find out whether they are Inactive for any months between their enrolled date to till Jan 31st,2015.
3. In the below image, PatientID 1000 - No issue with him. he enroled on Aug 2014 and has records till Jan 2015 - No issues. He will not be counted for Inacive members.
4.patientID 1001 - He is active till now as he hsa records till Jan 2015. But he was Inactive from 2014-06-06 to till 2014-06-30. So,he has to be counted as 'less than 1 month Inactive member for 2014'
5.PatientID 1002 - He is active till now as he haa records till Jan 2015. But he was Inactive from 2014-09-01 to till 2014-09-30. So,he has to be counted as ' 1 month Inactive member for 2014'
6.PatientID 1003 - He was Inactive for 09th &10th months for 2014. and also he has record only till Dec 2014. So,he has to be counted as '2 month Inactive member for 2014' and '1 month Inactive for 2015'
7.PatientID 1004 - He is active from jan 2012 to Apr 2012 only. So,he has to be counted as '8 month Inactive member for 2012','12 month Inactive member for 2013','12 month Inactive member for 2014' and '1 month Inactive for 2015'
Please help me to find this as this is very complex for me - Finally they want a table like the second image below
In the table X=0 means Count of all Members who are NOT inactive ).

Create something like a calendar table with a column with dates from enough years that will cover your patient history. For example dates from Jan 1, 2012 to some future date like Dec 31, 2020. Then it will be an OUTER join with this calendar table and get
DISTINCT months when the patient was inactive.
The calendar table can have just Month and Year too instead of dates. But usually dates can be useful in many other scenarios too.

Is there a possibility to display the values with a date range.
I mean if there is no data for a particular date within the given range. it should display some null value.

What are the System Requirement for LC Rights Management

I went to the Adobe public and partner site, the only System Requirements I found for RM are on the public site. This link http://www.adobe.com/products/livecycle/rightsmanagement/ has the hight level system info like the OS systems supported etc. But does not provide minimum memeory, disk space info. If you have info on this, I would appreciate your input.

Go to t-code FILE.
Click on Logical file path definition and hit the New Entries button
Enter your logical path name, say ZXXX
Go back to FILE
In the right window, click on the block on the left to highlight the line you just created.
Now double-click on Assignment of physical paths to logical path
Now click New Entries.
Select your syntax group (this is just your O/S)
Here you can enter your physical path.
