SSO to two seperate instances of SAP BW in one WebI report

Hello,
I have a question that a customer raised regarding SAP authentication.
They are using SAP Authentication to InfoView, and SSO back to SAP BW for data retrieval.  In a Web Intelligence report, they have 2 data providers, both are SAP BW,  but both of the SAP BW systems are completely separate.  Therefore, a given user has a login ID in both SAP systems.  Right now, when they try to refresh the Web Intelligence report, one of the data providers works fine, but the other data providers is not able to authenticate.  It seems the login ID is prefixed with the system name.  So, the 2nd data provider has a different system name and the SSO is trying to log into the first system.
Therefore, the question is this, given the same userID and password in both systems, is there a way to make SSO work in this scenario.
Thank you very much for your help,
Scott

hi,
there are two options:
- if passwords are identical you can simply use user aliases in the the CMC of your BOE system
- if they are not you will have to implement SNC.

  • SAP BO 4.1 Webi report sample with prompts to try Restful api

I was not able to find, in the report demo samples available in the SAP BO 4.1 installation, a Webi report with prompts.
I found many Webi reports samples but all are without prompts.
I need at least one Webi report sample with prompts to try the Restful API http://localhost:6405/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/7090/parameters and http://localhost:6405/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/7090/schedules with parameters body.
Where can I found such webi sample?
    Thanks,
    Riccardo

As you have BI 4.1 installed, you could design a sample webi report using Webi Rich Client tool.
Open Webi rich client, select the sample eFashion universe drag few objects in the query and a filter. Set the filter as a prompt and save the report to Enterprise.
Now you could now use this sample report for your handson on REST SDK.

  • How to enable SSO between two peoplesoft Instances

    Hi,
How can we enable SSO between 2 Peoplesoft Instances.
Instance no1 has 2 webs on seperate servers and db on seperate server
Instance no 2 has web/app on one server and only DB on seperate server
    Thanks

    Hi,
First make sure the webservers and application servers can communicate with each other by open firewall rules, if not done yet.
Set the default local nodes to user authenticate and make sure the node are pingable from the other environment.
After this set the remote nodes to be trusted and SSO of PeopleSoft is done.

  • Multiple Universes (based on SAP BI Query) & single WebI Report

    Hi,
We build OLAP Universes on SAP BI Queries. One of the ways to consume multiple universes in a single WebI report is to "add query" from another universe into the same WebI page / another WebI tab for the report.
Is there a possibility to pick and choose fields from different Universes (based on SAP BI Queries), into a single WebI report ... of course respecting their technical linkage.
    regards,
    Rajesh K Sarin

    Hi Ingo,
We have created multiple subject Area Universes (based on SAP BI Queries). Is there a possibility to select a particular object from one of the Universe and another object from another Universe into the same grid eg. Notification Number from Work Management Universe (SAP BI Query based on Customer Service Data Flow / Multiprovider) and Invoice Number from Invoicing Universe (SAP BI Query based on Invoicing Data Flow / Multiprovider). Common aspects for both of these could be say a Customer Account Number.
As per my understanding, we cannot do this if we have created Universes on SAP BI Queries.
Nearest possible option is to display two tables on the same WebI report - one from Work Mgmt Universe and other from Invoicing Universe.
    Please guide.

  • SAP BI Mobile Publishing Webi report issue

    Hi All,
We want to use the BI Mobile App on IPad for Webi reports. The app is successfully implemented on the IPad, connection to BO server is done, categories are visible. But no report.
In Webi I tried to publish my report to the respective 'mobile' category, but the the 'Publish to' is missing in the menu.
Save as is possible, but it has no effect.
I checked the CMC and I have full authorisation for publishing (and anything else).
What could be the reason that the 'Publish to' menu is not visible? Is this the reason why I do not see my Webi report in the Bi Mobile app?
I would appreciate any kind of help.
    Danya

    HI Danya,
You have already done the configuration it seems.
    Mobile Category has been created.
Can you go to your report, right click, categories
    add it to Mobile categories
    check on your ipad
Also, which version of BI and SAP BI app for mobile are you using?
Cn you elaborate on the publish to menu, with a screenshot may be

  • How to access data from SAP Tables from a Webi report

    hi all,
I have a webi report for financial data and from a Bex query which is build on a Cube (this has data from 2 SAP ECC systems)
i want to build a functionality where in i can call some SAP Table data from this webi report. i should be able to pass information or some hard code where it can understand the source system it has to pick data from.
in SAP BI, we have this ption wherein we can achieve this through RRI..
is this possible in Webi ?
    Thanks
    SKS

    Hi.
Create a universe on top of SAP Tables and create a webi report.
Using hyper link /open doc we can call  this report from the webi report created on top of your Cube .

  • Two BI Reports in one WEBI Report ?

    Hi Guys
i have 2 BI sales reports in BEX Query Designer. One shows the Summary of Sales in a month and the Other shows the Details of the Sales. The USers want to see both the Reports in WEBI on one page as one report. they want the summary report to show on the top part of the page and the Detail part on the bottom of the same page.
    is this possible ?
if so what will happen to the two selection menus for each report in WEBI. both BI reports have a selection menu. will they show up as one selections menu in the WEBI report?

if you have the same text for the prompts into the selection lists for your Bex queries, i think Webi will merge them into one promots, im not sure, but i think it will be merged
but make sure that they have the same prompt text

  • Consolidation of data in two different instances

    Hi,
I am having a scenario that ABCD is a subsidiary of holding company PQRS. Both the systems are running on two different instances of SAP. Now the ABCD is going for SAP implementation. PQRS is interested to consolidate the data of PQRS as well as ABCD. In ABCD, let me presume that the group chart of account has been used and each GL account of operating chart of account has been mapped to group chart of account GL account. Now, the question is how the data of ABCD can be transferred / moved to PQRS. The presumptions are: 1. There is RFC connections between ABCD and PQRS 2. PQRS is consolidating using EC-CS
Please throw some light on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. If your source system is sending all the entries in a single message you can easily do this via the mapping in XI
    2. Suppose your source system is sending these 4 message separately and then you want to consolidate, then you will have to involve BPM.
You will need to collect these messages and then have a N:1 mapping that does the consolidation

  • Two IBR instances based on doc type.

Hi, I've got two IBR instances (11g) on differents machines (one on Unix and the other on Windows), and they works fine with UCM. But what I want is that UCM choose the IBR in order to send documents, and the choice must be based on the de doc type. For example, if it's a MS Office file, I want this document to be sended to Windows IBR. In other case, documents goes to Unix IBR.
Could this be possible to do?
    Thanks.

    Hi Sai,
Documents can be viewed and controlled based on document types etc. While you search documents all documents will be displayed.
If the user doesn't av the authorization for a particular document type when he tries to double click on document it shows an error message as  " No authorization for that document type".
CV04N:Find documents is a std report where you cannot change it.

  • Max Instance of One DESKI Report for Schedule

    Hi,
Can someone pls let me know how many Max Instance we can create for One DESKI Report for Scheduling.
    Thanks in advance.

    Jason,
Thanks for the info. The query builder o/p and the application o/p are the same. When this situation happened last time I just simply deleted those older instances from the history and left only the current one.
This has forced the query to return the only available instance, which is the current one.
My suspect here is that, the SI_ID of a new instance is smaller than the older instance...
    for example,
    Instance 1 - 10023
    Instance 2 - 12344
    Instance 3 - 9892
Is this possible?? Since I have deleted the older instances I have no way to confirm this case unless it happens again.
The BO documentation about SI_ID reads like this...
"This property is used to uniquely identify an object. The number is assigned at creation time, and is never changed until the object is destroyed. You should never hard-code this number, however, since if the object is destroyed the number may be assigned to another object. No two objects have the same ID, even if they are different types of objects; that is, you will never find a report that has the same ID as a folder."
As it claims that an ID can be re-used if the object is destoryed I assume that though the new ID will be unique there is no guarantee that it will be bigger than the previous instance of the same object.
But the problem is that I dont have a documentation proof to claim this hence asking help from the guru's here...

    Elan.

I tried what you have said, but i got the following error.
<b>SAPInst could not find any SAP J2EE instances that match the Portal Platform requirements. The installation stops. Install the SAP J2EE 6.40 according to the Portal PAM requirements, and run the portal installation again.</b>

  • How can I set up two control panels in two seperate monitors using Lookout version 4?

I have Lookout version 4, and dual monitors and i am trying to make it so two seperate control displays come up at the same time upon opening in the different monitors.  The guy at tech support said it is not possible, so Iwas wondering if anybody has a possible creative solution to this problem?

Run two instances of Lookout (not possible in LO6+)
You would need to manual put each process on each display

    Hi,
We're having a problem with communication between two copies of Weblogic on
the same machine. They are configured with seperate ports (regular and SSL).
Independantly, they run fine. I can access EJBs running on either of them.
The problem is that a bean in one of them has code which attempts to access
an EJB on the other one. The procude fails when trying to obtain the initial
context. This same code works if compilied independantly of WebLogic on the
    same machine.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
There is one IP address (internal address 10.227.1.34) one the machine. WLS1
is set up at ports 7001 and 5133. WLS2 is setup at ports 7004 and 7005.
When WLS1 attempts to obtain a context to WLS2 with the URL
t3://10.227.1.34:7004/ it pauses for a long period of time. Running truss
on the both WLS processes shows communication occuring between the two
followed by long periods of silence. Finally WLS2 spits out the error
    ConnectionException[7001,7001,5133,5133,7001,7001] (paraphrased, I can get
the entire error if it would help).
After another long pause, WLS1 quits trying with the error 'Server
    10.227.1.34:7004 not found' (again paraphrased).
    Among the things we've tried:
    * Changing the URL from the IP to 127.0.0.1
    * Enabling/disabling SSL on either or both WLSs.
    * Changing the server name in WLS2's copy of weblogic.properties from
'myserver' to 'myserver2' (previously they were both 'myserver')
    * Upgrading WLS2 to 5.1.0sp5 (Tried upgrading WLS1, but was getting class
not found errors and quit because that WLS is being used by other people)
This is a Solaris server. WLS1 is running 5.1.0 and WLS2 is running 5.1.0sp5
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • CNR: Two cnr instances in the same server (lab environment)

Hello, we are trying to install two cnr 7.2 intances on the same server in order to replicate in lab the real environnment (failover local cluster) without deploying two servers.
I've seen on the installation guide that installing both a local and regional server on a single machine is supported, but what about two local servers working as a failover pair?
up to date, we've managed to install both installs, the dhcp servers are configured for using different interfaces and web gui are listening in different ports. scp ports have been changed (1234 and 4321 ) and, on dhcp-server expert configuration: failover-remote-port and failover-port are configured to be different (677 - 678 in one , and 678 - 677 in the other)
We can manage both servers from DHCP - failover configuration, as they show up and running, and even see logs... The other configs are
When trying to syncronize we get the error

    is this configuration supported?

    Hi,
We are planning to install second instance of Oracle 11gR2 in Linux server 2.6.39-400.21.1.el6uek.x86_64 x86_64. This is something we never haven done before. If you have such experience, please give us some insight.
The existing instance has all the standard ports:
    Connecting to (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=)(PORT=1521))
Enterprise Manager Console HTTP Port (pterpdb02) = 1158
    Enterprise Manager Agent Port (pterpdb02) = 3938
What ports should we select for second listener and enterprise manager? Is there anything else that we need to know before we install the second instance? If you want a second database instance, no additional installation is required - as long as you want to run the second instance at the same version as the the first. Just fire up dbca and create the second database. One installation of Oracle (one ORACLE_HOME) is capable of supporting many database instances, though the same may or may not be said of the hardware it is running on.
As already said, one listener is enough. One listener, running from one oracle home, using the default name of LISTENER, running on the defualt port of 1521, is quite capable of -- indeed, WAS DESIGNED TO, supporte multiple database instances of multiple versions running from multiple ORACLE_HOMEs.
One instance of dbcontrol/dbconsole will support only one database. If you do not use Grid Control (extra installation, extra license) you will need to use the emca utility or one of the options in the dbca utility to configure a seperate instance of dbcontrol for each database. Don't worry about the ports, the creation utility will take care of it and report what it does.

  • TMS Setup - One package to two seperate landscapes

My customer has one development instance that services two test and production landscapes for seperate geographical regions. This is a new installation and they are developing using packages. They currently belive that they can transport the objects from those packages to each landscape via the same package, transport layer and transport route. I'm contending that that is not possible due to each package having only one transport layer and that they will have to create a seperate package with the same objects for each landscape if they want to transport to both. I'm a bit inexperienced at this and could use any advice available to confirm that either I am right or that it is possible to transport to two seperate landscapes.. Is it possible to setup STMS transport routes to transport to two seperate environments from the same transport layer?
    Regards.

    Hi Joe,
Your contention is correct. A package/development class can be assigned to only one transport layer at a time.
My solution may not really match your business requirements. However if it possible to identify objects that will be needed in both  the systems then you can assign them a single package which will have a common transport layer which will serve both the test systems and subsequently production systems. A bit of manual work but should solve this for you.
    Regards.
