SSRS Custom Code Error There is an error on line 0 of custom code: [BC30205] End of statement expected.
I am receiving this error with the following code, which counts the number of work days between two parameters and I don't see the problem. Please help.
Public Function GetDateCount(ByVal StartDate AS DateTime, ByVal EndDate AS DateTime) AS Integer
Dim TempVal AS Integer
DimTotalDays AS Integer
TotalDays = 0
TempVal = DateDiff(DateInterval.Day, StartDate, EndDate) + 1
for I as Integer = 1 to TempVal
If(StartDate.DayOfWeek.ToString() <> "Sunday" AND StartDate.DayOfWeek.ToString() <> "Saturday") Then
TotalDays = TotalDays +1
End If
StartDate = DateAdd(DateInterval.day, 1, StartDate)
Next
Return TotalDays
End Function
Hi CNet Vase,
According to your description, you want to use custom code to count the number of work days between two parameters in the report, but when you run the report, an error occurs.
I reproduced the issue in my environment, the error message: ‘DimTotalDays’ is not declared. The error is caused by there is no space between Dim and variable TotalDays, so the system regards it as a unit. To fix this issue, please type
space behind the word Dim like below:
Dim TotalDays AS Integer
If there is any misunderstanding , please feel free to let me know.

Execute Process Task - Error :The process exit code was "2" while the expected was "0".
I am designing a utility which will keep two similar databases in sync. In other words, copying the new data from db1 to db2 and updating the old data from db1 to db2.
For this I am making use of the 'Tablediff' utility which when provided with server name, database, table info will generate .sql file which can be used to keep the target table in sync with the source table.
I am using the Execute Process Task and the process parameters I am providing are:
WorkingDirectory : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\COM
Executable : C:\SQL_bat_Files\SQL5\TC_CTI\customer.bat
The customer.bat file will have the following code:
tablediff -sourceserver "LV-SQL5" -sourcedatabase "TC_CTI" -sourcetable "CUSTOMER_1" -destinationserver "LV-SQL2" -destinationdatabase "TC_CTI" -destinationtable "CUSTOMER" -f "c:\SQL_bat_Files\sql5\TC_CTI\sql_files\customer1"
the .sql file will be generated at: C:\SQL_bat_Files\sql5\TC_CTI\sql_files\customer1.
The Problem:
The Execute Process Task is working fine, ie., the tables are being compared correctly and the .SQL file is being generated as desired. But the task as such is reporting faliure with the following error :
[Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "C:\SQL_bat_Files\SQL5\TC_CTI\package_occurrence.bat" "" at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\COM", The process exit code was "2" while the expected was "0". ]
Some of you may suggest to just set the ForceExecutionResult = Success (infact this is what I am doing now just to get the program working), but, this is not what I desire.
Can anyone help ?Jwelch,
Thanks for the input,
"Change the SuccessValue property of the Execute Process task from 0 to 2 (which means that you will get a failure if there are no differences, since TableDiff returns 0 in that case)."
-- Not possible b'coz if there is no difference in the tables, which is also a possiblility, the job will fail.
"FailTaskIfReturnCodeIsNotSuccessValue to FALSE (which means it won't fail regardless of the code returned)."
-- Does this mean the job will never fail? Lets say the target table doesnt exist, then, by setting "FailTaskIfReturnCodeIsNotSuccessValue to FALSE " will the job fail? I guess my question is, how is what you've suggested different from setting "ForceExecutionResult = Success". Both the cases will show the task status "Success" even if there is an error.
Is there a way to keep the property of job 'Failure' if there is any generic errors like target table not found or say, the path given for .sql file output is not valid etc.
Thanks again,

How to control or manipulate a report parameter through SSRS Custom Code
Hi,
In reporting services 2005 or 2008, is it possible to control the parameters inside the custom code of a report?
for example:
Let's say I have a parameter that displays the following value:
Red
Green
Blue
In typical scenario I can select one of the values or I can select all of the values then click the View Report button in reporting services.
I know that this approach is much easier to do if I have an external application like ASP.Net and from there I'll just add report viewer and control the parameters to be passed and then generate the report.
In the report I added text box that will serve as a hyperlink to refresh report:
In the Text Box Properties\Action tab. Is it possible to control the selection of values through a custom code(SSRS Custom Code) then the report will be automatically refreshed?
thanks,
JoeferNot sure about doing a multiple selection. But you can pop up an input box to get the input on the fly.
Add the below custom code and expression for the above parameter
Public function Getparamvalue() AS STRING
Dim x as STRING
x = InputBox("Enter Red / Blue / Green")
Return(x)
End function
=Code.Getparamvalue() -
Is there anyone at all here who has successfully compiled and deployed an SSRS custom report item in VS2012? Is there a demo out there that actually works in VS2012? Is there anyone who has actually been able to compile and deploy that
apparently obsolete Polygons demo? (Pardon my impatience but I'm running a bit short of time here.)
After much hacking and googling I was able to get Polygons to compile but I still can't deploy it to the toolbox. ('The custom report item type PolygonsDesigner is not installed'). I've modified the RSReportDesigner.config
as instructed but I have no rssrvpolicy.config file on my local machine and
as yet I have no idea if that is necessary for local development.
In order to get it to compile I first added the reference C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.ReportingServices.ProcessingCore.dll to both projects.
To the PolygonsDesigner Project I also added the references:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Controls.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.ReportingServices.Designer.11.0.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn\Microsoft.ReportingServices.Interfaces.dll
Are these the correct references?
Exactly what software do you need installed on your local machine in addition to VS2012 in order to create a custom control?
(Designer.11.0 was added per the instructions in reference: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/783391/unable-to-integrate-previously-working-ssrs-custom-report-item-to-vs-2012s-toolbox
After that I added the alias RSDesigner to it's properties and extern alias RSDesigner; at the top of the PolygonsDesigner.cs file. )
As of now, the top of the PolygonsDesigner.cs is as follows. I don't recall making any other changes to the code. As far as I can remember this is all I did in order to be able to compile the code in VS2012.
extern alias RSDesigner;
using System;
using System.ComponentModel;
using System.ComponentModel.Design;
using System.Collections;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Diagnostics;
using System.Drawing;
using System.Windows.Forms;
using Microsoft.ReportDesigner;
using Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Design;
using Microsoft.ReportingServices.Interfaces;
using Microsoft.ReportingServices.RdlObjectModel;
using System.Xml;
using System.Xml.Xsl;
using System.Xml.XPath;
[LocalizedName("Polygons")]
[Editor(typeof(CustomEditor), typeof(ComponentEditor))]
[ToolboxBitmap(typeof(PolygonsDesigner), "Polygons.ico")]
[CustomReportItem("Polygons")]
[ToolboxItem(typeof(RSDesigner::Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Shell.CRIToolboxItem))]
[System.CLSCompliant(false)]
public class PolygonsDesigner : CustomReportItemDesigner
{ etc...Just fixed this myself.
It appears the documentation online is wrong and the sample code is missing a reference to a reporting services dll and an attribute.
What you need to do to get it working in VS2012 is add a reference to: Microsoft.ReportingServices.designer.11.0.dll to the PolygonsDesigner project and then add the following attribute to the PolygonsDesigner class: [ToolboxItem(typeof(Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Shell.CRIToolboxItem))]
I also removed the [System.CLSCompliant(false)] attribute.
You then recompile and place both dlls in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies directory and the PolygonsDesigner.dll into the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
or what ever is you reporting services path.
You also need to change the Microsoft example for the rereportserver.config file to:
<ReportItemDesigner>
<ReportItem Name="Polygons" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PolygonsDesigner, PolygonsDesigner" />
</ReportItemDesigner>
<ReportItems>
<ReportItem Name="Polygons" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PolygonsCRI,PolygonsCRI"/>
</ReportItems>
Notice that I changed the namespaces and class to what is in the actual code so if you change it make sure you change it here.
And here in the RSReportDesigner.config:
<ReportItems>
<ReportItem Name="Polygons" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PolygonsCustomReportItem,PolygonsCRI" />
</ReportItems>
<ReportItemDesigner>
<ReportItem Name="Polygons" Type="Microsoft.Samples.ReportingServices.PolygonsDesigner, PolygonsDesigner" />
</ReportItemDesigner>
<ReportItemConverter>
<Converter Source="Chart" Target="Polygons" Type="PolygonsCRI.PolygonsConverter, PolygonsDesigner" />
</ReportItemConverter>
Notice I haven't changed the last part as I didn't know what the PolygonsCRI.PolygonsConverter was.
And make sure the rssrvpolicy.config looks like this:
<CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="FullTrust" Description="This code group grants PolygonsCRI.dll FullTrust permission. ">
<IMembershipCondition class="UrlMembershipCondition" version="1" Url="C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.SQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin\PolygonsCRI.dll" />
</CodeGroup>
After a restart of ssrs and relaunch of VS2012 I opened a test project and added the PolygonsDesigner.dll to the toolbox and it works.

Ssis execute process task error: process exit code was 1 while the expected was 0
Hi Sir,
in my SSIS Package(2012) i am using Execute Process Task which will call bat file. bat file is located on UNC Path.i am having the below script in the batch file.
del \\servername\foldername\name.txt
rcmd \\servername D:\name1.bat
del \\servername\foldername\name2.txt
xcopy \\servername\foldername\file.txt \\server\foldername\outfilefolder
i am getting the below error message:
ssis execute process task error: process exit code was 1 while the expected was 0
i want know at what cases error exit code was 1?
Thanks for your time.Hi prasad.alm,
The error is generic and can be caused by various factors. Here are some suggestions for your reference:
Manually run the executable to execute the batch file so that we can check whether the command lines in the batch file are correct or not.
Check there are no duplicate/existing files in the destination folder.
Try to run the package in 32-bit or 64-bit runtime mode.
If the issue occurs when running a job, try to create a CmdExec type job step to call the excutable. If this job also fails, it might be an issue between executable and SQL Server Agent rather than the SSIS package itself.
If the issue persists, enable logging for the package, and check if we can obtain more detailed error message for further analysis.

Mike Yin

I need one help. In our one schema we have design like one temp and one parmanent table. The parmanent table is partition and we are used to exchange this partition with temporary table.
It was working fine but since last many days we are facing a issue that while exchanging the table partition or coz some activity the table get courrepted and get the following error
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ktsircinfo_num1], [24], [2],

Can anyone help us out. Any suggetion is greatful.
ThanksIt was working fine but since last many days we are facing a issueReview the changes that might have happened to the server in those past few days. OS upgrade, OS move, Oracle upgrade, post installation steps unsuccessful/not completed could be some of the many reasons, among others that Oracle support will identify when you open a SR, as suggested above.

How to Test SSRS Custom Data Extension in TSql
Hi There,
I have created a custom data extenstion for SSRS 2008 Reporting Service.
I can test the CDE in the Report DataSet -> DataSet Properties -> Query Designer -> Run Query.
In the Command Text I pass parameters to the invoked VB code which is of type "BaanstedeCds" then name of my custom data extension.
I can even Attach the Visual Studio VB Code Project that is invoked by the Query Designer an debug the code.
The custom data extension works perfectly in SSRS.
However I have not found a way yet to run BaanstedeCds (with a parametertext) from within SSMS 2008 by using an T-SQL statement!!! Is there a way to use the SSRS Custom Data Extension in Sql Server Management Studio using the dataset type I used in
SSRS 2008?
Because I am leaving the path of using Custom Assemblies in SSMS, for deploying an testing that way is undoable for me.
I is to complicated and in order to properly debug these routines the entire solution of multiple projects is deployed each time even the slightest change has been made to the VB code. Also if I want to deploy from Test to Production it is very hard. I have
to detach the databases etc, ect. Note my previous question about this subject that remained unanswered!!!
Using the Custom Data Extension the problems are a lot less. However I how do I use a routine in the CDS in T-SQL, like I could invoke a routine in the Custom Code Assemblies?
I "hate" CLR routines. I have extreme trouble managing these CLR's as I explained in my post and other posts in the past.
You just cannot build a maagable system that way.
I had to convert all the CLR's (I had a lot of them) to Custom Data Extension Functions, as they do not have all the drawbacks of CLR's.
And using the CDE with all the converted CLR's in it works much better for me in the Report Manager.
However in order to test de CDE I must invoke the CDE in a Windows Form something like this:
Private Sub cmdGetData_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cmdGetData.Click
Dim CommandText As String = ""
' Get Parameters for CDE GetData
CommandText = txtAdoCds.Text
Dim Rdr As New BstCds.BaanstedeCdsReader(CommandText)
' Invoke GetData Function of CDE Rdr
' Input: CommandText: txtAdoCds.Text = TextBox on TestForm
' Output: DataTable: RdrDataTable
Call Rdr.GetData(CommandText)
If Not Rdr.RdrRetVal Then
GoTo End_Method
End If
' Show DataTable: RdrDataTable (in Excel)
If Not BstOff.ToonTabel(DataTabel:=Rdr.RdrDataTable) Then
Exit Sub
End If
End_Method:
End Sub
'=========================================================================
' File: BaanstedeCdsReader.vb
' Summary: Provides a means of reading one or more forward-only streams
' of result sets obtained by executing a command at a data source,
' and is implemented by Baanstede Data Processing Extensions
' that access BaanstedeIw3-routines.
'=========================================================================
Public Class BaanstedeCdsReader
Implements IDataReader
#Region "Public Variables"
Public RdrRetVal As Boolean = False
Public RdrSqlSel As String = ""
Public RdrDataTable As DataTable = New DataTable
#End Region
#Region "Constructors"
#End Region
#Region "IDataReader Members"
#End Region
' GetData '
#Region "GetData Method"
'==================================================================================================
'We are executing the command using the connection string that connects to the Active Directory.
'Hard coding of the connection string is because it is the same for all the ADs.
'Once we read the data using a DataReader, we place the same in a DataTable so that can be used for
'Other processings.
' Public Sub GetData(ByVal _CommandText As String)
' Output in Public RdrDataTable As DataTable
'==================================================================================================
Public Sub GetData(ByVal _CommandText As String)
' Ophalen Data in DataTabel '
RdrRetVal = False
' Fills RdrDataTable Using _COmmandText
RdrRetVal = True
End Sub
But can I invoke Report Manager Source Type BaanstdeCds's .BaanstedeCdsReader.GetData(CommandText) in TSQL any other way then using CLR ?

Error: The report source could not be retrieved from the state object.
I have been trying to create a report in a JSF page. The relevant parts are below:
Inside the JSP page, this is the code:
<jsp:useBean id="MyBean" class="com.nm.facade.rto.POJOViewerBean" scope="session" />
<jsp:setProperty name="MyBean" property="reportLocation" value="Report1.rpt" />
<v:reportPageViewer reportSource="#{MyBean.reportSource}"
displayToolbarPrintButton="true"
printMode="ActiveX"
zoomPercentage="100"
displayToolbarExportButton="true"
displayToolbarRefreshButton="true"
viewerName="My Viewer"
></v:reportPageViewer>
In the backing bean, this is the relevant code:
public Object getReportSource() throws ReportSDKException
if (propertiesChanged || reportSource == null)
propertiesChanged = false;
if (reportLocation == null)
throw new RuntimeException("The reportLocation property must be set before a report source is retrieved");
ReportClientDocument rcd = new ReportClientDocument();
rcd.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
rcd.open(reportLocation, 0);
DatabaseController dbc = rcd.getDatabaseController();
//Create the POJO collection and populate it with data
ReportData[] data =
new ReportData("B.B.", "King", 6, new Date(25, 9, 16)),
new ReportData("Muddy", "Waters", 7, new Date(15, 4, 4)),
new ReportData("John Lee", "Hooker", 8, new Date(16, 8, 16)),
new ReportData("Otis", "Rush", 9, new Date(34, 4, 29)),
new ReportData("Buddy", "Guy", 10, new Date(36, 7, 30))
//Create the result set from the collection of POJOs
POJOResultSetFactory factory = new POJOResultSetFactory(ReportData.class);
factory.setVerbose(true);
POJOResultSet results = factory.createResultSet(data);
ResultSetMetaData metaData = results.getMetaData();
//Set the resultset as the report datasource
//Get the table name from the 'Set Datasource Location' dialog in the Crystal Reports designer
String reportTable = "getReportDataDataSource";
dbc.setDataSource(results, reportTable, reportTable);
IReportSource reportSource = rcd.getReportSource();
if (reportSource == null)
throw new RuntimeException("Unable to get a report source.");
return reportSource;
In the CRConfig.xml, this is what is there:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<CrystalReportEngine-configuration>
<reportlocation>../reports</reportlocation>
<timeout>0</timeout>
<ExternalFunctionLibraryClassNames>
<classname></classname>
</ExternalFunctionLibraryClassNames>
</CrystalReportEngine-configuration>
The report template 'Report1.rpt' is packaged under WEB-INF/reports in the war file.
When I try to generate the report by accessing the JSF page, I am getting an error: "The report source could not be retrieved from the state object. "
I am not sure what is wrong. Can someone help me in resolving this issue?

Thank you for the sympathy and the information about the Adobe.com forum Michael.
I posted here because, to be honest, for a company that's acknowledged their installers and updaters and support needs some work, they seem very determined to obfuscate the means by which users can provide direct feedback to the company. Much like you, I've also noticed a trend in CS5 installations that mirrors the issues that were present in CS4. it's a sad state of affairs.
As for my installation, you are also quite right to say that a clean install would have been a lot faster than what I went through with TS and it was actually my first idea. Before calling TS I'd actually read through the forums and noticed that a large number of users who were faced with my situation had no other choice but to reformat. I was just giving Adobe the benefit of the doubt and wasted 2 and a half weeks through that course of action...
What makes this situation even more frustrating is that the installer failed on a fresh system. It was a custom-built design machine, assembled and configured by myself. The only software that had been installed on it prior to Design Premium was Firefox, an FTP client and the start of my problems, trial versions of various CS4 programs. I used trials just long enough to retire the previous design computer so that I wouldn't contravene the EULA's stipulation of not running more than one instance of software at the same time on different machines. Turns out being honest once again penalised a legal customer.
If there is just thing users should learn from my far from unique tale of failed tech support it's that if you ever run into a problem with the installation, don't bother calling TS, just reformat and start from scratch. It might seem like it'll take longer to get going again, but in actuality, it's the opposite. Reformatting means you'll be up and running in about 1 or 2 days rather than 2 weeks.

Error Message from DWCS4: Error in line 27 of form.js.php
Hi
I did a seach of the forum for this and came up blank, so here goes although I am sure I am not alone with this one...
This week I installed CS4 and get an error reported whenever I open up an ADDT Dynamic Form:
"There is a syntax error on line 27 of form.js.php. Code hinting may not work until you fix this error."
The line in question is:
NXT_Messages['are_you_sure_move'] = '';
Anyone else seen this ?
Should I be concerned ?
Thanks.Hi Wollombi,
I´ve seen this too with DW CS4, but in fact there´s nothing to "fix" because it´s the same code which was used by ADDT 1.0.0.
I just guess that the DW CS4 parser stumbles across the nested apostrophes which don´t seem to produce PHP errors in the browser.
Should I be concerned ?
I´ve always ignored this message because the forms work when opened in a browser
Cheers,

Step 2: Clear Temp Files:
Click on your Start menu
In the 'search programs and files' box located right above Start after you click on it, type %temp% and hit enter on your keyboard
When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.
Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be used than you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item.
Close the Temp folder once it is emptied
Right click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling Bin
Step 3: Unlock System Administrator Account:
Click on your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:yes and hit enter
Next, close CMD and restart your computer
When your computer comes on log into the new Account that should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
If your computer automatically logs into your account after restart than go to your start menu click the arrow beside 'shutdown' and choose 'switch user'. Now log into the Administrator Account we just unlocked
Step 4: Install Device:
Under the Administrator Account please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer.
Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left
Once the download is complete please follow the onscreen instructions to install your printer
Once the installation is complete, please test the functions of your HP Officejet to ensure that everything is functioning properly now. If everything installs fine, log out of the Administrator Account and back into your normal User Account. All the Software and Drivers for your product should show installed now on your Account. Once you're logged into your User Account please test your HP Officejet again to verify that your print and scan functions are still working.
If everything works fine, you will want to Hide the Administrator Account.
Go to your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:no and hit enter
Next, close CMD and restart your computer
