SSRS custom pagination exception

Hello,
I am getting below errors on custom pagination for SSRS reports. I am rendering SSRS reports locally not deployed on server.
In custom pagination I have text box and next and prev link on report. when I enter page number the data loads properly in report but when i click on next link(image) I get below errors. The report works fine on google chrome, IE 9/10 but it fails in IE
11.

I want to implement an «Custom pagination for APEX 4.2 interactive report» using a «page zero».
I recently migrate from Apex 3.1 to Apex 4.2 and my «Custom pagination for APEX 3.1 interactive report» using a «page zero» is not working any more.
So now I try to adapt an excellent example of Jari Laine for 4.0 but using a page zero.
I put the code JavaScript to Page zero but I must create an dynamic action to fire only for an interactive report region.

Thought I would try once more with my DatePicker question.
On the Apex.Oracle.Com website I have created a 1 page application that has an Interactive Report.

I have 2 questions :
(1) In IE7, press 'Actions', 'Filter'. On the Column dropdown list, select 'Order Timestamp'.
Notice the prompt icon to the right of the 'expression'. This should change to the Datepicker, but in IE7 it does not. Try the samething in Firefox or Chrome and the Datepicker will appear.
Is this a BUG, or does Apex 4.02 not support IE7 ?
(2) In Firefox or Chrome, where you can now see the Datepicker, you will notice that it is the new style picker, not the old style ( called 'classic' ). I want to change it so that it shows the 'classic' datepicker not the new, but cannot see how to do it, if indeed you actually can.
I would really appreciate it if someone could take a look and let me know if I am going mad, or if we need to get all our users onto IE8. We have now gone live with Apex 4.02 and need to resolve these issues.

It has the partner function SH. So can anybody kindly tell me where is wrong in the custmer master data or somewhere else according to the following message? Or where to find the VIEW_KUAG2? What does it mean?

How to Test SSRS Custom Data Extension in TSql

Hi There,
I have created a custom data extenstion for SSRS 2008 Reporting Service.
I can test the CDE in the Report DataSet -> DataSet Properties -> Query Designer -> Run Query.
In the Command Text I pass parameters to the invoked VB code which is of type "BaanstedeCds" then name of my custom data extension.
I can even Attach the Visual Studio VB Code Project that is invoked by the Query Designer an debug the code.
The custom data extension works perfectly in SSRS.
However I have not found a way yet to run BaanstedeCds (with a parametertext) from within SSMS 2008 by using an T-SQL statement!!! Is there a way to use the SSRS Custom Data Extension in Sql Server Management Studio using the dataset type I used in
SSRS 2008?
Because I am leaving the path of using Custom Assemblies in SSMS, for deploying an testing that way is undoable for me.
I is to complicated and in order to properly debug these routines the entire solution of multiple projects is deployed each time even the slightest change has been made to the VB code. Also if I want to deploy from Test to Production it is very hard. I have
to detach the databases etc, ect. Note my previous question about this subject that remained unanswered!!!
Using the Custom Data Extension the problems are a lot less. However I how do I use a routine in the CDS in T-SQL, like I could invoke a routine in the Custom Code Assemblies?
I "hate" CLR routines. I have extreme trouble managing these CLR's as I explained in my post and other posts in the past.
You just cannot build a maagable system that way.
I had to convert all the CLR's (I had a lot of them) to Custom Data Extension Functions, as they do not have all the drawbacks of CLR's.
And using the CDE with all the converted CLR's in it works much better for me in the Report Manager.
However in order to test de CDE I must invoke the CDE in a Windows Form something like this:

How to control or manipulate a report parameter through SSRS Custom Code

Hi,
In reporting services 2005 or 2008, is it possible to control the parameters inside the custom code of a report?
for example:
Let's say I have a parameter that displays the following value:
Red
Green
Blue
In typical scenario I can select one of the values or I can select all of the values then click the View Report button in reporting services.
I know that this approach is much easier to do if I have an external application like ASP.Net and from there I'll just add report viewer and control the parameters to be passed and then generate the report.
In the report I added text box that will serve as a hyperlink to refresh report:
In the Text Box Properties\Action tab. Is it possible to control the selection of values through a custom code(SSRS Custom Code) then the report will be automatically refreshed?

Not sure about doing a multiple selection. But you can pop up an input box to get the input on the fly.
Add the below custom code and expression for the above parameter

Sorry why do you need a Data Processing Extension for that? Cant you directly call the procedure
from SSRS dataset? Whats the RDBMS which holds this procedure?

Is there anyone at all here who has successfully compiled and deployed an SSRS custom report item in VS2012? Is there a demo out there that actually works in VS2012? Is there anyone who has actually been able to compile and deploy that
apparently obsolete Polygons demo? (Pardon my impatience but I'm running a bit short of time here.)
After much hacking and googling I was able to get Polygons to compile but I still can't deploy it to the toolbox. ('The custom report item type PolygonsDesigner is not installed'). I've modified the RSReportDesigner.config
as instructed but I have no rssrvpolicy.config file on my local machine and
as yet I have no idea if that is necessary for local development.
In order to get it to compile I first added the reference C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.ReportingServices.ProcessingCore.dll to both projects.
To the PolygonsDesigner Project I also added the references:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Controls.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Microsoft.ReportingServices.Designer.11.0.dll

Just fixed this myself.
It appears the documentation online is wrong and the sample code is missing a reference to a reporting services dll and an attribute.
What you need to do to get it working in VS2012 is add a reference to: Microsoft.ReportingServices.designer.11.0.dll to the PolygonsDesigner project and then add the following attribute to the PolygonsDesigner class: [ToolboxItem(typeof(Microsoft.ReportDesigner.Shell.CRIToolboxItem))]
I also removed the [System.CLSCompliant(false)] attribute.
You then recompile and place both dlls in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies directory and the PolygonsDesigner.dll into the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
or what ever is you reporting services path.
You also need to change the Microsoft example for the rereportserver.config file to:

All,
I creating a report with custom pagination like in the below link- Jari's sample. I got the below pagination to work but when i try to replicate another above the report(so that ive both above and below pagination) it does work and isnt in synch with the below one. Can somebody help with this ...thank you in advance

I'm a novice at javascript for APEX. Maybe someone else can readily see the problem.
I tried to duplicate what you have but I got neither the top nor bottom to completely work.
I note that the go-to-beginning and go-to-end arrows work for both. The bottom's dropdown selector is just not populated.
Questions (to try to pin point the problem).
1. If you reverese the Pagination / Pagination1, #htmldbIR_x1 / #htmldbIR_x11 names then does the bottom on work?
2. If you remove the top pagination then does the bottom pagination work?

I want to make a report of a schedule showing 1 week per page.
The table I have looks something like this:
Monday 1 March 2012 12:00 PM Event1
Monday 1 March 2012 13:00 PM Event2
Monday 1 March 2012 14:00 PM Event3
Tuesday 2 March 2012 12:00 PM Event4
Wednesday 3 March 2012 08:00 AM Event5
(etc.)
Some days of the week may be missing and some weeks there may not be any data at all, in which a text like "No Events this week" should appear.
Do I need custom pagination to establish this or are there easier methods?

In my opinion you should try to avoid customizing the Process Model. It makes it easier to maintain. It's even worse when you "need" to change modelsupport2.dll. UGH!!
The current sequential model has a whole bunch of callbacks which make it really easy to get desired behavior from your client sequence file.
Here's what I use for my rule of thumb for customizing the Process Model:
- Will this modification be useful to multiple projects?
- Does this modification make it easier all around in the long run. (i.e. less support, less maintenance, less work when creating new tests, etc..)
- Is my modification strong linked to 1 client sequence file? A process model should be something that can handle pretty much any sequence file. If you customize it such that it's linked to a single sequence file then you are probably doing something wrong.
- Does this modification make sense? In all reality what am I truly gaining by this modification?
A couple instances when I've changed the process model:
- Configuration Entry Sequences to change settings for a test. This just had a simple callback in it that I always overrode with my client sequence. It just put a menu item in the user interface so users could get to it.
- A callback/Configuration Entry which allowed users to link to a document describing what the test did. Again overridden by my test. Just used for the menu item.
- Disabling/Deleting an entry point. Test UUTs and Single Pass are the default for the sequential model. I only wanted users to select one.
Sounds like a crazy project. I hope it goes well for you.

Migrating SSRS custom security from 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2012

We have built custom security in SSRS 2008 R2 and now we are migrating it to SSRS 2012. We are facing an issue, it always throws Security exception below and when we are changing
web.config file to below line we are getting "500 Internal server error". Tried everything, no luck... can someone please assist here whether we need to rewrite entire custom security code and then migrate it to SSRS 2012 custom

In your case, please running the following command to check the current URL reservations on http.sys.
netsh http show urlacl
Then, please delete the URL reservation by executing the following command try to resolve the issue.
netsh http delete urlacl <url>

Sorry why do you need a Data Processing Extension for that? Cant you directly call the procedure
from SSRS dataset? Whats the RDBMS which holds this procedure?

How to pass custom cookie from report builder application to SSRS Custom Security Extension?

We want to implement SSRS in SaaS model. We implemented Custom Security extension in order to authenticate users from other application. When user enters username/password, i would like to authenticate the user in other application and it will return some data which can be used for autherization. I am expecting the same set of data will be accessible during all autherization calls.
Currently we are implementing this in Report Builder application. I couldn't able to persist the information in cookie. Report builder removes all the cookies exceprt one cookie which is used by report server.Is there any way to share the information in all reportbuilder autherization calls in same session?

if you have your own data extension, you can using
HttpContext.Current.Application.Add("yourkey",
yourdata);
to save your data, but the issue I met it the key, I cannot find a key depended on report builder. If I use username, if the user open 2 report builder, both of them will get the same key and same data, but at this case the data should be different.

Why use customized / particular exceptions instead java.lang.Exception

Hi,
Do any of you guys know where can I find a theorical statement / explanation about why use particular / customized exceptions instead java.lang.Exception? I am aware that it consumes more resources and becomes a heavier object, as well as the clearness when coding and all that stuff; however, my boss wants to see a tech document where all this is clearly stated. Any resource over there?

It is better to throw specific--or at least module- or
package-specific--excpetions, rather than Exception,
because then the caller knows what to expect. However,
if you declare "throws Exception", the caller can
still catch IOException, SQLException, etc.,
separately. He'll just have to be a really good
guesser as to which ones he should catch.True.
Also, there's no point in declaring "throws
NullPointerException." Any method can throw it without
declaring it. If you generate your own NPE (or other
unchecked exception) inside the method, then you
should document it in the javadoc comments, but you
don't need to put it in the throws clause. It doesn't
do any harm, but it's redundant and cluttersome.It was an example and I wasn't feeling too creative....excuse me. ;-) But yeah, I've never thrown NPE ever.

What overhead is created by extending classes?Hmm, I was under the impression that a class the extended another class, inherited all of the other classes data (variables, etc.). Hence, you get something like this:
SuperClass1 + SubClass1 + SubClassOfSubcCass1 = Memory usuage for SubClassOfSubClass1.
Since adding postivie number will always end up increasing data, SubClassOfSubClass1 will use more dtat than SuperClass1.
Am I wrong?

Pinterest still blocked, even after adding to custom URL exception

Hi,
In WSA I have a custom URL list for exception which are allowed from Proxy.
I have added pinterest.com in the exceptions list. For some users website work perfectly fine via proxy, but the users which are using the global policy cannot open this website. In global policy that custom URL is allowed, even policy trace with that AD users shows that URL is allowed via custom URL list but user gets proxy error denied?
Is there something I am missing in configuration?

Hi Sakun,
the best way to troubleshoot this kind of issue is to grep/tail logs from WSA, policy trace is not always accurate. So :
- connect to your WSA via ssh and type the 'grep' command;
- at the following prompt select 'accesslogs'
- at the prompt Enter the regular expression to grep insert the ip address of a user that cannot display the website
- at the prompt Do you want this search to be case insensitive? [Y]> press enter
- at the prompt Do you want to search for non-matching lines? [N]> press enter
- at the prompt Do you want to tail the logs? [N]> type 'y' and press enter
- at the prompt Do you want to paginate the output? [N]> press enter
then from the client with ip address you inserted before try to connect to pinterest, on WSA you will see the logs, to stop log collection press CTRL+C . Post here the output of the logs.

SSRS Custom Security / Sql Server Data Tools / SQL Management Studio?

We are planning on implementing custom security for SSRS via IAuthenticationExtension and IAuthorizationExtension.
Once we switch SSRS from Windows security to our own custom security (based upon external user table in sql), how will that affect:
1. Publishing reports from SSDT for VS2013
2. Connecting / Managing SSRS from SQL Mgmt Studio

According to your description, you want to know effect when using custom Authentication and Authorization. Right?
In Reporting Services, for deploying a report from SSDT to report server, it requires the current user has permission to create reports. It's has nothing to do with the Authentication and Authorization. For managing SSRS in SSMS, it's directly accessing
the report server database. It will not call the web service, the custom Authentication and Authorization will not effect managing.
