SSRS version 8 bug?

I am trying to create a vertical bar chart. When specify the horizontal axis properties Axis Option to be Scalar (X axis is by dates), then a single bar spans over three dates.
I can working around this by making horizontal axis option to be Category. But then only the dates that has data shows up.
Is there a bug in 2008 that is fixed in 2012? Or is there something I am doing wrong?

Based on your description, you are experiencing the issue when you are creating the column chart, you choose the ”Category” in the Axis Option windows of the horizontal axis properties ,after the setting , if the values in the y-axis are null, the
x-axis labels of date related to these null y-axis values will not show, right?
I have tested on my local environment with the version of 2008 and can’t reproduce the issue. You can see details below to check and execute the Dateset query first and then check if there is filters in the report which makes the date not display,
finally do some related setting of the Horizontal Axis Properties, Typically, you want all categories to be labeled. You can set the number of intervals to 1 to show all categories.
Check the Dateset query by using an matrix to make sure the result indeed have the null values related to the not show date:
Create an Matrix, put the value of “Y-Axis” in the Column Group and drag the Date(X-Axis) to the Rows and select the Matrix Data field the same as the Chart Values(Amount).
Check if the Date which haven’t show in the chart is in the matrix’s and the related values are displayed in blank.(If there are no null values, the problem due to the query in the Dataset )
Check if you have added an filter in the report which makes some date not show.
Setting of the Horizontal Axis Properties.
In order to format time intervals correctly, please check the DateType of the field(Date) first, If your field(Date)has a data type of Date/Time, the chart will calculate intervals as dates or times. If your field(Date)has a data type of String, the chart will
not calculate intervals as dates or times. For more information of the setting, you can take reference of below steps:
If the DateType of field(Date) is DateTime, follow steps below to format the x-axis label :
Right-click the horizontal, or x-axis, of the chart, and select Horizontal Axis Properties.
In the Horizontal Axis Properties dialog box, select Number.
From the Category list, select Date. From the Type list, select a date format to apply to the x-axis labels.
Select Axis Options.
In Interval, type 1. In Interval type property, select Months.
If the DateType of field(Date) is String, follow steps below to format the x-axis label :
Right-click the category axis and click Axis Properties. The Axis Properties dialog box opens.
In Axis Options, set Interval to 1. Every category group label is displayed. If you want to show every other category group label on the x-axis, type 2.
Click OK.
Finally, If your problem still exists, please install Cumulative update package related to your SQL Server version.

Version 4 Bug - Multiple Object Editors of Same Object on Single Click

thanks for your reply. You have missed that rule because you don't use SQL Developer for development. But never mind, lets go through it...
1) Of course I have both options activated (all preferences were imported from previous version). The difference between previous version is that when you click on the SAME table multiple times - in the old version, it opened the table just once and in case you had another tab active, it swithed to the tab where the table was opened. So to have it clear, in the old version when you have table A and table B, both opened in separate tab and the focus was on table B, when you clicked on table A (in the tree) it activated tab with table A. It didn't create new tab with table A. Of course - why would I want to have multiple tabs opened with the same table??? In current version clicking on the same table multiple times, opens multiple tabs with the same table.
This is also the reason why it sometimes openes a table multiple times even when you click it just once. This you cannot simulate because you are probably connecting to some local DB when you have perfect connection. Activate the autopin function and connect to different DBs all over the world and you will see what I mean. Right now, I have opened a connection and got 3 tabs opened, just after a single click on a table.
2) Fetch size is again taken from previous version of SQL Developer and is set to 50. PgUp and PgDown are not working at all. I am talking about scrolling with a mouse wheel. In the old version it is working normally as expected. In this version if you scroll using a mouse wheel, the scroll speed is about 1 or even 0.5 lines per wheel round - so you can even not use a mouse wheel for scrolling! On all other places in this new release (connection tree, packages, ...) the scrolling is working normally, in the table it is unusable.
3) I don't say it is on every table and every click. I cannot tell you how often is it because I am not using the new version. I am quite sure this is dependent on the connection speed maybe connectin quality. The difference between previous version is that in the previous version, refresh always worked. This particular issue cannot be solved by testing and searching for some rule when it happens. You must check the code and see when you display it!
4) My screen resolution is 1920x1200, but that is only because I have an external monitor connected to my laptop. My laptop resolution is only 1366x768. Switch to this resolution and open the View menu.
New worksheet - yes, this is exactly what I mean. I have planty of connections, for sure over 100 - but this is irelevant. Whenever you do a menu which can grow, you need to do it scrollable!!!

Screen resolution, no scrolling on menus - that's a bug. Severity 2, a bad one, as you have noticed, and we'll try to make sure it's addressed for version 4.0.
The other issue isn't as straightforward as you insinuate. I know you don't care about the particulars or why you might see this issue, so I won't bore you. But, we are aware that this is still coming up more frequently that it should, and we're on a big bug hunt to eradicate the behavior completely. It's not a simple thing, so it will more likely be incremental improvements. That being said, we are seeing it MUCH less than in previous versions of the tool.

Toplink Version with Bug# 3617882 (SESSION NULL IN EXCEPTIONHANDLER)'s fix?

We're using Toplink v9.0.4.2 and are experiencing the same issue detailed in Bug# 3617882 on Metalink. According to this bug's status, it has been fixed in v9.0.4.4 (around July 2004 timeframe). I downloaded Toplink v9.0.4.5 installer from Oracle web site (http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/904topsoft.html). But jars installed with that one are exactly the same as the ones we currently have in 9.0.4.2.
Where can I find the right Toplink Version that has this bug's fix? Please reply.

I would try getting the latest 9.0.4 TopLink patchset, which is 9.0.4.8 available from Metalink under patch# 4499114 .
When you ran the TopLink 10g installer, did you run with the jars it installed? If so, what was the version number it printed off in the logs? I have checked that the toplink.jar file installed is TopLink version 9.0.4.5, so I'm not sure what you mean when you say the jars are the same.

Does the current SSRS version supports the xlsb excel file extension?

I've found answers that the SSRS doesn't support the xlsb file type but it was way back 2013:

Version 7 bugs

Are all (or most) of the bugs worked out of version 7 software? I tried it and had issues, but admit the issues may NOT have been due to version 7. Just wondered what the consensus was.

Well, If you mean to compare OS6 to OS7, that would not be a fair comparison IMHO. Just as the change from OS5 to OS6 was a major change, so too is the change to OS7. As such, while it may well fix some things from OS6, there may well be an entirely new bug list for things newly introduced in OS7. Then, there was OS7.1, which was yet another major change (though perhaps not as great as that from OS6).
Further, there are many different versions within each major OS release. One can assume that the newer the release (e.g., the higher the number in the final octet), the more bugs have been fixed. But, there is always the possibility that new bugs can be introduced along the way.
All in all, it is difficult to find any official information concerning things fixed in any version...the carriers hold responsibility for release of such ChangeLogs, and are notoriously lax at doing so!

Create an aac version problem bug

Hello ! okay so since 30 minutes I'm trying to create an Aac version of a song... I had many problems but I'v solved them. For example I didn't find ''Create aac version '' .
Now I'm clicking on ''create aac version '' but the only thing it's telling me is ''non of the selected files were conevrted because they could not be found ''
I tried going in my preferences and every thing is okay in my importing settings... it's aac.
But I still have the problem ! What am I supposed to do ?

What version of iTunes are you using and what computer OS are you using? Do you have the song selected before you try and create the AAC version?

Version control bug

JDev Team,
a) The candidates tab of pending changes window lists the "JDeveloper project" files although I have "**/*.jpr" added to global ignore list.
b) Incoming tab of pending changes window does not bring in changes checked into version control repository. I checked in a file using the previous version of JDeveloper which is not recognized by the incoming tab.
I am using subversion for my version control.

The global ignore list is used by many components within JDeveloper. The Navigator and Pending changes windows are included in that list. Any file pattern that is defined in the global ignore list will get applied to the navigator and pending changes window. The project (jpr) file is very important to the navigator so you should not define a pattern that would make the project file to be removed from the navigator. I believe that defining this pattern (**/*.jpr) will be excluded from the list. Oracle recommends that project files are version controlled. Is there a specific reason why you don't want to version control them?
The Incoming changes window lists files that have a later revision number in the subversion repository from the copy you have in your working copy (file on disk). If you checked in a file and the revision in the repository is the same as the revision in your working copy it will not be listed in the incoming changes window. If the revision in the repository is later then it may not be shown in the incoming changes window, because the window has not be refreshed. The window is automatically refreshed on a timer (15 min) or you can manually refresh it

HT5704 6.1.3 version problems/bugs

I have downloaded the 6.1.3 version and keep having problems with my phone. Every time I pick the phone up, it vibrates and turns the phone onto silent/ load. Has anyone else had this problem?

Sounds more like the mute switch is physically failing.

ITunes 9.0.2 on Windows 7 Version Check BUG!

The operating system you are running on is not supported. Only Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows codenamed Longhorn are supported.
I use Windows 7 Ultimate and can not install these windows service.
And YES... i deinstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times...

Okay ... let's start checking on possibilities related to the USB machinery and drivers on your PC.
Apple Mobile Device Support installs the iPod USB driver (usbaapl.sys) on a PC (as well as the Apple Mobile Device Service). So it can be sensitive to the state of the USB drivers and USB devices on a PC.
Do you have any non-essential USB devices plugged in to that PC? (Such as a scanner or a printer, or an external hard drive?)
If so, try unplugging those devices (leave USB mice or keyboards plugged in, though), and then doing another iTunes install.
If AMDS still doesn't install, check the manufacturers' websites to see if there are any newer versions of the firmware or drivers for any of your USB peripherals. Also head to the the drivers and downloads page of your PC's manufacturer to see if there are any updates available for your PC that are relevant to your USB ports (like BIOS upgrades or chipset driver updates). If you have any software utilities installed that can affect your PC's performance, also check with the software makers to see if any drivers associated with those software packages are up to date.
Once you're satisfied those things are up to date, try another iTunes install (with non-essential USB devices unplugged).
... if still no luck with getting AMDS to install, we'd better try a disk check. (I've seen disk damage in the wrong place on a PC do strange things to USB drivers.)
Restart the PC, and don't start any applications. (Disk checks can be unhappy if another program is using the disk they are trying to scan.) If your security software does real-time scans of your disks, disconnect from your network and or the internet, and disable your security software. Now right-click your C drive (or whichever drive your Windows 7 is installed on, and select "Properties". Click the "Tools" tab, and start the disk error checking. (It should take a little while to complete.)
If the disk check finds/repairs any damage, try another iTunes install.
If AMDS still doesn't install for you, post back and we'll start checking on other possibilities.

Where is Jalopy from the preview version?
The java code analysis seems to work much better than in the preview version! A lot of warnings help me to optimize my code. But the analysis of JSP code seems to me very strange.
Has anyone of the developement team ever tested EA1 against the webstarterapp 2 code?
This version of JDeveloper does not seem to work for me. I am waiting for the next version and go on coding with the preview.

New version fixing bugs

Hi,
We have switched from the devart oracle provider to the oracle dataaccess provider. Not all is working fine, some problems can be fixed with a temporary workaround (it's not a very big problem to wait for a new version and undo the workaround) but unfortunately not all... Can anyone give an estimation on when a new version/patch will be available? It's important to have an indication because we now have to decide to wait for it or switch back to devart.

We're still not getting anywhere. Maybe I can direct the same question to you as wrote the Distinctive Database Development article which convinced us that it was time to leave Devart dotConnect and switch over to the oracle provider.

Ok, no problem, we where already familiar with this visual studio issue when using Devart dotConnect. We've added the "StoreGeneratedPattern="Identity", create an entity, save changes and a new record is created by oracle executing:

Why is the PlantGroupId being updated? We only updated the Description field. Here it seems suspcicious that the PLANT_GROUP_ID is returned.
Another issue we raised is when we update entities with StoreGeneratedPattern=Computed is that these columns are not returned after an update (when we investigate the statement we see no returning values for the computed columns), our workaround here is to do a refresh on the entity after each update but this is not a good solution.
Now, our conclusion here is:
StoreGeneratedPattern=Identity columns update the entity properties always where they should only on insert
StoreGeneratedPattern=Computed columns never update the entity where the should always
Can you help out here?

Photoshop (all versions): Inconsistency/Bug in automatic File Naming algorithm

I discovered this problem in PS CS3 and CS5 (don't have CS4) after a student of mine found it in PS Elements 8. Here's one way to replicate the issue:
1) Open any image in Camera Raw. Let's call that file FILENAME.dng
2) Click "Save Image" button on the left
3) "Save Options" window opens
4) Under "File Naming" there are several drop-down boxes. The first box is filled in with "Document Name" as the variable. Leave that alone and move to next box to the right.
5) In this box, select the variable named "2 Digit Serial Number."
6) Now, in that SAME box right after the word "Number," click after the "r" (at the end) and enter a hyphen "-"
7) Look above the boxes and it shows you are about to rename the file "FILENAME2 Digit Serial Number-.dng"
8) The term "2 Digit Serial Number" is now part of the file name (with a hypen at the end).
This should never happen because it's mixing variables and constants. Plus, most importantly, nobody would EVER type ANY of the drop-down values as a file name. And, if someone did type in the hyphen at the end (like my student did), she obviously intended it to be a 2 digit number followed by a hypen and not the term "2 Digital Serial Number-."
There may be other places in the software that use this file naming algorithm, too. For instance, in PS Elements 8, it cn be found also found under File>Process Multiple Files.
This isn't a big issue, I know, but it should be fixed.
I am primarily looking for a response from Adobe personnel.

I did some tests and was unable to get it to work even with RAW. (perhaps it was just me) I did get it to work with multiple images being sent to "Merge to Panorama in Photoshop CS4" In all other cases, LR wants to control the naming. You end up with a file sent to PS with a LR controlled name added automatically to the LR catalog. (this is a duplicate of the orig LR file as no edits are made with this name) The file you create with your own name (when you save as from PS) needs to be imported back into the LR catalog manually later.
This is not the kind of integration we need.
We need to be able from LR to have jpg edits done in PS and named according to our needs, and re-added to the LR catalog automatically when we exit PS.
For example the following scenario:
IMG_1234.jpg is processed, cropped and tweaked in LR, then sent to PS for detailed enhancement.
Coming out of PS might be:
IMG_1234_Lucis90%
IMG_1234_Lucis50%
etc....
We need to make this work somehow....

N97 , Version 22 , Bugs

Hi,
I have encounted a interesting situation while using N97 with latest firmware V22.
While using NOKIA MAPS , if you are on phone and you click on hang Button ( Red / Green Button ) the call will not be disconnected. You will get tone or vibration as per acknowledgement of your command but nothing will happen.
You may click GREEN button but it will also do nothing.
This is quite bad as in order to hang up the call, you have to come out from the MAP Program and then have to hang up the call.
I think this need urgent attention from Nokia.

my phone was freshly arrive after Nokia Repair. Even that I did hard-reset.
The phone function with RED and Green is a bit moody. Sometime they works , and sometime does not .
Mainly when headphone is on, they do not work but soemtime they do
Yeah its great that atleast its hangs up as well when other party hangs

in both OS 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 Simplified Chinese version.
If I use the English/Traditional Chinese version, the bug doesn't exist.

Export to Excel Action in MS SSRS Report not exporting all data in Report

Hi,
I have developed a complex Report that has many expandable nodes in a table format. The report works fine.
However, when I export the Report to Excel using Actions --> export to Excel, only the data in expanded nodes is included. The data in collapsed nodes is not included.
I am looking for approach to include data in expanded nodes in Excel Export. The expanded data can be expanded in Excel.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Per my understanding you are experiencing the issue with the excel report which have add the drill down action, after export to excel only the expanded nodes included and the collapsed nodes is not shown, right?
Generally, if we expand the nodes before export to excel then the excel will display the expanded details row and keep collapsed the details row which haven't expand, but we have the toggle "+","-" on the left of the Excel to help
control the expand and collapse, when you click the "+" you can expand the collapsed notes to see the details rows.
I have tested on my local environment with different version of SSRS and can always see the "+","-" as below:
On the Top left corner you can find the "1","2", this help to control the "Collapse All" and "Expand All".
If you can't see the "+","-" in the excel, the issue can be caused by the Excel version you are currently using, and also excel have limit support of this, please provide us the Excel version information and the SSRS version. You

Please try to export other drill down report to excel and check if they work fine, if they did, the issue can be caused by the drill down action you have added in this report is not correctly, if possible, please try to redesign the report.
