ST03N - process needed for user to perform this function

Hello,
Frequently, our auditors request ST03N information that we run for them and send to them. this information includes the number of users logged on in a certain period, the transactions that theuser has executed in the certain period, the number of times a tcode was executed in a certain period. we would like to create a process where the auditors could perform this themselves.
I am looking for a way to accomplish this. I would to create a something that could call ST03N with the selction criteria by the auditors , but I am not sure if ST03N can be called in the program and pass the parameters. I am also looking at using the CDHDR and CDPOS tables to get the information.
my question is if anyone has done anything like this before and if so, what process did you use.
I am also looking for any others ideas on how to do this and if the ideas that I mentioned above would work

System processes needed for web service call

Hi experts,
one theoretical question: how about the system processes needed for a web service call? If have created a test service that does nothing except to wait for 10 seconds. When I call it from outside, no extra process is busy (as seen in trx SM50). Is it possible that one web service call (from outside -> SAP machine) does not need a DIA or BTC process on SAP machine?

Of course a web service needs a dialog workprocess to run.
But if you used the "wait" abap instruction, it may be that this instruction frees the work process ?

"You do not have the correct role to perform this function" on New Site

I have created a new site where I added fwadmin to all roles. When I login to Admin for this site I get the "You do not have the correct role to perform this function" error. I've read the manual and retired adding the user to all roles. I also looked at the Asset Types and I get "Error in evaluation;Error in configuration" when trying to enable.
Please point me to where I am going wrong, or where in the manual (and which manual) I can find help.

When you're provisioning users for sites, you have to
1) enable the app for your site
2) specify the roles that pertain to your app
3) assign a user to the site
4) assign a user roles for the site
If you miss any one of these, you can get this error. When you see "Error in Evaluation; Error in Configuration", however, especially during the out-of-the-box apps, please report a bug to support. That message is basically the XML scripting language equivalent of an uncaught exception, and it should not happen in the UI.

Permissions needed for user to define workflow variable

Hi all
im using a workflow on sharepoint designer 2007, running on list of customer orders. the workflow is trying to use data from customer list.
In the workflow i used the "define workflow variable" step on customer order list. the users who are using the order list have Contribute permission so they can add items. on the customer list they have read permission.
when an item is created, the workflow is suppose to generate the varieble by combining data from the two lists: selecting the customer from the current order item and suppose to combine it with data from the customer list for that specific customer
and keeps it in the variable.
for users with full control permission for the site, the workflow is completed ok. for the users with the contribute and read permissions it ends with an error and doesnt store the variable (i cheked it by storring the variables in the workflow history).
what are the permission needed to manage to do the action of storring the variable?
or any other ideas for the error?

Palm Desktop needs to be installed with the local administrator priviledge during the install of Palm Desktop, the HotSync Manager, the first HotSyn sync, and the installation of any third-party conduits on the desktop.
After that, the local admin rights can be revoked.

This error show up only when my application is running under Windows Azure. Everything work perfect on Windows Server 2008/IIS 7.5 with MS SQL server 2012.
What i try to do, is to change the database of the connection string at run-time.
My code use System.Data.Entity/ Entity Framework and the line of code i use is something like this using DbContext, IDbContext: this.Database.Connection.ChangeDatabase("dev_DB");
the error also say something like this:
[InvalidOperationException: This operation requires a connection to the 'master' database. Unable to create a connection to the 'master' database because the original database connection has been opened and credentials have been removed from the connection
string. Supply an unopened connection.]
I posted a ticket also to MS Azure support maybe they can do any settings to my Azure SQL version

When using SQLDatabase you cannot change an open connection string, you have to open a new one to the other database. Imagine that each database has it's own independent server. SQLDatabase is database has a service, not database server has a service.

Time Machine Backup [Update Needed] for User

So I made a time machine backup of my MacBook Pro to put on my MacBook Air, and when I did it created 2 users. One says Administrator (my normal one) and the other says [Update Needed]
However, when I log on to the [Update Needed] user, everything is the exact same. I just cant figure out what update it's referring to. When I go to system preferences > Users/Groups, only the Admin user is listed there.
Any ideas on how to fix?

even though i just erased everything, and 74.2 GB show as free.
There must be something else on the drive; if you erase it, it should have just under 80 GB free. Is there another partition?
Did you erase with a Leopard Install disc or a Snow Leopard disc? If you used a Leopard disc, that might explain showing only 74.2 GB free (it counts differently).
If so, use your +Snow Leopard+ install disc to do a complete reformat, and try to restore the backup. A Leopard disc cannot restore a Snow Leopard backup. Even the Snow Leopard disc may not work, as it's just too full and/or your system was damaged by getting too full.
All my previous backups seem to fit fine, but apparently the last time Time Machine backed up more from my disk than can fit on my disk! It seems having a hard disk close to full is enough to render a backup effectively useless.
Having an OSX drive that full will make your Mac extremely sluggish, cause data corruption and/or loss, apps to crash, etc.
Guess I'll have to restore from a previous backup, then manually copy the newer files. Just wanted to alert others to this insane problem, so it doesn't happen to them.
If you can get your Mac running, you need to make several GBs of space immediately.
If all else fails, reformat the internal HD and install OSX from your Snow Leopard Install disc, then use +Setup Assistant+ after the Welcome video to transfer +*most, but not all+* of your stuff from the backup. Omit the contents of one or more large sub-folders in a home folder (such as Photos, Music, or Movies).

Help needed for User-Defined Datatype

Hi All,
I have one table which has User-defined Column Datatype.
Now Client wants us to rename the User-Defined Datatype for some Standardization process.
How to do rename of it, coz Rename old to new doesnt work in Oracle 10.2.0.4G for TYPES.
So we re-created it with the new names. Now our Problem is how do i re-assign the column datatype with the New User-Defined DataType.

The Only Solution that i could found was - Create a new column with new User-Defined Datatype, copy the old column values to New Column, then drop the old column and rename the new Column to Old Column

Unfortunately, downloading Firefox 4 is not recommended, because the update to Firefox 5 was a security-related fix. However, you can go back to Firefox 3.6.18, just download it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

In the download box, the check box for "always do this for this type of file" is grayed out for the type of file I want, and that application does not appear in the application menu, so how do I set it to perform this function every time?

Urgent help need for user exit

i have just did one user exit but in RSA3 field is not coming. in step 1 i modified the extract structure. in step 2 in added field in include program ,saved and activated it. but field is not coming in RSA3. can anyone plese help me what should i do now or what has went wrong.

Have you created a project in CMOD and included your User exit component(RSAP0001) and activated it?.
check that. otherwise give some more details reg. your problem.

Need Help waiting for user input.

I've got a simple card game, which I've pretty much made all with swing. I have a JTextField and a JButton. I want the user to input a number into the textfield and the click the button which fires the action listener. This then takes the text and reads it and set a boolean hasBid to true. I don't want to program to continue until this has happened so I made an empty while(!hasBid) loop. The first time through, the program starts and stop until the user inputs something and click the button. The second time through, however, the whole window freezes. For somereason object aren't even being displayed which are displayed before this while loop. Without the while loop, everything runs fine, but the program won't stop to wait for input.
So, my question pretty much is how can I get the program to stop for user input in a function which will be called multiple times. I don't want to use a JOptionPane or anyother pop-up box. If my way won't work, I'd really like to know of another way. Thanks for any help!

you simply need to separate the functionality of your input object and the card game into two threads. as sanbingo said, running in a while loop prevents your GUI from even drawing its components.
Remember: AWT/Swing is an event driven interface! so only events can/should cause some action to happen.
i'd properly implement an event listener which is fired when the input is received. the listener is your game class which upon receipt of the event starts playing. when its done, its done, ie doesn't do anything until it receives an new event from your input object.

Processing Logic for custom fields to CRMD_OPPORT_H

Hi all,
I have a requirement to add two new custom fields to the Opportunity Table in CRM. I was able to successfully add these fields using EEWB and the fields are displayed in the corresponding PC-UI in the portal.
I have an additional requirement of performing a calculation based on these new added fields and updating or refreshing the "Expected Sales Vol" field in the Forecast tab on "Opportunity" Business Transaction
Can anyone provide some inputs on how we can add the processing logic for acheiving? Is this possible via the BADI? Or Do we require to modify the BSP?

I have implemented the BADI and the corresponding PCUI displays the calculated amount when i enter values in the custom fields and hit ENTER.
I just wanted to understand why we require to use function module CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN_SINGLE_OW?. In my BADI implementation i did not have to use it so additional details would be useful for me to determine if i am missing anything.
