Standard FM and Z Function FM

Hi all
This was the Scenario:
We have a Report that uses some FM for some tasks.
First Function Module is the Standard one, that sets a value to its Golbal Variable (assume myCompany present in the Global Decalration of the Function Group).
Second Fucntion Module is the Z FM that should retrive the Value which is being set by the Standard FM.
Is this possible ?
Thanks
Jack

simple, use field-symbols.
In your Z - FM use the logic below:
field-symbols: <fs> type any.
assign '(MainprogramnameoftheSAPfunction module)Variablename' into <fs>.
if sy-subrc eq 0.
*c-- you will get the value set into your <fs>.
endif.
FOR EX: Assign '(SAPFM20K)T020' to <FS>.
WHERE TO20 is variable name.
SAPMF20K is the mainprogram name of the function module.

• Standard Macro and Functional Module in HR -Programming.

Hi friends,
Could i know the difference between a standard macro and a function module in hr programming.
how do we have to use that and what are the different std macro's and functional modules used in HR-Programming...
Thanks in Advance..
Regards
Shiva

You will find the macros in table TRMAC .
Macros are set of pre defined instructions .
You can define your own macros in the program using 'definition' command or use standard macros.
you will find most of the HR function module starting with HR* or RH * .
You can get Macro definition / its fundamental difference with function module on web .

• Reg Standard programs and function modules

Hi Could you please tell how to find the list of
1.standard programs used
2.standard tcode used
3.function module used
is there any table or function module to find the above
Thanks in advance
points will be rewarded

hi,
TADIR - Tables
TSTC - transactions
TFDIR - Function modules.
If you want to search for any table ,
Suppose if you want to search for a table which stores
Country names then just
GOTO SE11 and place the cursor on 'Database table'
press F4,
Click on 'Information system'
then one window is displayed there give short description
and search .
You will get the tables list there you can fine the table which you want.
For any other if you want to find out table which stores all the domain names then click F4 on 'DOMAIN' then search.
to search function modules GOTO SE37 there press F4 then give short description and search. Ok.

• Digital Signature and workflow functionality in Enh Pack

We are working in ECC 6.0 environment. Recentaly we have activated Enh Pack 3 and 4 in our system. After that I can couple of additional QM functionality in system. SAP has provided few more settings in SPRO to activate digital signature in QN and workflow in standard peace.
I would be wonder if anyone has used those function in standard system without any custom development.
How can we use/ activate those (digital signature for QN and workflow) functionality? Reply appreciated.

SAP IMG > Quality Management> Quality Notifications> Notification processing> Specify Digital Signature
Give details like
Level -Header /Task Notification Type
Business
Transaction
Signature Type
Strategy
Enter the Business Transaction: like PMM2 for Put notification in process,PMM4 for Complete notification, QN40 for Release Task etc
Depending on your configuration systems asks for digital signature when you set header level status or Task level status
Means if u set Digital signature for PMM2 for Put notification in process system prompts for Digital siganture.

• Captivate Drag and Drop Functionality

Please could someone confirm when Captivate will ship with drag and drop functionality as standard rather than as an extension only available to subscription or ASA users?

• The function to combine pdf files and the function to add bookmarks stopped working in 10.x

We had VBA scripts in Access 2003 running with Acrobat 7.0 standard version to combine pdf files and to add bookmarks. The scripts worked fine. Now we installed 10.x and the functions stopped working. Does anyone share the same experience?
In the scripts, we just call the OLE object with the code like:
Set acroOrigPdfDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
Set acroNewPdfDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
Then we have the call "acroOrigPdfDoc.InsertPages" and "acroOrigPdfDoc.Save" to save the combined pdf files. All these functions work fine under 7.x. Under 10.x, they stopped working without any error messages.
Can anyone help me?

• Drag and drop functionality not working. IE shows ActiveX error

Hi all,
we recently installed new server, but on the new server the drag and drop functionality in web dynpro application is not working.
when we launch the standard test application wdr_test_drag_and_drop, the Internet explorer is showing a popup: An ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page. Do you want to allow this interaction? Yes/No
if we allow by clicking Yes or No, the drag/drop functionality is not working.
first I checked if the issue is with my IE version, but it is not working in any of the IE in any computer.
when I checked the same application from different ecc server on my IE, the different server application is working.
in my new server, do we need to do anything more to make the drag/drop working.
thanks,

Hi Madhu,
GO through this link, it might help
Step 1: Go to the Tools menu, and select Internet Options
There are times when the activex plugins are disabled in our browser settings, just enable them and give it a try.

• What is the difference between the normal function module and bapi function

hi,
what is the difference between the normal function module and bapi function module.

Hi
BAPI stands for Business API(Application Program Interface).
A BAPI is remotely enabled function module ie it can be invoked from remote programs like standalone JAVA programs, web interface etc..
You can make your function module remotely enabled in attributes of Function module but
A BAPI are standard SAP function modules provided by SAP for remote access. Also they are part of Businees Objest Repository(BOR).
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.

• 1.5.3, 3 possible bugs, incorrect information and patchy functionality

on windows XP SQL Dev 1.5.3
1.) From the tree structure, I filter Other Users, then open another users views folder. Click on the view that I want to see information for, and instead of the 7 columns that the view is actually composed of, it lists it's 7 columns 3 times for a total of 21 columns.
2.) When trying to edit a procedure I've noticed that there is typically a +/- sign to expand and collapse loops and begin/end structures. It seems like it's hit or miss whether or not you get this functionality to work.
3.) I issued the following select and got unexpected results
select col1, col2, col3, table1.*
from table1;
this should return col1, col2, col3, col1, col2, col3, col4, col5, etc... with the values from col1 - col3 being the same in each row, well on several rows I noticed the values didn't match.
I'm beginning to get very wary of using SQL Developer to do anything other than just query data. I'm sort of afraid to use to actually make any changes within the database for fear of incorrect DDL being issued back to the database and corrupting something.

Firstly, have you had a chance to test the problems on 1.5.4? The new release has certainly included some bug fixes.
As for your issues:
1) Which DB version are you connecting to? Do you get 7 or 21 columns listed if you just expand the view node instead of opening the view object tab?
I am on 1.5.4 (connecting to 10.2.0.3) and only get each column once when opening the view object tab for a view owned by another schema. Tracing SQL Developer it is using the following query to get the columns:
select c.column_name,
decode(data_type,'CHAR'    ,data_type||'('||c.data_length||')',
'VARCHAR' ,data_type||'('||c.data_length||')',
'VARCHAR2',data_type||'('||c.data_length||')'    ,
'NCHAR'   ,data_type||'('||c.data_length||')'    ,
'NUMBER'  ,decode(c.data_precision,null,'NUMBER', data_type||'('||c.data_precision||','||c.data_SCALE||')'),
'NVARCHAR'  ,data_type||'('||c.data_length||')'    ,
'NVARCHAR2' ,data_type||'('||c.data_length||')'    ,
data_type) data_type,
decode(nullable,'Y','Yes','No') nullable,
c.DATA_DEFAULT,
column_id,
com.comments,
c_update.insertable,
c_update.updatable,
c_update.deletable
from sys.all_tab_Columns c,
sys.all_col_comments com,
sys.all_updatable_columns c_update
where c.owner = :OBJECT_OWNER
and c.table_name = :OBJECT_NAME
and c.table_name = com.table_name
and c.owner = com.owner
and c.column_name = com.column_name
and c_update.column_name = com.column_name
and c_update.table_name = com.table_name
and c_update.owner = com.owner 2) I tried the same thing (once again on 1.5.4, but have not noticed this on 1.5.3 previously), although my package didn't have for loops, but did have standard loops and while loops. There was a very slight delay before the expand/collapse options appeared, but they appeared both times after the same short delay. With very large package bodies there can be a much more noticeable delay, but from the size of your scroll bar in your screen shots, it looks as though my test package which only had a slight delay is already longer than yours.
3) I wasn't able to reproduce this either

• Difference between Report Template "Standard (PPR)" and "Standard"?

What is the difference between Report Template "Standard (PPR)" and Report Template "Standard"? What does PPR mean and what makes it different? Why would you use PPR rather than just standard?
Thanks,
Linda

Hello,
PPR (Partial Page Refresh) is just a term used to describe some AJAX pagination and sorting functionality, it's just a holdover from before the term AJAX existed.
You can just change the template and on your report to enable that functionality. In 3.0 it will just be on off switch in your pagination options.

• Can we add the standard includes inside a function exit.

Hi,
Can we add the standard includes inside a function exit.
I want to add 4 to 5 standard includes. If iam adding it it says report or program already exists.
Can anyone tell me is it possible or we can modify the only the data which is coming to that function module .
Please help me on this.
Thanks,
Rose.

hi santhosh,
The data needed for those includes are also exist in the funtion module exit. I want to add those includes and in one include just i want to add some 10 to 15 lines of code. Is it possible.
If i include all those includes inside the function exit it says report or program name already exists. When i double clicked on the error it takes me to a line in 1 include which has function-pool statement.
How can i eradicate this error.
Can u please help me on this.

• Difference 4.7 and ECC 6.0 - standard includes and programs

Can someone provide me the list of the
standard programs and includes which have been affected in the version 4.7 and ECC 6.0
thanks.
regards,

Hi Pulla,
We use R/3 4.7 version for Travel Management (FI-TV) with fairly good features but the latest version ECC 6.0 which is Enterprise Central Component version 6.0 gives you the opportunity to use ESS/MSS ie, using portal to create the trips/claims as against interfaces.
Therefore one difference would be to get the work done easily by logging into a internet site and complete the trips/claims which in turn updates your database tables where as in 4.7 there is no such functionality to use portal to make an expense claim.
There might be other feature enhancements available in 6.0 which I am currently unaware of but surely SAP gurus in this forum will be able to provide more on that.
Hope the above provides more info.

• Value mapping, interface mapping, standard funtions and user defined functi

I like have more information abt live scenario's use of value mapping, interface mapping, standard funtions and user defined functions.
How to create user defined funtions and how to use it in XI?
thanks in advance
shiva

Hi,
Interface mappings register your mapping program for an interface pair in the Integration Repository. If you require a mapping at runtime, it is sufficient to select the interface mapping for the interface pair at configuration time .The Integration Server uses the interface mapping to identify associated mapping programs for request messages, response messages, fault messages, or all three.
Features
Executing Multiple Mapping Programs for One DirectionBy using an interface mapping you can execute multiple mapping programs consecutively for the transformation of a request or response message. In such cases, an interface mapping comprises multiple steps for which the following applies:
● The steps are executed in the sequence specified (from top to bottom). The result of the mapping program from the previous step is forwarded to the mapping program of the subsequent step.
● Each step can reference a mapping program that executes a 1:1, 1:n, n:1, or an m:n transformation. In the case of multi-mappings (1:n, n:1, or m:n), the previous step must create the same number of messages that the subsequent step expects.
● Multi-mappings use one envelope to put all messages in one structure. If one of the steps references a multi-mapping program, all subsequent steps must use the same envelope.
The mapping for a request message comprises two message mapping programs: one 1:1 transformation and one 1:n transformation. Since the latter message mapping uses the multi-mapping envelope for both the target message and the source message, the message mapping for the 1:1 transformation must also create a transformation result with a multi-mapping envelope.
You do not strictly need to divide up one direction of the whole mapping into different steps. However, this enables all the message formats in one system landscape to be mapped to a central message format, for example. This results in less mapping programs being required because you no longer need to be able to map all the different message formats to each other
Activities
1. Create a message mapping on the design maintenance screen of the Integration Builder (see also: Creating an Object).
You can also create multiple interface mappings for the same interface pair.
2. Enter the source and target interfaces that require a mapping of the request message, the response message, the fault message, or all three, in the table of the same name. The following restrictions apply:
○ If you want to use the interface mapping in a transformation step in an integration process, you must only specify abstract message interfaces. Furthermore, all objects (integration process, interface mapping, and all objects that reference the interface mapping) must be in the same software component version. If you want to reference objects from underlying software component versions, you must access the objects from the Basis Objects branch (in the navigation tree or using an input help).
○ If you want to map multiple messages to each other by using a multi-mapping, you can only specify asynchronous interfaces (for further restrictions, see: Multi-Mappings). If any message interfaces are missing, you can also create them by using the function Create New Object ().
If the interface cannot be imported or cannot be created in the Integration Repository (in the case of an external adapter, for example), you must enter the interface names manually. However, it is not possible to check the technical name in this case.
3. To import the properties of the interfaces, choose Read Interfaces. The table in the lower area displays tab pages for the request message, response message, and if available, for the fault message, for each mode of the interfaces (either synchronous or asynchronous).
4. To develop an external mapping program, export the XSD schema of the respective request or response message as a zip file after you have imported the interfaces. The zip file can contain multiple schema files that reference each other, for example in a multi-mapping. In this case, the schema with the global message element has the name MainSchema.
5. To reference a mapping program for the respective message, you have the following options:
○ Select an existing mapping program from the Integration Repository by using the input help (). If this is a message mapping, the default setting of the input help only displays those message mappings that are found using the source and target message in the Integration Repository (in multi-mappings, the first source and target messages are used as the search criteria). However, you can also display any number of message mappings, for example, because you are constructing a mapping from several mapping programs with intermediate instances which have no message types.
○ You can create message mappings directly from the interface mapping. To do this, select the mapping type Message Mapping in the Type column. Position the cursor in the Name column and choose the function Create New Message Mapping () in the Mapping Program frame. The Integration Builder copies the specifications of the messages and their occurrence directly from the interface mapping.
An interface mapping can only reference mapping programs that belong to the same or an underlying software component version of the interface mapping. This ensures that the mapping program can be shipped together with the interface mapping (see: Software Logistics).
6. If it is not a mapping for a fault message, you can execute multiple mapping programs in succession for request and response messages:
○ To insert an additional line for a mapping program, choose .
○ To delete the registration for a mapping program, choose .
At runtime, the mapping programs are executed from top to bottom.
7. Save the interface mapping.

• Template: 13. Standard (PPR) and column sorting

When I use the template "template: 13. Standard (PPR)" and have column sorting setup for that region, I get the following script error when accessing my app and try to sort on a column.
missing ) after argument list
html_PPR_Report_Page(this,'R142222838802...3829',false,false,false,'fsp_sort_7')');
Have other seen this error too? The work around for me is to not use the PPR template.
Regards,
Todd

Hello,
PPR (Partial Page Refresh) is just a term used to describe some AJAX pagination and sorting functionality, it's just a holdover from before the term AJAX existed.
You can just change the template and on your report to enable that functionality. In 3.0 it will just be on off switch in your pagination options.
