Start Event Triggers

In BPMN 1.1 specification, there are 6 Start Event Types.
I can Timer in BPM 10g studio.
Does Message Wait and Send Message in BPM 10g implement Message trigger at BPMN 1.1?

It's a valid point. In Oracle BPM 10g, you can achieve the effect of the 6 BPMN start events, but the icons representing the most of the start events did not all show up in the process modeling tool until 11g.
Plain - this event is the default Begin activity in the Oracle BPM 10g process. While BPMN 1.1 specifies that the first activity can be one of the 6 listed here, Oracle BPM 10g always uses the Plain start event in its model.
Message - I know this is non-intuitive, but process instances can be created in a variety of different ways (e.g. PAPI, a subprocess flow invoking it, a Global Creation, logic from inside an activity, etc.). As it gets created you have a choice to use the default set of input arguments - this is the "BeginIn" mapping. Alternatively, you can create any number of other mappings with different sets of input argument variables. If you use an argument mapping other than the default "BeginIn", then you can right mouse click the Begin activity and click "Add a Message Based Transition". This creates a BPMN message transition. In Oracle BPM 10g you will see that the process still has a Plain start event, but in this scenario you will see a Message transition coming out of the Begin. It's functionally working the same, but modelled differently than what you might expect to see.
Timer - this is one where the functionality is suppported but the icons do not show up in the process. You can create a timer start event by using a Global Automatic activity and setting it to create instances at specific times or intervals. Visually, you will see a Plain start event in the process, but you will also see a Global Automatic activity separate from the process. The Global Automatic controls the timer and is separate from the Begin activity. It's functionally working the same, but modelled differently than what you might expect to see.
Conditional - this is supported somewhat from both modeling and execution. Again there is not Conditional start trigger. There is still a Plain start event, but you achieve the same result by adding a conditional transition and have it leave the Begin activity in the process. it's functionally working the same, but modelled differently than what you might expect to see.
Signal - this is supported from inside the process, but the start event is handled by the Plain start event.
Multiple - this too is supported from inside the process, but the start event for Multiple is also caught by the Plain start event.

    hi gurus
1 ) can i able to see the event triggering by abap class in SWEL ?  ,
    2) in custom  ISR scenario , new form scenario has been created by our functional consultant , and asking me to trigger a workflow for approval ,  when employee fills that particular ISR FORM , workflow should start and to go his HR administrator , when HR administrator double click on workitem he should get the ISR form in display mode  & also with some descpition text  is to be added in the screen (like user decision description ) with approval button ..... my question is how to trigger a event from in form scenario ? , how to bring the FORM screen to display mode  to the HR administrator ?

    Hi Surya
The BO for ISR forms is BUS7051 - Notification. Turn on the trace via SWELS and create a PCR/ISR form and you should see the events being triggered in SWEL.

  • Synchronous start event for a BPM process??

    Hi,
If I trigger a BPM Process from say a BSP Application(Shld be able to do this as all I need is a Service Interface (Start Event) related to the BPM), If for some reason the process fails to start -- Is there a way of  having a response that would let the triggering application know that the BPM process instantiation has failed...
What I am trying to understand is :
1)would the Service Interface for the BPM start Event, provide a response ?...??
2)Is it possible to have some kind of logic implementation for this Service Interface(that starts a BPM Process) ??
Eventhough there was a similar message in the forum, I wanted to have a clear picture ....
A detailed reply would be highly appreciated ..Thanks !
    Best Regards,
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
I guess you need to distinguish 2 to 3 cases here:
In case you used a snychronous call in the service interface definition assigned to the process start event it will result in a SOAP fault, which says that the process started successfully. Reason for that is explained here: Starting a BPM Process - Where is the Service?
Problems within your process would also not be reflected in the SOAP message (e.g. if there is some issue within the first step after the process has been started). I guess that is somehow obvious as the process has been started after all, but I wanted to state it anyways.
Finally and that's possibly the most important point for you: If there are any problems during the instantiation and in the end no process has been started then this should be reflected in the SOAP result. If not I would consider it as an issue in the implementation and would like to ask you to open a ticket for it on http://service.sap.com/message

  • Event triggering

    Hi guys,
I created events in sm64. These events should start a process chain. However when I trigger them manually I do not get the event in the event history nor does my process chain start. Do I have to activate any other stuff for events?
    Thanks in advance.
    Stefan

    Hi,
You need to assign the EVENT which you have created at the definition of the
Job scheduling for the process chain. you'll find the 'Event' assignment during
creating of the job..so, when ever your event triggers you job would get processed
which is in turn attached to your proces chain/info package.
    Hope this helps..
    assign points if useful..

  • Start events via change documents (BUS2009)

    Hi All,
I'm currently working on ECC 6.0 and need help for starting events via change documents.
I want to restart a workflow whenever a cost centre in the PR is changed. So I have created an entry in SWEC with Change doc. object as BANF  and triggering event as On Change.
In the field restriction I have entered EBKN-KOSTL. I want trigger two events SIGNIFICANTLYCHANGED to end previously started workflow and RELEASESTEPCREATED to start the new workflow.
But whenever these events are triggered the new workflow starts with an error status and the old one remains as it is. The error for new workflow seems like there is no binding between triggered event object and started workflow.
    Please suggest. m i missing something ?
    Thanks,
    Shounak

It's the same old bug. I think you have already configured the release strategy which triggers all the necessary events, now when you make entries in SWEC, this also triggers the event and the overlapping takes place resulting in the error you are getting. Either you remove the release strategy or the entries in SWEC. Further make sure you have terminating event "Changed" or "SignificantlyChanged" in the approval task based on your requirement.
For the conditions, you can either control using start conditions or using the release strategy Characteristic FRG_EBAN_KOSTL if you want to stick to release settings.

  • Event triggers from HANA to sharepoint

    Hi All,
Is it possible to create a trigger in HANA that on creation of a new row in a particular table, creates an event that goes to a sharepoint portal  and triggers a mail and a push notification to MS BI mobile users?
Please let me know how that would work.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I have the same req, we did like below the problem is resolved.
    1. Craete Event in SM62 in BW , Event name = ECCTOBW.
    2. Assign that Event in BW and give Parameter name = ECCTOBW_P. (Param is directly give in BW)
(In Case of dataloads, create Process chain and give thios Event and Parameter in Start-->Event) and Activate and Exexute the Processc Chain.
    3. Then Run the below program in ECC then check your processc hain, it will trigger.
This is the way how to use the Events triggers in different system.
    REPORT  ytestrd1tobd1.
    CALL FUNCTION 'RSSM_EVENT_RAISE'

  • Events Triggered

    hi
guys i am not understand why the out put is 1,2,99.
    please explain me
Events Triggered in the Order Dictated by the Driver Program
    1  report ztx1702.
    2  data f1 type i value 1.
    3
    4  end-of-selection.
    5    write: / '3.  f1 =', f1.
    6
    7  start-of-selection.
    8    write: / '2.  f1 =', f1.
    9    f1 = 99.
    10
    11 initialization.
    12   write: / '1.  f1 =', f1.
    13   add 1 to f1.
    output:
    1.  f1 =          1
    2.  f1 =          2
    3.  f1 =         99
    thanks

    Hi Sanjeev,
Order of events triggered in ABAP programming is..
    •     INITIALIZATION
    •     AT SELECTION-SCREEN
    •     AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON <field>
    •     START-OF-SELECTION
    •     TOP-OF-PAGE
    •     END-OF-PAGE
    •     END-OF-SELECTION
ABAP program will be executed in the above event order, with out depending on the order you write.
Your program execution will be like this..
    1) It declares the f1 as the integer type value and initializes 1 to it.
    2) It directly goes to the Intialization part and there you are printing f1 value which is 1.
So there the output will be 1.f1 = 1.
At step 13 It will add 1 to f1. so here your f1 value is 2.
    3) It then goes to the Start-of-selection event.
Here you are again printing f1 value which is 2.
after printing f1 value you are assigning 99 to f1 so your f1 now becomes to 99.
    4) It goes to End-of-selection part and again you are printing f1 value which is 99.
So your report output willbe like this..
    1.f1 = 1.
    2.f1 = 2.
    3.f1 = 99.
    Thanks,
    Sreekanth.

  • Chapter 6 Event-triggered campaigns

    From William...
Chapter 6 Event-triggered campaigns is an exercise in the CCMO training where we send an email to Recipients who recently converted from Prospects to Clients, detected by a change in their status.
Possibly the simplest way of accomplishing this is with the Incremental Query activity. However, to prevent pulling Recipients who are Clients already at the start of the campaign, the Incremental Query needs to be run twice, the first time to set the history.
    According to the documentation
    https://support.neolane.net/doc/AC6.1/en/WKF_Repository_of_activities_Targeting_activities .html#Incremental_query
"The population already targeted is stored in the memory by workflow instance and by activity... two tasks [executions of a workflow step] based on the same Incremental Query for the same workflow instance will use the same log."
In other words, two runs of an Incremental Query activity in a workflow share the same history log. For the first run of the Incremental Query activity, uncheck the 'Plan execution' option and transition into an End activity. This will set the history log to current Clients. For the 2nd run of the Incremental Query activity, check the 'Plan execution' option and transition into the Delivery.
The 2nd (and subsequent) runs of the Incremental Query activity will pick up only new conversions from Prospect to Client.

  • Multiple Events & Triggering of Workflow

    Dear All,
    I have a requirement in which -
    1) A workflow should trigger on two events i.e. 2 different tcodes, it is possible for a single workflow triggering from 2 events ?? if yes, kindly explain.
    2) The workflow should trigger on a particular date given in the tcode, like order completion date i.e. i should program the workflow for advance. How ??
    3) There is a requirement of sending mails to the respective persons in the organisation, these email-ids are stored in a z-table, how to achieve this ?
Any assistance provided to clarify the above issues will be really grateful.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh Chauhan.

    Hello,
1.You can trigger a workflow from two different events. In the triggering events tab of the workflow template, just specify the other triggering event as a new entry in the second line. Take care of the binding. If the events are from two different business objects, then you need to create two different workflow containers and bind them accordingly in the Event - > Workflow binding.
2.In workflow you have conept called the start condition. If the condition is satisfied, then only the workflow will advance. What you have to do is in the business object that you use in designing the workflow, create an attribute which retrieves the date. In the screen of workflow builder, go to the basic data(ctrl+F8)...instance independent and the tab ....start events....select the event for which the condition is to be designed...click on the box beside the binding. it will show you the condition creator...compare the attribute that you have created with the required value.
3.You can get the values in two ways...one to create an attribute and get the values from the ZTABLE, then use the same in the SENDMAIL step of the workflow. The second one would be create a mehod in which the coding to get the users from the table is executed and the list of users are exported from the method to the workflow template. You have the facility to create an element fo multiline. Use it.
    Hope this will help.

  • Data Change event triggering Process hangs in Process chain

    HI Folks,
In a daily running Process chain we have a Data Change event triggering Process , to trigger broadcasting  settings

    Hi sonal,
I would suggest you to uninstall all the components and start all new again, n please make sure you have the following order :-
    1) install GUI 710 along with BEx 7.0 and 3.x complete.
    2) install BW AddOn (bw350gui710_8-10004473.exe latest one from Service market Place).
    3) Install BI AddOn (bi710sp11_1100-10004472.exe latest one from Service market Place).
    4) Install SAP precalc server (xPreCalServer10_1-10004472.exe, latest one from Service market Place).
In service market place you can get the components from Downloads ->Support Packages and Patches -> Entry by Application Group -> "SAP Frontend Components"
Also, plz make sure that you restart your Server OS after each and every installation.
    This would solve your problem.

  • How to find Event Triggering place in SAP.

    Hello,
By looking at a developed Workflow. How do we find out the triggering point code written in SAP transaction. Is there something like WHERE USED LIST to find out the locatoin of Event triggering point?
    Please assist.
    Thanks,
    JM

The other possibility(I Think) is that if the workflow is started by using a raising a event then I think you cna find the respective program name in the SWEL txn, by selecting the respective event name and BOR .
    1. Execute txn SWEL.
    2. Specify the create date and time and then Execute (F8).
    3. Select the BOR and event name and click display.
    4. On the new ascreen at the bottom you can find the program name, copy the program name and then navigate to Se38 txn and open the mainprogram  in display mode and try to search the program by using the keyword EVENT.
It will display the point and location from where the event is raised...

  • Network Setting/Event triggered actions

Is there any way to set up network setting/event triggered system actions on the iPhone?
Let's say as soon as I get disconnected from wireless network "OfficeXXX" automatically initiate VPN connection?
There is no sense in Push mail for Exchange via VPN is you have to constantly manually start VPN (every time you change network while wondering in the city 3GPublic Wi fi VPN drops).
Then without this event triggering whole Exchange Push VPN marketing thing is worthless because you have to manually start VPN all the time.
    Anybody found workarounds?
Anybody can write an app to do these things? I would pay $100 for that app at no time.

I have the same issue. WindowsMobile did this with a simple host entry. There is no workaround, and somewhere I saw a post from Apple saying that the VPN has to be manually initiated.

  • How to disable the "turn page" event triggered by the scroll/swipe function?

    The problem is as follows.
The default behaviour of Acrobat Reader (both stand alone and browser plug-in) is to allow scrolling/swiping with the mouse wheel/trackpad. This is useful when the pdf's page length is greater than the screen's own length, because you can read the pdf with no need to distract your attention from the text to the scrollbar button. However, the same scroll/swipe function turns into a usability problem when the pdf is embedded in a html page and the pdf's page length is smaller than the browser's length. In this case, the scroll/swipe turns the page, distracting your attention from the text to the unintended behaviour of the browser. What happens is that you are so used to scrolling/swiping that you did it unintentionally in the pdf's caption area. You really did not want to turn pages in the pdf. Furthermore, if the pdf takes the whole html page, being a website, the scroll/swipe function flips the website pages in ways that neither the reader nor the writer had ever intended. Hence the question. How to disable, in this case, the "turn page" event triggered by the scroll/swipe function? A JavaScript should do, but the SDK documents did not help so far...

I also added one event "old_material_changed"  in the subtype and changed the status on both the subtype and delegted obj to "implemented".
when i am trying to use this delegated obj in the "start event" tab of a WF ...the new event "old_material_changed" is not appearing...

    HI,
Please maintain the delegation with the subtype ( Y00Mara)  and supertype ( BUS1001 ) by using transaction SWE_SET_DELEGATION. Now run the above transaction.
    Click on new entres.
    Enter the follwoing values...
