Start new session automatically after the current one is expired

Hi Guys,
My application should be displayed on the screen 24/7 . The information there is being refreshed every 5 minutes. When the APEX session is expired the refresh stops working and the page has to be reloaded.
I'm looking for the solution that would allow to keep the application always on and to start new session automatically without a human being involved.

Being impatient, I've already found a solution. I created a JavaScript function the reloads the page. Instead of current session ID in the url I use 1. In this case apex generates the new session.
The Timer Plug-in runs the function every X minutes.
The function code is the following:

How to enable remote debugging for a session other than the current one

Hi all,
I am trying to figure out how to enable remote debugging for a session other than the one I am currently using.
More specifically, we have an application that is making database calls to Oracle 11gR2. Something is causing an exception during this invocation. My system is currently not set up to recompile said application, so I can't just add the debug call to the code and recompile. Therefore I would like to be able to log into the database (as sys, if necessary) and invoke dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp on the desired session.
The docs indicate that I should be able to do so:

I've tried granting the 'BECOME USER' privilege for the relevant users, but that didn't help. I read something about having to set some kind of ACL as of 11gR1, but the reference documentation was very confusing.
Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? Is this even possible, or did I misread the documentation?

Interesting deduction, that would be very useful indeed. I hate recompiling just to add the debug call, and it can't be done in our production environment. But it seems unlikely to me it would be implemented this way.
I would cross-post this in the SQL AND PL/SQL forum though, as this is really a database issue, not with the SQL Developer tool. Do add the links to the other posts in each.

How to redirect a page to a new window instead of the current one

Can someone please tell me how to redirect a page to new window.
I mean I am running a JSP with a button and on clicking it i am opening a new window (thru javascript offcourse),
Now response.sendirect("New.jsp") should be opened in that new window opened.
I tried it but the New.jsp page is opened in the current page (Even though new window is opened ! ).
Please help.

Defining and using new listener insted of the current one

my database suddenly become not working and when i open oracle EM i found it down because of the listener is down and i foun the port number is 1521 while my creation of the data base the port that i used was 1525,so, How can I manually create a listener and then switch the current default listener to this newly created listener?

Can i Open a new page behind the current one in the browser?

Using Safari, if I press a link to 'open in new page' is there a way to have the new page open behind the current one? I can choose it on my laptop browser(windows). It's really annoying when I choose 'open in new page' and the current one is whisked away, then I have to minimise it and go back to the original.

There are other browsers available that have the tabs feature which is so much handier when navigating from page to page like you want to do.
Look at iCab (my favorite), Mercury and Atomic. All three have many more features than Safari has.

Accidentally pushed "start new session" after crash. Tabs are gone from history.

After one of the ten crashes per day since I upgraded, I accidentally pushed, "Start New Session" instead of "restore". So, my '''closed window/tab records were wiped out''', and in my history, it only has those tabs that I opened anew this morning - NOT the ones I had saved so I could look at them later. A lot of these I had not bookmarked yet.

If you haven't closed Firefox then see if you still can restore that session via Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session.

Can I retrieve a crashed session after accidentally clicking "Start new Session"

After getting the "Embarassing" dialogue, I accidentally clicked "Start new Session" instead of restore. Is there a way to access the cache and restore those tabs and windows? I'm running Windows and have not shut down my machine since the loss.

First, find your profile folder [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles?s=Profile&as=s#How_to_find_your_profile by reading this]
Then, copy the files sessionstore.bak and sessionstore.js to another folder such as your desktop.
Close your Firefox and copy the sessionstore.js to the profile folder, and restart Firefox. See if your session was restored.
If not, close firefox, proceed to copy the second file (the .bak one) to the profile folder, and rename it to sessionstore.js , overwriting the other file. Restart Firefox.
If not any of these two files has your session saved, sorry.

After the currently active tab is closed, can the previously acitve tab be automatically displayed?

After the currently active tab is closed, I don't want to see the tab on its right or on its left. I want to see the tab that was active before the closed one, whatever its position is on the tab strip.
Can that be achieved?

My trackball has 4 buttons and a scroll wheel. Each of the 4 buttons is programmable. The 4 buttons are normally pre-programmed for single-click, double-click, drag and right-click by simply pressing on them
Each of the 4 buttons may be programmed to also have other functions. For example, I programmed "control/single-click" to produce a middle click. I could also have used "shift/single-click" or "alt/single-click" to produce the middle-click. Or I could have similarly programmed double-click or drag or right-click. The Kensington Expert Mouse is quite versatile ... once you get the hang of programming it.
I have had it for about 4 years and I had never had the need to program one of them until you told me about using a middle-click.

You could try going to ''History > Restore Previous Session''. It might not work, but it's worth a try!

Yes.
It's always useful to keep a backup copy as well in case things go wrong.
It's much quicker than having to download again.
You can keep it on hard drives, memory sticks or cards, DVDs etc.

If such an upgrade were possible, it probably would be more money than it would be worth.
If you're running a G4 (dual-processor even) you can pick up a used Mac mini (intel that is, and something from 2010 or newer would be the best bet) that will be screaming fast compared to a G4.
Once upon a time, processor upgrades were not only possible, but a good deal, and a relatively inexpensive way to get more life out of your Mac. I upgraded a G3 tower to a G4 for few hundred dollars, and I was glad I went that route at the time. Finally, CPU upgrades, at least as far as I know, aren't available anymore.

Office 365 AAD Password Writeback not working; Event Viewer Error: 0x80230619 (A restriction prevents the password from being changed to the current one specified.)

I'm currently setting up a Proof Of Concept setup with directory synchronisation and password syncing to Office 365, leveraging AAD Premium for the password reset and password writeback to on premises
AD functionality. Directory Sync + Password Sync is working flawlessly with the AADSync tool. However, upon requesting a password reset for a user, I'm hitting a password writeback error. The webpage states that the password does not meet the password
complexity policy, while it does. I can set that particular password for that account at the on premises AD without any problem.
In the event viewer at the AADSync server, I'm seeing this Error pop up whenever I try to reset the password:
An unexpected error has occurred during a password set operation. "BAIL: MMS(4032): ..\server.cpp(11003): 0x80230619 (A restriction prevents the password from being changed
to the current one specified.) Azure AD Sync 1.0.0475.1202"
My Setup:
Windows Server 2012 AD with a single forest
Seperate domain joined Windows Server 2012 for AADSync tool
AADSync version 1.0.0475.1202 with options password sync, password writeback enabled
Service account for AADSync tool with Replicating Directory Changes and Replicating Directory Changes All permissions
on root AD forest structure with inheritance to all objects. This account also has the permissions to Change Password and Reset Password on all descendant
User Objects.
AAD Premium for my office 365 tenant
AAD Premium licenses for the test users and the office 365 account used to sync to Office 365. This account is also Global Admin.
Could anyone help me with this? Is there something I’m missing here? My guess is that the AAD is not trusted or the service account for AADSync tool does not have the proper permissions. I’ve tried
many options, like setting the AADSync Service account to Enterprise Admin or granting the service account Full Control over that particular user.

Concerning my issue:
The Default Group Policy setting: Minimum Password Age is set at 1 day. As I was testing this feature with new users, their provisioned passwords were less than 24 hours old and the Minimum Password Age of 1 prevented the change of the password.
After changing this to 0 days in the Default Group Policy, my password resets started working for newly created users. While this might not have affected existing users in production, it had me looking and searching for permission issues on my AD.
So for those that might be experiencing ADSync Event ID 6329 and PasswordResetService Event ID 33008 Errors when trying to do a Password Reset using AAD Premium with Password Writeback, it might be helpful to check the applied password policy.
The issue is solved.

In a new session of firefox, the initial download of a file is slow

In a new session of firefox, the first file downloaded on that session is slow to start. Almost like a pause before it bring up the where to save window. I have the "please ask me where to save" selected. Every subsequent download after the initial download, firefox brings up the where to save window quickly. Firefox 3.6.3.

The most likely reason for this to take a long time is that the default location is taking a long time to resolve, as can happen if it's a network location or if the default folder doesn't exist.
To reset the download location, reset '''browser.download.dir''' in the advanced configuration interface:
