Start up Image (.jpeg) for a .flv

Is there a way to have a nice start up image (.jpeg)  showing instead of the 1st frame of a .flv without creating a .swf . in Flash.
Looking to create it using html code- is this possible???

You shouldn't need to create another swf file.  You should be able to set the poster frame in Flash for a Flash Video.  Here's a good tutorial on it:

I have just started to use Muse for our design agency and learning how to build ourselves a new site, I have managed to create a basic lightbox which contains sliding images, what I need to do now is have a pop up window which goes into detail about the projects, what I would like is a piece of text  or icon that when you roll over it and then click a separate window pops up with additional information in, once finished reading the info you can then click to close the box, any advice on how to do this?

The best way to do what you're asking is with the Composition widget. Start with the Tooltip preset, which, by default shows the info on rollover. You can change the option to show on click, which is what you're after. You can also add the close button or have the info disappear on rollout.

  • Start up image for application

How can I take an image and use it as a start up image for an application, just like in Microsoft office for Mac. Is it hard to do?

There isn't really a concept of a 'start up image' (more commonly called a 'splash screen') in Cocoa. When you see it implemented in things like Office and Photoshop, it is really there to cover the fact that the application takes a long time to launch. The splash screen can get thrown up early in the process so the user has some feedback that the application is actually loading.
If you want to implement it you could simply put an NSImageView in a borderless window set the imageView's content to your image. However, I think that the earliest point you would be able to display the window would be when your application delegate gets the applicationDidFinishLaunching call. Unless your application takes a considerable amount of time initializing after this point, the amount of time between showing the window and your application being ready to use would most likely not be long enough for the user to take in whatever information it is you are showing in the image. You would then have to use an NSTimer to remove the window at some point after launch.

  • Capture images (JPEG) from IP-Camera

    Hey there!
I have been trying to capture images from an IP-Camera. I understand that this has to be done by using a custom DataSource and I have tried many many example found here on the net, but with no results.
I think I've tried every piece of code found here at this forum regarding this subject.. :/
The best I could do was not getting an error while creating a custom DataSource from a BufferedStream..but the when I try to configure/realize the Processor - created with Manager.createProcessor(customdatasource) - it gives me an error which, I think, has something to do with unrecognized content..
I could post all the examples I tried but I think it would be too much of a confusion so...does anyone have a full working example of code to achieve this? WITH the frame grabber class? plizzzzzzzzz?
    Thanks,
    Edd

I felt Captfoss' solution was inspired and so gave it a go. The following builds a video from an ip cam jpg stream using a version of Sun's JpegImagesToMovie.java. It is hacked together quickly and with scope for improvement, but it works, proves the idea, and is a good example.
    Run as:- java JpegImagesToMovie -w 320 -h 240 -f 30 -o file:test.avi

  • Safari shows "The network connection was lost" for all flv files on the internet.  Firefox plays all

I upgraded to the lastest version of Flash to fix what I thought was a problem in Firefox.  That problem turned out to be something else but now Safari will not play ANY flash content.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times.  I have even installed an older version.  All of these have the exact same result.  Flash works in Firefox but not in Safari.  I have cleared the cache.  I have gone into the flash securty settings and deleted all content.  Nothing seems to change this.  Anyone have any ideas?

Plug-Ins are installedand keep in mindthis problem affects all 3 browsers i am using IE9, Safari5 & Firefox 19NOT a SPECIFIC browser issuewhich is why i think it's either "Flash" (Adobe) or streaming web-site (Freedocast) issue.

  • How do I change the image selected for the finalized movies pane in all events?

How do I change the image selected for the finalized movies pane in all events? I made a movie some time ago in iMovie, and a still from this now appears as the image for Finalized Movies in the All Events pane (as well as showing up if I then click on this pane to take me to Finalized Movies). Anyone know how to change or delete this image, please?

Unfortunately, the suggested solution in that thread does not work and the thread appears to be closed to replies.  That is, even though I am logged in the Reply|Quote|Mark as answer|Report as abuse items are missing.
    The suggested solution is:
    First, I found I had "img100.png" in  C:\Windows\Web\Screen  and
    C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft-windows-themeui-client_31bf3856ad364e35_6.2.9200.16384_none_69ee3fa2269e545e
    1. Belonging to the Administrators Group, I replaced file Owner TrustedInstaller with my Username on both "img100.png" files
    2. After resizing the image I wanted to see on the Login screen to the resolution of "img100.png" file,
I copied and pasted it to both "img100.png" files keeping this way the format (extension) and resolution of the original "img100.png" file,
    which I permanently deleted.
However, I have not been able to replace the img100.pgn in C:\Windows\Web\Screen even after taking ownership of it and setting the permissions for my userid to All.  I edit it with mspaint and then try to save it. The save starts that then says the
    save was interrupted.
The appears to be some additional protection besides the standard acls.

  • Best way to start a new catalog for 2009 ?

    Hi,
What's the best way to start a new catalog for the new year, with all the keywords and all the presets of the modules (without having to export all the folders) of previous catalog 2008 ?
    Thanks,
    Dominique

Well there is a cost too in not being able to find all your images in a single step, and inconsistencies soon develop - eg a keyword is plural in one catalogue, singular in another. Speed or stability issues are not simply related to catalogue size, and I've seen decently-performing catalogues 50% bigger than yours (as well as slow ones of a few hundred images). Have you optimized the catalogue recently?
But if you think it's a good idea to fragment control of your picture collection.... Presets will be carried over to a new catalogue as they belong to the machine (unless you have the save with catalogue preference turned on). Keywords can be moved via the Metadata > Export and Import Keywords command. If you have lots of collections and smart collections, then maybe make a copy of your existing catalogue and then remove all the items from it - making sure you don't trash them of course.

  • Image List For Button Edit Type Field

By reading the document in Sybook i came to know there is one button edit type. In that it says "An image can be defined for display in place of one of the available button controls. In this situation, the image referenced can be an image list, with each image in the list being a square and the same size".
Image list i want to use because i want to show two different image one for the normal and one for the selected.
By reading this line i came to know that there is image list but i don't know how to assign. In the button column there column for action where we can assign the action, after that there is another column for image there i can assign one one image. I don't know how to assign image list.
Please help me in this regard.

    Amitoj,
What platform are you developing for?  I believe you are trying to add dynamic images to a push button on a detail screen?  The Button control on a detail screen has a Button tab.  On the button tab, there is a button image property.  Create a rule here rather than picking a static image.  In the rule, set up your logic any way you require, always returning an image name to be used.  So you could do something like this:
    IF
         EQSTR
              MyObject -> Status Property
              Started
    START (image)
    DEFAULT (image)
The above rule says that if the current object's status property is "Started", use the START image, otherwise use the DEFAULT image.  These image names must be defined as images in your application.
The rule will run and the correct image will be displayed on the button.  Image Lists were used initially on Windows clients to add dynamic images to list rows (not buttons), but this technique is not really used anymore.

  • Imaging solution for EBS: Best practice guide for server setup

    Hi,
We have to implement Imaging solution for EBS using AXF adapter. For this, customer is going to procure and implement SOA and WebCenter Content from scratch.

  • Iphoto photo import - best image type for max resolution (jpg vs tiff)

What is the recommended image type for maximum resolution of photos brought into iphoto albums, since I will be enlarging them? (ie assuming everything brought into iphoto is set/reduced to a standard resolution, then jpg might allow more digital data for later enlargement; on the other hand tiff is often recommended for best resolution though it requires more space). Thanks, - D

Thanks, Terence - OK, lets assume I shoot a 5-meg photo of a painting and adjust the paralax etc in photoshop so it is perfectly set inside the rectangular format. Now I want to import it into iphoto, knowing that I will use the crop tool to make two blow-up enlargements to go along with the original full-size image... total 3 related images of the artwork. As you mentioned these will eventually go into iweb as part of a series inside an album, with a hyperlink connecting the two enlargements to the full-size image... so viewers can tap to see finer detail and then go back to the overall composition. My question is, for the original photo image of the painting should I drag a 10-meg tiff into iphoto or a 2-meg jpg? (I do not know what importing the image into iphoto does to the original in terms of final image resolution and data size... Will a 2-meg jpg provide sufficient data to work with and enlarge via the cropping, or would the 10-meg tiff be better as a starting point? Or, if everything gets translated into a certain pre-ordained size anyway, would the tiff get watered down to, say, a 2-meg-size image anyway?) Thanks, - D

  • Unable to set action of opening image/jpeg in Firefox

I just want to open and view a jpg link in a firefox tab, but it instantly ask me if I want to save it or open it by other application. Fine. I go to Options - Applications to change the action of handling jpg. There are 2 kinds of jpeg, one is "JPEG Image (image/jpeg) and the other "JPEG Image (text/html). I can change the action of "text/html" to use Firefox as the default action, but for "image/jpeg", no matter how many times I tried, it just doesn't allow me to choose Firefox but other actions or applications. Precisely, I can choose Firefox in the "Select Helper Application", but after I clicked "OK", it reverted to the old action. I tried to restart Firefox and tried again, but no good at all. It frustrates me so bad.

Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

Note that the extension will allow to open this image file in a Firefox tab as that is the purpose of this extension.

  • Image created for external editor is very large

I am new to Aperture. I want to send my adjusted photo to my external editor (Photoshop Elements), and the resulting image created has a file size 10 times my original RAW image size. This is before any additional editing in Photoshop. Why such a large file? There is no difference if I export as a TIFF or PSD. Is there anything I can do to keep the files reasonably sized?
    Thanks.

to answer your first question, prints do not have an implicit bit-depth because they're no longer digital. the image is no longer stored as 1s and 0s. printers usually have a DPI rating (dots per inch) which is quite literally the number of individual ink dots that the printer can make in one horizontal inch and relates more to how sharp the image will print (at the extremes, consider printing something at 100dpi vs. 2800dpi). bit depth in an image relates to how many colors you can choose from to make your image. if you had a really low bit-depth, you might only have 32 colors available and to render a landscape. with 32 colors you wouldn't be able to capture all of the subtle shades of green in the leaves, especially if you needed to adjust the exposure up or down.
most on-line printing services will tell you that a high-quality JPEG is fine for printing and for the most part they're right! using PhotoShelter and their partner printing services i've uploaded and printed some of my own still life photos done in my studio. and the prints look great!
the problem with editing using a JPEG image is that if you repeatedly save the JPEG file, you're constantly re-compressing the image and over the course of several edits the quality of the image will degrade as more and more JPEG compression artifacts are introduced with each save (and subsequent re-compression of the image data).
so your workflow should involve editing uncompressed at a high bit rate, then export as a high-quality JPEG for upload to a printing service. however, if you're doing your own printing to a desktop photo printer, just print right from the edited uncompressed version in Aperture. either way, the results will be very good.

  • Opening Jpegs for editing same as Raw

    Can anyone please help me?
I use Photoshop Elements 6 and when I want to open a RAW image, I get a set of sliders on the right hand side that allows me to do basic editing there before actually opening the image.  I like to use this method of editing.  Is it possible to get the same screen when I open up a jpeg for editing?  I have attached a screen of my preferred method.
    Very many thanks

Barbara your instruction is correct but when I do that I was ask to fill up width and height in pixel. I try to use the original file size but it says the size is larger than the original. I tried to use smaller pizel and it says it is too samall. I open it anyway and what I saw is just dot scatered all over the the photo. Will you please help me what size I have to use?
