  • Starting WebLogic from Solaris

    Hi,
When I try to start weblogic server, I get the following error:
Could not load library "/usr/jre1.2.2/lib/sparc/libzip.so", because
    ld.so.1: /opt/java/jdk1.2.2/bin/sparc/native_threads/java: fatal:
    relocation error: file /usr/jre1.2.2/lib/sparc/libzip.so: symbol

Could not create the Java virtual machine.
Any help to solve this would be appreciated.
    Regards, Ram.

    Serisha,
Yes, I'm using startWebLogic.sh script. And yes, its using JDK1.2.2
installed on my machine. Seems like its not able to find the
    symbol JNU_ThrowNullPointerException.
    Thx, Ram.

    Hi,
Can You provide the complete details about your installation. If you are
using startWebLogic.sh file provided, then you need to modify the path to
point to the JDK... installed on your machine.
    Goodluck.

  • Solaris Weblogic 8.1 Server - starting Weblogic as non-root user

    Hello,
Currently we are starting weblogic 8.1 server as the root user, but would like to start as a non-root user.
(our unix team isn't too happy giving us, the dev team the root password!).
Is it possible to start Weblogic 8.1 on Solaris 8 without the root password?...If so, can you point me, where I can find more information in the documentation, please.
    thanx,
    Vishwa

If you have managed to boot the server before in the past you should have a config.xml.booted file in your domain. Try using this to boot, if it works you can diff it with your possibly mashed config.xml to see what went wrong.

  • Native VM not supported error when start WebLogic Server on Solaris

I created a weblogic domain and server using configuration wizard from workshop 8.1, the JVM is jdk142_05. When I start weblogic server, get follwing error: native VM not supported. The enviroment is
    Solaris.
We used the same jdk started medrec example without problem. Any idea for the possible cause?
Thank any one who can help.

    Stopping Pointbase server...
    Pointbase server stopped.

I believe this is the error you get when you try to start up a JVM with the commandline option '-native'.
Remove this flag from your startup script and retry.
By the way, it may be that you have the environment variable 'JAVA_OPTIONS' set to '-native' in which case:
(first confirm this is the case)
    $ echo $JAVA_OPTIONS
    -native
(Then edit the startup script if you get the result above)
    add in a line:
    # To remove '-native' flag
    unset JAVA_OPTIONS
    and retry.
I have to confess I don't know what the '-native' flag is actually supposed to do, but my JVM also reports back that this is unsupported.

    Hi,
    Few comments here...
    1) Seems your environment is not setup correctly but that is not the big cause here.....
    2) This one is important, it seems that you installed weblogic using a different account and are trying to run it from a different account.
So the account with which you are trying to run weblogic does not have proper permission on
    MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config\fmwconfig\bootstrap\cwallet.sso
Right click on the file and go in properties ..
Enable full control, modify,Read and execute, read and write permissions for the user you are trying to start weblogic and apply it.
if this simple steps doesnt work, please enable more logging by adding "-Djava.security.debug=jpspolicy" to startup option and grab more details.
Good Luck let me know if this works.

    Hi Roger,
    Step1).Move inside your Domain Directory.
Example: (here WLST_Domain is my Domain Name)
    /opt/app/bea103/user_projects/domains/WLST_Domain
Step2). move inside the Servers directory
    Example:
    /opt/app/bea103/user_projects/domains/WLST_Domain/servers
Step3). Move inside the Admin Server Directory...In my case the Administration Server name is "AdminServer"
    Example:
    /opt/app/bea103/user_projects/domains/WLST_Domain/servers/AdminServer
Step4). Take a Backup of "data" folder, Means Just rename "data" directory to some other Directory like "data_OLD"
Step5). Inside AdminServer Create a directory with name "security"
    /opt/app/bea103/user_projects/domains/WLST_Domain/servers/AdminServer/security
Step6). Inside the "security" directory Just create a file with the name "boot.properties"
Step7). Inside the boot.properties file Just enter the UserName and Password in two lines
Example: below is the content of "boot.properties"...only following two lines
    username=weblogic
    password=weblogic
    Step8) Start the WebLogic Server
Note: If you are using WebLogic 10.3.1 then the default password may be either "weblogic1" or "welcome1"

    Hi
This is a Unix problem, you may check if you have all the permissions.
I suspect that some of the files which may be owned by someone other than user-value and therefore preventing the writting to the
    files.
Can you check the files owership under /usr/local/bea/wlserver6.1/config/mydomain/applications/.wlnotdelete to see if any of the
files or subdirectories are owned by someone else, such as 'root' or even under different group?"
    Hope this help

You're using a newer version of JDK 1.5 than is supported with WLS.
If you want a supported JVM, then use the one which is packaged with 9.1.

Your server certificate expired. You need to update your identity keystore with a new certificate.
The expired certificate was issued by the demo BEA certificate authority (CA). These certs are not adequate for production but if you want to take this approach for your new cert you'll have to use the BEA CertGen utility. Have a look at http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/secmanage/ssl.html for more details.
Your other option is to use Java's keytool utility to create a private key. You'd then generate a certificate signing request (CSR) that you'd send to a CA such as Verisign. You might even have a CA in-house. The CA will then send you a signed certificate that you load in your keystore. Assuming you've configured WebLogic to use this keystore you should be back in business with SSL.
