Static library archive of other archives only. Possible in Xcode?

Hi there,
I want to create a static library that is an archive (.a file) of other archives Seems straightforward to do this with libtool. However, Xcode doesn't execute the libtool command on build if there are no source files.
Any ideas?
Would be nice to have it do this.
Any advice much appreciated!

If it's giving a ".a" library then it is not a shared library (or DLL) but an archive
library. It will get linked into your main application as if it's part of it.
A shared library will end in a .so.
If you have a project for your .a ensure that you're building a debug
version of it and that you main application is using the debug version.
If the .a is a debug version you should be able to put breakpoints
there. Try NewBreakpoint and choose a Function style breakpoint
and give it the name of a function in your library.
Let me know how that goes.

My guess is therabbitwindfall's answer was correct but where you able to find a solution to your question? If so, please do share. I need to embed my app within another app and the only way is through a static library. I'd rather not have to re-develop my app in Xcode in order to generate the .a file.

File sender adapter: archiving not possible with transp.prot "filesystem,

Hi XI gurus,
in my FILE sender adapter I want to archive the processed files to a separate sub-directory of the "in" directory.
It works if I use transport protocoll "FTP" with a specific user
but it don't works when I use transport protocoll "file system (NFS)".
the xi user has all permission on the directories.
file system is on a UNIX machine.
Has anybody an idea why archiving only works with transf.protocoll FTP ?

Podcast archive only appearing under music

Radio 4's In Our Time have recently made their whole archive available to download. I've been subscribing to the podcast for some years. However, when I import the new, archived In Our Time programmes they're separated as podcasts under genre in Music but not

Un-install Version 7, re-boot the computer and then install Version 6. Your library will be untouched but you may have to steer Version 6 to find your library again.

on the screen where you need to enter the path to the JCT, the links are given on where to download those libararies.

Is that possible to call a static library?

I'm using JNI to call a third party static library (.a file), but I always got the java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError. I'm not sure whether it is possible to invoke APIs from static c libraries. Anyone here has this kind of experience ?
Here is my scenario:
I have a native method in java class named sendMessage(), and implement this method in message.c(function: Java_MessageSender_sendMessage()) by calling a API in a third party static library(msg.a). However when I run the java class, I always got the error. But If I just run the main() of message.c which also calling the Java_MessageSender_sendMessage(), it will be ok.
some code of c file:
Java_MessageSender_sendMessage()
printf("hello");//this line can be executed
sendMessage();//this line is calling the static library, and error occurs here when the function called from java side
int main(int argc, char *argv[])
Java_MessageSender_sendMessage()//It's ok when directly run this application
Any information will be helpful to me.

As you have said, the static libraries already have been linked when I made the libmessage.sl using aCC:
aCC -z -b -o libmessage.sl message.o -lmsg
Is there anything wrong with the command?

Archiving only compressed InfoCubes?

Hello Colleges,
We have an InfoCube with 5 Mill Records. If I try to select a daterange for Archiving, I get allways the error the request is not compressed. I could not find in any document any record size when it has to be compressed. Is it a generall restriction, which is never mentioned in a document. Does anybody has experince with archiving and had also this problem?

Hi,
It is recommended to archive only fully compressed InfoCubes as you want to ensure that you do not archive data from requests while they are being loaded.
In addition, if you InfoCube has a non-cumulative key figure, there is a hard check to ensure all requests are compressed first before an archive job can execute.

Archive only 3 batch classification tables

Hi Gurus,
I want to archive only AUSP, KSSK and INOB tables.
Is there any way that i can archive only those 3 tables? (i.e. Without archive any other tables which links to the particular archiving object.)
Also what are the prerequisites ( technically complete production orders, close purchase orders) for that?

there is no archiving object that can archive records from these tables without archiving records from any other leading table.
These tables are not only used for batch classification, they hold values for several other classifications as well, they are just the central tables of classification system.
You have to archive the business object, e.g. MM_SPSTOCK for batches, to get dependend records from tables AUSP, KSSK ... archived too.

I tried to increase the size of db_recovery_file_dest_size as suggested in replies on my question but still no luck.

What is the size of E:\oradata\flash_recovery_area now?Size of E:\oradata\flash_recovery_area now is 20.4 GB at the moment.

Archiving Only option in Output Control

There is an option Archiving only in output type. Could you please provide us the use of it and how exactly it works. Wht requirement needs to be used while adding this output type in procedure.

The document type to be used can then be entered in the Storage system title of the message type The Storage mode selection field controls whether a message is outputted, stored or outputted and stored. The entry of a document type is only necessary in the last two cases.

Seriously, Home Sharing sounds like a fine solution to the need you express.
However, your question suggests that your library is not backed up, right? You and your husband should each make a backup of your libraries.

Command-line to combine obj files (.o) into a Static Library (lib.a) file.

I have a library that I need to compile for Solaris 10 x86 using Sun Studio. I compile the source files to make obj files by issuing the command:
Bash-3.0# cc -c -D"_UNIX_" *.c
This compiles every source.c and produces an object.o file. (Nice, & simple.)
Now, what is the command-line to combine all those object.o files (along with a few other staticlibs.a) and make one archive, lib.a?
I've done this many times with the gnu - gcc compilers. Is it possible with the Sun Studio Tools? And where is it documented?
I thought I had this 'licked' when installed SS12u1 and built the 'Welcome' project. But I have searched the "Sun Studio 12: C User's Guide" from top to bottom, and I don't have a 'clue' :-( ...

Run the command

If you create an archive library newly each time (instead of trying to update an existing library), this command will do the job:
ar -r myarchive.a file1.o file2.o file3.o ... I recommend building the archive freshly each time instead of trying to update an existing archive. You can get unpleasant surprises when trying to update.
To link an archive into a program, just put the archive name on the linking command line (with a -L option to point to the directory if appropriate). The position of the archive on the command line matters. The linker scans the archive as it processes command-line options in order. It pulls a .o from the archive only if it has already seen a reference to a symbol that is defined in the archive. Therefore, the archive must follow all files and other libraries that reference the contents of the archive. Example:
Suppose f1.o uses something from archive.a, and all files are in the same directrory. This command will work:
cc -o myprog main.o f1.o archive.a This command will not work:
cc -o myprog main.o archive.a f1.o The reference in f1.o will not be satisfied.
