Stats from Standalone Gateway in ST03

Per SAP recommendation, I have installed a standalone gateway for my MSCS cluster.  SAP recommended this so that the database statistics would showup in the EarlyWatch reports and ST03.  I had created the Standalone gateway per note 657999 and I am wondering how I can add these stats in ST03.

Hi,
I think the standalone gateway installation for MSCS is mainly to be able to use transactions ST04, OS07 (equivalent of ST06 where you can choose the database RFC destination) and brtools from transaction DB13.
In ST03, I've got exactly the same information as if we were not using MSCS.
It works great on my MSCS R/3 4.7 system.

Olivier

    Hi,
    nope, we solved it.
    It seems that this behavior occurs only under special circumstances.
    Scenario is:
    1. RDP Gateway connection to our Hyper-V Hosts (We need it for our Windows Azure Pack installation). A certificate is needed to encrypt the connection between RDPGW and Hyper-V host. This certificate is distributed by the VMM to the Hyper-V Hosts with the
    private key.
    2. Migrating from standalone installation to High Availability therefore migrating from DPAPI to DKM
    It looks like that the key or the password to unencrypt the private key, which is stored in the database, is itself stored in the DPAI/DKM.
    So when you try to get the migrated Service online the error report in my first post is generated.
    What we did was fiddeling around in the database. Make sure you have a backup !!
    You need two tables:
    tbl_ADHC_Host
    tbl_VMM_CertificateStore
    1. Go to the table "tbl_ADHC_Host" and edit the key fk_ADHC_Host_VMM_CertificateStore and set "Enfore Foreign Key Constraint" to "No".
    2. get the value "VMConnectCertficateID" from the table "tbl_ADHC_Host"
    3. Go to the table "tbl_VMM_CertificateStore" and delete the Certficate with the value which equals the "VMConnectCertificateID". Note: Corresponding Certificate in the CErtificatestore table should have something in the column "PrivatekeyPassword"
    and an ObjectType of 6.
    4. The service should now start and you can reconfigure the certificate used for the encryption between your RDPGW and Hyper-V Hosts, like you did before.
    5.  Go to the table "tbl_ADHC_Host" and edit the key fk_ADHC_Host_VMM_CertificateStore and set "Enfore Foreign Key Constraint" back to "Yes".
    Hope that helps. ;)

  • Standalone Gateway in MSCS not working correctly

    Dear Experts,
    I have installed a standalone gateway according to note 657999 in a BW cluster system. I already installed 2 standalone gateways in 2 other systems and they are working fine. I am checking this using sm49 and running a zdir external program in each node.
    Although the services were installed and started correctly, as well as the GW cluster resource, external programs still run only in one node and fail when run from the other node.
    Any thoughts will be pointly appreciated. Thank you.

    I have bought Adobe Acrobat X Standard & now works

  • Problem in DB13 - standalone gateway installed - error due to env

    Hello,
    As we have db and ci on separate server and there was no gateway on db server, I installed standalone gateway the rfc connection started working fine. When I try to execute any BR* command through DB13, it gives error.
    I checked using SM69 the output of env and BRTOOLS using the working RFC destination.
    BRTOOLS ends with return code 3 - BR0152E Environment variable ORACLE_SID is not set
    I modified .sapenv.csh and .sapenv.sh in /home/sidadm of gateway sid, but the error remained the same.
    When command env is run through SM69 suing the working RFC destination, its output is not having the set variable values.
    In trace, there are no errors reported, but it does not show which environment variable file its checking.
    Can someone please let me know which environment variable file is checked when the SM69 - env is run?
    Thank you,
    Vaibhav

    Dear Vaibhav,
    Please,check the environment variable using the transaction SM49
    and external command "ENV" for Unix - this is the environment valid
    for jobs running from DB13. The environment of ora<sid> on Unix is not
    relevent for jobs running from DB13.
    1. please copy appropriate version of BR*-executables in the directory
    /sapmnt/SID/exe and set the owner and permissions as per note #113747.
    2. set the environment variables ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_HOME, SAPDATA_HOME,
    SAPSID=SIDfor the user "sidadm" and restart the standalone gateway
    to activate the new environment.
    After that changes, DB13 jobs should work.

    Rafael

  • Distributed Database + DB13 + SAPXPG + Standalone Gateway

    Hi All,
    I knew this question has been asked and answered but i still couldn't find the concrete solution. Any advise is mostly welcome.
    I've installed Distributed Database on Solaris and CI on Solaris as well. Due to security reason and policies, our customer stop us from using RSH.
    I've installed standalone gateway in Distributed Database with System Name EGW, system number 20. My SAP and DB name is AEP.
    gwrd is started using egwadm. TCP_IP connection SAPXPG_DBDEST_DBHOSTNAME works fine, however when i kick off checkDB in DB13, i got the below error:
    "> Function: BtcXpgPanicCan't exec external program (No such file or directory)"
    Have i miss out something? Do i need to add any ENV to egwadm or edit the SAPXPG program?
    fyi, br* and SAPXPG authorization are all set correctly in /sapmnt/AEP/exe. Env for AEPadm in CI is identical to AEPadm in DB server.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Nicholas Chang.

    Hi All,
    Since there's no SAP Note explaining how to setup standalone gateway in UNIX env and incorporate for brtools to work in distribtuted system. I'll summarize the resolution here:
    1) Install GW in database server
    2) update the GW start profile with below value:
    BGW = Gateway's SID.
    SETENV_00 = LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$(DIR_LIBRARY):%(LD_LIBRARY_PATH)
    SETENV_01 = SHLIB_PATH=$(DIR_LIBRARY):%(SHLIB_PATH)
    SETENV_02 = LIBPATH=$(DIR_LIBRARY):%(LIBPATH)
    SETENV_03 = ORACLE_SID=SID
    SETENV_04 = SAPDATA_HOME=/oracle/
    SIDSETENV_05 = PATH=$PATH:/home/BGWadm:/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run:/usr/bin:.:/usr/ccs/bin:/usr/ucb:/oracle/SID/112_64/bin
    3) update BGWadm env profile - sapenv_HOSTNAME.csh
    setenv SAPDATA_HOME /oracle/SID
    setenv ORACLE_SID   SID
    setenv PATH /home/bgw:/usr/sap/BGW/SYS/exe/run:/usr/bin:.:/usr/ccs/bin:/usr/ucb:/oracle/SID112_64/bin
    setenv ORACLE_HOME /oracle/SID/112_64
    setenv USER bgwadm
    setenv dbs_ora_schema SAPSR3
    setenv NLS_LANG AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8
    setenv DB_SID SID
    setenv dbs_ora_tnsname SID
    setenv dbms_type ORA
    setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run:/oracle/SID/112_64/lib
    setenv DIR_LIBRARY /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run
    4) copy br* to gateway's /sapmnt/SID/exe/ and ensure 4775 is granted
    5)Create the special OPS$ setting to allow BGWADM to log into the database.  use the script below .  Log in as oraSID to run this on DB host via SQLPLUS (connect /as sysdba)
    CREATE USER "OPS$BGWADM" DEFAULT TABLESPACE PSAPSR3USR
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE PSAPTEMP IDENTIFIED EXTERNALLY;
    grant unlimited tablespace to "OPS$EGWADM" with admin option;
    grant connect to "OPS$BGWADM" with admin option;
    grant resource to "OPS$BGWADM" with admin option;
    grant connect to "OPS$BGWADM" with admin option;
    grant resource to "OPS$BGWADM" with admin option;
    grant sapdba   to "OPS$BGWADM" with admin option;
    CREATE TABLE "OPS$BGWADM".SAPUSER
    (USERID VARCHAR2(256), PASSWD VARCHAR2(256));
    INSERT INTO "OPS$BGWADM".SAPUSER VALUES ('SAPSR3',
    'your_password');
    6) stop gateway and kill gateway sapstartsrv
    7) start gateway
    8) in CI - SM59 - TCP_IP -> SAPXPG_HOSTNAME_DB -> ensure gateway host is points to DB server and sapgw is the system number for DB Gateway
    9) test checkDB in db13.
    Cheers,
    Thanks,
    nicholas chang.

  • Standalone Gateway configuration

    I installed Standalone gateway for our CRM server. How to connect standalone gateway with central instance?
    Gateway Host: SAPTST
    SID: CSD
    Instance number: 03
    Central instance: SAPCRM
    SID: CRD
    Instance Number: 01
    Thanks
    Reddy

    Hi Reddy,
    what do you want to do with the stand alone gateway? Stand alone gateways are in general used for example 3rd party products which do run on machines where there is no SAP Based System installed. Lets say you do have a 3rd party product wich supports the connection via RFC from SAP Systems. You can then connect the 3rd party application to this standalone gateway. Once this is done you can then go to transaction SM59 and set up a TCP/IP connection to the 3rd party product and use the gateway installed on the 3rd party machine.
    This is just a very general explanation of what you can do with a standalone gateway. There are some other options but to go into more detail you need to explain a little more what you want to do.
    regards Ingo

  • SAGW (SAP standalone gateway) upgrade

    I'm looking to upgrade the kernel (4.6D)for a standalone gateway server. SAP doesn't provide a specific sar-package for such. Can I just pick up the various executables from a standard kernel package and repalce them on the gateway? Any gotcha's to be wary of?
    Can I go to a more recent release (eg. 6.40) and still interact with 4.6, 6.1, 6.2 instances?

    You can find install instructions here:

  • Collect cdr from cisco gateway AS5300 into a database in realtime

    Hello !!
    somebody knows how can i collect cdr from cisco gateway AS5300 into a database in realtime?
    Regards

    You can use gw-accounting as explained below:
    gw-accounting
    To enable an accounting method for collecting call detail  records (CDRs), use the gw-accounting command in global  configuration mode. To disable an accounting method, use the no form of this command.
    gw-accounting {aaa | file | syslog [stats] }
    no gw-accounting {aaa | file | syslog [stats] }
    gw-accounting {h323 [vsa] | syslog | voip}
    no gw-accounting {h323 [vsa] | syslog | voip}
    Syntax Description
    aaa
    Enables accounting through the AAA system and sends call  detail records to the RADIUS server in the form of vendor-specific attributes  (VSAs).
    file
    Enables the file accounting method to store call detail  records in .csv format.
    syslog
    Enables the system logging facility to output accounting  information in the form of a system log message.
    stats
    (Optional) Enables voice quality statistics to be sent to the  system log.
    h323
    Enables standard H.323 accounting using Internet Engineering  Task Force (IETF) RADIUS attributes.
    vsa
    (Optional) Enables H.323 accounting using RADIUS VSAs.
    voip
    Enables generic gateway-specific accounting.
    You can find more info in cisco IOS voice command reference guide.
    This is an example to collect CDR of H.323 calls via RADIUS:
    gw-accounting syslog
    gw-accounting aaa
    attribute acct-session-id overloaded
    attribute h323-remote-id resolved
    acct-template callhistory-detail

  • Limitation on SQL executing select statement from ADO and Oracle 8.1.7.1 OleDB Driver

    Hi,
    we are running a query with a big dunamic select statement from VB code using ADO command object. When Execute method is called system hangs and control won't return back to the application. it seems to be that there is some type limitation on Query string length. Please tell us if there is any?
    we are running Oracle 8.1.7 Server on Windows 200 Server and connecting from a W2K professional, ADO 2.6 and Oracle OLEDB 8.1.7.1 OLEDB Driver.
    Sample code:
    Dim rs As ADODB.Recordset
    Dim cmd As ADODB.Command
    Set cmd = New Command
    With cmd
    .CommandText = ' some text with more than 2500 characters
    .CommandType = adCmdText
    Set rs = .Execute
    End With
    when i debug using VB6 and when .Execute line is called system hangs or return a message method <<somemethod> of <<some class name>> failed error.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

    A stored procedure would only slow you down here if it was poorly written. I suspect you want to use the translate function. I'm cutting & pasting examples from the documentation-- a search at tahiti.oracle.com will give you all the info you'll need.
    Examples
    The following statement translates a license number. All letters 'ABC...Z' are translated to 'X' and all digits '012 . . . 9' are translated to '9':
    SELECT TRANSLATE('2KRW229',
    '0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ',
    '9999999999XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX') "License"
    FROM DUAL;
    License
    9XXX999
    The following statement returns a license number with the characters removed and the digits remaining:
    SELECT TRANSLATE('2KRW229',
    '0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', '0123456789')
    "Translate example"
    FROM DUAL;
    Translate example
    2229
    Also, LIKE '%<string>%' is going to be rather expensive simply because it has to compare the entire string and because it forces full table scans, rather than using indexes. You could speed this sort of query up by using interMedia Text (Oracle Text now in 9i). If you can eliminate one of the '%' options, you could also improve things.
    My guess is that your stored procedure is inefficient and that's causing the problem-- 5k rows per table should be pretty trivial.
    If you post your query over on the PL/SQL forum, there are better performance tuners than I that might have more hints for you. To get really good advice, though, you'lllikely have to get at least the execution plan for this statement and may need to do some profiling to identify the problem areas.

  • Extracting SQL statement from a Webi document's data provider using SDK.

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to extract the SQL statement from an existing Webi document's data provider using BO SDK?  I've searched through the class library but haven't found any information on this yet.  If you have done it, could you provide some guidance.  Many thanks.

    I found the following Java code that might be of some help to you. I realize you are using .NET but this might push you down the right path.
    The trick here is to use the Report Engine SDK to get the DataProvider of the DocumentInstance. Then, look at the SQLDataProvider to get your SQLContainer.
    My apologies for the poor formatting. This didn't copy and paste over to the forums very well. I've cleaned up as much as I could.

  • How to store data into database by reading sql statements from text file

    how to write java program for storing data into database by reading sql statements from text file

    Step 1: Create a property file to add various queries.
    Step 2: Read the properties file using ResourceBundle
    Step 3: Use the jdbc to execute the query read from the property file.
    So in future if you need to change query no need do any modifications in java program. But depends on how you use the property file.

  • Is it possible to change application state from a component?

    I was wondering if it is possible to change application state from within a custom component and if so, what would the syntax be if I had an application named "zzz" and I wanted to change the app state from "state1" to "state2" from my component?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    you always have a static class Application.
    Application.application will be the root component. After that you can change it state.
    Application.application.currentState = "state2";
    But it's not the best way to change states. It's better to dispatch events from components and change states in listeners.

  • I can no longer download PDF statements from my credit card site.

    I was trying to download a PDF statement from Chase credit card site, like I have done many times in the past, and it will not do a download. It opens the new window with nothing, and the downloads page has nothing on it.
    Can I go back to the previous version of Firefox until you have the bugs worked out of this version (4).

    I had the same problem.
    Before I solved it, sometimes it would work if I moved the tab from the new window to the window where the Chase main page was. Then after a reload it the PDF would show up.
    Some other websites where PDFs are generated also showed a blank page.
    ''The solution'': I had the '''PDF download''' Add-on (latest version, 3.0.0.2) and disabled it. It is not enough to disable the add-on in its add-on bar button, and writing the website in the add-on's "do not use" list also doesn't work. The only thing that works is disabling it in the Add-ons Manager or even uninstalling it.
