Status Down for DB target
Hello, please i need some help.
The status for a DB target is shown as Down in the Enterprise Manager Grid Control console. However, the DB is up and is working normally. What i can see is that user Dbsnmp is Locked(Timed) in dba_users, could this be the problem?. What users are involved with agents and conections to grid control?
How can i refresh the status?
Thanks in advance.
The user that OEM uses is determined by the configuration step with the agent in OEM. So click on the agent in OEM, click the radio button for the db, click configure. Give it the dbsnmp userid and credentials.

VM2.2 manager page shows wrong status "Shutting down" for VM Guest
Hi,
VM manager page shows wrong status "Shutting down" for VM guest, I can very much connect to console and see it is up and running.
It happened when trying to shutdown VM guest manually but in parallel VM server got rebooted automatically.
Any information on How to correct the status in VM manager page?
Thank you.I found below this solution on http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15458_01/doc.22/e15441/appendix_e.htm#BHBCIAJB
To solve this problem, change the status manually as follows:
1.Make sure that the virtual machine in the target server has been shut down. Use xm list or virsh list to check the virtual machine name and ID.
2.If the virtual machine is running, use xm shutdown vm_id or virsh shutdown vm_id to shut it down, where vm_id refers to the virtual machine name or ID.
3.Use xm list or virsh list to check if the virtual machine has been shut down. If it is still running, use xm destroy vm_id, or virsh destroy vm_id to shut it down.
4.Log in as oracle (or root first, then su - oracle) to the computer where Oracle VM Manager is installed, and run the following commands to change the virtual machine status to Powered off in the Oracle XE database:
export ORACLE_HOME='/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server'
export ORACLE_SID=XE
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus / as sysdba
SQL> update ovs.ovs_vm_img t set t.status='Powered Off' where t.img_name like 'vm_name';
SQL> commit;
SQL> quit
vm_name refers to the virtual machine name.
5.Retry your operation, or delete the virtual machine directly. -
What to do if the target system is down for async scenario
Hi All,
What all recovery options we have in XI if the target system is down for very long time
in async scenario ??
-> Can we configure any alerts which will send mails with the failed message details if the
target system is dowm for very long time.
If this is possible, will there be any links in that mail which will allow the
alert mail receiver to 'resend' the failed message once the target system is up ?
We are on nw2004s SP9.
Can anyone help.
Thanks in Advance
Regards,
ChemmanzCan we configure any alerts which will send mails with the failed message details if the target system is dowm for very long time.
Yes we can send Alters from XI . let clarify one thing here alters are triggred immedaitely when their any failure in Adapter or mapping or etc then immdeaitely it is sendt so theirt is no such things for this "details if the target system is dowm for very long time". it does not differencate it long or short.
If this is possible, will there be/can we configure any links in that mail which will allow the alert mail receiver to 'resend' the failed message once the target system is up ?
chekc the blog for alter step by step from Michal
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step
you can confiure alters to send your outlook also then if he replis you get a reply.

If BW system is down for several hours, what will be the status of the Jobs
Hello Gurus,
I don't know where i should post this issues! anyways .....! i need some information. One of our BW production system will be down for about 12 hours tomarrow to move it on to new hardware and this current system has lots of scheduled jobs with run daily and hourly..! so my question is ..what will be the status of this jobs which fall in between this down time?
as per our basis team information....they said that all these jobs will be queued up and when once the system is online ...these jobs will access all the avalable processess and if this thing happen....! then the system will have a VERY BAD performance and user cannot use this BW system...they cannot even open the bex analyzer.
so...i thought of deleting these queued jobs. can any one tell me WILL THESE JOBS WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT DAY??? OR IS THERE ANY OTHER WHY TO CONTROL THIS SITUATION?? our process chains are locked for modification..so, we cannot even re-schedule them in prod system.....
aaaaaah! can any one HELPP MEEEEE@
I will award full points for your suggestionHi,
when you'll restart you SAP system all jobs will be displayed with a delay since they didn't run during your downtime.
And that's true that they will be queued and fired as soon as a system resource will be available. That means a lot of paralel processes with system overload and usually subsequent errors in loading data.
As per suggested already, the best would be to shift the scheduling.
Another option is to execute the report BTCTRNS1 before shutting the system down. This will change all background job status to a "suspended" mode.
when your system is up again you will be able to release (or reschedule or cancel or any other action) single jobs in a controlled manner.
When you've finished with this task then don't forget to run BTCTRNS2 in order to enable background jobs to be executed.
hope that helps...

Target Application is Down for a while
Hi All,
My Scenario is Idoc to File(FTP), We triggered 1000 Idocs from ECC and all are gone through XI.
Received 300 messages only in FTP and after that FTP is down for some period of time unexpectedly.
How can we retrieve the remaining 700 messages to FTP Site
RegardsKrishna,
How can we retrieve the remaining 700 messages to FTP Site
Those 700 messages will still be in PI. After trying to write the files 3 times (which is SAP's default), the status will change to "System error".
You can re-send the messages manually. But in order to save yourself from trouble of re-sending the messages 700 times, choose "Multiple Selection On".
Hope this helps.

Message monitoring Status Waiting for email receiver
Hi Guru,
Scenario: SAP ECC will call Error Handling interface class. The communication channel for the Error Handling interface is Email Adapter.
Below is CC setting:
Adapter Type: Mail (Receiver)
Transport Protocol: SMTP
Message Protocol: XIALL
Adapter Engine: Integration Server
URL: smtp://11.11.11.111/
Check - Configure User Authentication
User : user1
Password: password
Mail Attributes:
From: [email protected]
To : [email protected]
Subject : test
Content Encoding: base64
I encountered one problem where my email receiver status in message monitoring is always 'Waiting'. I do not know what went wrong in the setting? Does anyone know how to solve my problem ?
Thanks in advance.
RegardsXI tries 3 times before changing the status of the message to System Error. One can Manually resend the error messages by using the RESEND button in RWB. In scenarios where XI was trying to send the message to an end system that was down for maintenance, you would want XI to resubmit the message automatically without human intervention. What would be nice is to able to tune the retries like IS_Retry which is available for Integration engine.
We can achieve this by changing the retry count used by the Adapter Engine, by default its set to 3 times, 5 minutes apart. This count can be changed in Visual Admin->server->services-> SAP XI Adapter: XI.
Here change the number Retries parameter from 3 to 10 and change the retry retryInterval to around 10minutes. For these configuration changes to be picked up, restart SAP XI Adapter: XI.

3. Function to update Table with the responded value.
4. End process.
After lauching the workflow, Notification send to the performer. Open the notification. When approver click the any of the result value (approve, reject, onhold) system giving followign message.
3101: Status row for item 'SAMPRREQ/20130206161924', activity ID '242956' does not exist.
I have seen some threads in the forums and bounce the database , purge the item type completly. But, still getting the error.
Regards/PrasanthSosa,
When i run the wfstat nothing wrong in the info. unable to find the issue.
But, i have narrow down the issue. In the function process in my workfow i am calling a custom function called update_approval_status_new.
In this the value of the respond notification to be updated to a header table of this workflow and insert into events tables.
When i comment these two dml ( update to header status & insert into events ) there is no error.
Can any one tells me can i update and insert custom tables in workflow or not. If I want to do this, what is procedure.

Any hint for tracing the root of this problem? Thank you very much!Hi ...
If you have moved the Safari application from the Applications folder, move it back.
As far as the cache goes, there's a work around for that when you can't empty the Safari cache from the menu bar.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.aple.Safari.Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Try Safari.
Mac OS X (10.7.2) < from your profile
If that is corrrect, you need to update your system software. Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software

Logical drive 1 status = Ready for recovery ml350 g5
Hi,
I have a problem with a HP Proliant ML350 G5, 2 weeks ago the server did shutdown unexpectedly i looked in the ACU and saw that the controller had a battery problem. I replaced the battery but the server keeps once or twice a day shutting down. I made a report from the ACU but i don't know what this all means.
Here is a part of the report, i hope someone can lead me to the right solution,
Thanks in advance.

To begin, I utterly despise the changes to the URL Bar and the removal of the Status bar. In order to stay with the latest version of Firefox I am attempting to recreate the look and feel as best I can.
I have already installed the Status-4-Evar extension. The only thing that remains is to remove the status information and the target URL from the bar.
Are there any settings in about:config that will allow me to make these changes?
EDIT: Status information can be removed by toggling. status4evar.statusInUrlBar. Still looking for a way to remove the target URL...This code in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css userChrome.css] below the @namespace line seems to remove the links that appear on hover.
<pre><nowiki>@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */
.urlbar-textbox-container {color: inherit !important;}
.urlbar-textbox-container-children {opacity: 1 !important;}
.urlbar-over-link-box {opacity: 0 !important;}
</nowiki></pre>

Message-Mapping: Use same RFC lookup for different target fields
Hello,
I need to apply an RFC Lookup which delivers a boolean flag back (true or false). This RFC lookup should be used for different target fields.
Is there a way to execute the RFC lookup just once and then store the result in an internediate variable that I can use for all futher checks for different target fields?
If this is not possible and I have to apply the RFC lookup for all necessary target fields is it then executed for each target field ? This is exactly what I want to avoid in order not to slow down performance.
The input parameter (=source field value) would be the same.
Thank you for your advice!Exactly.
Here is a UDF example I have that you could adapt to your needs.
Set
public String setCounter(String a,String b,Container container){
/* Store values in global datacontainer
a: mapping value and return valueparameter
b: name for stored value parameter
GlobalContainer myGlobalContainer;
myGlobalContainer = container.getGlobalContainer();
myGlobalContainer.setParameter(b.toUpperCase(), a);
return a;
Get
public String getCounter(String a,Container container){
//write your code here
GlobalContainer gc = container.getGlobalContainer();
if (gc.getParameter(a) != null) {
return String.valueOf(gc.getParameter(a));
} else {
return "1"; -
Status metric for the OEM plugin for DB2 Databases
Hi,
I am doing some testing of the OEM system monitoring plug-in for an IBM DB2 Database. I am starting with some very basic alerts such as when an instance is down. However, it is not working as I would expect. When the instance is stopped using the command db2stop I would expect OEM to determine that the database is down. However, OEM reports a metric collection error and not the database being down.
Does anybody have any experience with DB2 databases and OEM?
Thanks,
ChristineBy creating Groups for specific targets and authoriizing access to these groups you can have users only "seeing" databases or certain databases and other users only being able to see certain Middleware components etc.

Single hierarchy for multiple target systems
Hi,
I have a version named "Account" with a hierarchy named as "Acc2013".
the hierarchy "Acc2013" is same across Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion GL, and HFM.
how can i assign multiple node types to the same hierarchy so that i just need to maintain one hierarchy (this case account hierarchy) and select the properties pertaining to each target system?
i.e. i select the Oracle GL from the drop down and give the details for the Oracle GL then i select the HFM category from the drop down and provide the HFM related properties.
the reason why i am asking is, if i dont give the node type, all the unnecessary properties are showing up for other type of hierarchies. for e.g. there is another hierarhcy named cost center there its showing the account related properties.
to summarize, how i can utilize a single hierarchy to be used for different target systems? Appreciate your help. do i need to create different version and hierarchy for different types of target systems?I'm late to respond to this, but I always preach to customers that it is critical for DRM to act as an enterprise view. This isn't a "System A" hierarchy, or a "System B" hierarchy, but rather it's an asset that is shared by both systems, and therefore attributes for both systems are valid. Since node types provide the ability to hide properties, many interesting options present themselves, not all of which lead to a good outcome in the longer term. If a user doesn't ever want to see properties for a particular system, it would be better to just remove their access to that property category in many cases. (They may already have read only access but they object to "being bothered" with seeing those properties.)
I've seen many DRM implementations head down the other path and end up with duplicate maintenance requirements, configuration challenges, or even having to do major reengineering efforts to transition DRM from a Finance department tool into an enterprise use case feeding a data warehouse. A current customer of mine used a scheme where a checkbox on each property category would make the properties disappear if unchecked...this worked great with a handful of node types, but unfortunately the number of node types needed to support all of these property category combinations was bound by factorial math principles. Consequently the maintenance for this solution went from unweildy to unmanageable as more "non-HFM" data was added to DRM.
DRM implementations should be guided by governance principles and maintenance business rules, rather than than how things appear in DRM. It's how they appear when published that is of primary importance. I think the new features related to Data Governance will help greatly in this regard. Users that are overwhelmed by the DRM UI can easily be limited to the attributes that are relevant to their specific workflows, and only the "Power users" will see everything. -
