Stdout severity level

Hi all,
I am using weblogic application server version 923 with two managed nodes. One of the managed node has an different team's ear that our application uses. The managed node's logging severity level for the stdout is set to NOTICE and there is no filtering enabled and uses JDK logging.
The ear does not contain a log4j.xml. But the the server node's .out file shows the DEBUG and INFO messages from the java classes contained in the ear.
I assumed that if the severity level in admin console is set to NOTICE, the DEBUG/INFO log4j messages of the application will be filtered out.
The other issue, is that there is no log4j.xml on the entire linux box on which the application server is running. I confirmed that using find command.
Also the admin node's logging severity level /filter are disabled; I wonder if this is causing an issue?
We need to install this ear in production weblogic enviornment thus wondering as how to avoid application related DEBUG/INFO messages in the .out file?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you should - although I've never tried it personally with a clustered WLS. I'd suggest that you try one of the WLS forums - you'll probably get a better response.

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.0 Link-Down Alarm severity level

    Hi,
i have been looking for a way to lower the severity level of link-down Alarms. I use the threshhold utilization feature and want to generate an alarm when CPU or Memory goes over 90%, this works fine. Problem is that when you enable "Switches and Hubs" or "Routers" category to receive alarms under: Operate -> Alarms & Events -> Email Notifications, you define only Critical alarms should generate an email and Link-down is by default Critical.
Well you figure that you should be able to change this, but i can't find anything to change the severity under: Administration -> System Settings -> Severity Configuration.
Do anyone know if this is even possible? If so please tell me how..

    Hi,
    Yes it is possible.
    Changing Alarm Severities
You can change the severity level for newly generated alarms
    Note Existing alarms remain unchanged.
To change the severity level of newly generated alarms:
Step 1 Choose Administration > System Settings .
Step 2 Choose Severity Configuration from the left sidebar menu.
Step 3 Select the check box of the alarm condition whose severity level you want to change.
Step 4 From the Configure Severity Level drop-down list, choose the new severity level ( Critical , Major , Minor , Warning , Informational , or Reset to Default ).
Step 5 Click Go, then click OK.
Check the attached screen shot ..
    Thanks-

  • Change severity level of validation messages

    hi,
i was wondering whether there's an easy way to change the severity level of messages generated by framework validation.
    for instance i use something like <f:validateDoubleRange minimum="0" maximum="200" /> and
    <h:messages layout="table" errorClass="error_font" fatalClass="error_font" infoClass="info_font"/>.
When entering a number bigger than 200 a SEVERITY_INFO is generated. As this Severity level is reserved for positive outcome of the operation this is quite misleading to the user.
are there any workarounds or is it just not common practice to use h:messages for anything else than validation?

Sounds like a bug. This have to be an error rather than an info.
I don't have the environment to test it right now, but can you tell which JSF version you're using and if this problem will be solved if you install the latest from [http://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net] (which is currently 1.2_12)? Can you also tell which appserver implementation/version you're using?

  • Manipulating SNMP Trap link_down severity level?

    Dear Cisco experts,
I wonder if there's a way to manipulate sent traps from a switch with different severity levels?
I now see SNMP link_down traps in my NMS, but they're all of the same level, but a link_down from a desktop is 'normal', a server link_down would be 'warning', but when an uplink to another data center goes down, it should result in all alarms going off, so should be 'critical'.
Is there a way to tell my switch to send an SNMP trap on a different severity level dependent on the type of interface? This is most important because these links all have different SLAs.
Many thanks for your support and suggestions.
    Marco van der Pal

This is not possible, Only one sort of trap is possible
You best approach woud be to disable up-down traps on ports that are not important.
LMS now has port groups. That feature could be usefull for doing this

  • Set logging severity level for clustered servers

How can I set the logging severity level for clustered servers just once at the cluster level rather than one at a time at the server level?

I know the logging is server by server, but surely there is a way to configure the multiple servers with one change rather than one by one. We have 40 some servers in the cluster.

  • Severe level log o.d.r.utils.Connections

    Hi,
I would to find to out why I am getting the following log message (Logging Page - Log) in sqldeveloper when connecting to a some databases:
    Level - Sequence - Elapsed - Source - Message
    SEVERE - 820     - 5     - o.d.r.utils.Connections     -
o.d.r.utils.Connections seems to be short for: oracle.dbtools.raptor.utils.Connections
There is no information apart from that being logged, and I do not have any other severe messages being logged either. I can also see objects in the database and run queries.
This message is also not happening on all my database connections, so it may have nothing to do with JDeveloper - but how to I identify the problem? How can I get more information on this error and why it is being logged?

  • Problem in Workflow in Purchase Order for Several Level of Release Process

    Hello everybody,
I have to create a workflow in which a release steps are assined by the size of amount. so in minimum 2 to maximum of 4 level approval. When the first person approves the workflow shold go to the next person. I have used the standard task TS20000166 activity in a loop and each time i'm using different user as agent. But after the first person approves and saves the activity is trminated by the first release PO from the screen. But when it loops and comes to the activity of second release, even after the release the activity is not terminating. It shows it is in process. The event of 'release' which shold have terminated the activity shows a error message in 'Display Event Trace' that "No configuration for workflow WS98000003 version 0000". But no error is shown in the workflow log.
Could u please tell how to solve this issue?? or any other way to achive the requiremnt of different levels of release based on the size of the amount?? Required solution ASAP.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ajo

add loop end condition as release indicator = 'R'. Also dont forget to add the terminating event "Released" for the task you are using..

Yes there is. You can design a folder hierarchy and export into it. See page 490 and following in the Manual.

  • HTMLB TableView - several levels of columnnames

    Hi
Is there anyway I can get the htmlb tableView tag to not show the columnNames?
What I really want to do is to hade two levels of columnnames. That is I want one level to span over two sublevels of columnnames. Like this:
    |Subscription|Paid
    A | B| C | D
Where A and B are sublevels of Subscription and C and D are sublevels of Paid.
If I can get the tableView tag to not generate the columnnames and just generate the data rows I can code the columnnames manually. Or is there a way to just generate the datarows?

    Ah, I got it.
It's not important to activate the wrapping of the CELL, but the wrapping of the textView!
          lr_text->id            = p_cell_id.
          lr_text->text          = get_text( <fs_row>-.. ).
          lr_text->wrapping      = 'TRUE'.

  • How to set server log file severity

Will some one suggest how to set the severity for messages logged by server to server log file. The admin console consists of setting "Stdout Severity Threshold" which is applicable only to standard out. I need to restrict info messages to be logged in server log file.

Which release of WebLogic Server are you using? In WebLogic 9.0 there is an attribute on the LogMBean called LogFileSeverity which could be configured to "Warning" so it will not allow Debug and Info level messages to be written to the server log file. In the 8.1 release you would need to do this programatically using a startup class, by getting a reference to the server Logger by invoking weblogic/logging/LoggingHelper.getServerLogger() and setting the appropriate weblogic/logging/WLLevel on the weblogic/logging/FilestreamHandler that writes to the server log file.
    Hope this helps

  • Can you set log level

Does weblogic supply any way of setting the level of log messages that

Yes, weblogic does supply a way of setting the level of log messages that actually

  • WebLogic 10.3.6 logging health messages to stdout

    Hello,
    I have a 10.3.6 instance running with JRE 1.7.0_25-b15.
The server is sending health related info messages to stdout.
"com.bea.logging.BaseLogger log Info: XX% of the total memory in the server is free"
2 messages are logged at a time, but not on a consistent interval.
We send the stdout and stderr to a log file via the -Dweblogic.Stdout and -Dweblogic.Stderr properties.  These messages are adding to the
log file size and frankly are an annoyance.  Is there any additional settings/properties/filters needed to eliminate these messages?
These are the instance's settings with regard to logging:
    - Minimum severity to log: Warning
    - Log File Severity level: Warning
    - Standard Out Severity level: Off
    - Memory Buffer Severity level: Warning
    - Redirect Stdout Logging:  disabled
    - Redirect Stderr Logging:  disabled
    - Logging implementation:  JDK
