Step 5 of the BPC 7.0 Upgrade Guide - MeasureFormula table

Howdy.  In the 7.0 BPC Upgrade guide, step 5 says:
5. The MeasureFormula table is created (rather than the tblFormula and tblYTDFormula tables)
when you process dimensions. Because the custom measure is not copied to the MeasureFormula
table, you will need to create a custom measure for the MeasureFormula table.
Could someone please provide more explicit instructions on exactly how to do this?  Neither myself or my BPC administrator have any idea what this is talking about.

   This point is related to the manaement of measures formulas. In BPC 5.0 the measures was managed using two sql tables tblFormula and tblYTDFormula. Starting with BPC 7.0 there is only one single sql table for the measures definition.
   In case you are using the standard measures, there is nothing to do during the appset migration(it is only a structural change). In case you have added manually some custom measures into tblFormula or tblYTDFormula, you have to manually move those definitions into MeasuresFormula.

    The GUID partition option is one of three possible choices (click the "Options" button in the Partition") menu - be careful to have a full backup as changing the partition scheme will force an erasure on the disk. Take a look at this Apple support article for more complete information:
    Firmware updates for Intel-based Macs require a GUID partition scheme - Apple Support
    Ignore the stuff about firmware updates and just look at the changing GUID partition scheme.
    Good luck - and don't forget about the full backup BEFORE making this sort of change.

    Firefox has suddenly gone wrong. I was successfully running both Firefox and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7. My laptop is new and has plenty of RAM and HDD. I auto-accept upgrades including the most recent Firefox upgrade and the suggested upgrade to Adobe Flash 10.1. But after this, Firefox stopped working and does not work when I re-load Firefox 3.6. Also IE8 now works very slowly and does not locate major websites like Microsoft without a 'can't find the website message' and having to pressing Return a second time. When I do get to the Mozilla website and click on the button to try to download Firefox 3.6.6, I get this message "Oops! Internet Explorer could not find mozilla3.snt.utwente.nl". Can you help with what has gone wrong? As it stands, I can't use Firefox at all. Note: because Firefox did not work after the upgrade, I've downloaded the IE8 version of the Adobe Flash 10.1. What I really want is to be able to use both Firefox and IE8. But is this possible if they use different versions of Adobe Flash?

    I have been having the same problem as the original poster. After upgrading to Ffx 3.6.6, the program asks you to upgrade to Flash Player Plugin 10.1. I download and installed 10.1 only to find videos weren't loading.
    In my case, the problem is the previous installation of Flash Player (9.0.47) was somehow messing things up. To fix this, because I already had Flash plugin 10.1 installed I had to uninstall 10.1 using the uninstaller from adobe and then manually remove any files related the old flash player plugin 9.0.47
    Here is a run-down of my process:
    0. To check if you have a previous installation of the Flash Plugin lurking around, in Firefox go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins (tab). At this point you may seen both Flash plugins.
    1. Proceed to uninstall Flash Plugin 10.1. Adobe provides an uninstaller here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
    ( you have to make sure you have nothing running when you execute the installer).
    2. On my Mac (sorry I don't know what it is in Windows) I searched the hard drive for any files/folders with "Shockwave". I found a folder called "Shockwave 10". It wasn't removed by Adobe's uninstaller. For safety I deleted it and then emptied the trash.
    3. I then went to My HD -> Library -> Internet Plugins.
    Remove the file and folder named "Flash player.old"
    4. Restarted; ran the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 installer. Restarted again.
    5. Opened up ffx and double checked the plugins list (see step 1). Version 10.1 is installed and available. Went to problem sites to test it out and Success!

    Hi,
    I used OCEP 10.3.0.0 and upgraded the wlevs30 domain to PS6(11.1.1.7.0). and it worked without such error.
    My experience is:
    1) in OCEP 10.3.0.0 it needs not to add the security groups in atnstore.txt
    2) you need to add <scratch-directory/> for Jetty in server's config.xml otherwise you will see the visualizer takes a long time to get up on Windows

  • Satellite P300 - lost the Toshiba tools after upgrade to Win7

    Hello everybody,
    I bought a Windows 7 upgrade to Toshiba.
    And I have 2 DVD :
    1 for the Toshiba upgrade and 1 for the Windows upgrade.
    I have run the 2 first steps without problems.
    But when I have run the 3rd step (which is the upgrade of the Toshiba tools), an error occured and I wanted to cancel thee process (I have even removed the CD from the CD reader) but the process kept running.
    In conclusion the process went to the end but no tools are installed and when I want to run the CD again it acts as if all the tools are already installed and it doesn't run.
    What can I do for the system to consider that the tools are not installed ?
    Or where can I find another install program which will run the Toshiba tools on my system ?

    I have installed Win7 32bit on brothers P300 and all tools and utilities Ive downloaded from Toshiba download page and everything works perfectly.

    SAP expects at least 2 to 3 months for Upgrade and that again depends on project scope and complexity and various other factors.
    STEPS IN TECHNICAL UPGRADE
    • Basis Team will do the prepare activities. (UNIX, BASIS, DBA).
    • Developer need to run the Transaction SPDD which provides the details of SAP Standard Dictionary objects that have been modified by the client. Users need to take a decision to keep the changes or revert back to the SAP Standard Structure. More often decision is to keep the change. This is mandatory activity in upgrade and avoids data loses in new system.
    • After completing SPDD transaction, we need to run SPAU Transaction to get the list of Standard SAP programs that have been modified. This activity can be done in phases even after the upgrade. Generally this will be done in same go so that your testing results are consistent and have more confident in upgrade.
    • Run SPUMG Transaction for Unicode Conversion in non-Unicode system. SPUM4 in 4.6c.
    • Then we need to move Z/Y Objects. Need to do Extended programming check, SQL trace, Unit testing, Integration testing, Final testing, Regression Testing, Acceptance Testing etc.,

  • What's the best way to upgrade FF 3.6.16 to FF 4 and begin using Sync across multiple platforms?

    I love the look and features of FF 4. I recently bought a new laptop for the road and would like to have my FF environment on it --without recreating all of my bookmarks and passwords on it; so it looks like FF4 is the way to go.
    Seems like there are two ways to do this...
    1) Download FF4 to my desktop (curr. running 3.6.16) and hope that it keeps all my personal browsing info as past FF upgrades have, then add-on Sync, create an account, which I can then use on my new laptop w/o having to re-save a lot of bookmarks and organize a bunch of folders.
    -or-
    2) Start using Sync ( or Xmarks? in 3.6.16) on my desktop, create the account and then access that browsing environment on my laptop (running FF4) then upgrade my desktop to FF4.
    Any recommendation as to which works better, or is less painful?
    Anything to watch out for? or steps I've missed?

    When you upgrade it will use your existing user data including bookmarks, passwords, cookies and browsing history.
    I have been using Firefox Sync since it was in an early development stage about 2 years ago. I have gone through a few upgrades to Firefox since then with no problems during the upgrades. I recommend going to Firefox 4 first because Firefox Sync is built into it so there will be no need to install the add-on.
    If required you can downgrade to Firefox 3.6.16

    We have upgraded 7.0 to 7.5 sp04,but we ar having issue with installaing the client and logging in to BPC for Excel. When we install the BPC for Office client or the admin console
    Error  Message : "You do not have authority to install the Planning and
    Consolidation client"
    Then click NEXT  and continue instalaltion
    It appears everything installs,but  when we try to log in to the Admin console   or Ofice Client message occurs
    "The
    system cannot connect to the (http://bpctest.int.XXXX.com) application
    server"

    We are trying to install the patch SP07 , upgrading from SP04.
    have u done a successfull patch with SP06 ?
    One suggestion for ur problem, if u have not done the upgrade Patch by Patch i.e SP03,SP04,SP05,SP06,SP07 i mean if not done cumulatively this could occur
    and donot ignore any prior warning or error messages that appear to continue. SAP has already asked to share the errors if any during the upgradation procedures
    Please let me know how have You solved this or working on

  • Pass transaction data from an InfoProvider to the BPC within BW

    Hi Gurus,
    I need to pass transaction data from an InfoProvider to the BPC Real-Time InfoCube, but I need to do from BW, and not from the BPC Excel interface.
    The reason is that I want to make the whole process in one step, and at the beginning of the process the end-user has to introduce some parameters in the BW, as we are launching the process chain from a transaction.
    Therefor I copied the process chain /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROVIDER and tried to introduce the different parameters that are normally delivered by the prompt in the excel interface.
    Can anybody help? Does anybody know what parameters for each process type have to be introduced, in what form and if all the process types are needed?
    Making it with a normal BW transformation is also not an option, as we don't want to change from plan mode and stop people from planning.
    It is very important for my end user to do everything in one step, without having to enter the BPC Excel interface.

    Hi Frank,
    I have checked and we have many processes in SM50 available for the job to use. Sometimes there are no other jobs running in the BW System except for the 2 jobs but still the 2nd job waits for the first to finish.
    I did another check on transaction code SM58 in BW System. Here it shows all the transactional RFC queues that is being generated by the 2 jobs. I saw that only TRFC queues are able to execute at one time. I am not sure if this is the problem but is it possible to set the number of queues that can be executed at one time to more than 2? If yes, where can I find such a setting?
    This is quite urgent as this problem causes all my jobs to end very late.

    I have done all the pre jobs in the 'Upgrade Guide: Release 11i to Release 12''s character 2 except the 'Prepare for the Upgrade' section.
    In the 'Prepare for the Upgrade's step 3:Step 3 Run Rapid Install (required),it ask me to run Rapid Install wizard
    But i can not understand what use of the action?
    When run rapidwiz,should i close the app and db?or only keep the db running?
    Anyone can help me?

    After run rapidwiz,the dict will change to $AD_top=/U8/TEST/app/testappl/ad/12.0.0 automaticly??No need to create the dicts manualy??

    The process to perform the migration you describe is relatively easy. While note 799058 is relevant, you should first have a look at the System Copy Guide, which applies to your system. These guides can be found on SAP Service Marketplace:

    Click on “Installation”, a new window opens. Check section “Installation - SAP NetWeaver Systems”
    You will see links to system copy guides for Service Release1 and Service Release 2, and separate entries for ABAP only systems, Java only systems and double stacks.
    For example: the SR2 guide for ABAPJava has the title: System Copy for SAP - Systems Based on SAP - NetWeaver 7.0 SR2 - ABAPJava”
    Each of this guides has a brief chapter on copying a MSSQL database. Please carefully read the guide and the SAP notes it refers to. The overall procedure for an ABAP only system will look like this:
    1. Apply note 600027 (change SQL Server collation) to your existing SQL2000 database. You HAVE to perform this step before moving the database to the new hardware.
    2. Prepare your new servers (Windows, SQL2005 installation following the SAP guidance on collation et cetera).
    3. Detach the SQL2000 database from your old system, copy the datafiles to the new machine and attach the database to the new SQL2005 server.
    4. Follow the system copy guide and run sapinst to install the SAP central instance and configure the database.
    Copying the Java stack is a little bit complicated, because you have to create an export of your Java data on your old system first. This is explained in great detail in the system copy guide.
