Urgent - steps need to done, when MS SQL upgraded from 2000 to 2005

SQL server is upgraded from MS SQL 2000 to MS SQL 2005.
Please let me know the steps ned to be performed at XI .

hi satya kiran,
check the below blogs,

The process to perform the migration you describe is relatively easy. While note 799058 is relevant, you should first have a look at the System Copy Guide, which applies to your system. These guides can be found on SAP Service Marketplace:
“Release & Upgrade Info”  “Installation & Upgrade Guides”  “SAP NetWeaver”  “SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s)”
Click on “Installation”, a new window opens. Check section “Installation - SAP NetWeaver Systems”
You will see links to system copy guides for Service Release1 and Service Release 2, and separate entries for ABAP only systems, Java only systems and double stacks.
For example: the SR2 guide for ABAPJava has the title: System Copy for SAP - Systems Based on SAP - NetWeaver 7.0 SR2 - ABAPJava”
Each of this guides has a brief chapter on copying a MSSQL database. Please carefully read the guide and the SAP notes it refers to. The overall procedure for an ABAP only system will look like this:
1. Apply note 600027 (change SQL Server collation) to your existing SQL2000 database. You HAVE to perform this step before moving the database to the new hardware.
2. Prepare your new servers (Windows, SQL2005 installation following the SAP guidance on collation et cetera).
3. Detach the SQL2000 database from your old system, copy the datafiles to the new machine and attach the database to the new SQL2005 server.
4. Follow the system copy guide and run sapinst to install the SAP central instance and configure the database.
Copying the Java stack is a little bit complicated, because you have to create an export of your Java data on your old system first. This is explained in great detail in the system copy guide.

    Hi,
Have you moved the database or the application as well? This sounds like a cloning / autoconfig issue, but it depends on what you have done so far.

  • System freezes when attempting to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion

I hope someone can help me out there.  I have downloaded the Lion upgrade install program and built an install disk on my jump drive using Lion Diskmaker 2.0.2, but when I tried to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion using the jump drive, the install freezes at 24% and I cannot reboot or anything.  It just keeps coming back to the install screen.  Any suggestions?

This could be due to a number of causes. If you have the Lion installer application, then I suggest you put it in your Downloads folder. Now do this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
When you've done the above you should now double-click on the Lion installer application in your Applications folder. When prompted click on the Install button. Note that you will not use the flash drive you made as you shouldn't need it. And, this will avoid any issues with a bad flash drive installer.

  • Need to Re-activate CS4 after upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 (32 bit)

I have a laptop running Vista 32-bit with Lightroom 2.7 and Photoshop CS4 installed.  I'm planning to upgrade the computer from Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 32-bit, upgrading in place to avoid having to reformat and reinstall all the software.  Will Photoshop still be activated after the upgrade or will I need to re-activate it?  If I need to reactivate, will the OS change make the activation process think the software has been moved to a new computer?  It is currently activated on two machines (one of which is this laptop) as it is and don't want the activation wizard to think I'm putting it on third machine in violation of the license.  Should I de-activate it before upgrading the OS and then re-activate once the system upgrade is complete?  After the OS change I plan to upgrade the Adobe software to Lightroom 3 and PS CS5 - does the activation of CS4 even matter in that case?  Anyone done a Vista->Win7 upgrade in place and offer any suggestions?

You are a brave man indeed, John.
An in-place upgrade is still a bad idea though.

  • IMac shuts down when trying to upgrade from Tiger to Leopard

My iMac, purchased in November of '07, came installed with Tiger but also came with a Leopard OS update disk. When trying to upgrade to Leopard last week, every time I rebooted off the disk the computer would run for a minute in the gray screen and then suddenly shut off with no warning message. I checked HD in disk utilities, repaired my permissions and tried again with the same results. I've got 30 gigs of free space and 4 gigs of RAM which should be plenty. I talked to Apple support who walked me through the installation procedure with the same results and ended up shipping me a new install disk which came today. I am getting the same shut down on reboot with their replacement disk. Apple actually sent me two white disks. The first is labeled "For Mac Computers, Mac OSX Install disc 1" The second is labeled "MacBook, Mac OSX Install Disc 2" Since the second disc is label "MacBook" is it possible they sent me the wrong set of discs?
    Thanks

    rk87,
Thanks for replying. I have a 500 gig hard drive which yields a 465gig usable capacity, so, at 30 Gigs available, I don't have 10% of the drive free. This may be an issue, but my more immediate problem is that I can't get the install disk to boot up at all.
I called apple support again see what I could find out about the install disks which wouldn't work. The support guy seemed like he had a lot of knowledge about the system and suggested trying the Tiger install disk (that came with the machine) to see if it would boot up, which it did. After that success, I tried the Leopard update disk in another iMac I have at home and it worked as it should. Since the disk worked fine on the other mac, the guy at tech support speculated that there is some sort of hardware issue causing the install shut down on the computer in question.
His speculation was about the memory installed in the machine which might be the issue. I had bought the computer from an Apple Authorized store here in town who upgraded the RAM to 4GIGs using third-party memory. Even though the memory seems to have functioned properly for the past year, apple support says that there could be some sort of incompatibility with the third party product causing the install disk not to work.
Apple support told me about running a memory diagnostic off of the Tiger install disk by rebooting with the disk in the computer and hold down the "D" key. After I got off the phone I ran the test which turned out to take an hour in its long version. The test indicated no problems, but apple had told me that it might not be totally conclusive. At this point, I'm taking the computer back to the store where I bought it and will let them figure it out.

  • Why am i getting an error when trying to upgrade from 10.7.5 to 10.9

when i try and upgrade from 10.7.5 osx lion to 10.9 i get an error, i have 2GB of memory and 144MB of storage. can someone help?

This would indicate that your MacBook Air does not meet the requirements for Mavericks.
To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
    MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space

  • When/How to Upgrade from Tiger 10.4?

    Hi,
I am wondering when I should be thinking about upgrading to a newer version from 10.4 which I bought a couple of years ago. So a couple of questions:
    1. How often should I be upgrading to newer versions?
    2. If I should upgrade, do I upgrade to the newest version or a later version, i.e. Snow Leopard?
    3. I am about to set up my first external 500GB hard drive, should I do that first, back up the hard drive and then upgrade?
    Thanks for educating me.

    PharmCharm:
Your Intel iMac will support the latest version of OS X Snow Leopard as well as Leopard. I would suggest Snow Leopard, partly because it is easier to obtain and also because it is a serious upgrade from Leopard. It occupies less disk capacity and is a bit faster. It supports 64-bit, if that makes a difference to you. Neither Leopard nor Snow Leopard, support Classic, so if you have apps that need Classic your options are to stay with Tiger, or install OS 9 on an external drive.
How often should I be upgrading to newer versions?
As often as you wish and your hardware will support. Staying current means you have an OS that is supported. The downside is that you may have apps that are not supported in later versions of OS X and you will need to update, if any are available.
If I should upgrade, do I upgrade to the newest version or a later version, i.e. Snow Leopard?
I responded to this earlier. If you have questions about it, please post back.
I am about to set up my first external 500GB hard drive, should I do that first, back up the hard drive and then upgrade?
I think that is a good plan. You should have a good backup before upgrading should things not work out as planned.

  • Screensavers don't work after upgrade from 10.3.9

After upgrading from 10.3.9 my screensavers have not been working. Apple screensavers say looking for slides, and computer name is showing a folder icon and when selected an open file window pops up. All installed 3rd party savers working fine-

Search for "com.apple.screencapture.plist", and toss it. Restart.
In the same folder, if the above fails, look for the "ByHost" folder. Look for all the files similar to "com.apple.screensaver.000a27ae9f06.plist" that do not mention any other application. Toss those. Restart

Youtube videos no longer play after upgrading from Firefox 3.x to the new 4.0.1.
The youtube page loads completely but the video never starts.
Firefox displays the page like its done downloading the video, but no video.

    Hi There
I seem to have experienced the same problem, after applying the APEX 4.0.2 patch, my theme produced errors on the new type of date picker. I use the Bravo theme.
I am now trying to purchase the Delta theme, but unfortunately I see today on the Apex-Themes website that the themes are not available to purchase anymore.
Did you manage to resolve your issue? And do you maybe by any chance know where I can get hold of the Delta theme now?

  • Need Icloud so what is best upgrade from snow leopard

I don't have icloud with Snow Leopard so what is best upgrade from snow leopard. Is there a better way to get Icloud?

Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
