Hi,
We have one plant  it is a service plant  we are providing only service from this plant  now we are making this as sales and service,  so for the sales materail  can u give the steps  or a link  for MRP,  we want  automatic material requirement MRP   for the sale materail so that after MRP  run we can get the requirement details  on consumtion basis.
we have the material master for each material.
regards,
   zafar

Hi...
You need to following steps:
1) Activate MRP in following node:
SPRO->> IMG Activity->> Materials Management ->> Consumption-Based Planning ->> Planning ->> Activate Material Requirements Planning.
2) Maintain Plant Parameters:
SPRO->> IMG Activity->> Materials Management ->> Consumption-Based Planning ->> Plant Parameters->> Carry Out Overall Maintenance of Plant Parameters.
3) You need to maintain the MRP data in Material Mater record.
Maintain MRP Type. IN CBP generaly VB is used.
Maintain Reorder Level.
Lot Size. etc.
4) Maintain MRP areas. If MRP area is plant ONly, then you need not define MRP area. You can run MRP on Plant LEVEL.

  • Steps for implementing PM Order Cost and allocation Report

    Hi experts,
I would like some of the experts to suggest prior steps involved in implementing PM Order Cost and allocation Report?
Is there any specific PM documentatio other then help.sap.com documentation?
    Thank you
    arun

    Hi,
the CO-Sources (and PM is similar there) deliver plan and actual costs in different rows separated with the characteristics 0VTYPE and 0VERSION (this one separating different versions of plan data) in your case you will get in your transactional data:
ServiceOrder   0VTYPE    SWG (i leave the rest of the keys and attributes out)
    SO1000          20             15.000 €   for your plan date
    SO1000          10             10.000 €   that are your actual data
so what wil happen if 0VTYPE is not a Key in your DSO is that first the plan record is updated in DSO and then the second actual record overwrites this value becaus both have the same key SO1000.
You have to define carefully what keys you use in DSO to avoid this. If you can try create a test-Cube on base of the DataSource fields and look how the data are displayed in there because a cube regards all fields as key's.

  • Explaination for background steps in MRP with example

    Dear SAP Guru's,
I received the explaination for below steps in MRP.
But, it wouid be better if i could get the explaination for step 2 with example, step 3 for lot size EX & step 5 also with example.
    1. Check planning File Entry
    2. Net requirements Calculation
    3. Lot size calculation
    4. Scheduling
    5. Source determination
    6. BOM explosion
    1. Check planning File Entry: An entry is made in the planning file as soon as any changes are done to the material which are relevent to MRP. Eg. Changing MRP type, Changing BOM Qty. System checks if there is an entry. chk sample planning file entry in md21.
    2. Net requirements Calculation: It checks the available stock of the materials. Required minus available = net required qty. availability check plays vital role in this.
    3. Lot size calculation: Depending on the lot size maintained in the material master, it groups the materials. eg. If you use lot size as FX(Fixed lot Size) with fixed lot size qty = 100, then system will create pld ord or PR for the material in fixed lot of 100 always.
    4. Scheduling: You can either carry out basic dates scheduling (values taken from MRP 2 view) or Lead time scheduling (values taken from routing) to this the floats are added and scheduling is carried out. By default it is backward scheduling. If the dates are going in past, today scheduling is done.
    5. Source determination: For externally procured materials, you can assign a fixed source (ME01). This vendor is assigned in PR during MRP.
    6. BOM explosion: For dependent requirements calculation, system explodes the BOM and plans the materials.
    Thanks in advance

  • How to configure wokflow for MRP generated  & manually created PR

    Dear Gurus,
I have to customize SAP workflow for releasing Purchase requisitions. I will be using enhancement M06B0001 for my own role resolution.
I have some questions regarding workflow
    1)     How to configure workflow for MRP generated & manually created PR?What are the steps? what are the limitations in doing so?
    2)     Since we are facing the problem of insufficient user license ,How to send notifications to NON SAP users?(We have thought of creating a Z table for the same)
    Looking forward to your reply,
      Thanks in advance,
    Best regards
    Tushar
    SAP MM Consultant

    Dear Mike,
Thanks for your reply, & sorry for not responding on time.
      Here are my constraints:
    1) Not a single component of HR module will be implemented.(Project management decision:-()
    2) Number of user licenses are less, considering the workflow users.(Hence we have thought of creating Z table for employee nos. & EMAIL IDs ,& this table will be accessed by using M06B0001 user exit.(It is still in development phase. Truely speaking, dont know whether it will work or not).If this works out ,then I believe, record from SU01 will not be used (Please correct me here).
3)We have 2 instances on development server.(in short,2 separate installations on same server by creating additional instance). What are the implications of this particular system landscape on workflow? Whether workflow will work or not??:-(, :-(.
The reason I asked you 3rd question is , As soon as 2 nd instance was created on development server, Short Dumps are coming while running transactions of Workflow builder.(SWDD & PFTC).It is giving error" Table is unknown or does not exist". Description of error says"The current program"SAPLSWF3 had to be terminated because one of the statements could not be executed."
"An SAP Open SQL Statement contains a table that does not exist in the database or is not listed in the ABAP Data dictionary. The Table is "SWF_WFPDSC" or another table is accessed in the statement.
    Program=SAPLSWF3
    Include=LSWF3U05
    Row=22
    Module name=SWF_WFP_REPOSITORY_CONTENT_GET
The same dump is coming while accessing SWF_WFPVW table from SE16.
Request to Mike & all of you, help me in this regard.

  • User Exit for MRP

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone guide me on how to activate the User Exit for MRP Run. T.Code MD01.
What are the exits that are to be activated.
    Thanks
    Ashok.N

    Hi
    Hope it will help you.
    *reward if help.*
User exits (Function module exits) are exits developed by SAP. The exit is implementerd as a call to a function module. The code for the function module is written by the developer. You are not writing the code directly in the function module, but in the include that is implemented in the function module.
The naming standard of function modules for functionmodule exits is:
    EXIT_<program name><3 digit suffix>
The call to a functionmodule exit is implemented as:
    CALL CUSTOMER.-FUNCTION <3 digit suffix>
    To find a Exit.
Goto Transaction -- Find The Package
SMOD >f4>Use the Package here to Find the Exits In the Package.
Else if you Want to search by Application Area wise ,
There is one more tab to find the Exits in the Respective Application Area.
Implementing the Exit-- CMOD Create ProjectsAssgn your Component .
Now Run ur Transaction to Check if it Triggers.
    Thats it..
Suppose you need to find out all the user exits related to a tcode.
    1. Execute the Tcode.
    2. Open the SAP program.
    3. Get the Development Class.
    4. Execute Tcode SE84.
    5. Open the Node 'Envir. -> Exit Techniques -> 'Customer Exits -> Enhancements'
    6. Enter the Development class and execute.
    Check out this thread..
The specified item was not found.
    1. Type the transaction : system->status-> <PROG. NAME>
2 open SE37 , type EXIT<PROG NAME> and press F4 to get the list of function exits available.
    3. Open CMOD utilities->SAP enhancements
    EDIT->All selections
4.type the function module name obtained in step 2, in fields 'component name' in 'additional selections' block. and execute.
    5. The displayed list contains the enhancements names for the transaction You were looking for.
    6. Create a project in CMOD and the code in default include->activate.

    ThanksHi,
Active dataguard is option after configuring dataguard.
You can put standby database in Open(read only) mode also you can enable Recover(MRP) while open so this can be used for reporting purpose too.
Please refer below links for configuring them.

They might thing itu2019s a extra work for them, also guide the client side questionnaire and the pre steps to implement & Configure MRP in the factory. It would be so helpful if u reply. Thanks for ur efforts and time.

Materials planning is one of the key of good inventory control systems. The objective of materials planning is to monitor stocks to ensure material availability. As a leader in ERP software, SAP R/3 also has a special materials planning function that works like and even better than other inventory control software. With materials planning in SAP, we can determine automatically which material is required, the quantity required and when it is required. By doing so, we can prevent lacking of materials when we need it.
Materials planning in SAP can automatically create procurement proposals for purchasing and production (planned orders, purchase requisitions or delivery schedules). This target is achieved by using various materials planning methods which each cover different procedures.
For details google SAP MRP and you can get much material written about it.
Following steps need to be follow for configuring MRP
    1. Plant Parameters for MRP (SPRO)
    2. MRP type (MM)
    3. MRP controller (MM)
    4. Procurement Type(MM)
    5. Special Procurement Type if applicable (MM)
    6. Lot Sizing Procedure (MM)
    7. Scheduling Margin Key(MM)
    8. Scheduling Parameters for planned orders through (SPRO)
    Detail:
    1. Activate Plant Parameters for MRP(in SPRO)
    2. MRP Type Customization(E.g, PD, M1,M2,, -in SPRO - But need not suposed to do without client's permission)
    3. MRP Controller (in SPRO)
    4. Production Scheduler Profile (in SPRO)
    5. Order type Dependent Paremeters(in SPRO)
    6. Plant Parematers(in SPRO)
    7. Scheduling Parameters(in SPRO)

  • Issue on Number Range for MRP Purchase Requisition

    Hi Gurus,
Please help me on the issue explained below.
We are already using SAP ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0 and now we are implementing Plant Maintenance Module. As a result of this implementation ,we have created number of PR document types and assigned to unique number ranges in ECC. One of these document types has been maintained for MRP group for a material type in order to identify the MRP purchase requisitions created on the shortage of the materials for these material types.
This functionality is working fine. MRP run for the materials is picking the appropriate PR document but number range of the document is not the same what was assigned to the linked document type. Some other number series is getting picked by system .
There is setting under SPRO Consumption Based PlanningNumber RangesPurchase Requisitions
Here, number range assignment is against plant. This is the same number range which is being taken by system on running MRP. But the desired number range is the one which has been linked to PR document type.
If I change the number range above then number range for MRP PR in present system will get affected..
Can you please advise me on above so that PR generated on MRP run should have appropriate number range?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Niti

    Hi,
As per my understanding, what you have mentioned above is exactly the way SAP is designed. Its SAP Standard behaviour.
But if you check your PR document type - no:range & the CBP no:range both will be same only since both refers to the same object.
Please check the PR document type that you have assigned in the CBP & its no:ranges.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ram

  • Give me the Configuration steps  for intercompany billing and third party s

    Hi Gurus,
Give me  the Configuration steps  for intercompany billing and third party sales and give me a brief description with examples.
    Regards,
    YSR

    Dear YSR
    Check the links
    [Cross Company Configuration|http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/500/Documentation/J62_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_DE.doc]
    [Third Party Without Shipping Notification|http://help.sap.com/bestpractices/BBLibrary/html/J55_ThirdPartyWOSN_EN_US.htm]
Third party order processing is as follows:
    Assume three companies X, Y and Z
    X - The company,
    y - The customer
    Z - Vendor
When ever X gets a PO from Y to supply some goods, X has an option of either manufacturing those goods or procuring those goods.
If he is procuring the goods, there are two methods that are generally followed:
    Method 1)
After receiving the PO from Y, X creates a sales order against Y.
Now at the same time he also creates a PO to a vendor Z to produce the goods
Z produces the goods and supplies to X
X receives the goods from Z
Then X delivers the same goods to Y.
    After that X invoices Y and Z invoices X.
Note : Here there is no direct/ Indirect relation between Z and Y.
This process is known as Trading Process. and the Material here is created  with Material type HAWA.
The other method is a Third party order processing method:
Here the glaring difference is that instead of Z supplying the material to X and X in turn supplying the same material to Y.
X authorizes Z to supply the material to Y on his behalf and notify him once the delivery is complete.
Now Z supplies the material to Y and acknowledges the same to X.
Z  will send a copy of delivery acknowledgement and invoice to X.
After receiving the delivery confirmation and invoice from Z, X has to verify the invoice and this process is known as invoice verification and is done in SAP through Tcode MIRO.
The next step for X  is to create an invoice and submit to Y
Only after the invoice verification document is posted  then only X can create an invoice for Y.
This is the business flow that is followed for third party order configuration.
There are few steps that have to be configured to enable the system to function as mentioned above.
    Step1)
If you are always followwing a third party process for a material then you have to create the material using item category group BANS.
The procument type should be marked as External procurement (F) in MRP 2 view of the material master record.
if you are not always allowing third party order processing then u can create a material master record with item category group as NORM and the procurement type should be marked as ( X) meaning both types of procurment ( in house manufacturing and external procurement).
    Step 2)
the item category in the order should be manually changed as TAS.
For that you need to confugure the item category determination
ord type + item cat grp + usge + Hiv level = Item cat + Manual item cat
    OR + NORM +      +       = TAN . + TAS
    OR + BANS +       +       = TAS
    Step 3)
make sure that during the item category configuration for TAS  you need to mark relevnat for billing indicator as F
    Step 4)
The schedule line cateogry for this type should be CS.
make sure that you mark  subsequent type as NB - purchase requisition  in this schedule line category as this will trigger the purchase requision order immediately after the creation of the sales order and the PO to vendor is created against this purchase requiesion.
    thanks

  • Customization step for in  New Plant  in production planning.

    Dear Experts,
Thanks for your continues support from SCN.
My company having one of the production process unit.
Already some plants (1000 ) are assign the process order customization. But currently include  one additional plant  ( 1001) for process manufacturing.
Basically create order type, production scheduler, production scheduling profile these are all the main thing, other wise what are all the assignment to be ensure , create and followed.Kindly send me the customization step for each assignment in our new plant.
( order creation to end of the account settlement itself)
I am waiting for your valuable feedback.

    Hi Anil,
if all master data configuration is over in the new plant, you can proceed to crteate the required cofiguration for new plant.
if your production process is similar across all plants then you can simply copy all the required things from your old plants, or if the process is different in the new plant you have to configure the required settings.
as you asked what are required settings apart from Basically create order type, production scheduler, production scheduling profile these are all the main thing,
apart from above things. actually the configuration is depends on your Production process which you Follow in your business. as standard process starts from Configuration od SOP And Transfering Demand To MRP and Running MRP then executing the results of mrp in this case we need to configure  SOP And MRP Settings First then remaining Production process configuration.
can you give the details of your PRoduction process then we can discuss the sequence of required configuration.
    Thanks&Regards,
    Venkat.

  • F4 help for MRP Controller not adjacent to Plant

    Hello Dear all,
I need F4 help for MRP controller on selection screen but only valid values for the plant value entered in the selection screen
If select option for Plant and MRP controller are one below the other on selection screen, then F4 help for MRP controller gives relevant values ony for that Plants entered.
But if they are not adjacent to each other F4 help for MRP controller gives all possible values. In such a case should we code separately for F4 help of MRP controller.
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks and regards,
    Mohit

    >That means F4 help will suppose to come automatically, but it's not providing the F4 functionality on the Time field. It's sounds like a bug in Web dynpro ABAP.
No, this is normal. There is no time value help in Web Dynpro ABAP.
    From the online help:
There is no automatic F4 help for data element TIMS.

  • Best practice for MRP

    Hi,
does someone know where to get a best practices about running MRP or has a good tutorial?
I have setup my material database ( e.g. MRP 1,2,3,4 tabs) but am not really sure how to continue.
    I'm a little bit confused in which order I have to execute the transaction e.g. MD20 / MDAB, MD01/MDBT, MD15, MD05, etc.!?
Could someone help me just a little bit
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Steps sequence which you have written is correct one.
1)MD20 (Manual Planning File Entry Maintain / MDAB (Background job) :- This is the first step which system checks during total Planning run.System considers only those materials for which entry is maintain over here. But there is no need to maintain manual planning file entry each time.If your plant is activated(T.code OMDU)  for MRP then system will take care of this means entry will managed automatically by the system.but for safty side you can use MDAB for the scheduled maintenance of planning file.
    2) MD01 - Total Planning.
    3) MD15 - you can convert Planned orders to PR by this code in Mass.
    4) MD05 - Its report only and saw the result of last MRP run.

    Dhaval
