Steps to patch OIM application

Hi All,
I want patch my OIM 9.1.0.2 OIM application to patch BP19.
Can anybody direct for doucments that lists steps as how to patch OIM application.

why don't you use the patch document(readme). extract your downloadables of BP19 and follow the patch document for all required steps . This will be easy for you
follow the steps from 3.2 "Upgrading the Oracle Identity Manager Database" onwards

I have seen similar error on forum but it has not been answered.
I have set all variables correctly and the directory has all permissions as well.

Thanks for your help.
The directory was already created during patch execution.
My error was related to MDS password.
The password for mds was different from OIM password so the patch errored out.
Once the mds password was updated correctly in the profile file, the patch executed successfully.

Patching OIM 11.1.1.5.3 to 11.1.1.5.6 Question

I would like to only patch my OIM 11.1.1.5.3 to OIM 11.1.1.5.6.

Looking into the downloaded zip, I see patches for the following:
- OIM 11.1.1.5.6
- OAM 11.1.1.5.5
- OES 11.1.1.5.4
- OAAM 11.1.5.2
In my environment I have OIM and OAM. Is it a requirement to patch OAM if I patch OIM to 11.1.1.5.6?

If you are applying patch set for OIM ie from OIM 11.1.1.5.3 to OIM 11.1.1.5.6, it is not required to apply patch to OAM. OIAm products are certified in release level not in patch set level.

Stop OIM application from a script

Is there a way to shut down the OIM application server manually from a script, without going through the admin console?

Yes you can.
I saw that when we install oim with weblogic 8.1 then it doesn't create Stop Script. We have to create such scripts manually. .If you ggogle then you'll find lots of threads for the same.

Steps to deploy Wireless application to 10G application Server

I have a simple application developed using XForms/XHtml/JSP using JDeveloper Wireless Extension.
I have been able to test the application in embedded OC4J in JDeveloper but I want to deploy this application in 10G application Server installed on another Server.
Can anyone provide me the steps to deploy Wireless Application to the 10G Server.

Logon to the webtool (http://oraclemidtierhost:port/webtool/login.uix) and click on the 'services' tab. Here you can add an application. Using the content tab you can publish your application to the wireless portal.
After clicking on the content tab click on Access Control Content to give your user groups access to certain applications.
Test your applications using the device portal entrypoint:

I have installed oracle apps on my personal computer on linux which is directly connected to internet with a home internet connection.(without any proxy). MS VS 2008 post install step; Oracle patch 9491976 failed while relinking

I am installaing R12.1 on Windows 2008 Enterprise (SP1) server with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and cygwin as pre requisite softwares. The installation has got completed and I was even able to run a test concurrent program successfully.
Now, as part of post installation step (MS Visual Studio 2008 and Visual C++ 2008 Express for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 on Windows [ID 1070674.1]) applied the patch 9491976 and it error's out with relinking error.
All the relinking of the executables has failed in that patch and below is the gist of one such error message,

Installing patches on application tier before moving to linux

Also, make sure you have all pre-req packages installed as per these docs.

Appearence of white patches when application is launched by Acrobat 8.0

Hi All,
When I launch an application(scanner) from acrobat 8.0(createPDF->From Scanner) I can see some white patches on the application but this doesn't happens when scanner is launched as standalone application.
Can any one faced this problem?

You print to the Adobe PDF printer using the PDF Port. That is how AcroTray notes the file that is produced and starts Distiller. Printing to file with the Adobe PDF printer and then opening in Distiller is the base line of PDF creation that all other methods depend on. If this one does not work, then you have a problem. If you can print to file, then open the file in Distiller to get a PDF, then it is typically AcroTray that is the problem. Sometimes you have to kill AcroTray and then restart it.
It sounds like you may need to do a repair on the Acrobat installation. That is done from the control panel. In XP it is in the Add-Remove Programs. It was moved to another icon name in VISTA. It seems MS and Adobe both like to move things around and rename them!
You say you get an error when you check the print-to-file button, or at least that is what I think you said. Is that correct, or were you able to get a PDF with Distiller? Some folks have also found the need to do a repair after a Windows update. You might also want to look at the subversion you have. AA8 is up to either 8.1.7 or 8.2. You can check in the help file and then download any updates from Adobe.com>downloads>updates>Windows Acrobat. Be sure you install any updates in order, they are no cummulative unless it specifically says so.

Send Synchronous step in BPM - showing application error in sxmb_moni

We have a cc bpm in which we have a send - syncrhonous step - a call to an external webservice and synchronously getting a response back.
Now, owing to a application condition when invoking the webservice , the response received after being mapped back into the BPM, the status is set is being set to application error ( without a restart ) in sxmb_moni and the bpm gets a response in the fault structure from the webservice
My understanding is that the web service implementation sets this application error status after sending the appropriate response in the fault structure . We want the cc BPM to continue to the next step - which is - taking this response in the fault structure from this webservice and communicating it out - in another send step.
But owing to the application error in the synchronous send step , the BPM instance stops right there without proceeding to the next send step - after this ?
How do we make the cc BPM not stop after getting the fault response and the application error ?

Insert an Exception Branch by rightclicking on the block and choose insert.
In the send step under Exceptions you can point to the created exception branch.
In the exception branch you can now handle what to do when it fails.

Patching Oracle Application Server

Hi, I'm trying to patch my Oracle Application Server that's going to be running a PeopleSoft softare installation. I've been having trouble making sure I have all the patches I need. I'm running version 10.1.3.1 of the Oracle Application Server. I downloaded the patches recommended by the PeopleSoft guides and the latest security patch supported by version 10.1.3.1. If your wondering why I'm using such an old version, it's simply because its the latest version the PeopleSoft guiddes certify as supported.
So I have these patches, and I searched on metalink for Oracle Application Server, iAS version 10.1.3.1.0 and there were no other recommended patches. However, I notices the patches I already installed weren't under the list of patches for OAS, not even when I searched under classification any. That's when I realized that the patches that PeopeSoft recommends are listed under Containers for J2EE version 10.1.3.1.0, which is why it wasn't coming up in the search. Now I thought Containers for J2EE were part of the Oracle Application Server, so why don't patches for it show up when I simply search for OAS patches? Is there any was to find all the recommended patches for all software that was installed with OAS? I feel like I may be missing important patches
One wrinkle is that I used the SOA 10.1.3.1.0 CD to install OAS, but I used the option for "J2EE Server and Web Server" without installing the SOA appllications. The only reason I did this was again because this is how the PeopleSoft install guide showed installing OAS.

Dont worry about not install the SOA products, because you dont need them, at the end the patches will upgrade only the necesary.
You may try to dowload 10.1.3.4 patch, it include the previus patches and newers.

We are using GTC ,I have removed the dependency and imported but first time when I have done that I was unable to replace the old table name with new one in process definition ,second time when I have done that the import was successful but it created 2 instances for same application like(AD1,AD1) when trying to provision the application and the provisiniong is failing for both giving the message you don't have rights to do this .
