Patching OIM 11.1.1.5.3 to 11.1.1.5.6 Question

I would like to only patch my OIM 11.1.1.5.3 to OIM 11.1.1.5.6.
Patch Number: 14760839
Bundle Name: Oracle Identity Management Suite BP patch of 11.1.1.5.2
Looking into the downloaded zip, I see patches for the following:
- OIM 11.1.1.5.6
- OAM 11.1.1.5.5
- OES 11.1.1.5.4
- OAAM 11.1.5.2
In my environment I have OIM and OAM. Is it a requirement to patch OAM if I patch OIM to 11.1.1.5.6?

If you are applying patch set for OIM ie from OIM 11.1.1.5.3 to OIM 11.1.1.5.6, it is not required to apply patch to OAM. OIAm products are certified in release level not in patch set level.

I have set all variables correctly and the directory has all permissions as well.

Thanks for your help.
The directory was already created during patch execution.
My error was related to MDS password.
The password for mds was different from OIM password so the patch errored out.
Once the mds password was updated correctly in the profile file, the patch executed successfully.

Steps to patch OIM application

Hi All,
I want patch my OIM 9.1.0.2 OIM application to patch BP19.
Can anybody direct for doucments that lists steps as how to patch OIM application.

why don't you use the patch document(readme). extract your downloadables of BP19 and follow the patch document for all required steps . This will be easy for you

I am patching OIM 11.1.1.5.0 to 11.1.1.5.3 using patch number 13704894. I am getting the below error while doing the post install script patch_oim_wls.sh

Hi,
This error is due to incorrect JAVA_HOME. Use correct JAVA_HOME before running patch_oim_wls.sh script. setenv PATH <JAVA_HOME>/bin:$PATH.

If you go to your xellerate/config folder and look at the Version.props file, this is what is put into the XSD table. You should be able to search metalink to find this value. If not, you might need to download the other bundle patches and check this file to see the version, but it should be available in the searchs.

Problem while applying BP02 for OIM 11.1.1.5.0

We have OIM-OAM integrated environment enabled with ldapsynch (OID/OVD). We are applying BP02 for OIM 11.1.1.5.0. We followed all the steps provided in the read me doc.
1. Running latest Opatch
2. Setting the environement variables
3. Configuring Weblogic.profile
4. Applying SOA patch 13106312
5. Applied OIM patch 13399365
6. Running patch_weblogic.sh
But while doing the 6th step "Running patch_weblogic.sh" we are facing below exception.

OIM 11.1.1.5.3 vs Siebel Connector log

Hi all,
I have a problem with OIM Siebel connector log file.
More in details: since I patched OIM from the version 11.1.1.5.0 to the 11.1.1.5.3 one (BP03 - patch ID 14891027), the Siebel Connector stops to log its normal operations (except errors).
Obviously I didn't change the Siebel Connector log configuration between two versions.

I had a liitle progress here. For the missing mandatory fields, once you are done the mapping during the creation of GTC, go to Design Console to add mandatory fields, such as user type which is not available in the creation process of GTC. Please see:

Now actually I have exactly the same proplem as this one:

OIM 11g: Error After starting OIM server :retrieving database connection

After patching OIM 11.1.1.5.0 to BP02 I am getting following error in logs of OIM and not able to see Import Deployment Manager File and..continuously this error bounce back

Earlier before patching to BP02 in weblogic Datasources we have
Driver Class Name: oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource
But when I was providing this value in weblogic.profile during patching attribute name "operationsDB.driver=oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource ", I am getting this error
/data/oim/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_IDM1/server/setup/deploy-files/setup.xml:204: java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource cannot be cast to java.sql.Driver
So I changed this value to "operationsDB.driver=oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver" and it runs fine. Patch completed successfully.
Is there any issue with this Driver Class Name mismatch, so I am getting this error? I have also tried for all Datasources same Driver Class Name but invain.

Nothing is changed between network/firewall. From Database machine I am able to see tnsping running fine. From weblogic admin console I have checked the connectivity of different datasource is successfull. Right now I have these datasources, all have Driver Class Name=oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver.

Check with Oracle. We had issues applying BP04. The BP02 patch might not have been tested by Oracle for windows properly.
Also, If you are invoking patch_weblogic.bat then check if patch_oim_wls.profile reflects your environment settings.

How to use windows authentication to MSSQL2008 from oim running in Linux

Hi All,
We have developed the code (in eclipse) in local windows machine to call sample stored procedures in MSSQL.The code works fine from client and are able to create, update users in MSSQL from windows.
We have OIM 11g R2 installed in Linux 6 on local VM. The question is while building the jar from the code and placing it in Java task directory of OIM, calling thr Code we need sql.dll file to implement the windows authentication(no user name & pwd) to connect to MSSQL, but this is not possible in Linux since the jar don't support.
Can any one please give suggestions on this to implement windows authentication from Linux through OIM server.

Sending email notification using email template in OIM 11g

HI all
I want to send an email to the user in OIM 11 g using API's
I have created a email template using oim 11g's design console.
now i want to access that email template from design console and send mail to user.
previously in OIM 9i there was class com.thortech.xl.dataobj.util.tcEmailNotificationUtil;
which was having utilities method like send-email etc.where we were able to access the email template from design console and send mail to user.
I want such API's to send mail to user in OIM 11g.Iam unable to find the tcEmailNotificationUtil class in OIM 11g;
