Still only able to burn to cd/rw
I was able to get iTunes rolled back to 6.0(17) which had worked for me in the past but it didn't resolve the non-burning of purchased/downloaded music.
I noticed that quicktime was upgraded to 6.5.3 at about the same time. Is this related? I am unable to get back to 6.5.2. I noticed that there are some versions of 7 that can get downgraded to 6.5.x but I can't get up to 7 since I am running jag.
Any ideas?

As was suggested in a different thread, I cut and pasted the results of the diagnostic test. For the record, I am using Dynex CD-R's. Is this an inferior quality blank CD? Here was diagnostic results:

When I installed itunes into my old computer (loaded with Windows Vista) it deleated my CD burner and would only allow me to burn via itunes - I had to go in to Best Buy to have them fis the problem but was told not to download new updates for itunes or it would do the same. with this fix I am not able to burn CDs from itunes which is a bummer. If I download itunes onto my new computer (loaded with Windows 7) is it going to do the same thing or has this problem been resolved?
Copy them from your old computer, or your backuo copy of your old computer. to your new one.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. the exception is itunes purchases. -
Why am I only able to browse the free category of books in ibooks

Would anyone able to advise me why am I only able to browse only the free category of books on my ip4? I tried to delete my ibooks, re-install but i'm still only able to browse the free category of books. There is no noticable button/icon for me to click to change for the paid category.

I used to be able to burn a selection of photos from my iPhoto library onto a CD-R disc. Today I inserted a new blank disc and was shown a message that there was insufficient space for my chosen year of photos. Even when I reduced the date to include only ONE photo!- the message was the same. I am at a loss as to why, and what to do. My iMac is about 7 years old and upgraded to Snow leopard. Any bright ideas?

If DVD Movies, Audio CD's and even burning CD and DVD's are not supported, what is the point of DVD & CD Sharing then? Wouldn't it just be better to remote in or use a thumb drive if it's only able to be used for data transfer?
Or am I missing the bigger picture?As long as you have a Superdrive or an external burner/drive, burning, watching, installing, etc. from CD or DVD will work just fine. And so will sharing.

Is there anyway to have an 11 inch mac air connected to an external monitor with lid closed and still be able to see content. I have a wireless ketboard and mouse and have tried everything. Only works when plugged in.
You are referring to a feature called Clamshell Mode, please read Clamshell Mode setup for instructions.
BTW when posting when you use generalities such as "have tried everything" this tells us nothing. When posting please be specific and try to paint a complete picture. It just makes things easier for those trying to help you. -
Converting to MP3 Format, yet still not being able to Burn to MP3 CD
Bit of an odd one this - I have converted Music Tracks to MP3 Format, yet when it comes to burning an MP3 Disc, only half of them appear with a Box stating: *'The file could not be burned to MP3 CD. Only files that are already in MP3 Format may be burned to MP3 CD.'*

Since yesterday I'm unable to send emails on any of my Apple devices. The revert is that I have exceeded the maximum number of emails per day, but I had only sent out 24 with no bulk emailing - (much less than 1000 recipients as per the website) and I'm STILL not able to send emails. Only one of my devices is compatible with iCloud. If I update that device (my iMac which is OS 10.7.4) will I still be able to get just emails on my old iPhone classic? At the moment I have just updated to icloud 'emails only'!
Oh, ok. When I moved over I clicked the 'not all my devices are compatible' button and was told that I would continue to get my emails only. Perhaps I'l now be brave and click the “Complete Your Move to iCloud” alert - and see what happens. Many thanks for your help

I have installed and reinstalled iTunes several times. I am still getting an error that there is no disc burning software found and the computer keeps telling me to reinstall iTunes - it says that there is other burning software that is interferring but I haven't installed anything lately. I was able to burn discs on the earlier version. Now what?

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

I am no longer able to burn a CD in iTunes
I am not able to burn a proper CD any more. I have used iTunes before successfully to do this. But lately it will appear to be burning just fine, but if I take the disc out of the disc drive and then put it back in again, iTunes will claim I've inserted a blank disc. I've been hunting all over the support pages for answers and have run out of ideas.
Things I know and/or have tried already:
a) I know that I can only burn from playlists.
b) I know that I need to keep the playlists short enough to fit on a CD
c) I know that I need to have it set to burn as an Audio CD. I tried a Data CD once, but it doesn't play on a CD player.
d) I know that I am limited in how many times I burn a playlist that has items on it purchased from the iTunes store--7 times.
e) There is nothing wrong with my CD drive. I have tested it, and did "Run Diagnostics" under iTunes Help. I can burn in other programs if I need to. I did however, uninstall some of those programs to be sure they weren't in conflict. Still it didn't work.
f) I have the latest iTunes for Windows. I actually uninstalled iTunes completely, and then downloaded it fresh.
g) I have the lastest Service Pack on my computer.
h) I read that sometimes trying to burn at a slower speed works--I tried but got the same results.
i) I tried "repairing the iTunes installation". No help there.
j) Everything that I'm trying to burn IS authorized on my computer. It is the only computer I use iTunes on.
I don't know what else to try! I feel like I've tried it all. I even asked at an Apple Retail Store, but they just told me to do the same things I've already tried. Does anyone out there know the secret??? User has appropriate permission, still not able to access one of the sharepoint site applications.

I have tried all solutions available on internet regarding this problem but none seems to work.
As per one solution I added the user in sharepoint site collection administrator group still no luck!
As per another solution I tried to run “User Profile Service Application Proxy – User Profile to SharePoint Full Synchronization”
“User Profile Service Application Proxy – User Profile to SharePoint Quick Synchronization”
but they dont run for some reason. Both these jobs are scheduled to run everyday but last time they ran was some date in 2011. When I click on Run Now nothing happens.
I deleted all cache, forms password history everything. Added the site in trusted sites and all. No luck!
User also tried to access the site by logging onto another system but still same issue.
This user recently joined alongwith a few more people. All of them are able to access the site except this particular user. So, a web part or unpublished page cant be the reason, right?
This user is only able to access the home page which is say http://<siteurl:1234> application while the site which this user is not able to access is
http://<siteurl:2345>.
I even tried to give access through sharepoint designer but no luck! Please help!
PS: This may not be relevant but still I'm sharing. Earlier I used to add users in manage user profiles - new profile. But now as soon as the user is added into active directory there profile is getting created automatically. This might be happening due to
active directory and user profile sync but the question is how? Because I dont remember configuring this. And it was not configured earlier too.Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that only one user cannot access the site even though he has the right permission.
I recommend to verify the things below:
Check the permission of the user in the site to see if the permission is right.
Is http://<siteurl:2345> a new site collection ? Can the user access other pages except the home page in
http://<siteurl:1234>?
Grant needed permission to the user in the web application to see if the issue still occurs.
Delete the user and re-add the user in AD to see if the issue still occurs.
Check the ULS log for detailed error message.

I have had Firefox for a few years and have been very satisfied with all of it's features and qualities. I work a great deal from home and have always enjoyed the convenience of being able to work off of 3 or 4 Firefox screens at one time. By pulling up one screen over the other and then go back and forth (as I still am able to do with Internet Explorer), saves a lot of time and NEEDLESS effort.
Since your latest update the other day, I am now only able to get that 1 screen and no matter how many times I click on the Firefox Icon on my icon screen, no other Firefox screens will come up. I am stuck with that 1 screen...
PLEASE HELP!!!! I have also lost my Yahoo search tool bar due to your upgrade, as well as several others which I cannot seem to retrieve.
Thank you so Very much in advance for addressing and correcting this error.Since I upgraded to Firefox 19 from 18.0.2, on my Windows XP (SP3) laptop, I, too, can no longer open a new window. File-->New Window does nothing; also can no longer tear off a tab and open it in a new window (it stays where it is). Also, if I right-click on a tab and select Move to New Window, nothing happens. All of these worked fine in FF 18.0.2. All of these work fine with FF 19 on Windows 7. Only an issue on my XP laptop.
After trying to open a new window, and not seeing the new window come up (and yes, I waited a long time), I decided to close my current window, which had multiple tabs open. Instead of just closing, it pops up the message reminding me that I'm about to close all those tabs. If I say close, and then go into the Task Manager, the Firefox application has disappeared (as expected), but the firefox (and plug-in container) processes are still running. So I have to manually kill the Firefox process to get it to quit. it's as if it thinks there is another Window open (the one I tried to open but never appeared). This happens every single time! I've restarted my laptop, and that does not resolve the problem.
Is there a way to downgrade back to v 18.0.2 until this is fixed? -
Would I still be able to fun Final Cut Pro with no problem with the new 13"
My old MBP has "NVIDIA GeForce 860M GT with 128MB" and the new 13-inch MBP has "NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics" I don't really know what "GT" means, but the more expensive MBP's listed have it, so I'm guessing it's pretty good. I was wondering if I'd still be able to fun Final Cut Pro quickly if I got the new 13-inch MBP.

And that's the part that BoyHowdy pointed out that you are "a little incorrect" about. While it's true that they both have an onboard 9400M graphics chip, you are overlooking the fact that the 15" & 17" MBPs also have the much more powerful and dedicated 9600M GT graphics card. This is not an insignificant difference. Final Cut Pro, not to be confused with Final Cut Express (not you, others have confused the two), requires a dedicated card which the 15" & 17" MBPs have in the form of the additional 9600M GT, but the 13" still lacks.
The specs on the Final Cut Pro page are a little confusing because while it says it *will not work* with integrated graphics, it specifically refers to Intel, and does not mention Nvidia. However, it still says it requires an AGP or PCI Express card, which the 9400M is not.
My feeling is that even if it runs, the performance of Final Cut Pro on that system will be unacceptable, and will ultimately drive you mad. It really pushes the graphics systems hard, and despite their vast improvement over the pathetic Intel onboard graphics systems, the 9400M is still pretty anemic for high end work. You're better off saving a little more money and getting the low end 15" model. Not to mention, the extra screen real estate makes a huge difference with the very crowded Final Cut Pro UI.
