Hello,
i want to write a simple mail program as java application with which I am able to connect to a SMTP Server and write a mail with a receiver and a sender. Has anybody here some good advice or explanation how I can realize that?

EXE file with STMP mail

Hi guys,
I ran into a problem that I don't understand and I would really appreciate someone's expertises getting in.
I've developed a VI (let's call it a 'Main.VI') that has more than 100 subVIs. Among the subVIs, there are numerous 'STMP Email Send Message.VI's. What this whole program does is that it first reads raw data from a data logger, goes through a data processing/reduction program, saves reduced data into a folder, and then sends only reduced data files to the users on timely basis (e.g. every hour, once a day, once a week...) - this is where 'STMP email send message.VI' comes in play.
I plan on running this 'Main.VI' as a service (in background). So I made an exe file out of this 'Main.VI'. Now, here comes an odd part. Before I made a exe file, everything works fine (it saves data and send reduced files to users). However, when I make and run the exe file, the email thing does NOT work. The strange thing is that everything else works fine but I can not get the email stuff to work.
Does anyone have any idea why it's happening? Any suggestions?
Does Labview limit the usage of STMP email.VI when a normal VI is turned into an exe file?

Thanks for your help. To anwer your question first, No I'm not using 'current vi's path'. The location of my 'Main.VI' and the file folders are different (e.g, 'C:\....\desktop\Main.VI.' and 'C:\temp\data file folder'). I will once again try to explain how the program works.
1. 'Main.VI' collects/reduces/processes raw data and save the reduced data hourly into 'data file folder'.
2. When it reaches a certain time limit (e.g. 1day, 1week, 1 month,..etc), it will send a notification to a subVI and this subVI will do some processing/saving and send a reduced file to users via email.
Again, before I make an exe file, everything works the way I programmed. After building an exe, however, everything else works fine except the email.
I included a screen shot of a portion of block diagram for this subVI.

Yahoo mail server Cannot Connect :iphone 4 ios6

Hi it looks like a lot of problems with the BT YAHOO Mail on iphone
i can get all my BT Yahoo mail no problem on internet.
BUT now i cannot get any mail on my iphone using the mail App.
it worked perfect until i updated to ios6
ive tried
stmp.mail.yahoo.com
apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com
nothing works
IT SAYS "Cannot connect to the server"
Please some one help me solve this problem.

I was also having lots of issues over the last two days, but found an easy fix...
1) Go to Settings
2) Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3) Choose your Yahoo account
4) Hit your Account name at the top
5) Check you password... my password was not right -- don't know if it was remembered as an old one or if it was just dorked up altogether, but I corrected it and now everything is fine.

Issues with mail when I have to change my yahoo password

Hello
I am having problems with mail on my mac.
1) For some time I have been unable to send photos by email from iphoto. When I try to do this it says 'the email server didn't recognise your username/password combination'. I'm not sure how to fix this.
2) I just had to change my yahoo account password today and now I am frequently getting a box up that says 'The SMTP server "stmp.mail.yahoo.com" rejected the password for user "my email address". Enter your password again or cancel.
It doesn't matter if I enter the new password or the old one - I am having this message keep popping up.
I would appreciate help with this.

New ipad - trying to get yahoo mail to work but it keeps saying yahoo server unavailable.....any ideas?

I have set up my yahoo email account on my new ipad but can't get it to work - the error message says yahoo server unavailable which I find hard to believe! Can anyone help me please?

I checked the settings as per your link above and I have them set up correctly on my ipad (I have yahoo plus). That is to say I have added the plus.stmp.mail.yahoo.com as an outgoing server with the server port 465 but it still doesn't work.
Annoyingly, I also took the advice of some earlier posts and changed my yahoo password and now I can't get email on my iphone 4 either - it was working perfectly before. I put in the new password and now both the ipad and iphone give me the "server unavailable" message. Grrrrrr....

!yahoo mail not working on droid 2 global!

I tried deleting the account on my droid and then reinstalling it and it won't reinstall. I get the message "Login to the account failed, please try again." I went into yahoo on a laptop changed my password and tried again, still not working... I'm working on wi-fi because I don't get good reception in my home.

I don't have a droid 2 global (I have a bionic) but I was suffering from the same problems after I received a replacement. Luckily after suffering for a month (i resorted to using the Yahoo mail app for a while, but I couldnt stand it), I finally fixed mine and I thought I'd share in case it might help you guys.
1. I went to "My Accounts", clicked on the "Email" option,
2. Entered in my Yahoo information, unclicked the check that says "automatically configure account"
3. Under Incoming server, select "IMAP mail server" from the drop down menu, and in the server name, put "imap.mail.yahoo.com"
4. Under Outgoing server, put "stmp.mail.yahoo.com"
5. Click OK, and hopefully all of your emails will suddenly work like mine (No more of the "Login to the account failed, please try again")

WI-FI - Palm TX - and Mail

Hi all,
I shall start with maybe an apology, but I did not find my answer anywhere else, though I did think that it would have been easy.
My problem is simple I have a Palm TX connected via Wi-Fi, what to use its mail program to receive and send mail.
I set it up as IMAP as I did on Microsoft Outlook on a PC, which works fine.
It DL all the messages, but then when i sent something it comes back saying "unable to resolve name stmp.mail.mac.com check your DNS settings or enter the IP address for your mail server" I would assume that it is some simple setting that I overlooked?
Cannot think what it may be or what i have not done.
Any help anyone PLEASE.

Not sure about the unresolved name error. Since you can recieve you are hitting a DNS server. That would typically indicate you have the wrong smtp address.
But usually when I have trouble sending out a particular smtp server, I try turning on authentication for the smtp server. That usually fixes it for me.
BTW, your smtp authentication (if asked) would be the same as your login authentication--in most cases.

Sending Mail with ActiveX and Outlook2K

I need to be able to send a message from LabVIEW using Outlook2K. I've found the ActiveX, Outlook vi's on the dev zone and the "Create Outlook Mail Message.vi" almost works.
The VI creates the message correctly, but it doesn't actually send the message, it just places it in the 'Outbox' and it just sits there. The only way to actually send it is to go to the Outbox, double click the message to open it, and hit the send button.
This is being used as an alert message so it needs to be sent automatically with no user intervention. We do not have STMP mail access here so that's not an option.
Is there something I'm missing in the ActiveX setup, or is this just yet another Outlook problem. I can't find an option to set in Out
look to send right away, or not use the outbox.
Any thoughts?

Never mind, I figured it out myself.
The problem was the DeferredDeliveryTime attribute of the _MailItem property. I was setting this the current time and date thinking that would make it send immediately.
It doesn't seem to work that way. I fixed it by making that attribute read instead of write, and the message is sent right away.

Oh....Mail....Oh....No

Hello...
I have decided to try to set up my Mail. I currently am a Comcast customer but I don't go through them for mail just internet. I use my old school Yahoo & Hotmail for email. Don't laugh it's true. One day I'll get a .Mac account.
So anyway I started yesterday. I was able to send email but not receive it. I kept having issues with my STMP. I don't know if I should use stmp.mail.yahoo.net or stmp.comcast.net. either which way no matter how many times I double checked my password it kept rejecting my password.
Utter confusion. I was able to send an email just not recieve. Am I completely screwing everything up? Is this question making any sense. Please advise

First of all, the protocol for sending is SMTP, not STMP.
Sending mail servers are typically like smtp.comcast.net, or mail.comcast.net depending on the market. Check with comcast. Receiving messages go through POP or IMAP servers which are of the format pop.comcast.net, mail.comcast.net, or imap.comcast.net depending on the market. When connected to any services besides Comcast to send messages, you will need either an SMTP server for Comcast with the proper authentication and port, or the SMTP server of the service giving you the juice for the internet.

My system preferences groups if full

HT4061 I cannot add my email account...for 2 days it keeps saying, yahoo server unavailable...but I have it on my computer!!

I cannot add my yahoo email account to my iphone. I have been trying for 2 days and it keeps saying Yahoo server is unavailable...I can access my email on my computer, and was also able to add another email account to my iphone, but not the yahoo account.

SAP email configuration u2013 transaction SCOT

Our email is hosted on the outside and I am in the middle of changing hosts. The new hosting company will not accept sending STMP mail without authentication. There does not seem to be a way to specify a user ID and logon for the SMTP authentication. How are people sending emails from SAP on the AS/400?
I am one ECC 6.0, Netweaver 7.0

Hello Alan,
I have NEVER heard on a solution, that SAP can authenticate ...
SAP is more an SMTP server (and can act as client as well) - SMTP servers are even not having authentication in their protocol.
Where do you have information, that this might work ?
(I'm pretty sure, it will not)
Would it be possible, to alow just the IP of your iSeries in this new mail server to relay without user & password ? (That would be the typical solution)

TS3276 Mail Connection Doctor says: "Could not connect to Apple Server's STMP. As Verizon is my ISP is this the right STMP? If yes, how do I connect to Apple Server

When using Mail Connection Doctor two error messages come up with regards to sending and receiving mail from my @mac.com account.
The first one says that my @mac.com account: "Could not connect to this MobileMe IMAP server." How do I fix this? Is this caused by the way I have set my preferences? Is this related to joing iCloud? Or my ISP Verizon the problem?
The second one says in reference to my Apple Server: "Could not connect to this STMP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account perferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the "Use SSL checkbox in the Advanced tabe of Account preferences." This box was not checked. Two days ago these problems did not exist. Again, how do I figure out who to discusses these problems with?
Feedback is most welcome.

Every time I launch Mail.app my server gets STMP authentication error

From my server STMP log file:
2015-02-23 15:48:57 plain authenticator failed for 77-173-xxx-xxx.ip.telfort.nl (mbp.home) [77.173.xxx.xxx]: 535 Incorrect authentication data (set_id=username)
For some reason Mail.app tries to connect to the STMP server but doesn't properly authenticate. It does seem to set the username but not a valid password so the log files on my SMTP server are filled with these errors. Even worse brute force detection automatically blocks the ip address in the firewall because of this after 10 attempts. It's not just me, many other customers that use a mac have the same problem (I notice this because they call me for not being able to connect because of the blacklisting by the brute force scanner)
How can I fix this? Why does Mail.app try to connect without proper authentication?

No. You said to Change the authentication setting for the account on the client to one that the server supports. But I already have that. Sending mail works just fine, but for some reason Mail.app still causes authentication errors on launch and periodically about every 10 minutes
