STO 3 types

Hi All,
Theoritically what is definition & differences of following STO methods followed and in which ideal scenarios are they used?
1. STO without delivery
2. STO with delivery & without billing
3. STO with delivery and with billing
Pls help provide the info/path to understand the above.
Thanks & Regards,
Rajoo

Dear,
Most of the times we need to transfer stock of material from one plant to another plant or plants. In SAP R/3 the following type of procedures are available.
I.     Stock Transfer between Plants in:
               1.     One Step
               2.     Two Steps
II.     Stock Transport Order:
               1.     Without Delivery
               2.     With Delivery via Shipping
               3.     With Delivery and Billing Document/Invoice
Advantages of the Stock Transport Order
It has the following advantages over the transfer of stock without a stock transport order:
1.     A goods receipt can be planned in the receiving plant.
2.     A vendor can be entered in the stock transport order.
3.     Delivery costs can be entered in the stock transport order.
4.     The stock transfer order is part of MRP
5.     The goods issue is possible via a delivery or via Shipping.
6.     The goods receipt can be posted directly to consumption.
7.     The entire process can be monitored via the purchase order history.
Stock Transport Order with Delivery and Billing Document/Invoice
As per Indian Law, if the material is subject to Excise Duty, even moving between plants needs to be accompanied with Excise Invoice. The following process describes the full cycle of from stock transport order, goods issue, excise invoice and goods receipt processes.
Create Stock Transport Order
In case of requirement of materials, A Stock Transport Order stating specific quantity of material will be raised by receiving plant to the supplying plant. For creating Stock transport we can use the following path:
Logistics> Materials Management> Purchasing> Purchase Order> Create>Vendor/Supplying Plant Known
T. Code: ME21N or ME27
Creating Outbound Delivery
If the stock of material is available in Supplying Plant then Supplying Plant will create a delivery against
the above Stock Transport Order.
SAP menu> Logistics> Sales and Distribution> Shipping and Transportation> Outbound Delivery> Create> Collective Processing of Documents Due for Delivery>Purchase Orders
T. Code: VL10B
Changing Outbound Delivery
To Pick the Material and to do the Post Goods Issue supplying plant will change the above outbound delivery document.
SAP menu> Logistics> Sales and Distribution> Shipping and Transportation> Outbound Delivery> Change> Single Document
T. Code: VL02N
Creating Billing Document
After PGI, A billing Document known Commercial Invoice is created to update the corresponding GL Accounts and same is send to receiving plant (Customer).
Logistics> Sales and distribution> Billing>Billing document> Create
T. Code: VF01
Creating Excise Invoice
To meet the legal requirement and to submit it to Excise Authorities the supplying plant will create an Excise Invoice. It is a legal document and it must accompany the goods when these are being sent to the Receiving Plant (Customer).
SAP User menu> Indirect Taxes> Sales / Outbound Movements> Excise Invoice> for Sales Order> Outgoing Excise Invoice Create
T. Code: J1IIN
Goods Receipt for Stock Transport Order
With reference to Stock Transport Order as created above goods are received at the receiving plant. During entering this goods movement at receiving plant we can capture and post the Part I and Part II of excise duty. To get Excise Invoice tab at Header Data choose Check icon at third row at the top of the screen.
Logistics> Materials Management> Inventory Management> Goods Movement> Goods Receipt for Purchase Order
T. Code: MIGO

  • MRP-Exclude STO document type from MRP Run

    Hi,
I want to exclude STO document type from MRP run, so that STO Open qty will not be considered as open qty while  doing MRP.
I have checked below settings but didn't worked.
    1. In OMI8 - I have unchecked "Stock in Transfer"
    2. SPRO->Materials Management->Consumption-based Planning->Planning->Define torage Location MRP per plant
Here I have excluded ONE storage location from MRP and same storage location has been used in the STO.
Can anyone know how to resolve this ?
    Regards,
    Rakesh

    Rakesh,
Yes, they will not be relevant for MRP.  Neither will anything else in that storage location.  However, the setting is not in configuration, but in the material master (MRP4 tab).
The configuration setting you mentioned has no impact on existing material masters, it is only used to determine the default settings for newly created storage location entries for a material/plant..
You can set a particular material/plant/stlocn to be irrelevant for MRP.  This relevancy is irrespective of document type, it can be a STO, a purchase req, a sales order,  a production order, or it could be stock (inventory)  - all supply and demand in this material/plant/stlocn are excluded from MRP processing.
MRP relevancy of storage location is set at the material/plant/storage location level in the material master.
If you do not wish to exclude a storage location from MRP, then you will have to find another way to make your STOs Irrelevant for MRP.  As I said earlier, STOs (like any other Purchase orders that are configured to process stock ), are generally considered to be relevant for MRP.
If you were a client, I would suggest that you rethink your business model that drives this requirement.
If the business model cannot be altered, and the storage location solution is unacceptable, then you will be stuck with a customized solution.

  • Multiple STO document types conflict in ME59N

    Folks,
    I have the following  scenario's:
    1) PReq NB with item category U -> intercompany STO NB (depends on the supplying and receiving plant) document types gets determined correctly through STO document type customizing (T161W)
    2) Preq NB with item category u -> intracompany STO UB, document types gets determined correctly through STO document type customizing (T161W)
    3) exception flow where preq ZF gets created through a development. This is also inter- and intracompany traffic. In case it's intercompany it should get ZF1 and in case it's intracompany it should get ZF2.
I've set preq - PO linkage that ZF preq can be linked to ZF1 and ZF2. Now when running ME59N, it seems that system only takes settings of T161W into consideration and wants an NB document type and this is not allowed (preq - PO linkage table).
Any suggestions how to set up scenario 3?

  • STO condition type P101

    Hi All,
How does STO condition type P101 picks up the supplying plan't material cost (from accounting view) into the STO conditions. There's no access seq for P101 and therefore no cond rec can be maintained...right?
I trying to understand how the material stand cost from material master it pulled into the STO condition type P101?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    In M/06, for condition type P101 (Valuation Price of Supplying Plant), check following;
    Cond. class   B Prices
    Calculat.type C Quantity
    Cond.category G Cost
Because of Condition Category "G", Condition Type "P101" picks the MAP or Standard Price of the Material from the Supplying Plant.

  • PGI for STO movement type error Message no. L9005

    Hi Gurus,
I have created an STO.Created delivery and confirmed TO.
Now while doing PGI,single step only(647 movement type),
    system throws the following message,
    "" Error during search for WM movement type (641 1 L K  )
       Message no. L9005 "".
As per my checking for both IM movement types 641 and 647, ' 641 ' has been assigned as
Ref movement type and " 601"  has been assigned as WM movement type.
601 is maintained in WM.Should I maintain 641 in WM?That case I have to change SAP std settings..
If so pls provide me the details for 641 K.
    Kindly help.
    Best Regards

    Hi Kumar,
    Try the following:
Maintain an entry for your warehouse with movement type 641 SpStIn and Movment Indicator l combination in transaction OMLR.
    And also ,
Check in IMG Path - Enterprise Structure --> Assignment --> Logistis Execution --> Assign warehouse number to plant/storage location.
Here check whether the warehouse number is assigned to your plant and storage location.
    Thanks!

  • STO Movement Type !

    hi
Could anyone guide me on this:
I have created a material master which is meant for free samples.
The material master fields have the same values except the two things:
    1. We have a material group sepately for samples.
    2. A separate Valuation class created and assigned in the material master for samples.
Now, when i do STO for the material, in the delivery ,instead of proposing 641 system is proposing 647 movement type. This 647 is a copied from 641.
I am wondering what prompts system to propose MT 647 instead of 641.
Item category and delivery type is correct.
I checked up OMJJ, movement type defining area, did not find anything useful.
can any one help me by explaining what prompts MT647 and where is the control?

    Hi...
Please check Mvt. Type in item catagory of delivery. What is the default is set there in mvt. type field.
    Thx.

  • STO Inspection type 08

Stock transport orders are used to move materials from one plant to other plant. However, no inspection process is performed when inventory moved between plant to plant transfer using stock transfer orders.
Materials are activated with 08 inspection type to perform inspection processes with in plant. Therefore, removing 08 inspection type may not be possible from material master. When material is received using STO system creates inspection lot of type 08. Is there a way to avoid creating inspection lot when material is received from other plants ?
The option what I thought is to create a quality info record and set "No inspection" however, this option is not possible because there is no vendor in stock transport order process.
The other option is to create an dynamic modification rule and set up skips such that system never post stock in quality when goods receipt is performed for stock transfer order.
Please recommend if there is a way to avoid creating inspection lot of type 08 when goods receipt is performed for stock transfer order.
    Thanks
    S

Well there is one solution available for this
1.In OMJJ make a copy of mvt type 301 ( just an example : considering your  material transfer takes palce through 301 mvt) say Z01.
In QCC3--->Inspection lot creation >inspection for goods mvt>Deactivate Quality Inspection for a Movement Type->for Z01 you can deactivate QM.
You haev to use only Z01 when you carry out STO.
This will not create Inspection lot for this mvt type. But when you do transfer from storage location to storage location say with 311 it will create inspection lot of 08 as per your requirement.
    I hope this males sence............

  • STO cond type P100 vs. P101

    Hi All,
What's the difference between P100 and P101. While P100 has an Access Seq and Pricin Proc for Supplm Conditions, P101 does not.
P100 is Transfer price of supplying plant. Is this the price adopted ot the Billing Document in SD?
Currently we have P101 from Pricing Schema RM2000 for STO, but the PO price shows as Zero in the Output Message (but in P101 correctly shows the Material Val Price in Cond tab). Is this because we're Not using P100 (Transfer Price)?
    Thanks in Advance

    hi
for P100 condition type, condition category is  basic  price and acess sequence is assigned to it . so  for system to pick price you have to maintain condition record using MEK1
but for P101 you have condition categoy as cost price
which it picks from material master.

  • STO Document Type (UB) Issue

    Dear All,
I am facing a problem in the document type UB. I was copied standard document type 'UB' as "ZUB' and creat STO with the document type ZUB .I was trying to make delivery with MM route (GI in 351 and GR in 101). At the time of making GI in migo screen I got error "This order does not contain items for a stock transfer" Message no. M7153.
But at the same time when I was making the STO with standard document type "UB' it won't through any error and the document was posted properly.
So kindly suggest me the solution with regards to this issue because we can't use the standard one .

    Hi
See SAP Note 498143 - FAQ: Stock transfer with delivery in purchasing
For delivery type usually is used the mov 641 for delivery type NL. For cross company you use the mv 643 and del.type NLCC (for cross-company, see SAP Note 109254 - Customizing stock transport order Cross Company, it's the same, change NLCC by NL and forget the billing)

How to apply release strategy for STO for order type UB ? Except UB order type I'm able to apply release strategy. Is there any Config for exclusition ?
    What is the userexit for STO Creation i.e. ME27 / ME21 ?
    Regards,

check UB is existing or not in the existing characteristics or any combination characteristics stops you.
you need to create a characteristic with CEKKO--BSART and assign the same in your class and further use this characteristic in your release strategy.

  • STO - Movement Types

    Hi
GRN with reference to purchase order or Inbound delivery, movement type taken is 101.
I've configured the STO process (Site to Site & Storage Location to Storage Location).
    Site to Site process
STO and outbound delivery is created. Post Goods Issue completed with movement type (641). Same movement type 101 is captured during Goods receipt with respect to outbound delivery. Same in the case of Location to location STO.
Since movement type 101 is used for both process, in reporting level i'm not able to differentiate GR done from vendors and GR done through STO's.
Whether any customized movement types can be used for STO process.

    Hi..
Following are the DC and stores which we have.
    DC : 6000 (Warehouse)
    Store : 6001 (Showroom)
GR from vendors with reference to PO or inbound delivery completed with movement type 101 in DC 6000
    Present stock position is 1000.
Now a STO from site to site 6000 to 6001
STO created for 10 pcs - Outbound delivery - PGI completed (641) - GR done at 6001 with reference to outbound delivery (101).
Again STO from 6001 to 6000.
STO created for 10 pcs - Outbound delivery - PGI completed (641) - GR done at 6000 with reference to outbound delivery (101).
Now the entries with movement type 101 in DC 6000 is for 1000 pcs and 10 pcs.
While extracting the data to BI, for stock movement reports. GRN qty will consider 1010 pcs.
We have around 7800 SKU's, entire report is getting wrong. Thats why i'm enquiring about customized movement types. Please suggest.

  • Valuation Type Issue with STOs

    Hello Folks !!
In the client environment Materials are going to be Batch Managed as well as Split Valuated (by Country of Origin "H" Category).
When we create STOs, Valuation Type of the receiving plant is mandatory and it has to be specified up in the STO Order itself. [ According to SAP OSS Note: 66593]
The problem here is the Planner who is creating the STO is not going to know the Valuation Type of the Receiving Plant at the time of creating the STO.
The valuation type of the product will be known only at the time of Shipping. That is, upon delivery creation the Batches will be determined and the Shipping Valuation Type will be known.
Also Note that : If we pick any default valuation type at the time of the STO creation, that is going to create problems at the time of receiving at the receiving plant, because if a different valuation type is shipped than the one mentioned in the STO Order, the system is going to say, that the Batch Valuation Type and the Valuation Type Specified in teh STO are different.
What do you Experts Suggest !! How could this be resolved ??
    Cheers

    dear experts
we had faced similar issue and done enhancement to substitute Val Type of PDI to PO before GR.
But this has resulted in inconsistency in ML & MCHA.
The Financial & ML entry is posted at the time of PGI (641 mov type) and subsequent change on GR is not correct.
Now we have reverted the enhancement and finding alternative solution.
Some body suggested Automatic PO based on PGI.
    regards
    Hardy

please let me notice, that i am using the STO scenario without deliveries etc. Just STO and Goods Issue in transit and then GR.

    Hi,
Do refer the below OSS Notes,
The valuation types in PO line item will be carried to receiving stock and not issuing stock..
66953 - Stock transport order for split-valuated material
