STO between storage locs

Hi Guys
I have a scenario
One plant has 11 Storage locations and all are HUM managed
Boxes(Handling units ) are supposed to be moved between different locations
we need Sales order and purchase order  without prices
Suggest the list of steps.

Hi,
You can move from one storage location to other by creating the STO order & with transfer posting the stock from one location to other location & GR in the receiving Location & plant.
You can prepare the condition type without any value ,you can add only the freight charge involvement here & do stock transfer from one location to other loaction.

  • STO Between Storage location configuration

    Hi,
We are using STO configured for Plant to Plant stock transfer.
Now we wish to configure STO between Storage Location
We wish to know whether STO between Storage locations can be used along with STO between Plants.
    We are in ECC 6.0.
    Regards,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
Yes, you can use STO with plant to plant as well as STO with st.loc to st.loc. but the plants have to be differnet plants.
Check the customizing for st.loc. sto in ECC 6.0

  • Relation between storage loc and workcenter/resource

    Dear Gurus
My client wants that whatever materials (fert) coming out from a particular workcenter/resource should be posted to a particular storage location. And that the system should propose the storage location while posting of goods. Can a storage location be assigned for any workcenter/resource.
    Regards
    Sandip Sarkar

    Hi,
    2 suggestions:
    1. I presume you have created different routings / group counters within the same routing each specifying the different work center from which you can assemble / manufacture the final product.
Now create different production versions, by specifying the routing & bom details in the PV. Also in the PV, in the section Other Data, you will find a field called Receive Location, here specify the storage loc. relevant for each work center.
Now when you create the order, read the production version which is relevant i.e. depending on the work center, then once the order is completed system will post the stock to the SLoc which you have pre-defined.
    2. Use BADi - WORKORDER_UPDATE, method - AT_SAVE or use User exits PPCO0006 or PPCO0007. Create a Z table with Work center and Sloc & this enhancement you can refer to the work center and assign the relevant SLoc, discuss with your abaper.

  • Define Shipping Data for Stock Transfers Between Storage Locations

    Hi Guru,
Can i know what is the purpose to maintain Customer, SHipping data for each storage location for the STO between storage location?
    Purchasing --> Purchase Order -->
    Set up Stock Transport Order-->
Set Up Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations-->
Define Shipping Data for Stock Transfers Between Storage Locations

The Sales org, Distribution channel, Shipping point, Vendor and Customer are maintained to created the delivery.
It is for the transfer of stock between storage locations with any movement type.
Eg: When you do a 311 movement type from Sloc A to Sloc B, then it will create a inbound delivery with the Vendor specified for Sloc A and an outbound delivery from Sloc B with the Customer specified assuming the customer and the vendor as the Plant.
You have to create a internal Vendor and Customer.
    Hope it helps.

  • STO between plant and storage location MRP area

    Dear PP/DS experts,
For some business requirements, I want to model stock trnasfer order scenario from plant to storage lacation MRP area but the system only make stock trasnfer reservation.
In my EPR system, I maintainted storage location MRP area material with special procurement 45, then the transportaion lane is created between location 1200(location type 1001) to MRP area 1300(location type 1007).
    My question :
    1) Is it possible to make stock transfer order scenario instead of stock transfer reservation between plant and MRP area ?
    2) If possible, Is there something to do more in master data maintenance except mentioned above in ERP ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
Yes you can perform intracompany STO (Plant to plant) and STO at Storage location level at the same time,
We are using same for our client.

  • Storage loc to Storage loc transfer thru STO

I have seen something for storage location to storage location transfer  through STO in IMG but not getting how to use that.Anybody have any idea about this how to use or work?
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi neetu,
The tag for activate STO for storage locaton to storage location in MM is for using a Storage location as the supplier ,as of in standard SAP we use Plant as supplier for STO's not storage location's directly in the vendor field at the time of STO.
its already mentioned in notes you can check that also. and main thing this is not active in Standard system as it may cause some undefined problems in systems.
Better go ahead with the Standard process.

  • Stock transfer between storage locations

    Hello All,
We have a scenario wherin ONE PLANT has MULTIPLE SLOC's across INDIA.
Now we need to transfer some manufactured machines to these various storage locations which are actually stockyards.
How do we go executing this??
I know about the STO between sloc's...but how is the excise angle covered here, since when the materials are transported across various states this would include the EXCISE component as well.
A detailed description is expected please.
    Regards,
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
You can use the S. loc to s. loc STO for this issues.
Since it is exciable use below steps.
    Create STO ME21N.
(Pricing procedure) (Invoice Tab u2013 Mention the Excise Tax procedure)
    Outbound delivery : Vl10B
    PGI:  Vl02N
Outbound Excise Doc. For PGI material Doc. :
    Billing u2013 Vf01
    MIGO at Receiving S.LOc u2013MIGO
Inbound Excise Invoce : J1iEX (W.r.t GR Material Doc )

  • Transfer posting between storage location

    Hi
2 questions: we are going to create a new storage location to make material movements:
1- We have to move stock between storage location.
    Storage A(new): without WM
    Storage B: under WM.
We would like to know wich is the best practice to do the transfer: MB1B? 301/311 movement type?
2 -  If we decided to create a new storage location with WM. Wich are the recomendations or the points we have to consider:
Under the same Warehouse numer? A knew storage type? Wich are the activities in SPRo?
Thanks in advance for the help

If it is the same physical Warehouse you could use the same Warehouse, otherwise a new or no Warehouse.
If the Storage Locations are near by and stock doesn't cross public roads and it's manually initiated, suggest just use a one step as it's the simplest process.
If there's a significant distance but on-site use two-step or if stock transferred by public roads, use STO.

  • Stock transfer between storage location in IS -Retail

    Hi,
I want to have a Stock transfer order between two storage locations in the plant.
I have activated the "Activate Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations", now i can create a STO and have the "Issuing SLoc" tab.
Having that i get an error message "Not possible to determine shipping data for material XXX" Message no. 06280.
I am trying to have the shipping data in customizing for set stock transfer  - "Define Shipping Data for Plants", but my site is not listed due to the use of IS Retail. Is there a way to configure it?
    Tnx
    Lior

    Hello Lior,
in Retail your distribution center is a vendor and a customer, and your store is a customer. Therefore when you create master data for your distribution centre and store, you also create the vendor and customer masters that are required.
By this link of the DC / Store to the customer master the shipping data is derived. I hope this answers your question.
If you have further queries related to this, please do post them.

  • Stock transfer between stor loc. of same plant triggered by Sales Order

    Hello everyone
I need some input regarding triggerring Stock Transfer between 2 storage locations of the plant from a Sales Order.
    Sales Org: ABCD
    Plant: WXYZ
    Stor Location: 0001 & 0002
Now here 0001 is the Picking location for the Delivery Document.
However 0002 is where all the stock is stacked.
Physically they both are different buildings in the same vicinity.
The Business wants the Sales Order to trigger the stock movement from 0002 to 0001 on a daily basis.
So from a end user prospective, they will move the stock from 0002 to 0001 for all the items needed to fulfill the Orders due for Shipment for that day.
What options do I have for this ?
    Thanks
    Vin

Well actually the Selling Org ABCD is of a different Company code .. it is a typical case of Intercompany Sales .. where the Plant WXYZ is belonging to another company code.
I have setup the Intercompany Sales Process .. and want to trigger the Stock movement as mentioned above.
I have configured the STO for storage location - stor. location in a Plant. ...
However I am struggling to trigger a STO from a Sales Order.
I tried using the Schedule Lines to trigger a Pur. Req ... however the Supplying Plant field remains blank (which is the same in this case as it is a stock movement between 2 locations of the same plant).
The flow looks somewhat like this
    Sales Order -
    > Stock Transfer PR in Plant WXYZ -
    > Delivery Doc for the STO --- > MIGO to receipt the inventory in 0001 -
    > Delivery DOc for Sales Order -
    > Invoice for end customer --- > Intercompany Invoice
If anyone has automated creation of a STO from a Sales Order .. please advice
    Thanks
    Vin

  • Prod storage loc field in mrp2 view

Hi, as i understand materials are stored in mm storage locations. from mm storage locations, materials will be issued to production orders. in this case why we need prod storage loc filed in mrp2 view of the material master? please advise in which scenario we need to use this field? is it necessary to define prod storage loc in discreate manufacturing? thank you all for your support.

    Dear ,
Find the answer of your questions:
    1. why we need prod storage loc filed in mrp2 view of the material master?    It is nothing but a intrim stroge location between Store and Shop Floor specially nearby the Production Line from where componenet  are issued or back flashed  based on the SAP set up of Issu Storage Loaction Priority .
Basically , if you want a SFG material to be issues to FG after in-house production of the SFG  and also want to keep some of the Bulk Item or common item which can be  issued immediatly upon reservation rather going to MMD store , then one way it will save your time .
2.please advise in which scenario we need to use this field?   In case you have SFG/Bulk Item /Low value stock item which are utilised now and then in productiion line or in a group of work centre  and you want to material  can be picked up immediately as it near the operation line , then you have a facility to stock material called Issue or Production Storage Loaction .
3.is it necessary to define prod storage loc in discreate manufacturing  It is not necessary .But REM  is is useful for Back Flashing iteem. For FG in house producted item , you can receive the material specifically as SFG/FG store to diffierentiate from others  .Some time , you can use the same to store the Sales Order stock based on MTO-Discrete Manufactruing for an cutomer order .
Check my posting in this thread : Production Storage Location
    Hope this is helpful

  • STO between stores of same plant stock in transit

    Hi,
How could I keep the stock in transit if I perform STO between stores of same plant?,I have configured it through sale route it is working fine ,now I want to track the goods in transit ,so i need to do a transfer posting to keep the stock in transit, How will I do ?,
    Any suugestions
    Regards
    Senthilnambi

    Hi,
Use T-code MB5T to check what is in-transit.
    See below solutions :
Create a Stock Transport Order and make your receiving Plant and suppyling plant identical, however your receiving Storage
location should be different and in config make your sending storage location as number default.
    Or
Use MIGO >Transfer Posting>Other and select movement type 411.

  • Unable to create delivery for STO between different stroage locations

    Hi,
i created PO for STO between differen storage locations belonging to the same plant.
At the time creating PO iam getting warning message " Of material RM-999999, only 0 KG are available on desired
date". what could be the reason?
when iam doing vl10b, PO is displaying but when iam selecting the PO line and clicking on the background button it is not generating any delivery document number and it is not showing any errors?
can any one help on this.

    Hi Praveen,
While executing VL10B, you are actually planning to create outbound delivery for STO PO.
The STO PO will be due for delivery on that date and hence PO is displayed in the transaction.
The error message specified by you means on the due date of delivery, there is no material quantity exists at supplying storage location. This could be because no quantity exists in storage location or there could be some reservations available for available quantity or some other quantity is booked under some other outbound delivery document on or before that date.
Check for stock on posting date via t-code MB5B and proceed accordingly.
    Hope this resolves your problem.
    -Ravi
